Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

@TinyPaws ah that must feel good to make some progress and finally be able to agree a date for your embryo to be moved to the new clinic! and to be able to book a date for your baseline.

@FingersXssd83 good luck with your scan today, I hope the lining looks good and welcoming all ready.
@orangefolly yes the waiting parts of ivf are so hard!! The long protocol is looooong.
I’ve been so weepy this week just waiting for AF to turn up so we can finally crack on and of course it taunted me by being late.

I get to call up the clinic today though and confirm that I can start the drugs this month (just another 3 weeks to wait to actually start injecting!) and book in the first scan.
I find it incredibly ironic that as a very impatient person, I’ve ended up doing something that requires a huge amount of patience!

@Anaesthetist83 we may be doing the cycle at a very similar time by the sounds of it!

confused107 · 05/07/2019 09:30

Morning all and welcome everyone. It's great to hear everyone's updates and I have my fingers crossed that this is a very lucky thread

I am on day 12 of the burselin and so far no side effects at all, apart from this morning I couldn't get my rings on. Maybe it's water retention or it could be the pain au chocolat! But i feel very lucky to not be suffering and able to get on with things as normal. Had my PT session and my baseline scan is boooked for the 9th

How's everyone doing?

Anaesthetist83 · 05/07/2019 09:55

Hi Brambles7.... I’m starting downregulation on the 23rd - still feels like ages away!

Brambles7 · 05/07/2019 10:54

Good luck @Bruce2, everything crossed that this is a successful cycle for you!

@anaesthetist83 I think mine will be 24th or 25th starting downregulation. It feels like an age away, but hopefully quicker than this last month has been just waiting.

@confused107 glad you’re feeling fine on the drugs!

orangefolly · 05/07/2019 16:39

@confused107 I have my first scan on Tuesday 9th too. If all goes well I think they should put me on nafarelin then. What protocol are you on?

Hope everyone is feeling okay in the heat and not too many symptoms! I am only on the pill atm so not much to report.

confused107 · 05/07/2019 16:46

@orangefolly I'm on long protocol. Currently on day 12 of the down regulation. The scan on the 9th is to see if the down regulation has worked then I think they will start stimulating

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm kind of desperate for it all to be over, but then don't want it to be over in case we are not successful...it's a rollercoaster that's for sure

confused107 · 05/07/2019 20:23

Can I ask a question? What is the deal with drinking? I've stopped but it's my birthday next week and we are going to a concert and I'm tempted. I've tried googling but can't find any decent advise

jemimafuddleduck · 05/07/2019 20:48

@confused107 what stage are you at? Sorry I haven't RTFT

confused107 · 05/07/2019 21:34

I'm on day 12 of the burserelin. If all goes well at my scan on Tuesday I may have started stimulating by next weekend. I haven't told any friends that we are doing this, and I'm wondering how I can get away with not drinking on my birthday night out

jemimafuddleduck · 05/07/2019 22:10

Before my first transfer I didn't drink at all for around 6 weeks (over Christmas which was tough with Christmas nights out etc).

My second transfer I didn't drink for almost 3 months. Both BFNs.

This transfer was about 3 weeks of no drinking. I'm in my 2ww at the moment.

Ultimately, if it doesn't work, are you likely to blame yourself for having a drink? I knew I would, so I didn't want to risk it.

confused107 · 05/07/2019 22:54

Thanks @jemimafuddleduck, I kind of know the answer!

TinyPaws · 05/07/2019 23:45

Will reply to everyone later - it's late and I'm tired!

@confused107 I've been drinking a lot of tonic with no gin in later (although apparently tonic isn't good in pregnancy I figure it's better than alcohol). That might not work if people insist on buying your birthday drinks though.

@Brambles7 @TinyPaws thanks ladies!

My lining yesterday was 7.9 so they have booked me in for my transfer on 16th July. Bloody ages off, thought it'd be next Tuesday but I get the impression they book the FETs in when they have availability because they said the date doesn't matter as they're controlling the cycle.

I haven't had a drink and hardly been out in over a year @confused107, to say IVF takes over your life is a bit of an understatement (if you let it that is!) .

Is anyone else transferring on or around the 16th and can join me in the crazy TWW?! X

TinyPaws · 06/07/2019 16:56

@Bruce2 Welcome! How are you getting on in your 2WW? When will you test?

@Brambles7 Yes IVF requires a HUGE amount of patience! I try and take things one day at a time and keep busy so the time goes quicker. Have you got anything planned to take your mind off things?

@confused107 Oh I envy the lack of side effects of the buserelin! It really affects my mood. The swollen fingers could be due to the heat? You're a week ahead of me, my baseline scan should be on 16th.

@orangefolly and @confused107 Good luck for your scans on Tuesday! You can be cycle buddies!

I started buserelin and doxycycline yesterday (the doxy is in case of any subclinical infection related inflammation in the uterus, we're covering all bases given my previous unsuccessful attempts). Did parkrun this morning but had to stop and walk halfway around as my stomach was cramping and I felt sick. I've been on doxy before, hopefully the side effects will settle down soon. Been out at a country fair/steam rally today which was excellent - I'm quite partial to a bit of lawnmower racing!

Hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend!

@TinyPaws
Thank you.
No I don't think I will. I've had so many BFN over the years that I'll just hold off for AF or the blood test on 15th....whichever comes first!
I already think it hasn't worked as I'm having all my PMT symptoms. Sore right breast, bloated, slightly constipated (sorry TMI).
I'm watching my girls play in garden thinking this is it, and I will be very grateful for my lot!
Just doesn't feel any different to any other month at all!

How are you doing?

sometimesalways · 06/07/2019 22:34

Hello, may I join please? If all goes well, I am also due my FET end July, OP, we must be on similar timings!

Taking my last norethisterone tomorrow and then waiting on period/scan to start the full on process. (Just on buserelin spray for now and it is driving me slightly mad. It affects my mood quite a lot)

This is our first FET. I have a beautiful healthy boy from our first fresh cycle a couple years back. Unexplained infertility.

Good luck to all!

confused107 · 07/07/2019 11:18

Well I might have spoken too soon about the none side effects. Tiredness, dizziness and headache hit me like a truck yesterday. Not sure if it's the meds or if I'm just tired. Think I've been trying to do too much, had a though PT session on Friday and then park run yesterday in the heat. Was at a concert last night and just wanted to sleep. Nice lie in this morning and will spend the day pottering around the allotment. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend in the sunshine x

Viletta · 07/07/2019 13:10

Hi all,

I'm 33, ttc 1, MF, tried for about 3 years, 2 failed IVF, looking forward to my first FET hopefully next week. I've got prednizolone and aspirin in my protocol, is this standard? I'm a bit upset as I gained yet more weight after my second IVF.. wonder if this matter.. how's everyone doing? My second IVF was in Reprofit Czech, got 2 frosties

Viletta · 07/07/2019 13:14

I meant I'm hopefully starting my protocol next week. Had almost 2 weeks delay each time last 2 cycles after failed IVF .. hopefully this time af comes as normal

Bruce2 · 08/07/2019 09:16

Sitting on train to work and feel my period just started :(
