Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

Thanks @Dlpdep, pretty sore today so having a duvet day with the pooch, not sure I have any tears left. Now just got to hope AF doesn't take too long to show up so we can start the process for an FET, not that I know what that process is! Hope you're doing ok

facevalue · 17/09/2019 10:34

@Marmite83 oh babe😢 it was never going to be easy x rest and definitely don't rush back to work. i took only a week off last time and i did regret not being off longer x

confused107 · 17/09/2019 16:33

@Marmite83 I hope you have had a relaxing day and are feeling a little better. So sorry you are going through this

hgdg2018 · 20/09/2019 14:51

@confused107 we are also with Nurture Burton/Nottingham! I've found that they were really nice and i felt comfortable enough. when we start again in the new year i don't know if i'd feel ok using another clinic now...

confused107 · 20/09/2019 15:00

@hgdg2018 think we will be starting again with nurture burton/ Nottingham in January too. We have an appointment at create to look at natural ivf, but I think we will end up going back there. This will be our last go. Can barely afford this one.

I'm trying to get back into the healthy eating after a good month of 'f**ck it I deserve all the sugar and gin after all I've been through' and back with the personal trainer and the endless supplements. Also my husband has booked us a last minute getaway to Lanzarote to relax first week in November. Shame it's with Thomas Cook!

Are you doing anything different this time?

hgdg2018 · 20/09/2019 15:10

We're going to be using the Access Fertility programme to do 3 rounds with 100% refund. That's why we're starting in January as we need to save.

At our follow up they said they'd change my stim meds and move the EC to a few hours later (!) but that was it. Everything else was fine so god knows why they didn't make it to day 5! There was no reason for it.

So they said they wouldn't change too much, long protocol again!

confused107 · 20/09/2019 15:16

@hgdg2018 that's exactly the same as they offered me, with the addition of steroids! Because of my age they can only offer a 50% refund, and to be honest I don't think I could face doing it another 3 times. Best of luck with it all. Sure I will see you on another board

confused107 · 20/09/2019 15:20

@hgdg2018 just scrolled back and looks like we were booked in at Nottingham for our procedure on the same day. Pretty spooky!

hgdg2018 · 20/09/2019 15:23

I thought you were the same person as me having the same things done at the same time! How strange!! We may have seen each other without realising....!!

Peanut1980 · 28/09/2019 22:23

Hi all. Sorry for the radio silence this End. I just really needed a break from everything Ivf related. I had my counselling. Wow, it was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend everyone doing this if it’s available to you through your clinic.

So I’m not entirely sure where we’re at. I wanted a cooling off period and there have been days when I’ve forgotten about baby making and IVF I really need this at the moment. Last time hubby and I spoke about it we agree we’d give it one final go. That was weeks ago and haven’t spoken about it since. I want another couple of months off first before making that decision. In the meantime I’ve doubled my ubiquinol and have started taking some high dose omega 3 oils. Plus I’m taking protein shakes in hope that helps. In our consultant review he didn’t right off us ever falling pregnant naturally... IF... my body can produce one good egg and we do the deed at the right time. So I haven’t lost all hope even if the chances are very slim. I’m just wondering whether we have as much chance doing it naturally vs putting my body through the tough ivf cycle. Anyway, who knows.

@Marmite83 I’m so sorry to hear of your news. Please allow yourself time to grieve. I was told to do something symbolic like plant something or throw a flower in a river. In a kind of ceremony with your other half and talk about it. Talk about how you both feel. How are you doing now? Big hugs to you.

Got everyone else continuing their journey I wish you the best of luck and happiness in your journeys whatever the outcome.

Xxxxxxx

Marmite83 · 28/09/2019 22:43

Thanks @Peanut1980, I'm actually doing better than I thought I would be. I'm feeling fairly pragmatic about it all. I've pretty much stopped bleeding and the hpt is almost negative so at least I'm coming to the end of the limbo stage. We're planning an FET natural cycle as soon as af appears so hoping that won't take too long. Trying naturally in the meantime but under no illusion it'll happen. So glad to hear the counselling helped, it sounds like you're thinking clearly which can only be a good thing.

Passionfruit20 · 08/10/2019 07:39

How is everyone doing? Thinking of you all. I have my 12 week scan on Monday, so absolutely everything is crossed. I know @Whatelsecouldibecalled just had hers and she’s on track - so there is hope!
Praying you all get this result on your next cycle - if that’s what you decide to do. Big hugs.
(Oh and I have decided morning sickness is worse than daily IVF needles - who knew?!?!)

Marmite83 · 08/10/2019 08:58

Hi @Passionfruit20, I've got everything crossed for your scan. Morning sickness sucks but is a good sign.

My 12 week scan should have been today (of course the NHS didn't think to stop the letter being sent more than a week after my mmc!). Still no positive opk, if fact the line today was barely even visible. Feeling pretty fed up. Treatment consultation is tomorrow so at least we'll be ready to go if af ever actually shows up.

Passionfruit20 · 08/10/2019 09:34

Oh that’s awful @marmite83 - the nhs is absolutely useless at stuff like that :( I’m so sorry.
And so frustrating that you’re stuck when you want to get going again.
Crossed fingers and hope AF appears soon. Have you tried acupuncture or anything to stimulate it?

Marmite83 · 08/10/2019 10:54

I've been looking into acupuncture but I just don't know if we can afford it on top of the FET meds. It's about £60 a session where i live and I'd need 5-6 sessions to get me through the next cycle. I may give it a try if af isn't here in a couple of weeks.

TinyPaws · 09/10/2019 20:24

@Passionfruit20 Good luck for most!

@Marmite83 Ugh, that sucks. I did acupuncture and found it helpful but it's a little cheaper where I am. I went every 2 weeks with an extra session the day before embryo transfer them stopped as my TCM specialist doesn't do acupuncture in pregnancy. I'm keeping everything crossed for your next cycle and am lurking in the Oct/Nov thread to see how you all get on.

My 12 week scan is tomorrow and I'm quite anxious about it. One way and another this has been a tough pregnancy so far but I'm ever so grateful for it. Just hoping and praying for a healthy baby at the end of it.

Good luck for Monday, that should say.

Marmite83 · 09/10/2019 20:38

Good luck for tomorrow @Tinypaws, let us know how you get on!

Passionfruit20 · 14/10/2019 18:23

So it turns out they missed something on our 8 week scan... Eg. A baby. We are having identical twins!!!! A little overwhelmed! But both looked healthy and now we get loads of extra monitoring. Definitely only going to read positive stories and not freak myself out!
@TinyPaws how did you do?

sometimesalways · 14/10/2019 19:58

Oh @Passionfruit20 congratulations!! Twice Wink I haven't been on this thread for a while but I had to respond to this! That's wonderful news. I am sure they will keep a close eye on you and you will be absolutely fine yay

Passionfruit20 · 14/10/2019 20:16

Thank you so much @sometimesalways ! We weren’t after two in one, but can only see it as a huge gift :D

Marmite83 · 14/10/2019 21:21

Oh my goodness @Passionfruit20, congratulations!! Such wonderful news!

hgdg2018 · 14/10/2019 22:10

Congratulations!!! @Passionfruit20 x

TinyPaws · 15/10/2019 09:35

Oh wow @Passionfruit20! How did they miss that?! Congrats.

Scan went well, baby measuring 1 day ahead now (was 1 day behind on early scans). Just waiting for the trisomy screening results now.

OP posts:
Passionfruit20 · 15/10/2019 15:26

@TinyPaws - amazing! Everything crossed for your results now.

As to how they missed it, our Sonographer literally checked the name of the person who did the 8 week scan as I think she was like, how did they miss it?! She said both babies were visible from her 8 week scan photos. Lol. Not that we noticed!!! I think it’s going to take a while for DH and I to get over the shock now, as it just didn’t occur to us this was an option!
