November IVF/FET

... Too soon?! 😁😉

Been waiting on a FET since we were put on July's list and I've heard from our clinic this week that I've to call them when AF rocks up in October for a November FET. We had our fresh cycle in January, had a BFP, but found there was no heartbeat at the 11 week scan in March (MMC) - it's been a bit of a roller-coaster so far this year (as if covid craziness wasn't enough!).

Found having a thread to go through it all with a massive emotional support, so looking for some MN buddies to do it all again with. Good luck ladies and looking forward to 'meeting' you 🍀🙂

@Gardenlady543 I think access cover freeze all if it’s for medical reasons but not for elective.

ivfjourney5 · 26/11/2020 11:46

@BonTon I've been where you are many times, so I totally understand your frustrations! I'm so glad the clinic have given you different forms of oestrogen to try and help. If you've had a good lining in the past it shows your body can do it, so hopefully the extra your on now will you the push that you need 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I'm on day 25 of oestrogen and I've only just added progesterone today, so you've definitely got time to get it thicker! Do you have another scan booked in next week?

@unknownscot yeyyy good news about the thaw. Best of luck for midday 🤞🏼

@Gardenlady543 it's so frustrating that you're having so many difficulties. I know it'll be hard, but please try and see the positive that you've got lots of good embryos. Take one step at a time, and works towards the next hurdle. In the meantime I hope you have a good chat this afternoon with them xx

My first progesterone injection went smoothly this morning 🎉 the area on my stomach is pretty delicate to touch now but I can cope with that! Next step is the gunk tonight 🩲

Geep · 26/11/2020 12:04

Hi all.

Hope all those who have procedures today, that they go well.
@Gardenlady543 hope when you go into talk with them you get the otutcome you hope for.
Anyone in the 2ww - ive no symptons at all and trying not to read into it to much (Although my google search history would say otherwise) But out of curiosity do any of you guys havr symptoms? I thought i was possible having cramping but when i actually stopped what i was doing to focus on it there was nothing. So on top of the waiting im having imaginary pains lol
Im back to work today so hoping that will make the time go a little quicker.
Also im worrying about the progesterone gel as again im not finding it messy like the clinic said i might nor am i having any side effects so worried im not doing it right. But i do check and after doing it there is no gel left in the applicator. Anyone any experience using the gel?

ChicaXS · 26/11/2020 12:24

@Gardenlady543 I hope you get the lower graded Eminem transferred! Fingers crossed for you!

@BonTon did you clinic advise on baby aspirin at all? When I was with create and did ovulation induction, my lining varied! And was around 5-6mm at day 21! I do have PCOS which is a contributed but I started taking myoinsotol with baby aspirin and LOTS of water and when I did my consultation scan 3 months later for IVF my lining was perfect. I don’t know if it makes a difference at all but I’m sorry it’s frustrating. As @ivfjourney5 said you still have time so keep moving , drink LOTS water and ask about baby aspirin? It will get there!
@Geep I never had any symptoms until 8DP5DT (had bit of a melt down on this thread 🤣) and thought the embryo didn’t take. Now I feel more symptoms from cramps to sore breast but they come and go!

So I called my clinic and they got me another subscription of meds to support my FET for a week which should deliver by Monday so that way I’m covered in case it is positive. I told them that I wanted to test a day early (tomorrow) but they said they would only take the result from Saturday. I think I’ll test tomorrow as I don’t think I can go through another day of anxiety when most clinic test around 10-11 DPT anyway?! 🧐

ChicaXS · 26/11/2020 12:25

@Gardenlady543 I meant embaby not Eminem! By all means I do not wish Eminem to be transferred into your uterus! 😂

TheGlitterFairy · 26/11/2020 12:34

Lots to catch up on - goodness!

@BambiOnIce80 Congrats on being pupo!! How's your tww going? Hope you're ok and are able to enjoy your time off this/ next week. Burger sounds delish (and I'm not usually a fan!) I may need one now!!

@Lepatz congrats on being pupo too! Hope you're faring well!

@unknownscot good luck with your ET today!

@BonTon sorry to read that your lining isn't as thick as before - the supplements will help I'm sure - what does this mean for the round? Will they try to increase it so you can get to a transfer or will you need to go on your next cycle?

@Gardenlady543 sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time with this round and are unable to transfer today - that's a blow - but hopefully if they can freeze all then get your meds sorted out properly so no reaction you'll be in a better place to move forward. I know it won't feel like that at the moment though.

@Geep welcome and congrats on being pupo!

@MGee123 How're you faring on the tww? Hope you're ok.

@ChicaXS - Sorry to read about your loss - that must have been incredibly hard and fully agree that the testing you've done now is a good thing to save heartache of that nature in the future. Hope that you can get your meds sorted out and are able to speak to the clinic about your OTD soon.

@SpyroC how're you faring with the wait to the 7th? My boobs seem to have deflated a bit too which sent me into a spin yesterday though they're still sore so I'm guessing that's a good sign. Had what I think was a wave of nausea yesterday and perhaps one today too but can't work out if I'm making that up or if it's real!! Sleep is up and down - last night was ok so feeling less tired today which is good though it seems to hit me later on in the day then I'm exhausted!!

Gardenlady543 · 26/11/2020 12:52

Thanks everyone, this has been a really stressful morning. So I’m in the clinic now we have agreed that the least viable blast- the 2,3 is going to be implanted today. The chance of success is low but not trying at all would obviously be lower. The other 8 will be frozen for the future. I’m also going to be changed onto the progesterone injections from today in case it is the pessaries doing it.

Gardenlady543 · 26/11/2020 14:08

Well after a difficult day I am now PUPO with “underdog embryo”! I was so reasssured by the embryologist, she told me the blast being transferred is graded 2,3 but the embryoscope has scored it 8/10 and given it a 36% chance of live birth, which I think is pretty high considering it’s the worst one. Plus if it results in a live birth then I will know that this child wouldn’t have ever existed, had I not got a rash the night before!

BonTon · 26/11/2020 14:25

Great news @Gardenlady543 ! All the best x

@ChicaXS, thanks for your thoughts... the clinic have started me on the clexane injections as well this morning so that ties in with the baby aspirin I think? Aspirin is a sort blood thinner right? I’ll let the medics on here answer that 😂 out for a walk now whilst on a couple of work calls to try and get the blood pumping!

@TheGlitterFairy not out yet thankfully - the nurse was positive additional drugs will do the trick so 🤞🏻. Back in on Sunday for another scan. Time must be moving so slowly for you at the moment... waves of nausea can only be a good sign though!

@ivfjourney5 thanks! I thought of you actually as soon as they said it wasn’t thick enough... Good to hear that they can start progesterone much later. I’m day 14 atm and back in on Sunday. 🙏🙏🙏 enjoy the gunk later today 🤦🏼‍♀️

Xxx

TheGlitterFairy · 26/11/2020 14:33

Well done @Gardenlady543 - goodness, what a stressful day you've had! Good to give it a shot though and see what happens and you've got your frosties if needed too. Time to relax now - for today at least!

@BonTon Yes that's right - they both act as blood thinners. I'm on clexane too and have been since the week before ET and will be for a while yet if things work out. Fingers crossed that the additional meds work their magic before sunday! Ha yes, it is, as I'm sure for us all! Agree - hoping it's a good sign while not wanting to feel sick at the same time! Just a couple of waves so far....am back to tracking any odd symptom to myself (and mumsnet!) again to see if there's a pattern!

BambiOnIce80 · 26/11/2020 15:01

I find it amazing how people who don't suffer from infertility love to tell people that do what they should be doing @MGee123! 🧘‍♀️😂 One of my friends sent me a link last week for a herbal tea recommended by Glamour magazine to improve sperm quality... even though she knows we're primary unexplained and DP's SA was fine 🙄 I know it comes from a good place and I should be thankful but, you know 😏 Which pessaries are you using? I'm on utrogestan and the gunk definitely gets worse as time goes on, but I don't think it's a sign that it's not absorbing 🤔 My understanding is that it's basically a build up of the broken down gelatin capsule over time, therefore more gunk! 🌊🩲 Although I'm probably giving you a load of info that you don't need if you're not on utrogestan! 🙈 I hope the clinic get back to you soon 🤞

Oh @Gardenlady543 you really are being put through it! 😟 Is there more than one formulation of utrogestan? Mine says you shouldn't use it if you're allergic to peanut or soy. I hope the injections solve the problem 🤞 And congratulations on being pupo! 💐

I've read POF plenty of times on the infertility boards @ivfjourney5 and did a double take - to me it stood for 'Plenty Of Fish'! 🐟💋🤣 I hope you feel better soon and your cold does one before Tuesday.x

Ach, thats annoying about the lining @BonTon 😟 Sounds very promising that your clinic are straight on it with the patches and the vit E though 🤞 Not long to wait for the next scan either, which is good 🙂 Yep, clexane is an anticoagulant, so it'll be more effective against blood clots than aspirin (an anti-platelet drug), so it sounds like you've got your bases covered 💉 👍

Excellent news that you're embie has defrosted nicely @unknownscot ❄️💪 I hope you're home and enjoying some well deserved sofa time 🛋️📺🎞️

I'm 2dp5dt @Geep and I thought I was having some mild burning/cramping in my lower abdo last night, but now I think it was all in my head 🤦🏻‍♀️ Plus it's totally normal to have a little cramping after having a catheter poking about in our uteruses, but of course I'm trying to find more meaning in it than that! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Feeling a tiny bit nauseous on and off, but I'm sure that's just from the progesterone (and I probably wouldn't even register it if I wasn't post-ET 🙄). OTD feels like a looonnng time away 😣 Sorry I can't help with the progesterone gel question because I'm on utrogestan which is an oil based progesterone in a gelatin capsule pessary 💊 I'd ask your clinic if you're worrying 👍

Eminem transfer made me chuckle @ChicaXS 😄 I'm glad you've got the drug situation sorted out 👍 And very excited to hear you're testing tomorrow! 🤩 Sending you tonnes of good luck wishes 🍀🤞🍀🤞

A burger is a rarity for me too @TheGlitterFairy (I've not had one this year so far!), but I just fancied one... plus it motivated DP to join me on my walk! 🍔🍟😋😂 I didnt have a gazillion symptoms in the early days of my BFP either, so please try not to worry ❤️ Queasiness and tiredness coming and going seemed to kick-in just before week 7. Boobs weren't sore all the time (they weren't tender at all the few days before the test) and I arguably needed to pee more often, but that was about it. It's so hard not to worry though, I know 😔

I had the worst nights sleep in a looong time last night 😣 Wide awake from 2.30am and didn't get back to sleep until after my 6am pessary 😖 I'm trying to take it as a positive sign that the progesterone is doing what it should be, but don't fancy many more nights like that! Really glad I decided to take the TWW off now though - I'd be next to useless for work 😏

unknownscot · 26/11/2020 15:19

All went perfectly. Thank you for the well wishes. Such an emotional thing to watch on the monitor. ❤️🤞🏼

Gardenlady543 · 26/11/2020 15:44

@unknownscot I was going to ask how you got on, that’s good news! The nurse gave me a photo of the ultrasound with the embryo being implanted. I should get a video of my underdog blast growing in the incubator

unknownscot · 26/11/2020 17:07

Yes, us too @Gardenlady543

ivfjourney5 · 26/11/2020 18:41

Is anybody else on Lubion? The injection site and surrounding area is still reallllly sore to touch from my injection at 10am 😳

@ChicaXS Eminem 🤣 P.S. humongous good luck for the morning. I'll be thinking about you when I wake up 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Gardenlady543 I'm sooo happy you were able to have a transfer!! After such a stressful morning I hope you've been able to relax a little bit this afternoon 💐

@unknownscot woo congrats 🎉 I hope the TWW treats you well!

unknownscot · 26/11/2020 18:48

@ivfjourney5 yeah some of mine were a bit tender for a couple days. They do die down though. I also found one side bruised more than the other. Just persevere unfortunately xx

ivfjourney5 · 26/11/2020 18:50

Thanks @unknownscot. My cats are going to hate me, they usually lie on my stomach in the evenings 😂 no chance they are touching it today

Gardenlady543 · 26/11/2020 18:52

@ivfjourney5 Thankyou!! I feel like I’ve been on such a rollercoaster today, driving to the clinic not knowing if I was going to have a transfer or not was so stressful!! But I reckon a good ending and I’ve been watching the video of the embryo growing getting excited about the little underdog who now has a chance!

Re: lubion, I am on it now!! Due to the rash fiasco, now worried about how much more expensive it is. Nobody told me when to inject it, should it be given in the morning? I had a pessary this morning and then gave myself the first injection at 5pm. The first injection seemed to go ok, I have a very tiny needle which helps, there seems to be a lot of it though, so it could be the volume, 1.1mls seems to be quite a lot.

ivfjourney5 · 26/11/2020 19:05

@Gardenlady543 I'm on one injection and one pessary, so I'm doing the injection at 10am and the pessary at 10pm right before bed so I can just stay lying down. If you are on the injections twice a day just try and do them 12 hours apart, I wouldn't worry about waking up at 5am tomorrow morning though if I were you! Was yours really thick fluid? I think that's what has caused it to be honest, I did rub the skin for a while afterwards to try and help it disperse, I'll probably end up with a huge bruise in the morning 🤣 Hopefully underdog makes it and you won't have a second thought about the cost! But just think, the injection is better for you and embryo so it's best it give it a fighting chance 💪🏼🤞🏼🍀

SpyroC · 26/11/2020 19:07

Thanks for the recipe @BambiOnIce80 😊I'll give that a go. Welcome to the progesterone induced zombie like state club! I miss being woken up by my alarm! I think I've slept through once since the progesterone kicked in 😴.

@MGee123 I started messing with my diet in response to my endo diagnosis and then when I discovered my eggs don't appear to be very good quality I spent a lot of time researching what I can do (lock down time). A lot of it was similar to what I had read about reducing endo inflammation. The egg quality difference is the high protein part. My consultant also suggested high protein low carb so I went hardcore. Who knows if it's made a difference as even though I've had 2x bfps since, 've also changed other things🤷🏻‍♀️. I was healthy anyway to be honest. I'm did like feeling like I was doing something. Hopefully, you won't need to even think about this stuff! 🤞🏻

I'm sorry to hear of your set back @BonTon I'm routing for the patches to do there thing! 🤞🏻

@ivfjourney5 is it lubion you're injecting? I think injecting progesterone on top of the gunk has massively helped me.

@ChicaXS it's annoying they gave you such a short prescription as sometimes you have to pay additional delivery charges on private prescriptions. Ah well at least you will have it! I had an issue last time, had to get more even though I was 90% it was ectopic which it obviously was 😒 I just put the surplus to this round. If you do cave and test tomorrow I wish you all the luck in the world! Xx

@TheGlitterFairy im only 5+2 so I'm not really noticing much. My boobs have been weird since the initial post ec drop midway through the tww. Strangely, my right is noticeably twingey yet the left is mostly fine! Got scared about the c word and googled it and thankfully it is a pregnancy thing. Furthermore, it hurts most in bed, possibly because I do my injection at 8.30 ish. 🤷🏻‍♀️ my other "symptom" is crap sleep 😴. Oh and I did have a random strong aversion to salmon & cucumber on Sunday 😂 but nothing like that since. It's reassuring that we are similar. Time is majorly dragging though!

Congratulations on being pupo @unknownscot @Gardenlady543

@Gardenlady543 sorry it's been such a stressful day. Your blastocyst % is the highest I've ever seen on these boards. It sounds to me like they were all fantastic and the one they've used is just less so but still good.

Stay strong those of you enduring twws 💪🏻 I am cheer leading foray of your embies! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

unknownscot · 26/11/2020 19:11

@ivfjourney5 @Gardenlady543
I'm on both Lubion injections and Cyclogest pessaries - the lubion is very viscous so can't take time to disperse into the body. Be patient with them. It'll be so worth it 🤞🏼

Gardenlady543 · 26/11/2020 19:21

@SpyroC thanks, I am 35, so not a spring chicken, so I’m really chuffed. The embryologist said 100% fertilization rate and then the number and quality of blasts is so rare. She was telling me how excited she is seeing it, this afternoon she told me that they had been improving in the day so I now have 4 x 1,1 ❄️ blasts! I put it down to being a lifelong vegan!!

@ivfjourney5 I’m just prescribed 1 x injection a day, hopefully that’s enough. Even if I find another cause for the rash I don’t think the specialist would ever risk me on a pessary again now. The specialist was really worried that it’s a reaction to progesterone, which would happen with all formulas and make IVF a no go. Luckily the rash has been going down and I’d assume since I had the injection 2.5 hours ago, if it was the progesterone then the rash would be looking really bad. I reckon it is thick because I had to press down so hard on the syringe!

MGee123 · 26/11/2020 21:44

Off to sleep in a minute so will catch up properly tomorrow but congrats @Gardenlady543 and @unknownscot ! 🙌👌👍

And good luck @ChicaXS for tomorrow, thinking of you 🤞 x

ChicaXS · 27/11/2020 07:31

So ladies, at 6am I woke up and caved to do the test one day before my OTD tomorrow and it’s good news! I’m officially pregnant! So ecstatic and in shock I can’t believe it! I pray this is a sticky one and I can finally have my baby I dreamt of for years!!!!

Keep going ladies I’m thinking of you all. I’ll be sticking around as you have been amazing support so thank you!

MGee123 · 27/11/2020 07:36

🙌🙌🙌 congrats @ChicaXS ! Delighted for you 🥳 what lovely news to start the day. Enjoy the happiness you must be feeling now after so many ups and downs x
