IVF Dec 2020-Jan 2021-anyone joining me?

Hi,
After 2 years TTC #1 we are now eventually on the IVF bus! Should have started in June but Covid put a stop to that and after lots of back/forth with our NHS clinic we've got our treatment planning appointment on Friday and will be on the long protocol so probably starting mid- end of December!
Would love to have some ladies join me!
I've been creeping on other IVF threads but haven't been able to fully take part.

Hey @Kiza
I just wanted to say wishing you the best with your 2 follicles, try to stay positive, easier said than done I know. I had a friend who was in similar situation to you where it still worked Smile

Kiza · 16/01/2021 11:25

Thanks ladies, these forums have been a lifeline for the last 2 years. We're all complete strangers but tied together due to sharing the same experiences that most of our loved ones just don't understand. Grateful to have you all to rant to and give me hope and well wishing ☺️

Finally have had a proper flow rather than the occasional spotting. Now I don't know whether to count this as day 1 or tomorrow. I'm thinking tomorrow would be day 1 as it's late afternoon now and have to take morning/afternoon/evening progynova
Does this sound right ?

MF1981 · 16/01/2021 16:28

Any of you who have already had an FET, did you have a heavy feeling in your uterus in the days leading up to transfer? I feel really heavy like AF is nearly here.

Mseddy · 17/01/2021 10:21

@MF1981 yeah I did. Are you on Progynova? It's that that does it. A friend of mine is on it as HRT and she gets the same

MF1981 · 17/01/2021 11:17

@Mseddy yes I’m on progynova. Thank goodness it’s not just me! Was getting worried AF was about to appear!

MrsMeow2019 · 17/01/2021 14:46

@Kiza so true, it’s hard to talk to people in real life and it’s rare they’ve actually experienced infertility and have any idea how we feel. It’s the crappiest club to be part of isn’t it :-(

Has anyone got experience with cyclogest pessaries ? My boobs are so sore and getting cramps since ET 2 days ago.

Hope you’re all having a nice weekend, I’ve been online shopping and ordered clothes that I have nowhere to wear them 😆- slightly cheered me though

Mseddy · 17/01/2021 16:39

@MrsMeow2019 I'm on cyclogest. My boobs onlt started hurting at 5dp5dt and I got my bpf the next day! Cramps too. Could be a good sign

Janefx40 · 18/01/2021 11:38

Hello everyone.

@Kiza I'm so sorry you've had such a stressful time. Ignore that silly scanning woman - some cycles work better than others and sometimes it means a change to the protocol in future. But also, as everyone says (and it annoyed the hell out of me until it actually happened for me) it only takes one. I've been around these boards for about 3 years now and I have seen so many women panicking about having few eggs and then testing positive. Really really hope this is you.

@elsaesmeralda sorry I missed your post on Saturday. I'm sure it would have been fine to start progynova on either day. My clinic usually counts first day as full flow before 12pm but I don't think it matters too much.

@MrsMeow2019 congrats on the transfer! I've had 5 cell embryos on day 2 and they've been fine on later days. So exciting. When is your test day?

@starkid sounds like it's all going well. Hope the extra drugs make things even better

@MF1981 when is your transfer? Hope all goes well

We have our urology appointment on Wednesday. Hoping to get some answers but in reality will just be the start of more tests. No idea if/when we'll be able to start a cycle again.

Xxx

MF1981 · 18/01/2021 11:42

Thanks @Janefx40 I have a scan on Thursday and hopefully if all is well transfer will be middle of next week. Really excited and nervous!

starkid · 18/01/2021 11:49

Thanks @Janefx40 - scan today went well, since Friday and upping my dosage of gonal-f, I went from 4 to now 8 good-size follicles! Plus a few smaller ones that might still grow by Friday.
@MF1981 - sounds like transfer for me will also be middle of next week Smile
@MrsMeow2019 - exciting times!
@Kiza - I hope you're ok this week xx

elsaesmeralda · 18/01/2021 12:39

@Janefx40 hi! I started them yesterday morning, checked with the clinic this morning they said bleed before 12 is day 1 so for me yesterday was day 1.
Does anyone know if there any side effects from the progynova?

Janefx40 · 18/01/2021 12:55

@elsaesmeralda I only took progynova on one cycle (my successful one actually although that is unrelated - it was a different protocol that required it). I had no side effects until I came off it at 12 weeks pregnant when I had the worst day of nausea and sickness! But it was short lived. Hopefully you will be fine

@starkid great news on those follicles

@MF1981 exciting times x

Kiza · 18/01/2021 13:10

@starkid that's good news, hope they catch up

@Janefx40 that's reassuring to hear and as @MrsMeow2019 it really does only take 1!

Our scan this morning showed the 2 follies have grown to 18mm and the other 4 and still tiny and not responded. It was a different doctor and she was much more optimistic than the previous one. She said there's no reason why the other follicles wouldn't respond to future ivf cycles and to try with my own eggs at least once more before considering egg donar.

I'm so grateful they are proceeding with egg collection on Wednesday with only 2 follicles as I'm aware ccg's request a minimum of 4!
Now just have to pray that on Wednesday they manage to get 2 🥚 🥚

Hey guys, hope everyone’s ok. Has anyone heard of the cyclogest pessaries and progynova giving a false positive? I know if you have a fresh transfer then the trigger shot can but wouldn’t of thought they could.

Janefx40 · 18/01/2021 16:50

@Emmalouise11 hello! Do you mean on a pregnancy test? No, that isn't possible. Pregnancy tests measure Hcg as you know. Most trigger shots are Hcg which is why that can give you a false positive but only if you test early. Hcg is closely related to LH so opks can pick up pregnancy (or a trigger shot) but not the other way around. Progesterone and Oestrogen are different hormones. However, digital CB OPKs so detect oestrogen surges prior to ovulation so you could get a flashing smiley on one of those.

No idea if that is any help or just stuff you already knew!

@Kiza great that EC can go ahead. Fingers crossed for you xxx

Emmalouise11 · 18/01/2021 16:55

Thank you @Janefx40 yes I tested early only at 4dp5dt and got a very faint positive and a faint but darker at 5dp5dt and when I spoke to the nurse she basically said don’t get your hopes up cause the medication can give you a false positive, but that’s the only medication I’m on 😕

onlyhereforthefood · 18/01/2021 19:55

@Kiza keeping everything crossed for you lovely!

I get my meds tomorrow for FET prep. Just waiting on my period then, due on Thursday in theory, but my body randomly goes months without them when it suits!

Janefx40 · 18/01/2021 21:32

@onlyhereforthefood hope AF turns up and doesn't play silly buggers!

@Emmalouise11 I'm useless at calculating the life of the trigger shot so I don't know. The nurse will have been talking about your trigger shot I suppose. But equally it could be good news. Will keep everything crossed for you xxx

Kiza · 19/01/2021 06:51

@Emmalouise11 I was watching YouTube videos last night (in preparation for administering my trigger shot) and lots of the videos were saying it can remain in your system for up to 10 days 🤷🏼‍♀️ but then I've also heard of ladies who tested on day 8/9 with a genuine positive. It's so hard!
I'm hoping this is a positive outcome for you though.

Thanks @onlyhereforthefood hope your body plays ball and AF shows up on time!

Emmalouise11 · 19/01/2021 06:57

@Janefx40 @Kiza yeah I had a frozen transfer so never had a trigger shot that’s why I was confused lol. Thank you x

elsaesmeralda · 19/01/2021 11:54

@Emmalouise11 fingers crossed for you!

So I should be having our transfer start of feb, I feel sick with worry it isn't going to work. Am I just being miserable or is this normal to feel this way??? Honestly I'm trying to block it out and be positive but I can't shake this feeling SadSad

Janefx40 · 19/01/2021 14:59

@elsaesmeralda it's total normal to feel stressed and worried and it won't make any difference to the result. We look forward to it and dread it in equal measure. You've still got a couple of weeks to prepare anyway!

@Emmalouise11 maybe the nurse wasn't paying attention and hadn't remembered you did an FET. Either way a positive test sounds like possible good news so fingers crossed.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

Xxx

Emmalouise11 · 19/01/2021 18:58

Thanks guys hope yous are all ok xx

onlyhereforthefood · 19/01/2021 19:30

@elsaesmeralda 100% with you on this one
