Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@sometimesalways
It depends really....I've had miscarriages where I've bled and passed the uterine lining and still had hcg over 300 and then I've had others where I've not bled until hcg was 0 x

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 15/11/2019 15:52

@fllinn
My AMH is only 12.9 and I was on 225 of bemfola (bmi in the normal range - not sure what that is though) therefore it's likely to be your BMI which is driving it as it affects how the body absorbs and processes the medication x

Russkispy · 15/11/2019 16:45

@Ballermoriee1 congratulations! Fingers crossed for 7 week scan.

@sometimesalways hope you received that phone call?! And HCG is still dropping?!

sometimesalways · 15/11/2019 17:04

Ladies, the saga continues! I got the call an hour ago and apparently hCG only dropped from 71 to 68 since I stopped the meds so they want to test me again on Tuesday to ensure there's a good drop by then. So I guess slightly heading to the right direction but effectively inconclusive. They seemed to think the bleeding was a good sign. Argh I am beyond frustrated

@sometimesalways sorry to hear it! It's never bloody straight forward! It's so bloody frustrating when you just want it to be over. I know how you feel. Been there too many times Sad

Marmite83 · 15/11/2019 17:26

Oh @sometimesalways, I wish I could wave a magic wand and give you an answer. In fact I wish I could wave a magic wand and give us all our much wanted babies! I'm so sorry you're still going through this, hopefully Tuesday will finally give you your answer so you can start to move forward. In the meantime, be gentle with yourself. Sending hugs

Brilliant news @Ballermoriee1, another win for the board! I love your 3am testing, that's real commitment to the cause. Definitely a good idea to be positive and enjoy it!

Glad to hear everyone's updates, sorry about the sore bum @orangefolly but sounds like some good symptoms there! I hope it turns out well for you.

@Roobles79 Sounds like you're making good progress! I was also a bit worried about EC but it was actually fine, the worst thing was the IV needle to put in the drugs (and that's only cos I'm scared of needles). I know it's still a nervy thing, but you'll be fine and it'll be over before you know it. Plus the sedation is a really lovely little rest. Personally, I found the 5/6 days after EC was a bit anxious-making, waiting to hear from the embryologists etc. but we are all here with you for that and have been through the highs and lows so will understand.

Happy weekend everyone, I hope you all have a good one! xx

Roobles79 · 15/11/2019 18:06

@mincedpea and @marmite83 thank you, getting quite excited/nervous now. @ballermoreei I missed your news, congratulations! @sometimesalways so sorry, u must be a mixed bag of emotions right now. Hang on in there. Sending hugs xx

mincedpea · 15/11/2019 18:14

I'm so sorry @sometimesalways, I missed your posts, I'm not sure how. What an awful limbo you must be in, I really hope you get an answer one way or the other soon, no doubt you feel frustrated. Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to move on soon, in the mean time take care of yourself, and stay strong.

LillyLeaf · 16/11/2019 04:28

4am is a perfect time to take a test.... BFP, a lovely dark line on a FRER. Obviously we're nervous and cautious but hopefully this one will be different. Not sure I'll get back to sleep.

sometimesalways · 16/11/2019 07:41

Oh wow congratulations @LillyLeaf that's wonderful news.

justtheonethen · 16/11/2019 07:43

Congratulations @LillyLeaf Star

ginandtonicformeplease · 16/11/2019 07:46

Congratulations @LillyLeaf that's fantastic news!

I'm keeping myself as busy as possible - I just don't want to think about it! By nature I'm a bit of a pessimist. Last night (DH was away) I found myself thinking about if it's a BFP and then told myself off! Off to acupuncture first thing this morning so hopefully that'll be nice and relaxing.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 16/11/2019 09:01

@LillyLeaf
Brilliant news!

LillyLeaf · 16/11/2019 09:38

Thanks. I was awake until 6.30 so feel a bit knackered now. Hopefully I'll get a good blood result on Monday.

I think a few of you were looking into trying to find cheaper drugs? Do you find anywhere cheap? Do you try Asda?

justtheonethen · 16/11/2019 09:42

@LillyLeaf I did go to Asda. Was a fair bit cheaper as they do cost price ivf drugs. My clinic doesn't charge for a private prescription either (some do).

justtheonethen · 16/11/2019 09:43

@LillyLeaf just in case you do go to Asda they need an original prescription so not a photocopy or fax etc.

justtheonethen · 16/11/2019 09:44

And I think it has to be a UK one as he asked me if it was when I originally called to ask about price.

Russkispy · 16/11/2019 09:46

@LillyLeaf congratulations!! Thanks

Roobles79 · 16/11/2019 13:33

@lillyleaf congratulations! Yay!! You must be so happy. XX what a lovely start to the weekend. Which number go is this for you, is it a fresh or a FET? X

mincedpea · 16/11/2019 13:36

@LillyLeaf Congratulations, wonderful news! I'm sure you're relieved, even if still a bit cautious.

Alas, I also tested and it was BFN. I had expected that but it was still a bit sad. Sorry to have brought down our board's stats, but fingers crossed for many more BFPs on here. I guess we will try again next month, not sure how long you have to wait between FET attempts. Some plus sides are no more pessaries, alcohol, and running/swimming again, so it's not all bad. I will probably lurk on here a bit longer as it's nice to hear the good news. Take care all. xx

LillyLeaf · 16/11/2019 14:28

@Roobles79 thanks. It's my 2nd FET, first was a fresh, both MCs so that's why I'm nervous but just trying to think of it as one step forward and a few weeks wait for the first scan.

@mincedpea I'm so sorry I was really rooting for you. It's so hard. Hopefully you can start the next cycle quickly. Be kind to yourself.

sometimesalways · 16/11/2019 15:09

@mincedpea oh I am so sorry! It's so crap getting a bfn. This was me in my last cycle, and I honestly don't know what's more frustrating, now that I have had both, getting a bfn or a bfp and the mc... try not to get too down, and take it easy.

As for me, I ended up in a&e this morning cause I was feeling faint again and didn't want to chance it. Got examined and it seems all points to mc thankfully. I had a urine test that doesn't show pregnancy any more and even though bloods are obviously more accurate (they didn't see the need to run bloods), nhs dr seemed satisfied that my numbers are now dropping so we are on track for mc and not ectopic which is a huge relief. I still need to do my bloods at the clinic on Tuesday but I imagine it's now all settled.

I am actually quite relieved and feeling more optimistic again. Now just need to relax, regroup and roll on next cycle! Right? Smile

justtheonethen · 16/11/2019 17:13

@mincedpea I'm so sorry Thanks

@sometimesalways thinking of you Thanks

Russkispy · 16/11/2019 23:43

@mincedpea sorry about BFN

@sometimesalways sorry you ended up in A&E but glad it's not ectopic! When are you thinking of next FET? Maybe we can be cycle buddies again.

Sending virtual hugs to both of you Thanks
