Hi ladies, I’ve been through all of my fertility screening tests etc and am due to start my first and hopefully only round of IVF (positive vibes Smile ) soon. I’m looking to share my hopes, experiences and tips and provide support to anyone else expecting to start a cycle soon. The more the merrier!

Just got confirmation on a CB digital, it’s definitely a BFP! Not going to tell the clinic until Monday as that’s my OTD. Due date works out as 30 Jun if it sticks.

Dinky06 · 22/10/2020 14:03

Awwwww such wonderful news! Congrats @Sunbird24 xx

Oh wow @Sunbird24 That’s amazing news!! Congratulations! My official test day is Monday too!

Bee369 · 22/10/2020 15:53

Is anyone else at this stage getting cramps? Freaking me out a bit!

Lolly2020 · 22/10/2020 17:57

@Sunbird24 congratulations!!! So excited for you 💓

Tara8 · 22/10/2020 18:40

Great news @sunbird24 congrats to you, you must be over the moon! 😊 Wishing you all the best.

Hoping to hear lots more good news from people over the next few weeks x

SpyroC · 22/10/2020 19:39

Congratulations! @Sunbird24 xx

Anyone else doing/done 2 injections at a time? Do you do one each side or in a similar area? This is new for me as I down reg using a nasal spray.

Dinky06 · 22/10/2020 19:47

Hi @SpyroC the days I had to do two injections, I would do them on separate sides of my tummy rather than making one area very sore.

Worked out that today is my 22nd day of shots which explains why my tummy is looking quite angry! Inhixa seems to really bruise whilst also causing a red rash too. Joy!

Congratulations @Sunbird24 That’s such amazing news.

I seem to be pretty behind you all but for what it’s worth, I didn’t have to isolate or anything like that but did have to do a covid test 48hrs before retrieval. And I’ve been on steroids (due to high NK cells) in prep for transfer - but now off them again as they’ve advised freeze all now 😔

OH DNA fragmentation is really poor so he had direct sperm retrieval yesterday whilst my eggs were collected. I had 23 eggs retrieved but only 15 were mature enough and 9 have fertilised via ICSI (day 1 today). The fact they’re whittling down so quickly makes me feel so uneasy. Praying there are some strong little beans that make it to day 5 (Monday). Because of the 23 they advised we freeze all (was originally going to do 1FT) but they were worried about OHSS. Wondering if that was the wrong move now given how many are dropping out though. Any that survive we are having tested due to the multiple MCs I’ve had in the past year through natural conception. The worry is ridiculous but same time, if they’re not right then it means reducing the agony perhaps... I’ll just face a different kind that’s purely emotional vs physical AND emotional. Such a cruel game all of this! That said, it’s great to hear the positive stories - gives you hope.

Hope everyone is holding up ok. Providing we get some goodens, I guess I’ll be on a December/Jan FET thread. Here’s hoping! Good luck everyone x

Dinky06 · 23/10/2020 04:48

Trouble sleeping which is so annoying :( Very much feel like I can feel the TWW ticking by at this moment!

@Lindyloolou thanks for sharing your update. It's hard waiting for the embryologist calls and hoping for bigger numbers especially when there is nothing you can do now. It sounds like they're really trying to support you through this cycle because of your past experiences so take faith in that. It's a cliche but because it is true, it does only take one so try not to obsess on the numbers. Easier said than done I know. I'm sure you do have some good strong beans in that bunch so try to stay positive and offload to us when you need to vent. Sending love and hugs xxx

@Lindyloolou gosh the wait is tough but try not to worry too much - I’ve done icsi and FET twice and each time had quite a big drop off at the start, I think 16 eggs, 8 fertilised, but then 4 day 5 embryos - docs told me that drop off at the start is more common with male factor infertility xx

Lindyloolou · 23/10/2020 08:01

Thanks @Dinky06 - sorry to hear you have insomnia. Hopefully a BFP symptom (was the first telling sign for me!) but appreciate it’s also a stressful time too - knowing there’s a possibility and the whole waiting game. I mean, we can send people to the moon, you’d have thought there’d be a better way of testing by now 💁🏽‍♀️🥴

@Bee369 Thank you. Hopefully this is all down to male factor and they’ve got some goodens from direct retrieval as you say, fingers crossed🤞 I’d be happy with your numbers at this rate! Having PGS testing too so need as many as possible x

mayihavesomecakeplease · 23/10/2020 09:29

@Sunbird24 that's brilliant!! So so pleased for you.

I suppose I'm 'finished' since we've done a freeze all and the embryos are safely tucked away in the cold, but great to hear the updates.

Also, I feel like I'm only now just beginning to feel 'good' again a week and a half after egg retrieval and finishing medication. I guess that's totally normal with the emotional and physical strain that we put ourselves under for this, but took me by surprise. So just an encouragement to everyone to take good care of yourselves, whatever stage of the process you are in xx

Dinky06 · 23/10/2020 10:09

Thanks @Lindyloolou I ended up awake between 3.30 and 5am but managed to sleep again after that until 9.30am. Feeling quite zombie like today.

My abdomen has become quite swollen and I feel very tender in the pelvic area which is in part I think I was up last night. I've called my clinic and they've asked me to go in for a scan at 2pm today. I know it's good to get checked but I'm awfully scared. I feel like I did pre egg collection so guessing OHSS has crept up on me. Very tearful and anxious right now.

Jewel2110 · 23/10/2020 10:47

Morning @Dinky06 sorry you had such a bad night, so frustrating! When all you want to do is sleep through the wait, good luck with your scan, we only have 6 days to go!! I’m planning a packed weekend, that’s 2 days out the way then xxx

@Lindyloolou, @mayihavesomecakeplease sending you so much luck, feels a never ending journey when you have to wait, get Xmas shopping, great distraction xxx

lucyinthe · 23/10/2020 11:10

Morning ladies, so sorry to those with bad news this cycle 💐
And congrats to those already with their BFPs.

Ive tried to have as little time on my phone as possible so haven't been on here a lot, just popped on to have a read and where you were all at now and again.

I'm 8dp5dt and stupidly tested early at 5am this morning with a clear blue (not digital) there was no second line. Obviously had a breakdown. Just been down to Superdrug to get a FRER and there is the faintest line, now I'm panicking, should it be darker at this stage? Is it anything to get excited about? I had an FET so no chance of it being a trigger shot still in my system.

I would welcome your opinions and telling offs for testing too early! One pic with flash and one without added below 🙈

Hey @lucyinthe I can see the faint line but given the results of both tests can you possibly test again tomorrow? Was the CB an early indicator test as well or a regular one? Wishing you lots of luck! Btw did you transfer on Thursday 15? I think we might be at the same stage in the wait. I'm due to test on Thursday 29. DP is firmly against testing early so I'm trying my best to hold tight.

Just had my clinical review which involved an internal scan and an ultrasound scan. I have a confirmed case of OHSS but luckily they said nothing to worry about anything as it's not too severe. There is fluid in or around my womb though :( I do need to start taking paracetamol again so I feel a bit like I did post EC but pre ET physically wise. Am just very relieved it's not worse and that it's the weekend. Sending lots of love, hugs and positive vibes to all xxx

lucyinthe · 23/10/2020 15:05

Yes I'm the same as you @Dinky06 - ET was the 15th, our OTD is Monday. The clear blue was just a standard one not an early detection, kicking myself for doing it.

Gonna do another FRER in the morning and another clear blue on OTD.

Have you had any symptoms at all?

Dinky06 · 23/10/2020 15:19

Fingers crossed @lucyinthe! One positive will hopefully be followed by a BFP xx

I don't think I can tell any specific symptoms because I feel so wonky now from the OHSS and from all the meds I'm still on. The side effects of the meds are the same as pregnancy symptoms which also feel like PMS! It's a rubbish combo.

Sunbird24 · 23/10/2020 15:37

@lucyinthe that’s what my frer looked like on Monday at 7dp5dt, and I got a positive on a clearblue digital yesterday lunchtime, so you’re looking good so far!

Mrsmch123 · 23/10/2020 19:57

Hi ladies I tested this evening.....
