November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

Just checking back in - we made our transfer today! Finally. Started this cycle in September and just had loads of delays! Came home and had some kale in lunch in honour of my old triplet friend @SpyroC - March feels a long time ago! Now we wait, keep busy and distract ourselves with Christmas!

ivfjourney5 · 19/12/2020 08:18

@BonTon good luck if you decide to test this morning 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 xx

ivfjourney5 · 19/12/2020 08:24

@granddesigns woo congrats on being PUPO!

@Gardenlady543 it sounds like you had a good conversation with the consultant! Can you email over your remaining questions to get them answered as well?

@Lepatz great to hear you're looking towards the future now! I hope you can enjoy Christmas before you get back into it and have your consultation

BonTon · 19/12/2020 09:22

Congratulations on being pupo @granddesigns ! Welcome to the torturous two week wait 🤪 when is your OTD?

@ivfjourney5 I’m going to hold out until tomorrow, which is one day before OTD. Bleeding seems to have slowed down which is good 🤞🏻

BonTon · 19/12/2020 09:23

@ivfjourney5 how are you? When is your scan?

BonTon · 19/12/2020 09:24

@lepatz so glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better and hope the consultation goes well on 31st. Do you have a preference on what the next steps should be?

TheGlitterFairy · 19/12/2020 10:31

Good luck for tomorrow @BonTon 🤞🙏

BonTon · 19/12/2020 12:20

Thanks so much @TheGlitterFairy. How are you?

SpyroC · 19/12/2020 14:40

Good luck for tomorrow @BonTon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 hopefully the slight bleed was implantation! Also, as you say, the pessaries can cause it too. I'm hoping for implantation for you! I thought mine was the pessaries.

Congratulations on being pupo @granddesigns ! I'm glad this cycle went more smoothly for you. Tell me about it, 2020 has literally been covid and ivf! Fortunately it has been saved with pregnancy for me, here's hoping you get a 2020 bfp in too! 🤞🏻 ironically kale and pretty much anything else healthy is now off the menu 🤦🏻‍♀️ it's crazy how much my diet has been forced to change!

BonTon · 19/12/2020 17:15

I’ve just done a cheeky test following the dreadful news from Boris about cancelling Christmas... 2 years TTC, 3 rounds of clomid, 3 rounds of gonadotropins and 2 rounds of ivf... one big fat positive 😅

BonTon · 19/12/2020 17:16

Hoping and praying that it’s a sticky one 🙏🤞🏻

SpyroC · 19/12/2020 17:58

Congratulations @BonTon that's amazing news! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

ivfjourney5 · 19/12/2020 18:02

Woooooooooooooo 🎉🎉 @BonTon yesss

unknownscot · 19/12/2020 19:06

@BonTon congratulations!! Made me smile on a very low night. Over the moon for you x

BonTon · 19/12/2020 19:16

Thanks girls! Doesn’t quite feel real!

Lepatz · 19/12/2020 21:05

Woo boo @BonTon This is amazing news, so chuffed for you!!

granddesigns · 20/12/2020 08:16

Congratulations @BonTon! Really pleased to see this update having reawakened this thread (my 'where I should have been thread home' although the December/Jan ladies are wondered not may in 2ww yet!) Hoping all goes smoothly for you.

We are due to test NYEve - I guess we will know one way or the other this year and can either get dh to toast a bfp or I can help drown a bfn! Going to be a challenge being at home for the whole tww and off work and with access to hpt's - hopefully the non Christmas Christmas stuff will take over and we will get through!

Sorry to hear the pregnancy diet has kicked in @SpyroC - hopefully you got plenty goodness and kale in hand from your excess before! I'm being good for now and lots of veg etc although last time when the nausea kicked in I couldn't eat anything that had touched anything else or had too much flavour - dh threatened to get me one of those plates they have in primary school with a separate compartment for everything!

BonTon · 20/12/2020 09:28

Thanks so much @Lepatz. Shitty news about Christmas in London too. Hope you and your other half have plenty of food in! We’re about to run up to M&S to try and buy something!

Thanks @granddesigns. Keep us updated on your progress and so sorry to hear of your loss earlier this year. Absolutely heartbreaking xx

TheGlitterFairy · 20/12/2020 10:26

amazing news @BonTon!!! Congratulations!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Geep · 23/12/2020 17:58

Hey all.

I had my review call today and been told it'll be march at the earliest before i have my consent apt. Last time it was approx 6/7 weeks from consent apt to transfer. So could possibly be mid may before next transfer. I had thought i would be transferring again jan/feb so a bit gutted now.
Just wondering how long a wait yous had between cycles? I guess delays are inevitable wity covid etc

SpyroC · 23/12/2020 19:45

Hi @Geep I'm sorry they've given you such a wait! I have never had to wait at my clinic (I was in shock at the speed with my nhs funded round!) I do see others on here having to wait though, it must just depend on demand/amount of clinics in the area. I did have to wait a bit during lockdown due to the blanket closure so I just threw myself in to getting in to the best possible condition. On that occasion I felt the break actually benefited me. 3rd time around I just wanted to get on with it ASAP but I have to say my ovaries didn't respond as well (they'd probably had enough) but then again it worked 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Geep · 23/12/2020 21:59

Hi @SpyroC. The dr did say they like to give at least 3mths between cycles to let the ovaries recover. So hopefully the gap will allow everything to recover.
Regarding demand, im in northern ireland where i believe we have only 2 clinics so i guess demand will be high.

MGee123 · 24/12/2020 06:57

Hello everyone, sorry I've been a bit quiet!

Sorry your appt was a bit rushed @Gardenlady543. Hope you're feeling okay about the plan going forwards?

@Lepatz I hope you are okay and have continued being able to look forwards. Glad to hear you have a consultation booked.

Great news on your transfer @granddesigns ! Congrats! Hope NYE rolls round soon for you! How are you feeling?

Sorry you've got such a delay @Geep. That must be frustrating. I have heard some clinics advise a break in between. And with COVID, it's hard to plan anything nice to do to look forward to! Perhaps you can use those months to optimise lifestyle/diet etc (after a break over Christmas)!

All is okay here. We had our scan yesterday which showed an embryo measuring good for 7 weeks and heart beat pounding away. Keeping 🤞 for the 12 week scan now.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas. Thank you for the support on this thread these past few months, I've really valued it 🤗

Gardenlady543 · 24/12/2020 09:20

@MGee123 yeah, I’m happy that’s she’s ok to go ahead, but a bit worried about whether I’ll have a worse reaction to the progesterone though. Congrats on the scan.

@Geep my specialist likes there to be a natural bleed inbetween cycles, which annoyed me at the time as I heard some people go back to back with FET. But I’m tracking this natural cycle and it is not normal at all. I am using the clear blue fertility monitor, LH sticks and temperature monitoring. I had an oestrogen rise a day later than usual but no LH rise to date (today is day 18 and I’ve normally ovulated by day 15), the LH stick I used this morning is so so faint and my temperature is low so I definitely haven’t ovulated. I know cycles can be longer after a fresh cycle but it’s weird than my oestrogen rise was pretty much on time but no LH surge yet. Anyway, it’s probably a good thing I’m not having a FET this month and I can see why specialists like to give the body time to get back to normal.

Geep · 24/12/2020 21:26

@MGee123 glad to hear the scan went well.
@Gardenlady543 i was testing for ovulation this month and never got a positive. I thought i maybe hadnt tested enough and missed it, but wonder did i not ovulate. Hopefully the time between cycles will let my ovaries recover and hopefully make some more eggs this time round.
I started this year having a very early loss (which lasted weeks !!) and ending the year with an unsuccessful icsi attempt. So my whole year has been about fertility so trying to put it all to the back of my mind for the next while and just enjoy Christmas...not sure itll be possible but will try.
