November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@ImHopeful I had a fresh transfer yesterday, it was a really stressful day, I got a rash the night before, so the specialist decided to transplant the worst graded blast as a compromise, as she didn’t want to transfer anything at all and wanted to stop everything. I was switched from the progesterone pessaries to injectable in case it was an ingredient in the pessary.

Everything is still up in the air, a bit of a rash came up last night but settled down again by this morning. I’m really worried that I could have autoimmune progesterone hypersensitivity, so I’m keeping a really close eye and have tailed my diet back to just fruit and veg to give my immune system the best chance of settling down.

Gardenlady543 · 27/11/2020 15:06

@Lepatz, the clinic I’m at have embryoscope incubators, I think quite a lot of clinics have them. They record the embryos 24/7 and the algorithm uses the clinic’s past data to give them a score and the percentage chance of a live birth, based on how they move and develop over the whole time they’re in there. They sent me a time lapse video of the one I had implanted growing and it’s so amazing to see! Interestingly, when I spoke to the clinic today they told me that while the one I had implanted was graded as the worst (2,3) the computer algorithm had scored it a 8/10. While one of the 2,2’s was scored 5/10. I think this use of technology is amazing. The special incubator costs about £800 extra, but it’s included as part of my package with access, so access fertility must be convinced that it’s worthwhile.

Well I hope I’m on enough progesterone with my once a day injections, but to be honest I’m not sure my body could handle anymore. And I agree with the sleep issues, last night was the worst nights sleep I’ve had through the whole treatment after I had first injection yesterday, I was sleeping fine with the pessaries.

SpyroC · 27/11/2020 19:05

@ivfjourney5 mine always book et in on day 3. Every clinic goes about things differently though. On the day is a bit annoying though as many people go to work beforehand! Still I'm sure it will be fine.

@ChicaXS my last few lubion injections have been much better. Hopefully our bodies get used to it. My consultant said they're not painful- I think he needs to give them a go 😂

@IslandStars yes after my last 2 rounds my period has been later by 4-5 days.

IslandStars · 27/11/2020 19:23

@SpyroC Thank you, I’ve been in a terrible mood all day so maybe it’s imminent...I didn’t realise there would be so much delay and waiting with IVF, soon realise after just 1 round!

MGee123 · 27/11/2020 19:46

Still so pleased for you @ChicaXS - it is a full house so far! 🙌 amazing news 😊 very glad I'm not on the lubion. Sorry you have to keep going with it for ages but at least you know it's for a good cause now!

@ImHopeful welcome 👋 Wed is quite a way away so don't feel too downbeat that it was negative today. 🤞 for you.

@IslandStars welcome too! 👋 I am sure the hormones from IVF must play havoc with your cycle. Such a pain. Hope you can start something to bring AF on soon. Mine was 6 days late before we started this round and it felt like forever 🙈

@Lepatz I have had some cramping on and off too, but mostly in the evenings. My boobs are a bit fuller and more sore today but I get that pre-AF so assume it's the progesterone.

@Gardenlady543 glad the rash has settled down, hope it stays at bay 😊 our embryos were in an embryoscope too - so fascinating! Science and technology really is incredible. Glad the computer liked the embryo that went back in! 🤞

@SpyroC and @TheGlitterFairy how are you ladies feeling? Do you have dates for scans?

I'm still struggling with not sleeping that well on the progesterone and my hair and skin are horrid 😂 so attractive at the moment!! An interesting new development the last 2 nights though have been rather erotic dreams 🤣🤣🤣 I can't remember if it was this thread or another someone said they had them too. I can't say I normally experience them - maybe another progesterone thing?! Rather amusing either way 😂

Happy Friday ladies, hope you get some R&R over the weekend x

Melissa1983 · 28/11/2020 09:43

Hey Ladies

I've had one hell of a stressful week at work so only just catching up now, but that out of office is on for a week

Congratulations on being PUPO @Gardenlady543 @MGee123 @BambiOnIce80 @Geep @Lepatz @unknownscot (hope I've not missed anyone) This seems to be a lucky bunch and long may it continue. So happy for you all.

Amazing news on the BFP @SpyroC @ChicaXS

@PineappleC Yes I think we are on very similar timelines I'm on CD14 today, how are you getting on?

I'm waiting for ovulation so I can get a date for ET. If I ovulate on Tuesday then this month will be cancelled as it's a 5 day transfer and they do not do ET on Sunday's at my clinic so hoping I'll ovulate tomorrow or Monday. I've been getting the flashing smiley face on the OPK for 3 days now and it's only normally I day flashing before I ovulate. Why does it decide to play up the month of Transfer? 😩Had a scan Wednesday and my lining is 8mm which they were happy with so it's now a waiting game.

Gardenlady543 · 28/11/2020 10:24

@Melissa1983 I’ve got my fingers crossed for you ovulating before Tuesday! Let us know! 🤞

IslandStars · 28/11/2020 11:15

@MGee123 Thanks for the welcome and info Smile Still no sign of the damn AF today! I worked out that from looking at last few cycles, had I not been doing IVF, my period would be due late next week, so I guess this is why some people are a week or so late. Might call the clinic on Monday to sound them out, but I doubt they'll be as impatient as I am about it!

PineappleC · 28/11/2020 16:51

@chicaxs congratulations! Great news!😊

@melissa1983 I'm in exactly the same boat! Second day of the flashing smiley today when normally I only have one day of that before my peak! Its as if my body os feeling the pressure 😅 I'm on CD12 but usually get the peak on CD12 or CD13 so hopefully tomorrow. My clinic do blood tests every day (6hr round trip for me 🙄) and I was getting pretty close today🤞🤞. Hope you manage to get the peak before Tuesday.🤞🤞 When I read the Clearblue info sheet I think it was something like 95% of ppl don't have more than 5 days of flashing smileys so hopefully that means yours will be tomorrow or Mon!

Melissa1983 · 28/11/2020 19:03

@PineappleC it's bloody typical this never happens usually. I've been super impatient and just done another one abs I've peaked so thank god I've missed Tuesday. I'll class it it's tomorrow though as I know the clinic day it has to be your morning result. Fingers crossed you get yours tomorrow too 🤞🏽we would be on the exact same timeline then x

Geep · 28/11/2020 19:37

Hi @Lepatz. Yup, 2ww buddies. Whens your OTD? Mine is the 3rd. So still a while to go. Well i know its only 5 days but feels along way off.
Ive started having very mild cramps on and of today (currently 5dp5dt). Not sure what they mean. My period would be due around today or tomorrow so thinking it maybe a bad thing.
If this cycle had failed when would i expect my period to arrive. Will it not arrive until i stop progesterone?

unknownscot · 28/11/2020 20:20

I'm only 2dp5dt and hate this waiting game already 😂😭

All tips and tricks for keeping busy during this and lockdown / not working please!!

BambiOnIce80 · 28/11/2020 20:53

How's the sleeping going now @Lepatz? I've slept pretty well the last couple of nights, which I'm of course taking as a bad omen 🙄 I've been marvelling about how different I feel after the FET compared to the fresh cycle too - the difference is night and day! I am of course taking the feeling completely normal as yet another bad omen though 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'd even say I'm pretty energised this time, which doesn't fit with a good outcome surely?! Although I'm hoping the energy is coming from the progynova, which I obviously wasn't on for the fresh cycle... but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes to the X-rated dreams @MGee123! 😳 Progesterone is a funny thing! How's 5dp5dt going?

Thanks @Melissa1983 ☺️ I'm glad your solid smiley has put in an appearance! Good luck for next week 🍀

Cramps could be a good thing @Geep 🤞 People react differently to the progesterone - some people get AF before they've stopped it if it's a BFN and some people don't. Sadly no way of knowing (and hopefully you won't get to find out 🍀).

It's driving me nuts too @unknownscot! I've been doing a lot of online shopping for Christmas presents/cards, meal planning for Christmas, treated myself to some mistletoe... there is something of a Christmasy theme ☃️❄️🎄😄 It's distracting to an extent, but I am of course still obsessing about it 50% of the time 😬

4dp5dt here and trying to remind myself to have patience (but it's not going so well!). I keep thinking that I haven't got any of the 3 symptoms that turned up on my BFP cycle, but then they didn't turn up until about 6 or 7dp5dt... again with the reminding myself to have patience 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don't think the embie starts producing hCG until about 6dp5dt, so I shouldn't get those symptoms yet... but I'm still hunting for them! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ It's going to be a loooooong 5 days to OTD 🙄

OP posts:
PineappleC · 28/11/2020 21:45

@melissa1983 Ah fantastic!😊 I have just done a cheap OPK (have been doing these every few hours today...I'm not usually like this!) and got a much darker line, so I'm expecting a peak on my digital when I do it later tonight. So we are on pretty much exactly the same timescale! I've been so focused on ovulation and lining that it's only just hit home that ET will be in 5/6 days. Exciting!😊

unknownscot · 28/11/2020 22:17

@BambiOnIce80 I know and my sisters keep asking me how I am... I'm like I don't know and I don't want you to ask cause then I read into everything. There's no winning 😂

My skin has been very bad since starting the FET - my skin is usually pretty clear. I didn't have this many spots as a teen!!

MGee123 · 28/11/2020 22:26

Good news @Melissa1983 ! And 🤞for your peak tomorrow @PineappleC. Hope the next few days go quickly for you both.

@BambiOnIce80 @unknownscot I feel your pain 😬 5dp5dt isn't much better than 4 I'm afraid 😂 I've gone for the strategy of just working. Tomorrow is my only day off during the TWW so ive been kept busy. Still thinking about it a lot of the day but at least I've had plenty of distractions too! I can't say I have any symptoms, it's all just the progesterone I think. Boobs are a bit sore and the odd bit of cramping in the evening. Skin and hair shit, and not sleeping well - basically a drawn out version of the few days I normally get pre-AF! Glad I'm not the only one with x-rated dreams 😂

I'm going to do a long walk tomorrow, make some mince pies and maybe get our Christmas tree. I'm actually feeling okay about OTD and resigned to the idea it's more likely it will be negative. I've psychologically prepared myself for doing this again in Jan and am okay with the idea. Still hoping for the best though 🤞

@Geep I'm 5dp5dt too but my OTD is the 4th 🤷‍♀️😂 I will hold out the extra day! You shouldn't get your period until you stop the progesterone I don't think (or not for another 8 months!). They told me some cramping is normal so I'd try not to worry. I'm having some on and off too, mostly afternoon/evenings 🤷‍♀️ don't think it necessarily indicated anything one way or the other.

Hope you've all had a good evening x

ivfjourney5 · 28/11/2020 22:48

@unknownscot I've been on progynova for nearly 3 months (with a few days break in between each attempt) and my skin has also been horrendous!! I'm so thankful for my mask on the few occasions I go to the shops!!

@BonTon good luck with your scan tomorrow. Hopefully the extra patches and vit E have done the job 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Day 3 of progesterone today and I was expecting more gunk than I've been getting... probably jinxed myself now 😂

SpyroC · 29/11/2020 08:57

@MGee123 I have not slept well for more thank about 2 nights since starting progesterone 😴😴

I remember when I first wrote about the 3am arousal none of us had heard of it 😂 @MGee123 @BambiOnIce80 perhaps it's the time of year 🤷🏻‍♀️ it was thankfully a 1 off for me. Google says it is a thing.

🤞🏻 for ovulation @PineappleC @Melissa1983

@MGee123 @unknownscot @BambiOnIce80 @Melissa1983 stay strong during the second half of your twws ladies 💪🏻💪🏻. It is definitely the hardest part of the process IMO🤪. Nearly there! 🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻 same goes for anyone else I've managed to miss! My scan is the 7th and I can tell that it's going to be a loooooong week.

Hope your all having lovely weekends ☺️ x

unknownscot · 29/11/2020 09:10

@SpyroC @MGee123 I've been sleeping absolutely wonderfully... until FET, now I'm up at 3am, then up at 5am and can barely get back to sleep. Tossing and turning all night. Hope you guys are doing ok. Are you working? I'm off, so grateful I can nap if needed/if I can!

@BambiOnIce80 ah yes, the increasing arousal. Mine isn't there so much anymore 😂

I went a big walk yesterday, think I'll aim to do that each day if it's dry. Although I was pretty cold when I came in so maybe not as big a walk next time as don't want to be cold and not able to bath/hot water bottle!

I've said to my siblings that I'll take all their Xmas presents and wrap them. That's got to keep me busy 😂

X

TheGlitterFairy · 29/11/2020 09:41

@ChicaXS YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 just caught up with your wonderful BFP!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! So thrilled for you!!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

TheGlitterFairy · 29/11/2020 09:51

@MGee123 I’m also not sleeping well either - not sure if it’s due to the progesterone or just too much running around in my head - possibly both!! It’s a PITA though!!

@MGee123 @BambiOnIce80 @unknownscot @Melissa1983 hope you’re all faring well on the tww - nearly there and you can do this 🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪

@MGee123 - I’m the same as @SpyroC and have a scan a week tomorrow on 7th Dec - time is dragging and trying to keep busy!!! All this waiting for us all is hard!!!

Btw - for those who are missing a glass of bubbles, a friend recommended a non alcoholic version from Sainsbury’s at 2.75/ bottle (see photo) - I tried it last night and it’s actually pretty quaffable!!! All others I’ve tried have ended up down the sink!! 🙌🙌🥂🥂

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and sorry for any ladies I’ve missed. Stay strong - we can do this!! 😘😘

unknownscot · 29/11/2020 10:23

@TheGlitterFairy
Thanks.

I've not tried that but actually I'm obsessed with Nosecco. Not to everyone's taste but I really like it. The only wine I tasted was absolutely vile - down the sink!
I've got a list on my notes app rating them out of 10 so I know what I've tried and not tried.
I'll give that a go!

X

SpyroC · 29/11/2020 13:00

Thanks for the recommendation @TheGlitterFairy I gave been craving everything I can't have! Probably more psychological than hormonal at this stage I think.

I am working @unknownscot and I'm actually glad as on my last cycles I was off or working from home and I definitely went more 🤪🤪🙈. It helps to keep me occupied although it certainly doesn't help with the 😴 and the covid risk is another downer 😒.

@BambiOnIce80 I can't believe it, I've actually lost 2 pounds. Wtf! I'll have to try harder clearly 🙈🙈

@TheGlitterFairy @ChicaXS I've made us a new thread on birth clubs. I've tagged you both but then it I occurred to me that I don't get notifications when I'm tagged so you probably don't either. I intend to stick around here to cheer everyone on too though. I thought we could hand hold over there beyond this thread and hopefully there will be other ladies joining soon too 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Gardenlady543 · 29/11/2020 14:50

Don’t forget me from the 2ww club! My OTD is Wednesday 9th December. I’m staying on a restrictive diet throughout to try and keep the rash down as much as I can, my GP has referred me to immunology urgently and given me an epipen in case the worst happens. I’m also trying to go on a walk once a day to keep moving about. I’m back at work tomorrow after a week off and will be glad to have something to distract me again.

ImHopeful · 29/11/2020 15:08

Thank you @Lepatz @MGee123
I hope everything is going well for all the ladies.
@Gardenlady543 im glad the rash is better and adjusting your diet is such a good idea, ive stopping having anything that im not sure of the effects. And you never know, maybe that worst quality embryo is the one Wink
@Geep @Lepatz my OTD is a day before yours, the 2nd. Have you done any tests yet?
Although i may not even get to check on that day, my spotting has increased so much, i saw a tiny clot today, and all my symtoms are gone, i think AF is on the way, im heartbroken 😭
