Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@Betsyboo87 oh congratulations! Seems a super clear positive

And @Marmite83 great news about af! Our 2ww will probably coincide a bit. Let us know how it goes on Friday. When do you think embryo transfer might fall?

Marmite83 · 16/10/2019 21:25

@sometimesalways, I suspect transfer will be sometime around 2/3 Nov but first I need my lining at the baseline scan to be nice and thin. My consultant told me there's a chance it could not be after a mmc. Really hope it's ok!

Fingers crossed and positive thoughts for Friday! @Marmite83

Betsyboo87 · 17/10/2019 09:49

Thanks everyone. We had the result confirmed with a blood test this morning. Still feeling quite cautious and very different to how I though I would.

@LillyLeaf I hope she arrives soon so you can get going.

@Marmite83 fingers crossed for Friday. I’m sure it’ll be absolutely fine.

LillyLeaf · 17/10/2019 09:57

I had cramps that woke me up at 4am, but no af yet. I think the Buserelin really draws it out.

justtheonethen · 17/10/2019 10:05

My period started, never been so happy to say that Grin
Started progynova and have my scan to check lining next Friday.

sometimesalways · 17/10/2019 12:00

@Betsyboo87 that's wonderful! I had no symptoms with my first pregnancy so there's no right way to feel I think.. But I am always cautious with these things too so I know where you are coming from.

So nice to see af has arrived for a few of you and you can get things going! It's such a relief when things start moving again isn't it

I just had my first scan to track follicles/ovulation in my natural cycle and looks like I might even ovulate tomorrow so things will move even quicker now! Lining was thankfully looking nice and thick and another scan is booked for tomorrow to confirm and start next phase, relieved but also nervous!

Marmite83 · 17/10/2019 12:52

That all sounds positive @sometimesalways.

Nice to see there's a few of us at a similar stage so we can all support each other through the process. @Lillyleaf, I hope af turns up soon for you!

@Betsyboo87 tentative congratulations! Crossing everything for you!

@Maggie9000 how are you doing?

I haven't been here for a while but still around and followed the threads.

AFM, flying to the clinic tomorrow and have transfer on Saturday. Gone through DE process and have 12 top quality blasts in the freezer. Will be transferring only 1. Can't believe the time has finally come. It's been a journey and a half! Failed IUIs, IVFs with my own eggs, trisomy in 18. 3 MCs. All in the space of 18 months. Big sigh 😔
Hopefully it will be my last trip home/clinic for fertility purposes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

LillyLeaf · 17/10/2019 17:28

@Russkispy that's really exciting. Will you just fly out for one day?

Af still hasn't arrived but I've had period pains all day so I'm thinking it will arrive tonight or in the morning, I just wish it would get a move on.

Russkispy · 17/10/2019 17:45

@LillyLeaf flying tomorrow afternoon and appointment is in Saturday morning, and yes, I'll fly back in the afternoon. I was flying to the clinic for the last 3 weeks! And it's enough! Just want to get it done and "chill" as it were.

sometimesalways · 17/10/2019 19:01

@Russkispy good luck! Very exciting. And we will be 'relaxing' together during our 2ww I think... if my calculations are right I should be doing embryo transfer on Tuesday or Wednesday if I ovulate tomorrow.

Does anybody know if we start counting from ovulation day if we want to transfer day 5 blasts? Or the day after? Which is day 1??

Russkispy · 17/10/2019 19:10

@sometimesalways it would be nice to have a "relaxing" tww buddy. Can't answer your question as I don't even know when i ovulated! I'm just doing what my doc tells me! I don't even know what cd I am at right now!
Just wait for transfer and into tww. Always been laid back in any of my tww, and never been an early tester. Will do HPT when it comes to it. My clinic always ask for HCG but won't do it this time as my dad is over visiting us st that time and we're keeping it all hush hush! I'm in Kent and HCG test in London! Might do when he leaves! Hopefully we will have BFP by then! Way ahead of myself but call it positive thinking! Grin

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 17/10/2019 20:28

@sometimesalways
My clinic uses the following rules when it comes to natural FET and ovulation.....

Surge in the morning before 4pm - you count the following day as day zero (ovulation day) and the day after that as day 1 - transfer will then be on day 5

Surge in the evening after 4pm - it's not the following day but the day after that you count as day zero (ovulation day)

sometimesalways · 17/10/2019 22:43

I love your thinking @Russkispy
Looking forward to our 2ww with hopefully a lovely positive outcome. I think doing bloods when you can is a good idea. Fingers crossed!

And thank you @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted that is very helpful and it makes sense... now to nail that LH surge

Russkispy · 18/10/2019 07:42

@sometimesalways thanks! Let's hope your transfer is soon enough and we will sail through tww and nail it! And no early testing! Grin

Betsyboo87 · 18/10/2019 09:49

Best of luck @Russkispy. I hope both the trip and the transfer go smoothly.

Marmite83 · 19/10/2019 09:42

Hope your appointment goes well today @Russkispy.

Any sign of af @LillyLeaf?

Baseline scan was all fine for me yesterday. I have a possible cyst on my left ovary but that's fairly standard for me because of my endo. I have to start opks on Wed and have a scan booked for Friday. So relieved to finally get going!

Here i am, lovely ladies. All went well! Lining was 9.28. Blast thawed out without any issues. Planted in a perfect place, my doc held my hand and said a little prayer, then had IV drip and acupuncture. Loaded with drugs and on my way to the airport. Again. Haha was told to do HCG on 28 and 30 October but dad is coming next week and it will be tricky for me to go to London. So will do FRER and HCG after he leaves. Let’s just hope it’s all good news at the end!

It felt a little weird during transfer. I know it’s not 100% my blast but it had my name on it when the embryologist dished it out and inserted into a catheter. But it’s my baby! All being positive, will carry and nurture it for 9 months! There’s no fear or worry but just want it to be BFP and consequently a healthy baby. Or two. Hmmm

sometimesalways · 19/10/2019 12:10

Yay great news and good luck @Russkispy
Wishes for healthy baby for you!
Have a safe flight home

And @Marmite83 good news with you too, see? All is going to plan! It's so great when our bodies cooperate.

I am heading for another scan as we speak. Opk was flashing face still this morning.
How long are your cycles normally @Marmite83 ?

Russkispy · 19/10/2019 12:33

@sometimesalways thank you! Good luck with the scan and hopefully you join me in tww next week! 🤞🏻

@Marmite83 thank you! And glad things are progressing!

LillyLeaf · 20/10/2019 18:35

@Russkispy so pleased your transfer went well, everything crossed for you.

@Marmite83 so pleased your baseline went well, I sometimes have a random cyst at baseline but they never seemed that concerned.

@sometimesalways how was your scan? Any closer?

My af FINALLY arrived today and was incredibly painful so hopefully it done it's job. I can't believe I had 4 days of cramps before it started, but I have read other forums that Buserelin can do that. I have my baseline scan tomorrow but I'm not hopeful. At every baseline scan something is wrong, usually my lining is still too thick and need to down reg a bit longer so preparing for that usual outcome.

Russkispy · 20/10/2019 22:11

@LillyLeaf thank you! Sorry AF been painful. Good luck for the scan tomorrow and hopefully no "surprises" there.

@sometimesalways how was your scan?

sometimesalways · 20/10/2019 22:36

@Russkispy @LillyLeaf
thank you, scan was good! Ovulated either late Friday or early Saturday so we are all booked for embryo transfer on Thursday afternoon. Just started the progesterone support injections today. Feel in a strangely good mood. Although I am sure the progesterone Induced madness will kick in in a few days haha

@LillyLeaf hang in there! I feel you. I just hated Buserelin. Of course I understand that it may be necessary and worth it but the side effects are aargh
Just hang in there... keeping fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes tomorrow

sometimesalways · 20/10/2019 22:37

Gah why do some of my posts appear in bold? Completely unintentional
