Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

Hi all thanks for everyone's good wishes.

Had a call this morning saying it's a Grade 3 - so it doesn't look like we will be having a transfer on Monday. She mentioned it would be a miracle if it did survive so maybe a tiny chance but we won't be getting our hopes up

@J1984 so sorry to hear that, you must be gutted - hope you can be there for each other over the weekend and take the time you need to regroup. I don't know much about the grades etc but if there is still a chance am hoping it pulls through for you xx

To be honest I've just checked online and our Embryo is showing as non compliant and it's at 3 cells. We pretty much came to terms yesterday that this cycle wouldn't be a success. It's our 1st try at IVF. My wife at this stage doesn't want to try again. I can understand the reasons but I think it's worthwhile trying just once more. We both only want to try with our own eggs/sperm so we will take time to come to terms with this and think about it further down the line

@Tarsette oh wow 52 throws my numbers out the water, I can't imagine how you were feeling after that collection! The nurse said yesterday that my lining turned out to be 9mm apparently at EC, so at least I know it can get thick. It sounds exhausting having scans so regularly, but we will get there eventually! Wishing you all the luck in the world as well, and thanks for all the different things to put to the consultant. Hope you enjoyed the wine

@zebra80 great roundup there! My clinic don't have the ability to do consents online unfortunately, everything needs paper signing and taking to the clinic. I hope your support network is still helping you. 8 follicles sounds great!

I'm feeling very deflated and emotional. We've 2 eggs looking viable (1 at 21mm and the other at 20mm) and another 5 at around 12mm, which she doubts will mature enough but they may. She also warned I'll have to be scanned before EC in case I've ovulated already. So as this is our last cycle I'm not all that positive. I'll trigger tomorrow evening and then EC will be Monday morning. I'm feeling old, dried up and utterly deflated.

@Rumtopf sorry to hear that :-( Here's hoping the 12mm stragglers catch up a bit. But that sounds like 2 really good ones? Hope you can have a cosy night tonight and take your mind off it a bit, the limbo is awful :-(

It's funny, I'm generally not someone who's bothered about my age but this process has really hammered it home at every stage... totally know what you mean about feeling dried up and past it.

@Rumtopf I hope EC goes ok, fingers crossed for you. Can I ask, is anyone here at Manchester Fertility or Create, if so, I'd be really interested to here your experience as we are looking to privately fund our next cycle and we're not sure where to go xx

@zebra80 I'm not normally bothered either. Freaked about turning 30 but 40 and now 41 was just fine. Doesn't help my daughter is about to turn 18!

We signed up for a 2 fresh cycle deal and this is our second, I really don't want to sink any more money into it as we're about £13k down already. So if this doesn't work that's it, I feel so utterly sorry for my dh as although he is a brilliant Dad to my dd he wants his own bio child too. Pressure!

Anyway, upsides I guess are we have 2 looking good and my lining is triple layer and 10.5mm and I soon have a few days off from injections!

@Rumtopf fingers crossed the smaller ones catch up. But as you say, you have two that are looking good so you’re not out!

I’ve just had my ET, all went well! It all feels really surreal at the moment, but I’m on my way home with a smile on my face. OTD is 25th October and my DH has made me promise we’ll wait till then 🙃 We waited the full two weeks when we did iui so we’ll see if we can hold out again xx

@HavingFaith eek exciting! If I get to transfer on Monday I’ll be testing on this day as well. My clinic is 16 days post egg collection which takes me to 25th although I’ll see what they say officially. X

@J1984 i am sorry for the news. Its a horrendous process. Try to take some time and assess things with clearer mind as one failed ivf attempt doesnt mean a second one as well.

Can i ask how you guys were on progynova? I dont seem to have major effects (its the third day today) apart from slight lightheaded and a headache! I am On 3x 2 mg per day and taking them morning lunchtime and evening. Also on buseralin 0.2 ml. I am worried that they might not work or iam taking them
Wrongly! I checked all the medication just to make sure i am not taking the wrong one!
