@CharlotteCx yes the mass was only seen on Saturday so I’m lucky in that I got seen so quickly, the ultrasound on Saturday was to follicle count for this cycle.
Yeah definitely worth asking to have clomid for longer if you’re ovulating and don’t want to go down the IUI air IVF route. I was just so impatient, although now it is easier second time around. I think the reason they’re hesitant is the lack of long term studies and the effect of unopposed oestrogens on future cancer risk etc

I’m replicating everything I did the month I got pregnant with my son but I need to find some time to go to the gym as healthy eating isn’t getting my weight down like last time.

@Goingbacktokansascity yes that is really lucky you were seen so quickly! Was this private? Yeah I'll deffinatly ask for them to extend my time on it if after the 7 months I don't fall, hopefully I do though I think I need to be dtd more though so if I don't fall this month next month I'll be at it like a rabbit haha. Yes Iv heard that Clomid increase the risk of cancer but tbh, what doesn't increase the risk of cancer these days?! I think my gynae will happily do that for me once he sees they are making me ovulate, well I hope he will. But I need to get out of this negative mind frame, thinking that I'll need to extend my time on them etc. Need to think positively and hope and pray I'll fall pregnant real soon 🤞🏻

Ahh okay! That's a good idea. How are you feeling? Symptoms or anything??

Report
Goingbacktokansascity · 07/11/2019 16:10

@CharlotteCx no symptoms! I’m not sure if I’ve even ovulated yet as the cyst seen today could be a follicle about to rupture or a corpus luteum so continuing to DTD until next week and then I’ll give it a break, what about you?
Luckily I was seen on the NHS 😌 I have my letrozole on the NHS abut because I have my son won’t be eligible for anything more. I do private follicle tracking scans sometimes but I’m going to stop that and save the money towards IVF (if needed).

@Goingbacktokansascity yeah just carry on dtd until next week to be safe! I just feel really sick today for some reason and headache but that could be anything. I am I'll so not getting my hopes up. Oh that's good you were seen on the NHS, suprised you were seen so quickly with them too! Normally there's such a long waiting list isn't there. Well least your getting the tablets on the NHS so gives you more of a chance to save for the IVF, if needed.

@CharlotteCx I think working in the hospital probably doesn’t hurt 😂 the tablets always give me nausea and headaches, last time I got pregnant they just got worst until second trimester 😌

@Goingbacktokansascity haha no that's true. I found the only symptom I've had with Clomid is the hot flushes in the middle of the night when I'm taking the tablets, but every month could be different. You just never know lol

That’s exciting congratulations @doomkittycleo!

Also just to ask @CharlotteCx did you get prescribed 7 months of Clomid? I had six but they told me that was the maximum so I am just curious x

@Goingbacktokansascity what a relief! Yay!

@doomkittycleo oh my goodness congratulations! Stupid question - is there a possibility that it's the ivf meds still in your system making the test positive? Or are you sure that you've not had any that would affect the test? It's a very clear positive. How do you feel? Eeeeek!!!

@seven201 I did wonder that, but the trigger shot was 14 days ago now. All the women in the IVF group have agreed it’d be out of my system by now.

Also I took an internet cheapie yesterday evening and the same brand again same time this evening to see if it was darker and it was. If it was the trigger the line would be getting lighter, not darker.

@doomkittycleo amazing, congratulations 🥳

@carleygh well I got given my first lot of tablets last month, but wasn't prescribed any more. So when the 1st cycle was unsuccessful I went to my drs to and he prescribed me with another 6 months so yeah, in total 7 months x

carleygh · 07/11/2019 21:39

@CharlotteCx that’s good for you, it’s so interesting to hear how areas can differ as they are adamant six months is the maximum x

Report
CharlotteCx · 07/11/2019 21:41

@carleygh where do you live? It does differ massively in every county! I don't know if he meant to give me an extra month but I won't complain 🤣 I was saying earlier I'm going to ask my gyno if I can go on it for 12 months if by the 7th month I don't fall. What cycle are you on?

I’m in Southampton @CharlotteCx
I’m on my last cycle of Clomid now (6th) and then got my review 9/12 where they will decide what to do next - I know she mentioned a hormonal injection but I have no idea what that is? X

@doomkittycleo I am so so so happy for you!!!!

CharlotteCx · 07/11/2019 22:26

@carleygh ah okay! Have the clomid been making you ovulate all of the 6 cycles? Oh I don't have a clue what a hormonal injection is?! X

Yes I had a blood test and internal on both 1st and 4th round and both showed ovulation and good sized follicles. We will see what this month brings as I’m due to ovulate next week fingers crossed. Me neither I guess I will wait and find out x

@carleygh so frustrating when they make
You ovulate but still do not concieve .. ovulation is just the first hurdle to get over. Have they mentioned ivf or anything to you if the 6th cycle doesn't work? Maybe try asking your gyno if you can have it for 12 months just say you'd like a bit more time... x

@carleygh they probably mean they will try you on gonadotropin injections next which can work to induce ovulation also, I think the rational for this if you’ve already been ovulating on clomid would be to do a thing called superovulation where you release more than one egg to hope that one fertilises I think!

Report
carleygh · 08/11/2019 07:34

@CharlotteCx it is very frustrating but unfortunately out of my control so still
Trying more than ever this month to keep a positive mindset... They mentioned this particular injection and then the next step after that would be IVF, it’s more frustrating as there is nothing wrong with either of us so almost very baffling!

@Goingbacktokansascity oh reallt that’s interesting is the superovulation done with the injection? X

Thanks for all the positive comments all, those if you that have on this forum for a while know that although my clomid journey ended a while ago I’ve found this to be of great support during this time.

I hope we see some more BFP’s very soon!!!
