November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@BambiOnIce80 good luck for tomorrow! I hope it doesn't take too long for the clinic to phone you with the result x

Melissa1983 · 03/12/2020 08:38

Good luck for today @BambiOnIce80 I'll be thinking of you 🤞🏽xxx

Gardenlady543 · 03/12/2020 08:50

I’m now 7dp5dt, I caved in and used a FRER And as usual there was absolutely no extra line visible. Having produced such a high number of high quality blasts and with my husband having high numbers in his sperm count, alongside knowing we hit the right days every month when trying naturally (as I was using three forms of monitoring).

... I am thinking that the issue is implantation failure. I have never had a positive pregnancy test ever, I’m not sure why I suddenly thought I’d get one with IVF. There’s no lifestyle changes that would improve the situation, as I’ve always eaten super healthily, I never drink alcohol, caffeine and I’ve never smoked, I exercise regularly, I’m a normal weight, in a workplace medical I was told I had the youngest metabolic age the nurse had ever seen.

I know I’m still early for my OTD but apparently in fresh cycles implantation happens within around 1-2 days, I just can’t see a BFP appearing in this cycle, and I’m worried I’m now faced with using each of the frozen blasts only to experience the same disappointment.

BambiOnIce80 · 03/12/2020 08:52

Good luck with your bloods today @PineappleC 🍀 I hope you've managed to get prepped for your two days of vegging 🧘‍♀️

Stay strong @unknownscot - nearly there! 💪💪💪

It is unbelievablely hard @ImHopeful 💙 I wasn't really prepared for how much trial and error is involved in clinics trying to get it right for each and everyone of us. Hopefully yours have learnt from this cycle or another clinic can identify which changes can be made for you going forward 🍀

Thanks for the good luck shouts @SpyroC @MGee123 @ivfjourney5 @Melissa1983 😊 DP and I had a lovely walk/lunch yesterday and a really good chat about how we're feeling about the looming result. But it wasn't all we talked about and now I feel we've really turned a corner in order to feel OK about a BFN today.

So 9dp5dt and the bloods have been taken 💉 I've to call at 12.30 for the result. I'll let you know how it pans out 🔮

Good luck with the beta today @BambiOnIce80 - got everything crossed for you xxx

(I'll reply to everyone else later, work is full on atm. I really appreciated all the kind words yesterday :) x

unknownscot · 03/12/2020 09:39

@BambiOnIce80 I have everything crossed for you! 🤞🏼 x

Gardenlady543 · 03/12/2020 09:56

@BambiOnIce80 good luck 🍀 let us know how you get on!

PineappleC · 03/12/2020 11:52

Bad news for me today. My FET has been cancelled due to low oestrogen. Devastated. Feel like I have lost all hope now because the previous medicated cycle didn't work for me, and now natural clearly isn't suitable, so I don't know where to go from here. They're suggesting a medicated cycle next month, and I just can't see that working when I don't absorb the synthetic hormones.

I'll still check in and see how you're all doing, but that's me out. Good luck to everyone, I really hope you get BFPs 😊xx

TheGlitterFairy · 03/12/2020 11:53

@wishing you luck today @BambiOnIce80 x

TheGlitterFairy · 03/12/2020 12:01

@PineappleC so sorry to hear that it's been cancelled just now - what a kick in the teeth that is. I can't recall what you'd said about previous medicated cycles - may be worth trying in the new year just to rule it out again if nothing else. Maybe try and take some time over the next month to regroup and see how you feel about it and book an appt with your consultant to have a full debrief on it all. As others have said I think the vast majority of IVF is trial and error - which isn't helpful when on the receiving end for sure.
Sending you strength x

Gardenlady543 · 03/12/2020 12:13

@PineappleC sending you lots of hugs, completely agree with @TheGlitterFairy ‘s comments, I guess we go into IVF and see it as this fresh option having not been able to conceive naturally and just hope everything works out, but there are just so many bumps in the road and the lows are such real lows. I hope everyone that has a blip in this cycle can regroup so we can support each other on the next stage of the journey.

BonTon · 03/12/2020 12:31

Eurgh gosh, lots of bad news over the last day or so. Sorry @PineappleC, @Gardenlady543 and @ImHopeful... it’s just so shit it really is xxxx

BambiOnIce80 · 03/12/2020 13:11

Ach, I'm so sorry @PineappleC 😔 That's a horrible twist to your natural cycle 😔 Are they going to give you a consultation to go through next steps? I really hope they can give you a comprehensive plan and soon.x

Sorry I missed your 7dp5dt test @Gardenlady543 - that's still very early, so try not to count yourself out just yet. Hopefully you'll get a nice surprise on OTD 🍀🤞🍀🤞

Thanks again for the good luck shouts ladies 💖 Bit of a strange one here - my hCG is 35 IU, so not negative and not convincingly positive either (on my fresh cycle it was 135 IU)... I was ready for a negative, but not a 'kind of positive'! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've got to go back this time next week to have bloods taken again and see if it's got up past 280 IU (ie. whether it's doubling every 48 hours kind of thing)... so more waiting at my end 🙄 For my own sanity I'm going to treat it as a failed cycle - like the embie has given it a go and hasn't quite managed it. If it turns out any other way than that then it's a bonus 🔮

OP posts:
unknownscot · 03/12/2020 13:16

@BambiOnIce80 Thats not ideal that they aren't convinced. Is there now way you could go back in less time, another week is such a long wait again.
I've everything crossed that this little fighter is just a bit slow. 🤞🏼 xx

BonTon · 03/12/2020 13:16

Gosh, a plot twist @BambiOnIce80. Did the nurses give any advice on that result? Have you taken a urine pregnancy test to see how it looks? I hope it’s a slow burner and it all works out for you xxxx

Gardenlady543 · 03/12/2020 13:31

@BambiOnIce80 I think that’s more positive than a definite no! it may be that you have a late implanter and the levels haven’t increased up yet. They either go up (If you’ve got a successful pregnancy) or down (If it started to go the right way and then failed). I agree with @unknownscot bringing the test forward to say two days time should hopefully give accurate information on if the numbers are going up or down. I know my 6 day wait until OTD is going to be a nightmare, so can imagine 7 days of not knowing will be difficult.

Thankyou for the confidence boost by the way with my BFN this morning, I am super tearful today! Every possible future option is now running through my head. Why is this journey such a rollercoaster!!

BambiOnIce80 · 03/12/2020 13:38

Thank you @unknownscot @BonTon @Gardenlady543 ❤️ The nurse was actually pretty positive and said it was close to the 50 IU that they would be treating as positive, but I think she was just a bit surprised by how pragmatic I was being! 😂 I guess it could be because it's a bit of a slow frostie (which is what the nurse said it could be), but my inner realistic optimist thinks it's just not quite making it. The nurse was telling me that they get ladies with hCG levels in the 'grey zone' that go on to have healthy pregnancies/babies, but I kind of think she's just being nice and blowing smoke up my 🍑!

I'm actually pretty happy to go back in a weeks time @unknownscot and @Gardenlady543 because I think it'll give us a clearer picture of what's going on 🤞 If I went back in 48 hours and it'd nearly doubled but not quite, we'd have to just keep going back anyway so I'd rather leave it as it is. I know I'm a weirdo! 😂

No, I've not done a home test @BonTon - my phobia of seeing yet another bloody blank test staring back at me won't let me! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I might put my big girl pants on next Wednesday morning to see if there's nothing (or something 🤔) there in preparation for getting my head straight for Thursday, but we'll see what the week brings (won't be any point if AF starts!). How are things going with you?x

ChicaXS · 03/12/2020 13:46

@PineappleC I’m really sorry to hear your news! :( can they start you off straight away on another FET for next month and up you estrogen dose? That’s so frustrating and I’m sorry!

@BambiOnIce80 I would be hopeful! I’m surprised your clinic is being conservative at 35, but in my last pregnancy I had 9 and they got me in 48 hours later and it kept doubling. 1 week is excessive but I would start doing FRER every morning (Fmu) and look for a darker line. But I’m reservedly happy for you in a way - there’s hope then NO HOPE so better news?!

I’m sorry for everyone else that has recieved bad news, think it’s been a crappy week for us on this thread, stay strong and focused x

TheGlitterFairy · 03/12/2020 13:48

@BambiOnIce80 goodness. Hmmmm - but according to various hcg charts, you are pg and at 3 weeks. Would that be about right given the dating of the embryo? I think anything less than 5 means you're out.
Agree on a week being a long time to wait - would they allow you to go on Monday/ Tuesday which should be enough time to see a rise?
I have everything crossed for you!! x

BonTon · 03/12/2020 14:30

I’m ok thanks @BambiOnIce80... have been much better at distracting myself this time round although the worry is starting to creep in of what we will do if it’s another BFN! Trying to take it one step at a time and concentrate on getting to transfer on Monday x

BambiOnIce80 · 03/12/2020 17:01

Thank you @ChicaXS 💖 I hope I'm not being insensitive in asking, but was that your pregnancy that went on to 14 weeks? If so, that gives me far more hope than I thought I'd got in the situation I've found myself in (and I can't thank you enough for that, honestly 💖).

Thanks for checking the chart for me @TheGlitterFairy ✨🧚‍♂️ I think I should be 4+0 today, so if I'm 3 weeks by the chart then maybe things won't progress or it implanted late because it's a frostie 🤔 I've called the clinic to rearrange the bloods for Wednesday because I realised I wouldn't have enough utrogestan to make it past then, so hopefully I'll get some kind of answer then 🔮

I think taking everything one step at a time is very wise @BonTon (and I'll be joining you by doing that!). Not long at all now until Monday 🍀

Good luck for tomorrow @MGee123 and anybody else who is testing then 🍀🍀🍀

Checking back in and trying to scan through all the updates as it's been a while ladies! Congrats to those who have had successful outcomes including my old triplet friend @SpyroC.

Sorry to those of you that have found this not to be the cycle or who have had things cancelled - been there and share your frustrations. Wishing you patience, acceptance, lots of gin/wine/chocolate when you can etc and luck for next steps.

Thought I'd just check back in to update that we are finally moving again. After the worlds longest broken cycle and waiting just 'another week', scans etc they induced a bleed with provera which arrived yesterday. We are now on day 2 of fyremedel (stingy one!) and oestrogen tabs and have a transfer booked in just before Christmas. Have tentatively jumped on the December January bus but have been watching progress on here so thought I'd update - also realised just how many ivf threads I've been on this year and hoping that we at least get an embryo on board before the years out.

SpyroC · 03/12/2020 18:43

I'm so sorry @PineappleC everything was sounding so positive yesterday so that must've come as a shock today. 😔 I hope they can sort it out for your next cycle.I was always envious of those who have embryos to freeze but fets are definitely not as straightforward as they seemX

I'm sorry you're in limbo @BambiOnIce80 this happened to me in my last cycle (well similar, full period and very faint bfp on a 25miu test but a clear bfp on a frer, I was suspicious of an ectopic straight away). The limbo is really tough, like you I'd accepted something wasn't right but I did like having hope and briefly having that bfp. Frosties are known to implant slower too. What was the embryo like? (mine was slow at transfer then too). If you want to you will be able to track progression on a 25iu test (I tested daily and the progression was clear every couple of days and I stopped when my hcg reached 1000+) FRERS detect at 6miu so if you just want to see a strong positive that will do it! I can also completely understand not testing at all-do what is right for you. I genuinely think your situation sounds more hopeful than mine did. I did A LOT of old threading and it certainly happens, the hcg just needs to double. I will continue to have everything crossed for you. Xx🤞🏻🙏🏻

SpyroC · 03/12/2020 18:48

I'm sorry @Gardenlady543 hopefully it was just a bit too early. 🤞🏻

Nice to hear from you @granddesigns and thank you! I know what you mean about the threads. Let's hope I stay off and that your next cycle goes smoothly and allows you to move on too. 2020 has literally been ivf and corona! I hope our other triplet is doing well. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 you get one on board before 2020 is over. X

@MGee123 best of luck for tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. Xx

Good luck to anyone I've missed who is testing too!

We are due some more good news surely! X

Lepatz · 03/12/2020 19:01

Afternoon ladies, lots to catch up on :)

Thanks for all your messages yesterday re my day 9 BFN. I do think I’m probably definitely out… but am allowing a flicker of maybe in the meantime :) My symptoms feel back in force today - dizzy, booby, and tired. Crazy dreams last night too. I had to help my kitten-cat give birth to a single kitten! (In my dream I’d forgotten to spay her - IRL I have!) I think it was somehow prompted by the cat chat on here ;D.

Anyway, I suspect that all means the progesterone is building up, rather than indicating anything more positive. I’m fairly sure 9dp BFNs don’t often turn into babies :(

Congrats for being PUPO @ivfjourney5 ! Such a journey to get here - enjoy it as much as you can!

Great news on the follicle @Melissa1983 What a palaver!!

Hope you’re doing @Geep, thinking about you. And totally agree it’s still so positive to hear about others wins. It gives me hope, and I’m so pleased whenever I hear about anyone who suffers from infertility to be making progress xx

@BonTon - hope you’re getting on ok with the progesterone! It does seem to make me slightly crazy from time to time!! Heh - we were just talking about going to the De Beauvoir Arms for dinner when it makes sense to do so! xx

@BambiOnIce80 The fluttery feelings are quite light, it’s not something I get during my cycle - but I did get them when I had my non IVF BFP (miscarriage) three years ago, and also in my fresh cycle briefly. Oh I just got to your news about hCG - sorry it wasn’t more postitively conclusive. But it’s still positive and hopefully just a late bloomer. I have everything crossed for your little fighter!! Wow, a week to wait is pretty rotten though - you do seem to be demonstrating high pragmatism - I'd be peeing on all the sticks!! xx

@GardenLady543 I have been wearing an Oura ring for a year or so. It’s not fertility focussed, but gives some interesting measurements, and I can see how different meds impact my heart rate etc! I don’t know what’s next for me. I have one FET left. But thinking about doing a whole new fresh cycle. With all the add ons :) I’m not sure how much OH has left in him tbh. He’s older, and has two kids already - so he doesn’t have the same deep need. I willl be able to adjust and get on with my life if it never happens - but feel like I have more energy to try. I just got to your message about the BFN - I’m so sorry to hear that. 7dp is still early though - give it another couple of days and try again? Btw, I read about an ERA test that can help reduce implantation failures by genetically timing transfer. Also things like a hysteroscopy can help, os can a lining scratch. I was researching it last night - as this is my second transfer with no second line :(((

Oh @ImHopeful I’m so so sorry to hear this. So much bad news this week. How are you feeling today?

@MGee123 Thanks for the thought - I was up and down all day yesterday… and treated myself to a small glass of wine last night (!) Just the one though, just in case :) I didn’t work yesterday, but been struggling today. A bit overwhelmed with everything. Hope you’re well - good luck with OTD tomorrow!! xx

@PineappleC I’m so sorry to hear this - how utterly horrible. Wishing you luck in your next steps. It was for a different purpose, but I my OH had some hormone treatment with bio-identical hormones - which I think are grown instead of synthesised. I have no idea if they would be different for you, but could be worth exploring xx
