Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@mincedpea I'm 6dp5dt today and feeling a bit rough, not enough sleep and feeling anxious. What day are you now? I think you could test at 10dp5dt and it be reliable.

@Ballermoriee1 I've never done a blue dye, always a Frer, can you get one for tomorrow? It's never easy is it!

Ballermoriee1 · 14/11/2019 13:01

@LillyLeaf I've totally lost it now, just done another test on some cheap pink dye ones I had, the strips that you dip in to pee. Also a VVVV faint line. I'm 7dp today.

It's still not going to feel real until OTD comes and the Digital spells it out for me.

I want to believe that I'm pregnant

LillyLeaf · 14/11/2019 13:05

@Ballermoriee1 ha ha, stop testing with crappy tests. Get a frer. Everything crossed for you.

ginandtonicformeplease · 14/11/2019 15:30

I'm 3dp5dt, but slightly puzzled by lack of symptoms compared to the last three transfers. All other times I've got really sore, growing boobs right from starting the progynova but increasing with the progesterone, and last time the steroids made me eat for Britain. I seem to remember also being rather moody too. This time I've had none of those symptoms - if anything, I'm not as hungry as usual and am actually having to make myself eat. What is going on?!

mincedpea · 14/11/2019 17:28

@Ballermoriee1 Wow, that's exciting, and confusing too! Get a FRER and do it with FMU tomorrow, then you know the result is reliable. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

@LillyLeaf I also slept awfully last night and have felt it today. Sorry you're feeling anxious, it's a nervy time. You're nearly at test day though, so soon you'll be out of limbo. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you too. Thank you for the advice on testing at 10 days post transfer, I may do that if only to avoid the extra pessaries. I fear a negative test will really ruin the weekend though, so I might still hold out until Monday. The total lack of symptoms makes me not very hopeful but I didn't think it'd happen first time round so I'm sort of prepared.

BettySwoll0cks · 14/11/2019 19:06

@mincedpea @LillyLeaf I slept really badly last night too ... it was super windy here and a door slammed somewhere which woke me up, then I was awake for hours. Going to take a tart cherry supplement before bed tonight. Just a little bit of melatonin in there - I really think it helps

LillyLeaf · 14/11/2019 20:12

@ginandtonicformeplease it's so hard not to compare cycles. I do think we can have different side effects to the drugs at different times. Everything crossed for you.

@mincedpea @BettySwoll0cks hopefully we can sleep better tonight, although I fell asleep on sofa when I came home so that probably hasn't helped. Roll on Saturday.

mincedpea · 15/11/2019 08:26

@LillyLeaf LOL, falling asleep on the sofa, could that be a symptom?? I was in my PJs with teeth brushed and ready for bed at 8.30pm! I had quite a heavy feeling down below last night but it's gone today so maybe AF is staying away for a bit longer.

@BettySwoll0cks Thanks for the tip, where do you buy that supplement? I often drink Pukka Tea's bedtime brew, which is lovely but then means I am up in the night needing the loo!

@ginandtonicformeplease That is indeed confusing, has anything changed for you meds-wise? I think every cycle has little variations here and there, so try not to worry, that little embryo is still on board and hopefully will be bedding down as we speak!

I am very happy it's Friday, 9dp5dt, nearly at OTD 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

LillyLeaf · 15/11/2019 09:12

@mincedpea no idea if it's a symptom, I am blaming everything on progesterone and steroids. I know what you mean about 'heavy' down there, I'm feeling very aware of my uterus. I've had a dodgy stomach the past few days, I'm thinking it's my body's reaction to dealing with the constipation (tmi) and not af coming, hopefully. I was so tempted to test this morning when I woke up at 5am! But didn't. I don't know how you will hold out to Monday, got everything crossed for you.

@Ballermoriee1 did you test again?

mincedpea · 15/11/2019 09:33

@LillyLeaf You're right, it's more likely to be the meds causing a bit of discomfort down there rather than anything more exciting. I don't get how progesterone can both stave off AF but also cause AF-like symptoms, so confusing! Well done on not testing at 5am! I know I am safe from testing so long as I can get that FMU done before I wake up enough to think about testing.

Oooh I forgot you might test again today @Ballermoriee1, hope you got hold of a FRER, wishing you luck!

Ballermoriee1 · 15/11/2019 09:46

@LillyLeaf @mincedpea

I did test again with an FRER - I'm pregnant!

I'm going to test again tomorrow, OTD with the clear blue digital. I need it to spell it out for me.

Good luck ladies - please let me know when you test, all the luck in the world ❤️

LillyLeaf · 15/11/2019 09:50

@Ballermoriee1 that's fantastic, congratulations.

Marmite83 · 15/11/2019 10:43

Fantastic news @Ballermoriee1! What a lovely way to start a Friday Smile. Have you told your OH?

@ginandtonicformeplease, I am on less progesterone this cycle and yet my boobs are more sore. I got a bfp both times so try not to worry too much about different symptoms from the meds, I know it's hard. I'm starting to will symptoms to appear myself to give me a little peace of mind. I felt pretty horrendous from week 6 of my only successful pregnancy so although I know symptoms are no guarantee of a good outcome they would at least make me feel a little more hopeful. Still early though.

@mincedpea 9dp5dt is OTD at my clinic, well done for hanging in there! And you too @LillyLeaf! I've got everything crossed that you both get your bfps.

I have my flu jab booked for tomorrow, not looking forward to the sore arm I had last time but it will be good to get it done. I know it's ridiculous but it feels like a tick on the list of things to do once you're pregnant so it makes me feel like I'm doing something positive towards staying pregnant.

@fllinn, how did your first injection go?

OP posts:
Ballermoriee1 · 15/11/2019 11:20

@Marmite86 - Yes, I needed a pee at 3am this morning and didn't want to miss a good wee. I went back in and woke him up.

It still doesn't feel real...

Marmite83 · 15/11/2019 11:44

That made me laugh @Ballermoriee1. I bet he was both annoyed at being woken up and excited about the bfp. Not sure I would manage to get back to sleep after that. I'm 4+4 today and still haven't really accepted I'm pregnant.

Ballermoriee1 · 15/11/2019 12:22

@Marmite83 - I didn't, my mind went crazy, to the point I was thinking about wallpaper for the nursery! Talk about jumping the gun, my OTD isn't until tomorrow.

Do you have any symptoms yet? I feel pretty normal to be honest, other than sore breasts and the occasional lower back pain.

I have a 7 week scan to wait for now. Do you? Where do you live? xxx

Marmite83 · 15/11/2019 12:40

@Ballermoriee1 nothing wrong with a little daydream, I was daydreaming yesterday about my dh bringing our dd into hospital to meet her little brother or sister. Then I got annoyed with myself for thinking about it, then I decided that I should be being positive. I'm such a nightmare sometimes! Symptoms wise I'm the same as you, hoping it will ramp up a bit soon. I have a scan booked for two weeks today. I'm just north of London. You?

fllinn · 15/11/2019 13:47

Wow so many people with BFPs, congratulations!!!

@Marmite83 my first one is tonight and I'm terrified lol. My husband is in charge of them and he's not a very empathic man so he won't be fussed haha.

My clinic just called and said my AMH blood test result is back and is 30 which they said is normal. But then they said they were increasing my bemfola dose. I think I'm already on a high dose because my BMI is 30 so I was meant to take 200, but now they say to do 225. Is that related to the AMH or have they just decided I'm even fatter than they thought?!

Ballermoriee1 · 15/11/2019 13:55

@Marmite83 I agree, we should be positive. It's hard after such a long journey.

It's still very early, I think symptoms kick in around 5/6 weeks. Let's hope we don't regret wanting them. Ginger biscuits at the ready!

Did you have your DD through IVF?

I am in Horsham, 20 minutes from Gatwick.

sometimesalways · 15/11/2019 13:57

Congratulations @Ballermoriee1 that's wonderful news!

I hope everybody is doing ok! I have been following but quietly waiting for my own issues to resolve before jumping back in.

I had my blood test this morning to rule out ectopic and the wait for results is Sad. I thought they'd have called by now and I am heading to a work meeting - id really had rather got the news when alone.

I also started bleeding this morning. I was feeling really crap yesterday and almost fainted once, had tummy pain and cramps, but by now everything has quieted down and blood looks and feels like my period. I am hoping this means mc.

Does anyone know if hCG levels need to drop by a lot for a period after mc?

Roobles79 · 15/11/2019 14:13

PUPO is the name of the game here ladies (positive until proven otherwise)! I'm trying to channel this although appreciate it is also bloody tough. And it is Friday so happy weekend everyone.

I've had my second scan of the week, follicles are OK, up to 14mm the biggest ones, and a lovely endometrium the scanner said so I have another scan Monday AM and egg retrieval hopefully Wednesday. Not going to lie I am scared about that but hopefully will have all the drugs and they keep it well topped up! XXX

justtheonethen · 15/11/2019 14:28

@Ballermoriee1 congratulations that's lovely news Star

orangefolly · 15/11/2019 14:31

Congratulations @Ballermoriee1 that's great news!

I had my follow up progesterone blood test today and the levels have shot up massively, so the bum injections are obviously working, even if they aren't the most pleasant!

Has anyone else been having hot flushes?? I haven't had this with previous cycles so much. Trying not to get too hopeful about symptoms yet since I am only 3dp5dt. Also a lot of cramping but that might be digestive from the progesterone?

Marmite83 · 15/11/2019 15:34

@fllinn I doubt it will be anything to do with your AMH but I'm not an expert. 30 is a very good number Smile

My dd was conceived naturally after 18 months of trying and a mmc @Ballermoriee1. I'm not freaking out yet about the lack of symptoms, probably will in a week's time though if they still haven't appeared, it's pretty crazy wishing to feel nauseous really!

Hopefully bleeding is a good sign that it's not ectopic @sometimesalways and that your body is dealing with everything naturally. I don't know about the hcg I'm afraid although I don't think the bleed you're having now would be classed as a period. I hope you get your phonecall soon but at a time when you can be alone.

All sounds positive @Roobles79. I was pretty nervous about EC too but they totally knocked me out and I woke up being wheeled back in to my DH again. I was a little crampy afterwards for a couple of days but pretty mild.

Glad the progesterone has gone up @orangefolly, no hot flushes here I'm afraid.
