Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

So just had a call from the clinic he one that made it had reached blastocyst but has now collapsed and while this can happen it should then re-expand and carry on but it hasn’t so we are now having to thaw another one! Am feeling really deflated right now and like it’s all against us 😢

sometimesalways · 02/10/2019 11:44

Oh no @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I am so sorry! But there's another there so that's good news. You only need one! Try and stay positive x

DawnK77 · 02/10/2019 12:46

Hi mincedpea! I remember your name from an earlier board too. See a few names I am recognising. I had fresh in June, had mild OHSS, had a frozen in August, failed unfortunately so back on it this month! Was thinking of a long break but the clinic haven't answered our questions about finding if I take a break and have got the drugs being delivered so we thought maybas well crack on! xx

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 02/10/2019 13:23

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Oh no! I'm soo sorry that you've lost another one
Are they thawing the other today for transfer tomorrow or will it still be today?
X

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 02/10/2019 14:26

So I finally have an embie on board! 3rd one survived the thaw and they seemed really pleased that It managed to do what ever it needed to do in an hour! Transfer was a nightmare my bladder was to full so had to jump up and go toilet twice! They were having difficulties getting the catheter to go where it needed so all in all took an hour but now on the way home!

WorriedButterfly · 02/10/2019 14:57

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF well done, none of this is easy, but you're a big step on today!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 02/10/2019 14:58

@WorriedButterfly thankyou it was a lot more stressful then my 1st fet I have to say!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 02/10/2019 15:28

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Thank goodness! 🤞🤞🤞🤞this is the one! X

mincedpea · 02/10/2019 17:31

Well done @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF! Must feel good to have got the transfer done, although now the madness of the TWW can begin...

@sometimesalways Thanks for sharing your treatment plan too. There are so many ways of doing this it seems. Hopefully yours works for you, and the acupuncture helps. I've heard quite a few mentions of acupuncture being good for fertility treatment.

@DawnK77 Sorry to hear about the failed transfers, it's really tough, but I can see why you want to get on with doing the next one. At least you can go straight to transfer and you're on a new cycle now so this time could be the one. My doctor is always telling me to be positive, maybe mindset does make a difference in all of this.

How did you get on today with the bloods and scans @Betsyboo87?

DawnK77 · 02/10/2019 18:01

Well done finallytakingtheplunge! I found the bladder thing a nightmare too, how full is too full !!
Yes mincedpea I'm going to try to copy that, positive thinking! Xxx

Betsyboo87 · 02/10/2019 18:26

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF that’s great news you have one onboard. I’m sure you could have done without the added stress/drama but hopefully you can now relax. When is your OTD? I’m unsure about the full bladder thing too, I’m worried I’m going to drink too much and not be able to hold it!

@mincedpea bloods and scan were all good so we’re definitely going ahead on Monday with the transfer. I’ve started the lovely progesterone pessaries this afternoon too.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 02/10/2019 19:23

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Thank you x

@mincedpea I’m glad we got there in the end! Not sure how I feel about the 2ww yet think after a good nights sleep I’ll get on the crazy 2ww band wagon

@DawnK77 it is my 1st fet I didn’t drink enough and this time I drank a ltr before hand and o think it was too much to quick maybe and I was dying by the time I got on there!

@betsyboob87 definitely could of done with out it but it’s done now test day is the 11th Oct

Broodyaf · 02/10/2019 21:10

Hey all

  • I recognise some of the names on here!
We're starting our 1at cycle of IVF at the end of the month! Aaaaaahhhhh! So excited but nervous too

Any tips or tricks?xx

mincedpea · 03/10/2019 09:11

Hi @Broodyaf, welcome to the board and the mad world of IVF. The two best tips I learnt from these boards are to put an ice cube on the bit of your belly that you're going to inject for a few minutes before you do the jab, and to push the injection slowly rather than too quickly. Oh and have a bit of chocolate or some other treat ready for after! It's not the most fun but probably will be better than you think and it definitely goes faster once you're actually doing the treatments and not waiting for them! Good luck with it all and keep us posted!

Great news @Betsyboo87, hopefully soon you'll be in the TWW too! Oh the pessaries, yikes, haven't had them before. Have you decided back door or front door?

Haha @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF, I hope to hear lots of mad symptom spots on the other thread!

That's the spirit @DawnK77, got to stay positive if you can, it can't hurt!

Betsyboo87 · 03/10/2019 18:03

@mincedpea I was on them last year for LP spotting. I only used one a day but I remember them being annoying then. Now I’m having to do it three times a day. My clinic said front door so that’s what I’m doing. I’m using liners but I’d actually rather inject once a day instead!

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I’ll be about 5 days behind you then. I hope you have something distracting planned for the weekend.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 06/10/2019 13:12

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
When is your OTD? How have you been feeling? Do you think you'll test early? X

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 06/10/2019 13:55

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted OTD is Friday 11th! Feeling quite crampy untill yesterday! Had a bit of spotting Thursday night which has continued so very similar to last time but not as bad l! My boobs feel achy today aswell which didn’t happen last time and am tired! Hoping to hold out to wed when I’ll be 7dp5dt but might cave and do it. How long have you got till you get your results?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 06/10/2019 14:17

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Sounds promising?!
London clinic where they did the biopsy said 3 weeks but the girls on reception reckoned 6-8! I hope it's not 8 - I've been doing ok not thinking about it too much but I'll definitely be twitchy if it goes on too long.
To be honest I'm expecting bad results so exploring finance options in case we do a final cycle in the new year

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 06/10/2019 14:58

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Thanks am trying to remain realistic! Wow I hope it doesn’t take they long!!

sometimesalways · 06/10/2019 15:04

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF good luck! Sounds interesting, there may be something in those signs Wink fingers crossed for you!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 06/10/2019 15:18

@sometimesalways thankyou! I hope so.

Maybe202020 · 06/10/2019 20:37

Going to join this thread if that’s okay?, I should hopefully be starting my only and first nhs funded round of icsi in November. My group session is soon and I’m so eager to get started. X

LillyLeaf · 06/10/2019 20:53

I've just done my first buserelin shot of this cycle, I really does get itchy. I hope I don't feel as bad on the Buserelin as I did last time but at least I know what to expect. I've still got a very long way to go. I have my nurse consultant tomorrow to go through the rest of the meds.

@Maybe202020 that's so exciting that you'll start soon, all the waiting is the worst part.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I've seen a lot of people get results at 7dp5dt. Good luck. I've always done 9dp5dt, hopefully I can do the same this cycle but the temptation is extremely hard. It will probably be mid November by the time I'm getting to test.

sometimesalways · 06/10/2019 22:37

Hope it's not too bad @LillyLeaf
Buserelin makes me pretty anxious so this is why I decided to go natural this time... did you have any side effects last time?

I am still waiting for af... if we were to count from ovulation, then it should arrive around Wednesday-Thursday this week. Let's see..

Does anybody know, is Af always due 14 days post ovulation? Is the
Luteal phase always fixed, or could it be delayed/prolonged? I never know if, when periods are delayed, it is because ovulation was delayed or the period after..

Marmite83 · 06/10/2019 23:30

I'm not much help I'm afraid @sometimesalways, I always expect af 14 days post ovulation.

Hope the Buserelin is kind to you @LillyLeaf

I've got everything crossed for you @FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF

Welcome @Maybe202020, hopefully one cycle is all you'll need

I'm still in limbo here. Hpt is negative (finally), opk isn't even close to positive. 3 weeks since erpc tomorrow, just want ovulation to hurry up so I have some idea when to expect af and then we can start our FET cycle
