Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

To the ladies in the midst of treatment - I feel you re: jabs! My belly was all black and blue last time I did a medicated cycle. I was running out of space to inject towards the end!

Have you tested yet @LillyLeaf ? Wink
Are you tempted?

I gave some blood earlier for my repeat hCG test and waiting at the edge of my seat eeeek
They said they will hopefully call me by tonight with the results.

LillyLeaf · 12/11/2019 14:51

@sometimesalways I'm not tempted yet as I'm only 4dp5dt so still very early, but I think I will test on Saturday at 8dp5dt. Good luck for your bloods today.

BettySwoll0cks · 12/11/2019 15:03

My clinic called today, one of my day 6 embryos made the quality threshold for freezing so now we have 4 to take forward for FET in the New Year.

Good news, except I'm in the 'unexplained' recurrent mc camp, so there's a chance that the problem might actually be further down the line and ivf won't make any difference ... but in the spirit of positivity, has anyone done anything particular to prepare their bodies for FET to maximise chances? Supplementation, acupuncture etc? I should say that none of my tests have shown anything requiring treatment (clotting etc all fine).

Tia Thanks

Thank you everyone, still feels quite surreal. Took a Clearblue digi this morning just so I could see the result for myself. 2-3 weeks so all looking ok so far. Haven't booked the scan yet but aiming for Fri 29th.

I've got everything crossed for you @sometimesalways, I hope they don't keep you waiting too long.

That's great news @BettySwoll0cks. I took Omega 3, Pregnacare, Inofolic (for PCOS) and pro-biotics in the run up to transfer. Then for 5 days after transfer, I took Proxeed instead of the Pregnacare as it's supposed to support implantation. I would've taken more but I ran out and didn't want to spend £40 on another box just to use a couple if sachets.

Congratulations everyone with their BFP! Exciting couple of weeks! just wondered if the ones with a BFP could share what cycle number they were on and grade of embryo transferred? X

Ballermoriee1 · 12/11/2019 16:54

Hi,

Sorry to just jump on to this thread, i'm losing my mind during the TWW. I am currently 5dp5dt on an FET cycle. This will be my second cycle, the first was fresh and unfortunately failed.
I am over-analyzing ever twinge and I am trying to stay positive but I am getting waves of cramps which are worrying me.
How are you all getting on?

xx

Roobles79 · 12/11/2019 17:51

@lucyinthe great idea re. Drinks! It's hard to hide not drinking isn't it. Espesh with all the Xmas parties coming up. People in my office are very nosy and ask why I'm not having much coffee anymore haha. Yay so you must be about a week behind me. I haven't had too bad symptoms from the meriofert or buserelin yet, just feel very tired all the time and huge craving to eat lots of chocolate! Not sure if I am supposed to have more symptoms at this stage? My follow up scan tomorrow 1 week after starting the meriofert then another on Friday. I will hopefully know more about egg collection then. Good luck to everyone. Brilliant news @marmite83! Big congrats. Thanks for the tips about the supplements. What brand of probiotics and omega 3 do you take? There's a lot of info out there about which is best xx

Marmite83 · 12/11/2019 18:18

Thanks @Roobles79, I just take Tesco Omega 3 capsules, as long as they don't have any form of fish liver oil in them they should be fine. I take Probio 7 capsules, not sure if they're the best but they had a good write up when I was researching.

@BettySwoll0cks that's great about your frozen embies. Have you looked on pgs testing? After 2 MCs I tested my remaining 3, all were abnormal, then tested 6 with the next cycle, only 1 was normal so I didn discover why I was miscarrying. I didn't do anything different for my FETs and continued with acupuncture.

@Ballermoriee1 you are 1 day ahead of me. I'm not coping at all. I'm googling like crazy. You can experience cramps for both AF and pregnancy so they are not something to pay attention to. It's so hard. When will you test?

I had another progesterone blood test today, it was 'slightly low' so I'm upping the Lubion. I'm a bit worried this is going to have a negative effect and implantation will fail because of low progesterone.

sometimesalways · 12/11/2019 18:39

Argh sorry I feel I am bringing bad news to a very positive thread, I hope I don't bring you down.. but sadly my blood test results are back and hCG has only risen to 71 or something so it's def a non viable pregnancy. Now they want me to stop all meds and do another test on Friday to make sure numbers are dropping to rule out ectopic so the saga continues. Not only do I have to process the loss, I might even have an ectopic to deal with! Has anybody had any experience with that, or an ectopic scare? I am slightly terrified

LillyLeaf · 12/11/2019 18:41

@sometimesalways I'm so sorry, it's so hard. I don't have any experience with ectopic pregnancies but hopefully that won't happen to you.

sometimesalways · 12/11/2019 18:56

Thank you @LillyLeaf
I am in the weird position where I am seriously hoping for a miscarriage. Who would have thought.

mincedpea · 12/11/2019 18:58

@sometimesalways So sorry to hear that, it's really sad and so hard. I don't know much about ectopics but I really hope you don't have one of those. Take care of yourself.

@LillyLeaf Thankfully I've been busy travelling with work today so not had time to do mad symptom spotting. I'm 6dp5dt now and don't think anything has happened as I have no symptoms at all. Another 6 days to go before OTD and I don't want to ruin the weekend with a negative test so I might just wait until OTD. I don't think this one's the one so I am preparing myself. Hope your progesterone gets sorted out - it's good that they are checking. When will you test?

@BettySwoll0cks Good news on the embryos, glad you have a good number for the freezer!

@Ballermoriee1 I am 1 day ahead of you and was also going a bit mad yesterday! I think cramps are a good thing, at least, I'd interpret them that way!

justtheonethen · 12/11/2019 18:58

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted this was our first frozen cycle (with embryo from our only fresh cycle that gave us our DD). First time both times so I feel very lucky.
My daughter was a 4AA and this one was a 4AB

justtheonethen · 12/11/2019 18:59

@sometimesalways I'm so sorry Sad

Roobles79 · 12/11/2019 19:26

@sometimesalways so very sorry to hear. Sending big hugs. Look after yourself XX

Russkispy · 12/11/2019 19:28

@sometimesalways I'm sorry to hear it, my cycle buddy 😢 as you know I've recently suffered a chemical pregnancy at 4-5 weeks. When bleeding/my period started just 4 days after such strong lines I saw on HPT. When went for a scan, I had a PUL, a pregnancy of unknown location. And it was either early miscarriage or ectopic which they had to rule out by testing HCG and repeat it 48 hours later. And thankfully, sadly of course, my HCG was dropping significantly and there wasn't ectopic in the end. Big relief. My bleeding stopped for the past 2 days now.

I hope your HCG will decrease again and there's no sign of ectopic. Crossing everything for that. And I'm really sorry about the whole situation. Very hard 😢😢 sending you big hugs

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/11/2019 19:32

@sometimesalways
I'm sorry. I've had 2 ectopics both rupturing leading to loss of both tubes. The first was from a natural conception and the second was from an IVF transfer x

Marmite83 · 12/11/2019 19:38

@sometimesalways I'm so sorry, I don't have any experience with ectopic, both my losses have been mmc. I hope a miscarriage happens quickly for you so you can start to move forward. Sending you so many hugs!

@LillyLeaf - it’s so hard. I tested last time on day 5pt and it was negative and it really annoyed me, I’d have liked to have had the hope of ‘maybe’ for a few more days. I’m trying to hold out this time but it’s just so hard. I go through waves of feeling confident that it’s work and then panic when the cramps come..

I just don’t know if the cramps would feel just like a period or there are differences?

@mincedpea - thank you! Have you had any symptoms? I had a spotting 3dp5dt and I just felt convinced it was implantation bleeding. I suppose it could have been anything. How are you feeling, when will you test? Xx

sometimesalways · 12/11/2019 20:21

@mincedpea @Marmite83 @Roobles79 @justtheonethen
Thank you so much, your support means a lot

@Russkispy my cycle buddy! I remember your journey well, we have both been unlucky this time round, but we might coordinate again in the new year and 2020 might just be the lucky one for us.

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I am so sorry to hear you went through that, sounds awful. I hope you get your baby with this cycle! If you don't mind me asking, which week / when post transfer did your ruptures took place?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 12/11/2019 20:33

@sometimesalways
Thankyou. I transfer in a couple of weeks. 🤞🤞

My first ectopic had low rising hcg but still in the thousands - I knew something wasn't right around 5 weeks and it was identified as ectopic around 5+4 - they tried to treat with a drug called methotrexate but it didn't work and I ruptured at 6+1 wks with hcg around 5000

The second absolutely no warning signs of ectopic as hcg was rising fast and high - I felt some pain at 5+6 which would have been 21 days post transfer and when the hospital refused to take it seriously my IVF clinic scanned me instead and found a heartbeat and called an ambulance and I ruptured a couple of hours later with hcg around 17000

Russkispy · 12/11/2019 20:35

@sometimesalways I'll need to get some tests before I go for next transfer. I believe they will be done after my next AF. Right now it's plenty of rest, taking different vitamins and recover from this loss.

sometimesalways · 12/11/2019 20:51

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted thank you for explaining, it helps me understand the potential situation until I get some clarity. I guess since my hCG is slower to rise it might give me more time to deal with whatever this is (I am going to be 5w+1 on Friday when we do the test). Or perhaps it just means it is more likely it's a chemical.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
🤞🤞

@Russkispy you should absolutely take your time, these things can't be rushed. What sort of tests were you thinking? (In case it inspires me to try something new!) Have you tested for antibodies/autoimmune stuff?

LillyLeaf · 12/11/2019 22:31

@mincedpea I've had the odd mild cramp, mostly at 2dp5dt but no other symptoms. But my last FET I felt nothing and got a bfp so I don't think it means anything. I think I'll test Sunday, I sort of do and don't want to test at the same time.

@Ballermoriee1 it's so hard isn't it. With both my transfers I got bfp (later MC) so i keep thinking surely I won't have a 3rd positive, that's not possible. I was very crampy in my first cycle (fresh) and it felt like AF was start soon but it never got as painful as AF can get, if that makes sense.
