Hi @granddesigns so happy you are already speaking to the clinic and that you might not wait the summer. That's such great news!

Where did people read about IVF starting back up?My friend is never in these groups and I want to send it to her.

We did EC on the same day but she had 21 to my 18 so she's had to wait!

It's funny how IVF changes you and you want this so bad for others too.

CarbsAndCheese · 02/05/2020 11:08

Hi everyone, I also took a little break from the group when I didn’t know what would be happening. I’ve just checked back and it is lovely to read all of your good news!

I’ve just had a phone call with my clinic and I am top of the list for a transfer in mid June which I am super happy about! I can’t believe it has happened so quickly after the weeks of uncertainty. Who else was cancelled and is hoping to transfer in the next couple of months? @granddesigns and who else?

SpyroC · 02/05/2020 11:38

Hi all, it's lovely to see our successes are all still going strong. I too have re-surfaced after yesterday's news. (@Rumtopf it's on the HFEA site, I believe it also got a mention from Matt Hancock) I'm so glad those of you that got paused will get to resume sooner we than anticipated. My clinic are happy for me to start a fresh cycle too. I've already completed the consents but I think I'm going to wait another cycle.

How has everyone's post ivf cycle been? X

@granddesigns that's great about the grading of your embryos and how quickly it looks like you'll be booked in.

@CarbsandCheese good news for you too!

@SpyroC glad you've heard too and are looking at your next steps, how have you been getting on?

I'm waiting for our consents to pop up on our portal tomorrow and then we'll get them signed off. My period arrived today and I seriously hope it's nowhere near as awful as the post EC one was. My hormones have been all over the place all month. How about everyone else?
Hopefully, we'll be able to start our FET on my next cycle, June 1st. I'm feeling quite giddy about it.

SpyroC · 04/05/2020 19:22

@Rumtopf I spoke to my clinic again this morning and officially told them I'm going to wait until my next day 1. Which was hard to say but I feel it's for the best to have another full cycle to leave my body alone. Doing the consents was so much easier 2nd time around! My period has been awful over the weekend, I can only remember 2 being worse ever! My withdrawal one was fine so hopefully for you this one will be better-perhaps we are all treated to one extra painful post ivf one! I hope it returns to normal next time. Another reason for me not to rush back in to another cycle.

Rumtopf · 05/05/2020 09:22

@SpyroC that sounds sensible. So when will that cycle begin? Would be nice if the 4 of us going again were around the same time for support.

This one is a doozy too. Had to set my alarm to get up twice in the night and the cramps are quite breathtaking. Luckily I don't have a great deal to do today so can dose up on painkillers and chill.

granddesigns · 05/05/2020 10:38

@Rumtopf, @CarbsAndCheese looks like we might be similar timings possibly? Paving the way for @SpyroC fo follow the cycle after! Had a call from our clinic yesterday booking us in for consultation with nurse on a call next week and a scan before we start. Looks like we will be on for starting our FET about 22 may, so actual transfer in mid June. Excited, relieved, and nervous in equal measure and trying to work out what possible changes to lockdown and isolation might look like for the ladies restarting treatment and hopefully getting positive outcomes. Suspect I may not see much beyond the house and garden for a while!

PickleKid · 05/05/2020 10:58

@granddesigns I'd say that is true because even with the transition plan you might still be extra cautious. I don't think they would transfer if you came down with Covid just before. So lots of garden time for sure!

granddesigns · 05/05/2020 11:22

You're right @PickleKid - they are already saying temperature checks and social distancing at the clinic and DH not allowed in for the transfer - totally understand why and appreciate we can proceed. If they start to ease lockdown though as we progress through a cycle or in tww it's going to be a fine balance to strike- let's hope the phased relaxing of the lockdown rules means we are all safe and covered at home rather than being in awkward limbo land!

MrsLouB · 05/05/2020 11:28

hi all just checking in really great to see some clinics starting with tests again, i have a consultant catch up tomorrow and will be checking to see of we maybe able to go ahead on the next cycle may 21 for a FET around June. I think as long as the clinics have their plan in place to submit on the 11th May and guidelines are followed could be good. our clinic have said about waiting in the car until you are called in to minimise the waiting areas etc

Twins2girls · 05/05/2020 12:00

Just got my 12 week scan appt through, it’s in 3 weeks but my hubby isn’t allowed in 😢

confused107 · 05/05/2020 13:45

So pleased to see everyone's treatment starting up again. It's horrible being in limbo and there is good evidence for the success of frozen transfers so fingers crossed for more success stories

I think things are going to be different for a while. We had our temperatures checked before entering the clinic, and I did again last week when I went for my bloods. I have received a letter saying that my 16 week midwife and consultant appointments will be by telephone. No 12 week scan letter yet but I expect I will have to go alone

As I haven't had my 12 week scan date yet and the midwife said it could be up to14 weeks we have decided to go for a private scan this evening. I'm still very anxious and feel that I need to know that everything is ok. I just can't imagine waiting another month and of course there is the added bonus that my DH can come too. If it's bad news I don't want to be on my own.

@pinktruffle are you having a scan this week too?

Twins2girls · 05/05/2020 15:39

@confused107 you are lucky to have found a private scan that will also let your hubby in too! Hope it all goes ok x

Pinktruffle · 05/05/2020 16:13

@confused107 I have a private scan booked for tomorrow. The email said in exceptional circumstances you can be accompanied by one person so I'm taking DH with me as I am incredibly anxious about it. I'll be 11 weeks at the end of this week. I'm hoping some of my anxiousness will ease once I'm in the second trimester.

I have my NHS scan a day or two shy of 14 weeks on 22nd May so I have 2 scans lined up but I'm guessing I will have to go alone for that one, though it doesn't say so on my letter.

I'm thinking of booking another private one for about 17 weeks, but my DH thinks I'm a bit over the too!

@twins2girls Do you have a Window to the Womb near you? Most of those are allowing partners to attend.

Pinktruffle · 05/05/2020 16:14

*that should say over the top

confused107 · 05/05/2020 16:40

@pinktruffle I'm using the fact that he won't be able to go to the NHS ones as a reason for the private ones (not the fact I'm going a bit crazy!). We have said that if all goes well with the pregnancy and he is not able to go to the 20 week one and we have an ok experience there today we will go back so that he can see. It's only £49 and it's very local to us

@twins2girls I'm not sure where you are based but I'm going to a place called meet your miracle. Think they have several place. Due to Clovid they are only allowing one person in with you. Apparently normally you are allowed up to 6! I can't think of 6 people I would want to invite if I'm honest, but it must be nice if you have other children to get siblings involved

Pinktruffle · 05/05/2020 16:45

I read that with Window to the Womb, they normally allow 6 people in! I cant imagine wanting to take anyone other than my DH in with me!! 6 people seems excessive.

I'm the only one with a crazy amount of anxiety then HmmConfused

Twins2girls · 05/05/2020 17:12

I think we will wait until after the 12 week scan before having a private one (hubby likes to do things the right way!) maybe things will change in the next 3 weeks, I’ll call the hospital the day before to check

SpyroC · 05/05/2020 18:36

@Rumtopf my day 1 should be the end of May So we will be starting treatment at a similar time but as mine is a new long protocol I'll probably still be DR when you and @granddesigns are at ET. I hope you both get lucky 1st time!

I hope our painful periods are normal! There was always a risk for me that the FSH would make the endo worse so it's reassuring that you have it to, not that I'm glad you gave it too of course! Just that it's likely a normal post ivf thing. If Sunday was a work day it was so bad I think I'd of had to call in sick!

I'm glad the rest of you have scans sorted. X

Rumtopf · 05/05/2020 22:31

Please come back and post your scan pics everyone!
It must be a bit daunting going in alone and it's great the private clinics are still allowing your oh's in too.

We haven't had as much detail as some of you from our clinic, that's making me think I'll give my nurse a call, although maybe after the 11th so they have proper advice to share. They just said I'll be on progynova from cd1 and then scan on day10 to assess, again on day14 and then transfer which will be mid June.

@SpyroC glad your pains have subsided now, I've stayed topped up with codeine today as I was having to breathe through the pain. This is normal for me anyway but I'd say it's heavier and goes on for longer than normal. I'm having some anxiety and racing heartbeat though and I can't tell if it's hormonal or just general anxiety about everything at the moment.

Twins2girls · 06/05/2020 07:24

@confused107 how did the scan go?

confused107 · 06/05/2020 08:22

Meet your miracle was actually a really nice experience. A massive screen and they played us the baby's heartbeat which was an amazing sound. I was 9 weeks 5 days and I couldn't believe how clear it was. Could see eyes and movement. Baby was waving its arms! Obviously they don't check all the things the NHS do at the 12 week scan but was measuring right and the heartbeat was at the speed expected. A massive relief and I'm glad I went. Here is a picture
