Yeah, Dr Google said its particularly common in week 8.
I will try and ring round some places on Monday. I hope I'm just overreacting

Pinktruffle · 18/04/2020 21:47

I've just been to the bathroom and I'm bleeding. I think I'm miscarrying again.

HD85 · 18/04/2020 22:40

Hi Just seen this thread. We’re currently on our 5th cycle of Clomid and no joy as yet so think IUI /IVF is next step for us. If you don’t mind me asking des anyone know in the UK
If you get the IUI cycle funded and then the ivf cycle funded too on the Nhs. Or is it only one or the other ?

Twins2girls · 18/04/2020 22:45

@Pinktruffle hope you are ok, see how you are in the morning, maybe do another test first thing and see if you can get booked in for a scan on Monday x

confused107 · 18/04/2020 23:04

@pinktruffle I hope you are ok. Is there an EPU you can call?

@HD85 sorry I don't know. We were not offered any IUI at any point, we went straight to IVF. One funded round only

PickleKid · 18/04/2020 23:27

@pinktruffle I hope it's just a temporary spot. Week 8 is a period week and sometimes the body will do that on the 4, 8, or 12. I hope it's just that. Sending you all the good thoughts right now. 💕

@HD85 IVF was the only thing that is funded by my health authority which is why the wait is so long. It was 9 months from when we qualified. It's quite a post code lottery on number of tries, age limit and other rules. Bear in mind no one is getting it right now so the list isn't moving. Of the women on this thread, most made it through. Some of the later ones were made to freeze all. Those after that weren't able to start at all, I'm afraid. You might want to prepare yourself that after Covid19 the funding models might change for new intakes and that going private might be better or faster depending on your situation. Good luck!

Pinktruffle · 18/04/2020 23:34

@confused107 I tried calling the numbers my midwife gave me and they said the EPU is closed.

I ended up calling the infertility nurse on call at my IVF clinic. She said that if they saw a heartbeat and everything was normal in the scan, its unusual for a miscarriage to happen after that but not unheard of. I dont have any current cramping but had lots during the day -she said it could possibly have been a clot that's worked it's way loose. My uterus feels very heavy though.

She said they came scan me as I've been discharged but to keep using my pessaries and to call my GP on Monday and ask to be send for a scan and to take it easy until then. She said if the bleeding gets a lot heavier to take another pregnancy test and to call her if I needed someone to talk to which I appreciated. So seems it's going to be a waiting game. I'm going to try my midwifes office tomorrow, the answerphone said they were open on weekends 8am till 11am and see if they can refer me to EPU for a scan tomorrow.

HD85 · 18/04/2020 23:35

Thanks @PickleKid yes definitely preparing myself for the worst now given all the cancellations that have happened.

Pinktruffle · 18/04/2020 23:37

That should say 'she said they can't scan me' at the beginning of the last sentence

PickleKid · 18/04/2020 23:54

I'm sorry you are going through this. Try to get some rest- of course, easier said than done. But the sooner you sleep, the sooner you can make that morning call. There's still hope. x

Rumtopf · 18/04/2020 23:57

@PinkTruffle she seems to have given you the best advice. Keep using the pessaries, rest as much as possible, try and get hold of the midwife and an appt at EPU. Fwiw I bled at 8, 12 and 16 weeks, enough to make me worry but not enough to harm my dd. The fact that they've seen the heartbeat is brilliant. Try to stay positive, am thinking of you as this is so difficult.

Rumtopf · 19/04/2020 00:00

@Picklekid so glad everything went well with your scan!

@HD85 I'm sorry I don't know, we never qualified for funding so are having to pay privately. It's very true though that the goalposts may move once this is all over.

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 00:13

@Rumtopf thank you. I hope it's nothing too serious. Can I ask how long you bled for if you don't mind? Was it a couple of hours or more like days?

Twins2girls · 19/04/2020 08:14

@Pinktruffle how are you this morning? We’re you able to call the midwife?

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 09:00

It doesn't look like I bled loads more overnight, there was a bit more in the sanitary towel but not loads. There is a lot of brown discharge but that could be dried blood from last night so will monitor it today.

I'm on hold to the midwifes office but I'm not convinced anyone is in as I've been number one in the queue for quite some time now.

I think it's going to have to be GP tomorrow and if they EPU wont see me, I'll try and get an private appointment a.s.a.p

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 09:04

They did answer, they recommended going to A&E and trying to get a scan there

confused107 · 19/04/2020 09:16

Glad it seems to have slowed down. I hope you manage to get a scan to put your mind at rest

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 10:52

I went to A&E and they refused to scan me, just did a urine test and sent me home so now I just wait in limbo till God knows when

Rumtopf · 19/04/2020 11:20

Sorry @pinktruffle I fell asleep. If I remember rightly I had a day of bright red blood and some light cramps and needed a sanitary towel, then 2 days ish of light brown to dark brown spotting, just when I went to the loo and wiped. It also throws off blood tests that you have later on and I was told that my dd was high risk for spina bifida and I had to have more frequent monitoring scans - she was fine. There's so much to worry about. Try to take it easy today.

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 11:30

I have booked a private scan for tomorrow evening..... just a long wait till then.

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 11:33

No worries, thanks for the reply @Rumtopf. That seems to be similar to what I'm experiencing. Bleeding seems to have stopped fairly quick, it was about half a sanitary towel if that. Lots of dark and light brown discharge today. The EPU told the A&E doc that I should wear a panty liner rather than a sanitary towel and if I fill that to call EPU - though it doesn't appear they will do anything other than talk to me.

Twins2girls · 19/04/2020 12:55

@Pinktruffle I really hope everything goes ok for you and you are able to have some piece of mind at the scan tomorrow evening 🤞 just rest until then but keep your mind busy x

Pinktruffle · 19/04/2020 14:37

The bleeding has started again. The EPU have finally agreed to see me at 8.40 tomorrow morning. I think I will have miscarried by then, the bleeding is heavy now

confused107 · 19/04/2020 16:06

I'm so sorry to hear your update @Pinktruffle I'm praying this isn't the case and that all will be ok tomorrow

Twins2girls · 19/04/2020 16:26

@Pinktruffle I really feel for you, hope it’s just a false alarm, stay strong x
