A new thread to carry on supporting each other as the old one was full.

Just out of interest @Rumtopf, what's the process for an FET? How much does it differ drugs wise from IVF?

Good luck to everyone that's had promising news. I'm so glad things are moving for you!

Whilst you've missed this month @CarbsAndCheese, knowing June is likely is a positive and much better than the giant question mark that was over everything before.

Rumtopf · 13/05/2020 20:42

@PinkTruffle I've got to start Progynova on cd2 and aspirin. No downreg for me as my levels are too low and I'm getting older so they don't think it necessary. Then scan on day10, another day 13 and then they'll tell me when transfer will be. They'll tell me at that point when to start Lubion, Clexane and Cyclogest.
I've had recurrent early miscarriages so I think they're being super cautious on the drugs front for post transfer.

SpyroC · 14/05/2020 09:03

It's good news that all the clinics are reopening and that you will finally get your transfers. I'd be starting down reg for cycle 2 tomorrow if I hadn't postponed. I still don't think my cycle is back to normal so I'm happy with my choice. Has anyone else had spotting around ovulation post ivf??

@CarbsAndCheese no partners at my clinic either. I don't mind though, the less people the lower the risk.

@SpyroC no I've not had spotting around ov but yesterday and the day before I've had awful lower stomach cramps and ended up doing a gentle yoga session at 2am this morning to try and stretch my tummy out. Still a bit weepy too.

How is everyone doing?

confused107 · 17/05/2020 12:59

@SpyroC it's strange you say that about the bleeding around ovulation. I started getting it after my last failed IVF. I told myself that maybe it was a good thing as I've heard it's a common symptom of ovulation but not sure what it means to be honest

@Rumtopf sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it

SpyroC · 17/05/2020 22:29

@confused107 I'm glad I'm not the only one then. Did it settle down?

Sorry to hear about your pain @Rumtopf I had some sharp pains a few days before my Lh surge so I guess it's just ovaries not being fully recovered after all the prodding. I just hope in my case it's not an endometrioma as my painful ovulation has been much better since I had one of them treated over a year ago.

I hope this next cycle works. IVF really is a mental and physical challenge.

I hope everyone else is doing well x

Had 12 week scan today although it's more like 13.5 weeks. They tried to change my due date. She was dating a fresh cycle wrong, saw the baby and changed it back. Getting out of the fertility centre and early pregnancy centre to mainstream that can happen.

Saw brain divided across hemispheres, a thin neck, the face in profile, the stomach, legs, hand and feet. It kind of waved at one point which was both cute and like a creepy skeleton hand. Def the father's child trolling me in utero!

Pee test was odd- had to carry it around for two rooms! We all did. Lots of sympathetic smiles from mum to mum.

Bloods were many. For the first time blood taking made a noise like the sound of a glass filling up and I had to retreat somewhere safe in my head. I kid you not I thought about donuts- the pink Homer Simpson kind!

All in all, the 12 week scan is easy. Still no partners. One lady's mom was sent away. I now have a folder to take with each time which will make switching locations easy. But I feel reassured and hope you will too soon.

@PickleKid great news, pics look fab! Shame it’s still no partners 😩 my scan is 27th although I’m 12 weeks on Thursday.

PickleKid · 19/05/2020 20:27

We're pretty ok with it. We saw this coming and are prepared for it to be the whole time. He made the transfer. As long as he makes the birth that's what matters to me. That said he's super squeamish, and I think his sister would be a better birth partner.

He's leaning into 50's dad and is prepping the Southampton flat doing all the toxic stuff like damp proofing while I am away in London doing medical and getting rid of the flat here.

You can tell what kind of unsentimental pragmatic people we are. 🤣

Pinktruffle · 19/05/2020 20:27

Aww some great photos @PickleKid. Glad to hear all is good. Mine is on Friday, I'll be 13+1

PickleKid · 19/05/2020 20:29

We'll be waiting for those next scan photos then @Pinktruffle!

confused107 · 19/05/2020 22:16

Brilliant photos @PickleKid and thank you for sharing your experience. Mine is a week on Friday. I will be 13+1 then. Wish it were at 12 weeks but I understand things are very different at the moment. Letter states no partners. We are not too worried about that and if the NHS scan goes well will likely have another private scan so that my husband can see

Rumtopf · 20/05/2020 23:51

@Picklekid what lovely pictures! Glad all is coming well for you, atm I think that pragmatic is definitely the way to go.

Pinktruffle · 22/05/2020 16:22

I had my scan today. All looked good, baby was jumping around and doing somersaults, it's weird to think it's moving that much and I can't even feel it. The midwife let me make a sneaky video for DH so he was really pleased.

Oh @Pinktruffle that's wonderful news. Massive congratulations x

Rumtopf · 22/05/2020 16:44

@PinkTruffle what brilliant news and a great picture! So lovely that you could video it for your dh too.

Twins2girls · 22/05/2020 17:04

@Pinktruffle wow what a great picture! I will ask if I can get a sneaky video too when I have mine next week

Pinktruffle · 22/05/2020 17:58

Thank you all! It all feels so real now x

PickleKid · 22/05/2020 18:31

Congrats @Pinktruffle Lovely picture. Yours is really clear even the legs to feet. Glad you go to see movement! Mine did stretches. You're right, seeing it happen on the screen but not detecting it yet is so strange. Soon baby will be kicking your bladder so best enjoy it now! x

granddesigns · 24/05/2020 12:12

Hello ladies - looking back this thread started and I joined a long time ago - how much has changed since then! Just to update we have got the green light to start and we began down reg on Friday with transfer scheduled for mid June. Not felt the effects too much yet - anyone who has had prostap did it kick it at once, build up, get worse as the time went on? Also, ladies who were stopped and are restarting FETs is there a thread you are on together - I can see a few but not spotted names I recognise- happy to make new contacts but was looking out for anyone in the same boat as us!

CarbsAndCheese · 24/05/2020 13:40

Lovely photos @Pinktruffle @PickleKid! Looking forwards to seeing the same from @confused107 and @Twins2girls.

@granddesigns I was originally going to have a natural cycle FET but decided to switch to medicated so that I could remove some of the uncertainty and book the right week off work. I have just finished my week of norethisterone and will start oestrogen tablets on Friday. No prostap for me so I can’t help there! Transfer should be 15th June. I have also been looking for a thread for people going again but couldn’t find one. Should we make a new one or stay here? I’m just cautious of upsetting anyone who isn’t doing another round etc, but really appreciated the support last time and would like to have it again!

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2020 15:40

Thank you @CarbsAndCheese!

I don't know how others feel but I would love for you guys to carry on discussing your future treatment in this thread @Carbsandcheese and @granddesignsgranl. I feel quite invested in everyone's journeys in this thread and would like to know how things are going for you all. Beat of luck to you both xxx

PickleKid · 24/05/2020 16:28

It's true. I've had a trouble getting excited about my own pregnancy because after all this time I just can't seem to comprehend it. But when each of you has had good news- a pregnancy or the next round starting- I am truly so happy for you. I have friends who are "regular pregnant" now and the excitement and support from one IVFer to another is truly something special.

granddesigns · 25/05/2020 07:44

Thank you @PickleKid and @Pinktruffle - it's good to see your updates too! I share your thoughts exactly @CarbsAndCheese so wanted to check before posting too much - looks like the actual transfer will put us in sync again as we are scheduled for 16/17 June too! Still ok and pretty much symptom free for now.... probably not too much to update for the next week or so if things continue as they are (we have a scan next week to review and start on the oestrogen tabs etc). Watching carefully the latest guidance as lockdown changes as we have been told to avoid contact with anyone from down reg injection to transfer and then follow latest guidance- dh joking we may be home till Christmas and/or leave lockdown as 3 if us rather than 2!

SpyroC · 25/05/2020 09:04

I am obviously at a different stage but I still check back here every so often to see how you are all getting on. I vote that you stay too. It's like an incomplete thread. It's funny that my triplet sisters are now twins! It would be lovely to see some more bfps too. @granddesigns @CarbsAndCheese

Congratulations on the scans @PickleKid and @Pinktruffle. X
