Sept IVF/FET

I can’t see a Sept cycle up yet so thought I’d start one. Currently TTC #2. Our March FET was postponed due to Covid and we had a FET in July which sadly resulted in a BFN last week. Had our follow up last night and to our surprise we can try again straight away so signing consents next week and starting down reg in 2.5 weeks. Told the cycle went perfectly and must have been an embryo issue so we aren’t changing protocol but going for double embryo transfer this time. Anyone else looking to cycle/ transfer in Sept? Or am I a bit early/ keen 😂

I’m sorry @ivfjourney5 that sucks. It’s so unfair. Is it a case of too far on in the cycle to continue with the meds to try and thicken it? The consent forms are a pain in the ass! I got so angry completing the last ones and repeating all the information again. I can’t remember if they last 3 or 6 months; you’d hope in your situation if need be they’d be lenient!

Sorry to anyone else who hasn’t had the news they hoped. It really is like a knife digging in. I remember before I knew anything about ivf I thought that it was a sure thing. Then I thought it was only the pregnancy test stage that could bring bad news - boy was I wrong.

And congrats to those with better news and successful egg retrieval’s - one step closer

@all sorry I haven't been on.. I've got news all the hcg as negative now so I'm waiting on my period so looks I'm nearly ready yay zzz this has been a long 14weeks but In a way relived an can move on to my next journey..

@poupou this was exactly me yesterday at work, I cried when someone looked at me the wrong way haha. Let it out when you need to, I’ve spent more time in the toilets sorting my makeup recently then I have at my desk. Keep your chin up.

Egg transfer went well. The embryologist was very happy as was the nurse so fingers crossed now is the looonnng 2WW!

I don’t have a good news story for you but my DH did just made me chuckle...he just put a wash on and got the shock of his life when he came across a cyclogest hit pair of knickers!! TMI I know, but he was so baffled and concerned, made me laugh until my stomach hurt!

@AutumnHoping No I'm past the point of more meds unfortunately, lining only grew 0.2mm after 6 days on a higher dose of progynova and I'm still way off the minimum for transfer. Fingers crossed the 3 or 6 months is the same for my clinic x

@monsterad my husband works offshore so I've gone through the stims, egg collection, and now a cancelled FET on my own as I don't have much contact with him when he's away. It's all just shit timing x

@HavingFaith I know, I wasn't expecting to speak to them so soon! Hopefully means I won't dwell on this for too long and I'll get some dates to look forward to! Ahhhh god that's hilarious, just made me laugh out loud! I've heard they can be very messy!! Thanks for the laugh!

Actually @ivfjourney5 we actually did our last online. So both had a link and had to do our own - but even hopefully that’s an option if need be - but I know every clinic differs. So rubbish for you and to be on your own too x

Hope you don’t mind me joining on. I’m in the middle of all this ivf business. I’m on day 9 of STIMS and feel I need some support as I’ve had a bit of bleeding today and feeling so paranoid that there’s something not going as well as hoped!

Hi everyone thanks for all you kind messages. We’ll have another go at it. I’ve ordered a few more vitamins and try to eat more nourishing food. Feeling a bit flat today, but not defeated. Will keep an eye on this thread, wishing you all the best of luck xx

@J1984 I am so sorry to hear your news. I really hope that you get some better news tomorrow. If not make sure you and your wife look after each other. It sounds like you already do.

@ivfjourney5 after all your determination to thicken it up! I cant remember who it was but someone mentioned previously loads different things they had trialled to thicken their lining. At least on Monday you can have a consultation and a plan made knowing that this was just a trial and there are lots of other options available. Next time it won't dare to defy you knowing you have all the stock from Holland and Barratt ready from the start! Do you have family or a friend who know you are doing ivf? I cant imagine how brave you are doing all of this while your OH is away so you can't lean on each other for support.

@UnicornPuff hello. Yes I rang they said it wasn’t usually the norm. But could be ok. But they will have a look at my scan tomoz (I was due a scan in the morning anyway). I’m just in a panic now... feeling like we may not get to the egg collection.

I do the cetrotide the same time as gonal f - do you think this coupled disrupt growth? The nurses said it was ok but it can be deemed counterproductive?

@ChicaXS that’s exactly how I felt so it’s a good sign and I stimmed for 13-14 days in total (I think) So fingers crossed there is some growth tomorrow. I’m not sure about that drug as I was on Fyremadel in the morning and gonal F in the evening. Xx

@ChicaXS hello thank you for the welcome. It went fine. Lining was good, 11 follicles on the right 3 on the left, scan was yesterday. So I’m gutted about this today hopefully it’s nothing 🤞

I’m day 9 of stims and feeling heavy too.

I have endometriosis quite severely (but all outside the uterus - bladder bowel and either side) so doctors say it technically shouldn’t affect conception.

Yes I'm in long estrace protocol. I'm starting round 2 after round 1 none of my embryos survived. Ugh the weight gain struggle given all these meds is real! I'm on estrace, testosterone for another couple weeks before I start Ganirelix. I'm trying to use this time to work out more and lose some of round 1's pounds before I start injections.

Hi, quick question for those using Lentogest. What size needle did you use? I have a few different ones in the box and not sure if I used the right one (first Lentogest today). I have a 1 inch and a 2 inch and used the 1 inch (the 2 looked huge!). Anyone know they are using?

@HavingFaith a little but not as much. I have been getting some very low down sharp twinges but it’s not painful 🤷‍♀️. I’m almost afraid to go to the toilet in case I see a big blob of red 😩. No symptoms is not a bad sign. Bit of a minefield this IVF business. I hope your doing ok otherwise xxx
