Wow @ChicaXS 11 eggs great 😀. Rest up.

@JenniferRo28 well done on your five eggs. Don’t be disheartened remember it takes one.

Hope you’re all doing well.

Feel like my brain has gone to mush.

thefishthatcouldwish · 16/09/2020 18:58

@Alexm06 welcome to TWW. Fingers crossed for a sticky one.

When I said my brain was foggy I have been very dippy today. I have done biz are things all day. Went to put paper in the fridge and not the photocopier to name but one.

ChicaXS · 16/09/2020 19:03

@Alexm06 I cried like a baby so your not alone! I am really praying for a sticky for you hun - fingers crossed. Do not stress and what’s next, focus on the now x

@Rumtopf I’m feeling good, just a bit nauseous lol! I felt absolutely worse before egg collection the bloat and pain was annoying and walking actually hurt. No I can walk again!

@OfTwelve well done hun for such a great number - I am so happy for you! Yes the stirrups and the wires are really off putting, for me is the sedation as I honestly don’t like not being in control. It was my first EV too so didn’t know what to expect!

@HavingFaith @LKSF @fightingtobepositive thank you for your reassurance! I’m going to try sleep tonight but anxiety has kicked in with the call tomorrow. Just gotta remember what will be will be! So if it’s bad news I can always try again in November.
@JenniferRo28 I’m sorry to hear that - I know how you feel - I had 23 follicles, then 18 and they only collected 11 eggs so it feels like a failure in a way as I will be PGS testing the ones that make it to day 5 if any so my odds are severely slashed! But it’s quality not quantity so I’ll be praying for us both that we will get our golden egg - I’d be happy with that! I already settled myself to do another cycle soon as I can anyway.

Does anyone know how soon women generally get their period after EC if they’re going for freeze all? My little phase is usually 14 days.

Thanks all xx

Alexm06 · 16/09/2020 19:04

@thefishthatcouldwish I’ve been the same. Had my first day back at work since starting as I had a self isolate and I’ve never felt so tried/drained ever in my life. I’ve been all over the place today haha

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 16/09/2020 19:25

@thefishthatcouldwish
I’m glad I’m not the only one!!!!!
I put x2 spoons of salt in my teaching assistants coffee, left my laptop and phone at work!!! My brain has given up! 🤣

SpyroC · 16/09/2020 19:49

Hi ladies, Sorry to jump in on your thread, I'm waiting to start a new cycle and therefore don't have a thread home at the moment. I was just wandering what advice your clinics have given relating to covid? My last cycle was July/August and I was told to self-isolate which wasn't a problem but now I can't do that (I'm a teacher) so I'm a bit worried.

I recognise a few names from previous threads and it's great to see you all moving forward. Best of luck to you all x

@Rumtopf great news on the fertilisation and good luck for tomorrow. I remember our first rounds were very similar. X

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 16/09/2020 20:13

@SpyroC
Welcome 👋💗
I’m a teacher too and I’m now back at work.
I had my transfer this week and asked the nurse and consultant r.e school.
They said to resume life as ‘normal’. Follow the social distancing guidance however I can’t do that as I teach 4 year olds!
But they said to just be sensible and no other precautions to take.
I’ve had my transfer now so very chilled and I hold hands with my class and comfort them if they need a hug.
It’s sooo nice to be back at work as it’s an escape from this crazy ivfness.

Hope the start of your treatment goes well. Xx

Rumtopf · 16/09/2020 20:17

Loving all the battyness, I tried to jam the kettle in the fridge and left the milk on the side.

@JenniferRo28 sorry you're disappointed, I hope the call tomorrow is good news for you. It's such a turbulent journey.

@ChicaXS my freeze all cycle was 25 days long so 5 days shorter than a normal cycle. It was 13 days post EC.

Getting a bit anxious about tomorrow's phone call! I'm still bloated and SO sore on my left ovary. They had a hard time finding it so had to apply pressure and it keeps twinging.

granddesigns · 16/09/2020 20:32

Can I jump on board and be between the September and October threads?! Just spotted my old triplet friend from earlier this year @SpyroC on here going round again and wonder if we might coincide with dates again? I'm on down reg in September for a transfer mid October (prostap on Friday) so joined the October ladies but realised all my questions and frustrations were before the transfer last time! Back story is we are MFI and IVF with ICSI. Fresh cycle in March got cancelled with Covid, first FET started in may but down reg went badly wrong and I had flare cysts etc so took about 6 weeks to down reg (they have started by switching me off with the pill for a week beforehand this time)! Transfer in early July resulted in miscarriage at 6 weeks. Now doing an FET (final bit of NHS funding) as one of our embryos didn't survive the defrosting stage so really hoping this one does and is the strong one!

Rumtopf · 16/09/2020 20:56

@SpyroC and @granddesigns it's so nice to "see" you here. I really hope that this time round it's our turn too x

Minster2012 · 16/09/2020 21:26

@Eggling yay! Wiki you are PUPO and I agree with @HavingFaith on the symptom spotting! How's that neck pain @HavingFaith?!!!

@ChicaXS 11 is a great number! 🤞🏻they all grow on!

@JenniferRo28 I can totally understand the disappointment on the number collected after the follicle number, I was similar in the past, but stick with those now & think they are the strong eggs & will them to fertilise & grow for you xx

Welcome @OfTwelve OMG my DH said I was totally the same and talking ABSOLUTE crap it was hilarious APPARENTLY. Can't say I saw the funny side having had my insides rummaged around with 😂🙄

@Alexm06 here's hoping for that super sticky bean

I'm so pleased for MN, I've had a really good cry today, I'm still feeling super unsupported, DH hasn't asked how I am tonight or anything we've only talked about his work today which is v stressful but I've spent all my extra time helping him out running the business I need him to help me too. I'm now upstairs watching tv having washed my hair & got wine to console me a couple of hours ago 🙄

OfTwelve · 16/09/2020 21:40

@Minster2012
Yeah they're really shady with that... And while you're under they'll just slip a pain killer in your back passage... Well thanks a lot for that right!! Didn't want any dignity anyway.

My husband is stressed with work at the moment... It's interesting really, I think it's easier to think what will be will be when it's not you doing it all. Easier to get consumed when you're the one who has to remember the appointments, the medication and basically give yourself a degree in fertility. I'd just day to him... I feel very stressed/tired/worried and it would help if you... I'm sure he'd go for a way to help, especially if you start with something simple.

Rumtopf · 17/09/2020 07:44

I'm sorry @Minster2012 that sounds rubbish, have you explicitly said to him what you need and that you're feeling unsupported? It's very easy for our husbands to be a little removed from the process and add in some work stress and they aren't as attentive as they could be. Have you anyone else irl that can support you emotionally?

HavingFaith · 17/09/2020 07:47

Morning ☺️

@poupou good luck with your scan! I’m really hoping it goes well and your lining is nice and thick! xx

@ChicaXS and @JenniferRo28 I hope you both have positive updates from the embryologist! I also hope they phone you early so you’re not anxiously waiting xx

To everyone in the tww, how are you all doing?

Good luck to everyone with appts today!x

HavingFaith · 17/09/2020 07:56

@Minster2012 sorry to hear your feeling so unsupported. This is already such a lonely and difficult time, I hope you’re able to speak to him so that he can see that you need him.
And I really hope the wine helped!xx

Evey43 · 17/09/2020 08:04

Hi all, I haven’t had a lot of news to share but have been quietly reading your posts and willing you all along. Good to everyone with scans and updates today xx

So I just heard back about my ECG (via text 🙄) , the cardiologist wrote back to the GP (and I know they’ve had the letter since Monday but the receptionist couldn’t share what it said with me, saying it needed to be a GP , earliest they had was today). They think the leads of the ECG machine were on incorrectly, and what me to book another. I’m so angry that they made me wait for that knowing how anxious I’ve been. I still have this weird discomfort in my chest which why they did the ECG on the first place, so good news in some ways I guess but I’m still worried.

On a good note, I have my 7 week scan on 8th October, when I’ll be a day off 8 weeks so hopefully it’ll show everything is ok.

Xx

poupou · 17/09/2020 08:05

@HavingFaith thank youuu so much! Fingers crossed, i am ao anxious and worried!
How is the tww going? Are you still very tired from progesterone? Ps: ask the phlebotomist if its possible to make your blood test urgent tmr as results are usually coming back in the evening but if its urgent they will have it by noon.

HavingFaith · 17/09/2020 08:13

@poupou ooh, great tip! Thank you!
I’m feeling pretty good, I’ve been having cramping, primarily on my right side but yesterday evening it began to feel like period cramps...I’m not sure is any of this means anything, just trying to take each day as it comes! I’m still really sleepy but I’m happily fitting in an afternoon nap each day 🤣🤣

@Evey43 that is so frustrating!! I hope they can do another ECG soon! Why on earth couldn’t you be told that on Monday but the receptionist!
But that is so exciting to hear about the first scan!!! So happy for you xx

This is my first time being on mumsnet - but it’s insane how much I feel all of your highs and lows, considering I don’t even know your names 🤣🤣

JandL2020 · 17/09/2020 08:35

Absolutely no symptoms so far @HavingFaith. It’s only been 4 days though. It’s all I can think about at the moment but I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix which has helped. Today I’m getting off my lazy arse and doing some exercise 😂

Eggling · 17/09/2020 09:33

@poupou good luck today!

@Minster2012 I'm sorry you're not feeling supported by your DH. I do think it's different for partners as they're not embroiled all the time. I had a discussion with DH a few weeks ago about how frustrating I found it that he was able to compartmentalise and crack on with most things as normal whereas for me this has been all consuming for so long. It would be good if he could ask how you are etc, would you be able to sit down with him and have a chat about it?

@ChicaXS and @JenniferRo28 fingers crossed for timely and positive updates!

@HavingFaith at not quite even 1dp5dt I am symptom spotting like a maniac 🤦‍♀️ unfortunately nothing really to spot - possibly some very mild cramping but I may well be imagining it. I'm off work so having a lazy day on the sofa, maybe a gentle walk later. I've not slept well since starting progesterone so a nap is also on the cards!

Hope everyone has a good day, good luck to those with scans and news!

JenniferRo28 · 17/09/2020 10:00

Thanks for everyone’s kind words, feeling slightly more positive today, just had my phone call and out of the 5 eggs, 3 have fertilised normally and the other 2 are showing partially fertilised. Does anyone have any experience of partially fertilised eggs, do they normally catch up or is it u likely? Won’t get another update until Saturday morning now so just need to somehow try and take my mind of it.

@ChicaXS fingers crossed you get good news this morning lovely 😊

And good luck to everyone else who is awaiting news, scans, EC’s or ET’s today xx

KassT · 17/09/2020 10:47

Morning everyone, hope you are all doing well.
Just been to my day 6 scan and was told I had only 3 follicles growing and I might might have anything to transfer....not what I hoped for obviously, but I've low amh so it doesn't surprise me.
May I ask how many follicles did you have on the day 6 scan? As it's my first I don't know what is normal?

poupou · 17/09/2020 10:56

Hello! Thanks for thinking of me @HavingFaith and @Eggling!
Had the scan (day 9 of 3x 2 mcg progynova. Its 6.8 mm unfortunately as i expected it! I also cried!!!! So embarrassing ! Its not terrible as usually scans are on day 11 but its not where it should be. I was hoping for 8 mm. They increased the progynova to 5 x 2 mcg (two of them vaginally!!!! Never done that) I asked her if it stays up there? and also patches! And having another scan on Monday! The Doctor also said to reduce exercising a lot (i walk to work around 20.000 steps) and doing yoga! But as i started thyroxine as well i lost a kilo in the last week (dont even know how) hence she doesnt want me to exercise at all! She seemed very hopeful as during stimulation my lining went to 10.5 but only after 14 days. At least its a three layer one! Have four more days to increase it!
I am so stressed i am not even sure if i ever get to the tww phase how i will deal! Well done to all of you!

Rumtopf · 17/09/2020 11:03

@JenniferRo28 we are in a similar position, 5 harvested, 3 fertilised normally and 2 partially which they have discounted. So, unless your clinic does things differently I'd focus on the 3 good fertilised eggs.

@Eggling have a lovely chilled day today.

@evey43 that's very irritating for you, hope they can book you in for another ECG soon and put your mind at ease. Great news on having your first scan date, that's exciting.

Just had a call from the embryologist, we've one good quality, one average and one poor. Transfer is scheduled on Saturday at 12 and she will call us saturday morning before we head in to update on grading so we can decide how many to put back and which.

Rumtopf · 17/09/2020 11:17

Sorry, cross posted with you @poupou I had to do the crushed up tablets vaginally too, that was a real treat.
Glad they're optimistic and triple layer is great. Hope you can take it easy and reduce the exercise right down.
