Morning ladies. My flo app had my predicted ovulation as today but I got a negative CB ovulation stick this morning 🙁 Hopefully I ovulate in the next few days! 🤞🏼 xxx

@JadeS174 sorry to hear that! Just keep testing! I don't think you can rely 100% on these apps and ovulation, I didn't ovulate when my app said I was going to either!

We managed to dtd 3 days in a row after my peak, last night cos OH knew I'd had ovulated the Friday - it was fine! Was back to the fun sex we normally have! Isn't it strange how just the word 'ovulation' scares the life out of him! 🤣 how is everyone today?

@JadeS174 I am in the same position, keep waiting for a positive OPK but haven't had one yet. What CD are you?? I am CD14 so hoping maybe tomorrow or Tuesday 🤞

If you's are using CB digi opks - if it makes you feel any better I had 10 days of flashing smiley before I got my peak this month at CD15.

@CharlotteCx glad you managed to DTD around ovulation. Hope this is your month 🤞🏼 x

@dragonfly1978 I'm on CD19 today and no positive OPK. I'm only testing first thing in the morning so I suppose I could have missed it? If not hopefully I will ovulate in the next few days. X

Hey @JadeS174 you're the same as me. Flo says ovulating today but I've done a test yesterday and two today and both negative. Not sure I'm going to ovulate this month as I didn't have a proper period at all x

This is a really random question but I wondered if you ladies had any ideas on what things I should be asking in my review tomorrow.

I've finished my rounds of Clomid but I want to go prepared with questions, in my head I don't want to just be fobbed off and given something else to take if there is a problem to why I'm not conceiving as it is just masking the problem. Neither of us have any problems which have been detected by the tests they've done but I feel there is a reason for my very short and light periods (last two months they lasted a day and weren't heavy enough for a tampon). I personally think my progesterone could be low so I'm going to ask about that x

Report
CharlotteCx · 08/12/2019 21:01

@carleygh I'd say your progesterone is low which is why your periods are light and only last a day or two. Could you not ask to have your Clomid extended and ask for progesterone disposatrties (don't know what their called) ?? X

I'm 2DPO and I'm not just symptom spotting but my boobs are sore already! Do you think that's the rise in progesterone causing it? X

carleygh · 08/12/2019 21:13

I think so too 🙄 they last got tested 9 months ago and 7 months ago they said they were back to normal but not been tested since.

I've ordered some progesterone cream.

I've already done 6 months and that's the cap for me because of the cancer risk so I wouldn't want to risk any more as there is a reason for them capping it at 6 months so I wouldn't want to push it just incase :(

Yes I would definitely say that's down to the rise @CharlotteCx how exciting though! X

CharlotteCx · 08/12/2019 21:50

@carleygh what they tested your progesterone then?

Yeah I get that, thing is though they do give some lady's it for a year .. so I don't see the risk being that high if they can give it to some longer than others? Also, so many things are at risk of giving you cancer! That's how I see it anyway. Maybe just ask to see what they say? I just think they say a 'normal healthy' couple it could take up to a year to concieve so why not give us a years worth! I get the risks etc but has that been proven?

Progesterone peaks at 6-8 days after ovulation though so god knows why my boobs are starting to feel tender already?! Wonder what's going on in there lol x

They did along with thyroid etc. I just wouldn't like to risk it and also there is research to prove the longer you're on it, the chances of falling pregnant decreases. I just personally would not want to risk it, the doctors have reasons to not let us and cancer is common in our family so I would prefer not too.

When did you ovulate? @CharlotteCx x

@CharlotteCx Totally with you with the sore boobs, not just my nips anymore!! 😂

@carleygh Yes I'd heard that if you're not pregnant after 6 months on clomid then it's very unlikely to work. It's a shame letrozole isn't licensed for fertility use in this country, in the US it seems that that is often the next step which often works.

Really what's that @Beth804
Sore boobs is a good sign 😍

@carleygh I think it's a cancer drug, but works really well for fertility issues. It's always mentioned on American sites!! Google it! 😂

Sylva123 · 09/12/2019 08:24

@Beth804 they've given me Letrozole to start next month. @carleygh it might be worth asking if they'd do that for you. She explained it works in a slightly different way to clomid. It's a breast cancer drug and works by lowering the oestrogen. I have that plus cyclogest (progesterone), but only did one go on clomid so I don't know if you can only do both of them for 6 months

Report
Beth804 · 09/12/2019 08:32

Oh really @Sylva123 I didn't think it was licensed here for fertility. That's good though! Are you private or NHS if you don't mind me asking?

JadeS174 · 09/12/2019 08:34

@carleygh Yay. Got my solid smiley on CB opk this morning! CD20. Any luck for you? Also if it helps my period was super light last month, the lightest I'd ever had. Fingers crossed that we do ovulate! XxX

Sylva123 · 09/12/2019 08:36

@Beth804 I'm NHS. It's weird, I had such a terrible experience at the start but recently they have been amazing. They also gave me the HCG shot. Apparently my Dr also consults privately at Harley St so I wonder if that's why. She gave me Letrozole cos my lining was thinning from clomid. The leaflet inside is all about breast cancer and nothing about fertility so she told me to ignore that!

Report
carleygh · 09/12/2019 08:46

Oh thanks @Sylva123 I'll ask today when I go in, I would have no idea if they'd combine both but if it works different it's worth a go.
I might ask about the shot you just mentioned too?

Unfortunately not @JadeS174 I don't think I will as last month I don't even think it was a proper period it was that light - not even heavy enough for a pad just a liner. I was due to ovulate yesterday and still not got it :( due on period the 24th I'm cycle day 11 so we will see. X

Report
Sylva123 · 09/12/2019 09:29

The HCG shot brings on ovulation in a 32 hour window, so helps with timing. I don't think I'm getting it next month. Just got lucky that I had an appointment on a day she was feeling generous last month!
They told me they'd do IVF if clomid/letrozole didn't work after 3 months so they might suggest that as the next step for you @carleygh? Though I think you're younger than me. I'm 36 so time is ticking on...
