November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@unknownscot I'm sorry your experiencing shoulder pain. My last cycle ended up being diagnosed as PUL (almost certainly ectopic but didn't show up on a scan to diagnose, my hcg never quite got to 1500). I didn't get the shoulder tip pain but did get 1 sided abdominal pain and the prune juice like blood at about 5-6 weeks. I am hoping this is just a coincidence for you and that the shoulder pain is unrelated. I suspected an ectopic from the get go so rang the on call Dr within an hour of getting a bfp but she just said not to worry and that if it was ectopic it was unlikely to cause harm that early on. I had to push to get taken seriously but there really isn't a lot they can do this early on. They might bring your beta hcg test forward as a bfp with a slow rise can be suggestive of an ectopic (in my case it was more than doubling as normal to begin with though). You were right to contact your clinic so that they can monitor you. Hopefully, they will take you seriously. 🙏🏻🤞🏻 it is nothing to worry about.

unknownscot · 04/12/2020 10:44

@Gardenlady543 thank you. Yeah I keep fleeting between thoughts. It's not ideal but will find out one way or another so just need to stay positively optimistic until then 🤞🏼✨ x

Lepatz · 04/12/2020 10:46

@MGee123 Congrats!!!! Amazing news, and agree the spotting sounds like implantation :D

@unknownscot sorry to hear about your pain - hopefully it's a false alarm - sounds like the chances of it being more are low. Agree there's no harm in getting it checked out though xx

unknownscot · 04/12/2020 10:46

@SpyroC Thank you so much. I'm really sorry to hear about your last cycle.
Yes, I thought they could maybe do bloods earlier. Don't know if they will. I will keep you informed though. Thanks again xx

Crossed posts

@unknownscot yes @Gardenlady543 has a good point there. From my reading the shoulder pain is generally a sign of a rupture and fortunately mine never got that far. @Gardenlady543 when I ended up in hospital at 6 weeks ish the consultants were certainly taking no chances. At 4 weeks there was much less concern.

Gardenlady543 · 04/12/2020 10:56

@SpyroC I think this is why the scan is done at around 6 weeks to check the IVF pregnancy is in the right location. The embryo is small and unlikely to rupture in the early days. I should say that I am nothing to do with obs and gynae though! But an ectopic is something every type of doctor needs to be aware of. I’ve never seen an ectopic while practicing and I’ve only ever seen shoulder tip pain once and it was someone who had a perforated bowel after an operation (so in the vast majority of cases shoulder pain is not related to abdominal issues). Hopefully the clinic will get in touch with @unknownscot soon and give some reassurance Smile

BambiOnIce80 · 04/12/2020 11:06

Thanks so much for sharing your slow embie experience with me @SpyroC - it's really helpful ❤️ Our embie hadn't fully expanded when they put it back in (said the very chatty embryologist and inadvertently started me worrying! 🤦🏻‍♀️), but she said she wasn't worried and she expected it to keep expanding whilst it was back in me. Based on this, I guess it can basically go either way 🔮 It's either not quite right and doomed to failure (after giving its best shot at implanting, thus the hCG) or it's a bit behind because it hadn't finished reexpanding when they put it back... it's going to be another long wait to find out 😣 I'm conscious of the possibility of an ectopic too, but I haven't had any pain/bleeding/shoulder tip pain yet, so I think I'm going to push it to the back of my mind for now.x

Sorry if all the cat chat has infiltrated your dreams @Lepatz! 😹 I hope you're not out yet 🤞 I'm actually now thinking could I have avoided all this limbo-ing if my OTD was at 16dp5dt, so your clinically are probably onto something there 😏 I don't normally get the fluttering/rumbling thing either (thus the googling!), so giving that happened at 6-7dp5dt I'm wondering if I have got a late implanter 🤔 Time will tell 🔮

It sounds like you've got a great clinic there @PineappleC 👍 Sounds like you've had some good suggestions on here too about things to try if you don't respond to the synthetic hormones - what would we do without each other?! 😊

Awww @ChicaXS, you're an absolute sweetheart! 🥰🥰🥰 Your story blows my mind - you went through so much 😔 It is nice to have a little bit of hope still, but I'm definitely well on the side of caution.x

Eeek @MGee123!! 🤩😍🤩😍 I'm absobloodylutely delighted for you!! 🥳🥳🥳 I also thought "hmmmm, your mum was right!" 😂🤣😂🤣 Brown/pink discharge definitely sounds more implantation-y than AF-y!

Hopefully the weird lower abdo pains/cramps are a good sign @Gardenlady543 🤞🤞🤞

Another vote for calling the clinic to be on the safe side here @unknownscot ❎ Just wanted to say that I got weird shoulder tip pain a few days before ET, so absolutely no chance of it being pregnancy/ectopic related because we haven't had sex for about 2 months! 😳 I think I was sleeping so badly that I'd probably slept in a funny position, so I hope it's something similar for you 🤞

@ChicaXS Thank you for sharing your story. So sad to hear that you had to terminate - absolutely heartbreaking. I have everything crossed for a happy and peaceful pregnancy for you now xxx

unknownscot · 04/12/2020 11:34

Thanks to everyone - the clinic called back and don't seem concerned. They did however advise me to call back if the pain continues now I've taken paracetamol.

I guess I like reassurance from the clinic as I really do think it will be nothing & I'm convinced the shoulder pain is from sleeping/laying on the couch funny as @BambiOnIce80 said.

🤞🏼

X

Gardenlady543 · 04/12/2020 11:38

A very good point @BambiOnIce80 never underestimate the impact of a bad nights sleep!! In this process I think we’re all hypervigilant to everything!

MGee123 · 04/12/2020 12:56

@unknownscot I'm sorry your in pain 😢 hopefully it is something unrelated, as you said. It's good the clinic weren't too worried. Hope the paracetamol helps soon. You could try a heat pack or something on your shoulder, might be soothing?

@ChicaXS I'm so sorry - in my morning panic I missed your story. I can't imagine the pain you must have gone through, and am now even more happy you have had a positive result this time round. Everything crossed for a happy and healthy pregnancy 🤞

Hope you're keeping sane @BambiOnIce80 you've got such a great attitude, I really hope this goes in the right direction for you 🤗

ChicaXS · 04/12/2020 16:06

@MGee123 @Lepatz @BambiOnIce80 thank you ladies xxx

@unknownscot how you feeling this afternoon? X

unknownscot · 04/12/2020 16:09

@ChicaXS the paracetamol has certainly helped which is great news. Not too concerned now 🤞🏼 thanks for asking xx

Gardenlady543 · 04/12/2020 16:20

I just went to the bathroom and I have pink discharge and a very small red clot, so now I’m stuck waiting and hoping that this is implantation spotting and that it doesn’t develop into a period, my weird pelvic twinges have been ongoing for about 24 hours now and they aren’t what I’d normally get in a period, they’re lower down and have been on close to both ovaries, my period cramps are higher in the abdomen, so I’m so hoping this is implantation. I’m on 8dp5dt, is this the time a period would come if it was coming?!

ImHopeful · 04/12/2020 16:54

@Gardenlady543 i dont mean to imply anything, everyone is different. But i had pink/brown discharges around day 8 along with tiny clots, also terrible pelvic pain.
My doctor told me that i shouldve called the clinic when i noticed it so they could increase the progesterone.

Gardenlady543 · 04/12/2020 17:05

@ImHopeful thanks, I just gave the clinic a quick call, since I don’t want to be stuck all weekend not being able to call them. The nurse was fairly positive, she said the embryo can implant at any time up until OTD and that she doesn’t think it’s a period. She said keep taking the progesterone over the weekend even if it turns into a full on bleed and call the clinic on Monday to update them. I guess I have to wait now 🙏 that this is a good sign since these twinges are weird, she did say that as it’s a fresh cycle my body isn’t it’s normal self, but I don’t get why I’d suddenly get lower pelvic pain 8 days after the transfer.

ImHopeful · 04/12/2020 17:09

@Gardenlady543 thats reassuring 🙂hopefully its implantation bleeding, 🤞and 🙌 for you.

Gardenlady543 · 04/12/2020 17:12

@ImHopeful I hope this all a good sign, I just called my husband and told him I’m on sofa rest and he’s to come home right now and sort the dogs out!!

BambiOnIce80 · 05/12/2020 11:00

Morning ladies 👋 How are we all on this rainy Saturday? ☔

Has the pain stopped with the paracetamol @unknownscot? I hope it has 🤞

That bleed and clot sounded scary @Gardenlady543 😔 I hope it's stopped today?

I'm just about managing to keep sane, thanks @MGee123 🤪 I kind of met most of you ladies suggestions part way and pee'd on an IC OPK yesterday morning and intend to do the same tomorrow to see if the line is worse, better or indifferent 🙈 My POAS phobia is limited to HPT's and doesn't extend to OPKs, which hCG cross-reacts with and can be used to at least see if the line is getting lighter or not 😬 I'm not holding out much hope, but my boobs are heavy and I've been tired and getting slight food aversions, so there must be some hCG floating about in my system still 🤔 We'll see 🔮 How are things with you after your BFP? Has it sunk in yet? More importantly, did your mum give you an "I told you so"?! 😉

unknownscot · 05/12/2020 11:05

@BambiOnIce80
Yes, the pain has stopped.
I very stupidly took a FRER this morning which was negative. It's put me in a foul mood but trying to think it may just be a false negative. Doubtful, but need to think positive to keep my mental health up!
Will find out on Monday afternoon either way.

How are you doing? X

BambiOnIce80 · 05/12/2020 11:10

That's a relief that the pain has stopped @unknownscot 😪 Are you 7dp5dt today? That would still be very early on a urine test, so don't lose hope just yet 💐

I'm OK - trying to keep distracted! Was planning on going for a walk and getting some lunch whilst we were out, but the rain is putting us off 😏☔

Gardenlady543 · 05/12/2020 11:10

@BambiOnIce80 so there was only one tiny tiny little bit of red (which I saw as a small clot) otherwise it was pink. It started yesterday just after 4pm after I’d been experiencing weird pains for about 24 hours, the night before I had trouble sleeping as the pain was in my pelvis and lower back. I think there may have been some time yesterday evening where the discharge went to a normal colour, but when I wiped before bed it was pink again. It’s been ongoing since I got up this morning, interestingly I put a panty liner in yesterday and its stayed completely clean, so it’s only on wiping. I’m hoping it is implantation related if it was a period I assume it would be more of a flow and more red by now. I’m trying to stay hopeful, if it is implantation then I may not get a positive for 4-5 days, so I wasn’t that shocked when I saw today’s FRER was negative. The clinic’s opinion seemed to be that I still have until Wednesday for OTD to come and that they didn’t think it was a period. But I suppose having gone through a fresh cycle my body really could be going through anything.

unknownscot · 05/12/2020 11:14

@BambiOnIce80 I'm 9dp5dt so still early which I'm trying to drum into my head.
I stupidly tested and knew I shouldn't have!

Aw, it's dry where we are so gonna head for a walk. Hope it clears up for you to get some fresh air xx

Gardenlady543 · 05/12/2020 11:17

@unknownscot we are the same day post transfer, I don’t think we’re out yet even with our negative FRERs this morning. Did you say you have a blood test booked to check on Monday? I have to keep doing urine tests up until Wednesday, I think I’m going to invest in more FRERs.

unknownscot · 05/12/2020 11:22

@Gardenlady543 Yes, Monday for my bloods. I'd strongly advise against buying more HPT. Obviously your decision, but I think it just fucks with your head even more! I really regret testing this morning. X
