November IVF/FET

BambiOnIce80 · 04/09/2020 08:07

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

I'm so sorry @Geep 😔. Please take care of yourself. I had a full period before otd with my last crazy cycle. I felt the embryo didn't have enough time to implant. They upped my progesterone (again) for this cycle. I really do not understand why all clinics don't just check it at et. XThanks

Geep · 01/12/2020 19:35

Thank you everyone. Being part of the group really has helped. Ive accepted ot now and hey, at least i can enjoy a few gins over Christmas Smile yeah, im guessing that the fact that my period came when it was due means not enough progesterone. I havent had bloods taken once during this all - but maybe next time they will to keep a closer eye on things.
I had thought i wouldn't want to continue to hear about other peoples journey as it would highlight my failure, but its the exact opposite. Hearing about all your transfers and postive symptons really does make me smile. I see a win for someone else stuggling as a win for us all. So good luck ladies.

ivfjourney5 · 01/12/2020 20:03

@Geep I'm so sorry 😢 Look after yourself 💐 You sound like you've got a good mentality and will come back fighting 💪🏼

@Gardenlady543 5dp is very early! You are most definitely not out of the running, hang in there! Have you managed to warm up a bit now?

@Lepatz such a good idea to order the tests for a certain day so that you don't test early. The possible implantation bleed sounds like a really good sign!! 🤞🏼 I hope work went okay?

@BambiOnIce80 I'll be using my cats as symptom spotters as well 😂 Perhaps he can feel the uterus grumbles and it's throwing him off the scent, try not to be deflated yet! Don't forget that progesterone often feels like AF is on the way. You've still got a chance yet, don't count yourself out too early

@Melissa1983 woo to the follicle still being there and that you won't fall on a Sunday! 🤞🏼 for good news tomorrow

@PineappleC how has your appointment gone today? Sorry if you've already said and I've missed an update

@unknownscot yes the fact I finally got my transfer is definitely the most important, I just had my pull my big girl pants up and get on with it 😂 OTD is 12th and DH will be at home with me 🥰 Mine is just a home test, my clinic don't even give me a test either! Will your DP be home for your test day?

@ChicaXS thanks so much 🥰 OTD is the 12th and DH will be home to support me! How are you feeling at the moment?

@all Thanks for everyone's wise words earlier and the congrats on PUPO. The frustration was because the last I heard was that partners were allowed in, and they changed the policy recently but didn't tell me! I to totally understand why they've changed it and I agree with their reasoning, it was the fact that they didn't communicate it with me. If I had known in advance I would have been a lot more chilled 😂

BambiOnIce80 · 01/12/2020 20:20

It is indeed stressful making that phone call @Gardenlady543 - I learnt that from my fresh cycle. I think I'm just accepting that it's likely a BFN and then take it from there. I'll be asking if they can put me on the waiting list for another FET and how far away that is (I think it's about a 5 month wait at my clinic, but I want to hear it straight from the horses mouth).

Thank you @SpyroC ❤️ Was discussing whether to test tomorrow with DP and we've come to the conclusion that we'd find it just as stressful getting a BFN tomorrow and then having to continue with the progynova/progesterone (just in case 🙄) and still go for the blood test anyway... so we may as well just wait for the blood test 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I might just go for a run after the phone call if it's a BFN, just to clear away the cobwebs 🏃🏻‍♀️ And there's a very good chance there'll be a double electric spirit company and tonic in the evening too! 🍸😄

A few gins over Christmas is a definite plus @Geep! I didn't realise what a trial and error process IVF was until I was in amongst it, so I'm sure your clinic will have a different progesterone plan in place for you next time. And I'm the same about being so happy when one of our guys gets a BFP - it's definitely a win for all of us 💖

I hate it when they move the goal posts on us @ivfjourney5! Happens far more than it should! At least you're in the pupo bubble now and I'm keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞 Maybe that's exactly what's throwing my cat off! 😹 My uterus is doing the weird grumbling this evening too - it really is a strange thing 🤔 I kind of feel like the progesterone is just artificially keeping AF away and it'll kick in as soon as I stop taking it... but we'll see 🔮

@geep so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself over Xmas and all the best for the next steps💐

@ivfjourney5 that's great news and must be such a relief! Glad you listened to your body. I totally agree with that and although I trust my new clinic I have been keeping an eye on myself too! Good luck for the 2WW
Hope to join you soon!

@Lepatz thank you 😊 And thank you for the survey, I did it earlier today. Really hope it's implantation bleeding for you 🤞

@melissa1983 that's great news! There just seems to be such a range in peaks and also the time from peak to egg release. It would actually be pretty interesting if it wasn't so stressful 😅 Hope you see the collapsed follicle tomorrow for a Monday transfer 🤞

No real update from me today. It's the first day since Thurs that I haven't had blood tests. Very glad that I stayed in London though as I still had to go to the clinic to pick up a prescription for Clexane. The other option was them faxing to me (but I haven't seen a fax machine this century so 🤷‍♀️). Anyway, I'm now on Clexane in the evening and aspirin in the mornings. I guess it would be weird if IVF didn't involve some sort of injections. They do sting slightly but the needle is tiny so it's all fine. Next bloods are tomorrow. They are now just looking for a steady rise in progesterone and, all being well, transfer will be sometime between Fri and Sun I guess. I think I'll relax tomorrow of they confirm that progesterone is rising well 🤞🤞

MGee123 · 01/12/2020 22:00

Wow a lot happened in 24 hours!

@Geep I'm so sorry. Nothing can make it better but hopefully they will adjust things for your next cycle. You've definitely earned more than a few G&Ts!

@Gardenlady543 5dpt is really early - don't lose hope yet 🤞 not testing is so hard isn't it. I nearly caved today at 8dpt 🙈 even picked up the test box! My clinic advised testing 16 dp egg collection so 11 dp transfer 🤷‍♀️

Glad your spotting has stopped @Lepatz, 🤞 it's a positive sign!

And glad you're feeling a bit better today @BambiOnIce80 👍 such an up and down experience. 1 day at a time I think!

Congrats @ivfjourney5 ! Glad the transfer happened and all was looking good, but sorry to hear about your poor husband. I think they let partners in for transfers where we are - weird how varied it all is!

Good news @Melissa1983 ! Fingers crossed you ovulate soon. The Clearblue test was rather enthusiastic!

I am certain this round hasn't worked for us - I've got lower back ache just like I do pre-AF and my boobs are less sore and I generally fell less symptom-y today (not sure how else to describe it)! I wouldn't be surprised if AF shows up before OTD on Friday! I think testing will just be a formality at the end of the week. I am carrying on the progesterone but am looking forward to stopping! 24 hours mulling it over and I'm actually feeling fine about it - looking forward to stopping the drugs, relaxing over Christmas and then starting again in the new year! And really looking forward to going for a long run on Friday! 🏃‍♀️😊

MGee123 · 01/12/2020 22:02

And I agree re the BFPs of others on this thread - genuinely delighted for those who have them so far, and look forward to hearing of a few more in the coming weeks! It's brilliant having you ladies to talk to, I am so grateful for the support 🥰

BonTon · 02/12/2020 09:22

Morning all!

I’ve just joined the club with all the progesterone medication starting today. It’s a good job I’m working from home full time as god knows how I’d get it all done! Hats off to you girls who are still having to commute etc with all this!

@MGee123 you just never know I don’t think. The cramping could be a good sign. I really hope so. I am rooting for you on Friday morning.

@Melissa1983 - hopefully they see a collapsed follicle today 🤞🏻 How strange that the peak was so long ago... I’m sure our bodies play tricks on us when we’re waiting for something in this process!

@PineappleC good luck for your bloods today. Staying in London sounds much better... what a commute to the clinic otherwise!

@ivfjourney5 you sound really positive which is brilliant (other than the rant about your husband not being allowed in 😂... how annoying they gave you the wrong info). Excellent news that the lining looks good as well, sounds like you did the right thing 👍🏻👍🏻

@Lepatz we are practically neighbours! The Rosemary branch is a lovely pub... we’re closer to the De Beauvoir Arms the other end. Your survey also is on my list for today! As others have said, hopefully the spotting is a positive sign for you.

@Geep that’s a lovely message, thanks. Enjoy Christmas with your 4 year old... they must be so excited at that age!

@BambiOnIce80, less than 24 hours to go. I didn’t realise it was a blood test ... god that’s torture and quite horrible for the nurses having to deliver bad news as well. I’m so hopeful for you that it will be positive and I hope you’re feeling more positive today xx

Sending happy vibes to anyone I’ve missed xx

Lepatz · 02/12/2020 09:48

Well ladies - looks like I'm the second out on the thread.

Last night I felt a bit different - the fluttery feelings in my uterus weren't there, or hardly at all. No night sweats last night. Then boobs felt less painful this morning. My temp had been increasing since Sunday - but that stopped rising last night too, and my HVR/heart rate were back to pre-transfer levels overnight.

So I did a frer test today (9dp5dt), instead of waiting til tomorrow as planned - BFN :((. I suspect it was a late implanter which didn't stick.

Feeling pretty gutted, and unsure about next steps. This process sucks.

BonTon · 02/12/2020 10:02

So sorry @Lepatz. I know when I tested at 11dpt last time and it was a BFN, the clinic did say to hold on as (although unlikely) there is a chance and you’re two days earlier than that. I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. Hope you’re ok xxxxx and you’re right, it absolutely sucks ❤️

BambiOnIce80 · 02/12/2020 10:41

Ach, I'm so sorry @Lepatz 😢 I take it you have to wait until your OTD and do another one? I wonder if your fluttery feeling and my grumble are a similar thing?! I ended up going on Dr Google last night (I know, I know! 🤦🏻‍♀️) and it turns out that a 'rumbling uterus' is a thing 🙄 It's apparently when the uterus is in spasm, usually during menstruation. In my case, I think my body is trying to kick off AF because it's a BFN, but can't because of the progesterone keeping it at bay 😔 Infertility is so bloody hard!

Excellent news that you're starting on the progesterone @BonTon 👍 I have to say that working from home did make things an awful lot easier logistically this time. Don't think I'll be able to swing it post-covid vaccine though 😏 I'm very jealous of anyone who gets to WFH all the time!

Right. DP has a day off, so we're going to go for a nice walk in our city and try and take our minds off of tomorrow. Even though I'm very sure it's going to be a BFN, it's still not going to be pleasant to hear 😣 I keep reminding myself that we're no worse off than we were before and we have a happy little life as things are... and repeat! 😉

@Lepatzim sorry to hear that, it sounds like you’ve been doing loads of monitoring. It’s amazing how much we realised about our bodies though fertility monitoring. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for you, just in case. Do you have a plan in place for after this if it does end up to be a no? FET/another cycle etc?

Sorry tagged the wrong person, that was meant for @Lepatz

PineappleC · 02/12/2020 17:25

@Lepatz so sorry to hear that. Take good care of yourself and I will still hold out s little bit of hope for you too 😊

Well this is an odd one, but my clinic phoned earlier today. My progesterone has risen a lot over the past couple of days and they are now aiming for transfer tomorrow or Friday. Feel a bit underprepared as I was expecting sometime between Fri and Sun, and I won't actually know until tomorrow mornings blood test results either way. Hate not knowing! Trying to relax now and get ready for 2 days of vegging. I am also now taking Lubion to boost natural progesterone so i feel well and truly IVF-ish now!!

Gardenlady543 · 02/12/2020 18:04

@PineappleC that’s all good news!! It reminds me of planning my EC for day 18 of the cycle (as they told me) booking time off work etc and then them bringing it forward to day 11! So good to get things going though! You’ll be in the PUPO club soon!

unknownscot · 02/12/2020 18:39

6 days down. 5 days to go.
This wait is so difficult though! 🙈

ImHopeful · 02/12/2020 18:42

Evening strong ladies,
I wasnt able to check the thread over the last few days because AF arrived, i didnt even get to OTD and i was so devestated that i couldnt do anything but cry.
@Geep sorry about the news. 🤞for the next time, if you're planning to go for it.
@Lepatz i really hope that it works for you, there is still a chance.
Honestly its so painful that i really wish it doesnt happen to anyone else in this thread.
Im praying for all of you to get your BFP. Especially you @ivfjourney5 because i know its your 5th time 🙂

Geep · 02/12/2020 19:16

@ImHopeful so sorry to hear your news. Like you i didnt make it to OTD either (AF arrived right when she was meant to). Tomorrow's my OTD so i have to test and update the clinic. Just an added reminder that it didnt work. Do you have a plan in place for what happens next?
@Lepatz hope you're doing ok. Keeping everything crossed, just incase.

unknownscot · 02/12/2020 19:23

@ImHopeful I'm so sorry to hear that. X

Gardenlady543 · 02/12/2020 19:33

@ImHopeful Really sorry to hear your news :( I didn’t realise AF could come while still on progesterone, I’ve now gone from hoping for some spotting discharge to hoping it stays white.

SpyroC · 02/12/2020 19:35

@BambiOnIce80 a head clearing bfn run sounds good but I have everything crossed that you don't need it! Good luck for tomorrow. Xx

I'm so sorry @Lepatz please take care of yourself

@PineappleC ooo that's exciting! Welcome to stingy sting lubion club! I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

I'm sorry @ImHopeful It is definitely a grieving process. My af came early for my first 2 cycles so each time They've upped the progesterone. I will never know if the much higher dose this time has made a difference as I e changed a few things each time. I wish they would monitor progesterone levels!

MGee123 · 02/12/2020 20:00

So sorry @Lepatz. How are you feeling this evening? This process does suck. So many ups and downs before even getting to the final hurdle. It's such an emotional challenge. Hope you can have a quiet evening, eat and drink what you want and take some time for yourself.

Hope you enjoyed your walk @BambiOnIce80 ? 🤞 for you for tomorrow

That's exciting @PineappleC! So you will hear tomorrow for definite? Great to get it in before the weekend, then hopefully you can have some R&R to let the embryo settle in?!

Hold on @unknownscot, one day at a time. OTD will come round!

@ImHopeful I'm so sorry, that must have been so upsetting. Do you have a plan going forwards? Hopefully they might make some adjustments for your next cycle.

🤞 for anyone else who has OTD tomorrow (apologies, I'm losing track)!

ImHopeful · 02/12/2020 20:23

Thank you all, its really nice to be part of this thread and hear from you 😭
I didnt know much about the extra complications/adjustments that are possible(feeling dumb), this was my very first cycle, i didnt have any blood tests after my last scan day, so i guess it might have been progestrone related.
Also i have a very low amh at 2.1 which meant i ended up with 1 egg in the end, so no frozens available!
I am planning for a fresh cycle but i want to make sure that we choose the right clinic, i feel NHS didnt do enough for us.

🤞and 🙌 for those who are PUPO
