November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@ChicaXS What amazing news to wake to. Congratulations! Xxxx

ChicaXS · 27/11/2020 09:09

Btw for everyone on lubion complaining - I’m another complainer. It’s a bitch to be frank. I am constantly sore - even last night I couldn’t sleep on my side. The worst part is the injection. For some reason my left side of the stomach hurts more so I stick to my right, but it’s hard to inject in and 100% of the time I get a sore welt afterwards. My clinic wants me on the injections and pessaries until 12 weeks!

ImHopeful · 27/11/2020 09:15

Hey everyone,
Im new here, done my first fresh ET on 18th with one average quality 2 day embryo, ive been having lots of PMS since 3 days ago, did a test this morning and got bfn, anyone in similar situation?

Gardenlady543 · 27/11/2020 09:15

@ChicaXS Amazing!!! Congratulations!!

MF1981 · 27/11/2020 09:20

Congrats @ChicaXS that’s amazing!!!

ivfjourney5 · 27/11/2020 09:25

@ImHopeful I'm sorry for your result this morning 💐 Was today your OTD? 9 days seems quite early, there still might be hope yet! Did you also use a FRER test? I'm clinging on to hope for you, I know you will be feeling devastated but stay on your meds and maybe test again in a couple of days🤞🏼

ivfjourney5 · 27/11/2020 10:14

Did anybody else not find out the time of transfer until the actual day? I've just phoned the nurses to find out the time on Tuesday, and they said they will ring my Tuesday morning and let me know when to come in. But I've got something at the back of my mind saying this doesn't seem right 🤔

ImHopeful · 27/11/2020 10:22

@ivfjourney5 thank you. No my OTD is next Wednesday but the pms had stressed me so much i wanted to somehow calm myself and gave a supermarket brand early response test a try. I had it from the time i was TTC naturally. I'd read on many other threads that people have had positives as early as 8dpt.
I was very determined that i wont test until 12dpt, but I gave in.

unknownscot · 27/11/2020 10:42

@ivfjourney5 Yeah I found out yesterday morning to be in for midday.

ivfjourney5 · 27/11/2020 10:45

Thanks @unknownscot good luck!! 🤞🏼🍀

Gardenlady543 · 27/11/2020 11:12

@ivfjourney5 I wouldn’t worry about the lack of a time slot. I think all clinics are different. I’ve been in the theatre area a couple of times so far and it’s clear there is a lot of juggling needed, they may well need to book in the egg collections first (and how many they’re doing will only become evidence a couple of days in advance), since the EC is done under sedation there is a room full of people including an anaesthetist. My transfer yesterday was a much more chilled out affair! I had two specialized nurses and an embryologist, and no one else, so they perhaps work in the ET around the other theatre slots.

Gardenlady543 · 27/11/2020 11:14

@ImHopeful I used to do this when trying naturally, but it just ends up causing so much stress. I think that’s why the clinics are specific with the test day. Can you try to distract yourself until Wednesday and then do a test then? Try not to worry too much inbetween, easier said than done I know!

Geep · 27/11/2020 11:35

Hi @ivfjourney5. I was told on day 3 that the clinic would ring me one day 5 between 8-9am to see the embryo had made it. If it had ET would be between 10-1 and theyd confirm on the day. On day 5 i got the call at 9 to say it had made it and transfer was for 11. I think they don't schedule a time until they know the outcome. But at least we had time frame which was good. Maybe your clinic could advise if it would be morning or afternoon.

IslandStars · 27/11/2020 11:38

Hello, i posted on another thread, but i though it might be more relevant here.

I had my first EC in October, AF arrived 6 days later as expected. My next period is now 4 days late with no sign of it arriving, i've never been this late before. I'm desperate to start my second round and avoid hitting the Christmas break. Anyone else been late for their second period post EC? No chance of being pregnant BTW!

BonTon · 27/11/2020 11:54

Hi @IslandStars, I don’t have regular periods sadly but I think it’s quite common for cycles to be a bit missed up after ivf so probably not unusual that yours is late. My clinic said they would give me something to induce a bleed if my cycle pre downreg was more than 35 days so could be worth asking yours? Fingers crossed your period shows soon xxx

ChicaXS · 27/11/2020 12:01

@ivfjourney5 my clinic gave me my time slot the week before! They’re quite regimented and as another poster said, they did EC in the morning and ET in the afternoon. I didn’t get my thaw success call until 11! I did go in 2.40 but had to wait for about an hour for my transfer as they were a bit chaotic with the slots. Never got a room to change either - they seemed overbooked lol.

It’ll be fine but I always wonder how long an embryo can survive outside the uterus once thawed??

IslandStars · 27/11/2020 12:09

@BonTon Thank you, that's good to know there could be medicine available to induce. Think i will leave it over the weekend and call on Monday, as i'm not near 35 days yet, just unusually late for me. 35 days would push me very close to Christmas for EC, depending on how long the medicine takes to induce. More waiting torture!

SpyroC · 27/11/2020 13:27

@ChicaXS 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳Amazing! Massive congratulations! 😍xxxx

ImHopeful · 27/11/2020 13:44

You're right @Gardenlady543, i better wait until my OTD, hopefully i can hold off myself Grin
Did you do a fresh or frozen transfer? Hope everything goes well for you, pls let us know if you see any symptoms. Ive seen all sorts of symptoms myself, you name it, so confusing.

Lepatz · 27/11/2020 14:03

@Geep Hello! I think we’re TWW buddies, I had my transfer on Monday too. I’ve already been symptom spotting like mad - it's so hard not to!!

The symptoms are nothing like what I had with my fresh cycle though. If I wasn’t looking for them, I would barely know they were there tbh. I had some light pricking sensations in my lower abdomen on 2dp5dt… but that could have just been wind tbh ;D Yesterday morning at 3dp, I did have some light period type cramping, which I could feel the most when being still. Since them my boobs are feeling a little sore, but no more cramps. But it could all be the progesterone though.

Congrats on your transfer @Gardenlady543 That’s interesting re the chance of live birth rating. What clinic are you at? We weren’t given anything like that level of detail… Amazing to have 8 in the freezer too :). I take 2mls of lubion twice a day - 9am.9pm, as well as 2 pessaries of cyclones, and arovi injections once a day. It’s am intense regime!!

@ChicaXS CONGRATS! Awesome news :) Also, thanks for the laugh at Eminem transfer!!

@BambiOnIce80 I hear you on the not sleeping thing. I seem to manage one reasonable night, then one bad night. I am supposed to be back to work next week, but really not feeling it right now!!

@unknownscot Congrats on your transfer, welcome to the 2WW. (Fellow Scot here btw :))

@ivfjourney5 Yes, lubion is a huge pain!! I’ve been doing them in my thigh, the top of my butt. But I get big lumps, and last night a slightly badly placed on meant I couldn’t sleep on one side!!! It’s a clear liquid though. Also, my cats are also confused as to why they are not allowed to sleep on my stomach anymore!

@ImHopeful Good luck, the 2WW is such a trying time xx
