Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

I start Buserelin in May for FET and I'm terrified because I've been really emotional anyway for the last few months!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 30/04/2019 21:25

I’m stArting buserelin as well 12th may I hope I don’t get too emotional!! I didn’t really have many side effects on the bemfola and cetrotide apart from the odd headache and when I did feel emotional I think it was because I was fed up with how bloated I was and at such an early stage!!! Have you had any hot flushes or sweats I’ve heard these are quite common when takin buserelin?

jemimafuddleduck · 30/04/2019 21:31

Ahhhhhh @Spongebob79 she's SO cute! What are you going to call her? What is she?

Yeah I ran the marathon about 7 years ago after getting in through the ballot first time. I just feel like I have spent so much time putting my life on hold, thinking "I'd better not do this" or "I won't sign up to that because I might be pregnant". But I'm NOT fucking pregnant am I?! And who knows when I will be. So I made the decision to just try to carry on with my life as best as I can.
Does anyone else feel like this, like you're always WAITING?

Despite my rant 🤦‍♀️ I'm actually feeling pretty good at the moment. Keeping busy is helping.

Re the Buserelin, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I was an emotional wreck last cycle when I was on B. I don't know if it was solely down to that though.

LittleOne3 · 30/04/2019 21:56

I'm currently day 5 on buserelin, first cycle, and maybe a bit more emotional but still getting through the day okay. No headaches (although I heard they start towards the end of the 2 weeks) and no sweats.

Unfortunately any argument I have with my husband is currently put down to just my 'hormones' which is super annoying!

@spongebob79 your puppy is just gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️

Becsharry · 30/04/2019 23:43

Hi all, can I also join?
I’m due to start drugs at the weekend, we had one round of ivf six years ago and we had our 5aa blastocyst put back and now have our baby boy. We are using one of our embryos from our last round so will be fet and we have a 4ba and 4bb.
I feel incredibly lucky that we have our son and have been so scared to go through it again! Has anyone else had to wear the patches?
Good luck all x

Helene2019 · 01/05/2019 09:47

Hi everyone I started Buserelin this morning + easier than I thought it would be. Felt itchy where it was injected but now is ok. Due to have ICSI mid June. This is my first round of IVF so glad to hear from others going through the same.

CornishMaid1 · 01/05/2019 17:10

If it makes anyone have a bit of hope, I had bemfola and buserelin on my last cycle and I was okay in it. It did occasionally sting a bit and get a bit of reaction around the injection site at the time (faded within 30 mins if that), but I was not too emotional on them.

However, I was short protocol and had noresthisterone first and I was a complete emotional wreck on that! Maybe I got it all out before the buserelin started!!

Mrbay · 01/05/2019 17:47

Hi all!

Sorry only just caught up.

Hi to all the new peeps.

More puppy pic please!

My drugs and needles arrived at home today, feels weird having them inside the fridge alongside the milk!

@cornishmaid1 that's encouraging regarding your experience whilst on bemfola and buserelin

LittleOne3 · 01/05/2019 17:47

I wonder if anyone can answer some questions I have... I seem to have not properly understood/processed the info way back when! I'm on long protocol

  1. Has anyone had to have a downregulation scan after 2 weeks on buserelin before starting stims? I'm not sure what the scan is for entirely. Hoping someone might know.

  2. I keep bruising with my injections. I bruise fairly easily so might just be that, but any tips that people have heard/tried?

Thanks 😊

Spongebob79 · 01/05/2019 18:57

Thanks everyone, I’m really hoping she’s going to be a great distraction going through this cycle (not the reason we’re getting her btw) @jemimafuddleduck it’s such an amazing experience isn’t it, I’m thinking of entering and then can defer a year if needed.

@LittleOne3 yes i had a scan after downregging it’s just to make sure that you are basically downregged and everything is silent so you can start on an even level. I think I had an afc at that scan too. Good luck

Everyone on or starting Buserelin I didn’t find it too bad, just gave me headaches, lots of water and take a paracetamol if needed, that’s what my clinic advised.

jemimafuddleduck · 01/05/2019 21:07

@Spongebob79 do it! What have you got to lose?!

Weenumpty · 03/05/2019 17:19

How's everyone doing?

That's me been on buserilin for a week now, definitely less emotional but sorry to report I've had awful nausea Envy hopefully that's just me!
And hopefully my body is still just getting used to it and it will settle.

mouse1234567 · 03/05/2019 17:23

Hi all-hope everyone is trying on ok-now we are in May I’m imagining people are getting started.

@Becsharry my consultant mentioned patches for my FET but I have the nurses drugs protocol appointment next wed and will find out more about my drugs. Looking forward to finding out now. Although have rather enjoyed a break from the meds too!

@jemimafuddleduck yes totally agree about all the bloody waiting and putting life on hold -and it’s only been two years for me so can only imagine how frustrating that is for people that have been trying loads longer. This week I found a really good job opportunity -it’s would have been something different and interesting and I feel like I have been hanging on in my job for Mat leave -but I know I have to keep hanging on because we haven’t given IVF a go yet. I’m a teacher and have said to myself I am going to do one more academic year and after that change even if we are still trying! You have to have a life too don’t you.

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone.

Spongebob79 · 03/05/2019 18:21

Hi all hope everyone is doing ok? I had my pipelle and tia today. Pipelle was as horrible as usual, I think I’ve had 5 now but it was over quickly. During the tia I was given the prostap injection (also Lupron I think) I didn’t realise I was getting that, it’s a single down reg injection rather than the daily buserelin so was happy about that. Also got my timetable for the cycle, looking very real now. Donors ec is currently anticipated on 30th May so my meds will revolve around that.

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone, shame about the weather.

LittleOne3 · 03/05/2019 20:18

@mouse1234567 Yep I've done the exact same thing with my job - holding out for the mat leave against all better judgement. And also bought a house 2 years ago in an area with 'good schools' aargh! We're now moving house and I'm debating the same thing all over again... The ridiculousness.

@spongebob79 Is a pipelle an endometrial scratch? We haven't done that but if this cycle doesn't work then will probably go for it. Is it quite routine where you are?

Spongebob79 · 03/05/2019 20:36

Hi @LittleOne3 For some reason my clinic calls it a pipelle but yes it’s the same as the scratch and yes they do it routinely for all cycles but I suppose you could opt out if you wanted but you do sometimes feel you want to throw everything at it.

Aggiebleu · 03/05/2019 20:41

Hi all, nice reading everyone's updates. I am still waiting for AF to start my cycle so haven't had much happening here.

@Spongebob79 your puppy is adorable! Smile

Cauliflower82 · 06/05/2019 21:33

Hi everyone

I’ve taken a bit of a break from ivf forums over the past couple of days, but one week today and I will be on the buserelin! I’m freaking out. I can’t believe it’s almost here. I stupidly bought myself some pregnancy tests - spent another small fortune - in the hope we’d get out bfp and not have to go through with it. We can all pray.

How’s everyone doing on the buserelin?

Hi @cauliflower82 I start this Sunday coming should be getting me medication delivered Thursday doesn’t really seem real at the moment once I get that I’m sure it will just want to get on with it joe seems ages since ec!

Weenumpty · 07/05/2019 12:50

Getting on ok with the buserilin I'm just too impatient and am always looking to the next step. I've got my first scan on 15 th and that seems ages away! Feeling very tired and just a bit fed up!

Mrbay · 07/05/2019 16:40

First injection was on Sunday, took me a good 10-mins to pluck up the courage to stab myself with it! But was absolutely fine and the last 2 have been easy peasy. Can't say I feel any different with them but I suppose I am only on day 3.

@califlower82 - I feel the same as you, just wish it just happened naturally.

Had my last hoorah on Sunday - oh boy did I feel that all day Monday! As it was a social gathering had a few people as when my DH and I were going to get cracking with kids - annoying!

Cauliflower82 · 07/05/2019 17:20

@Finallytakingtheplunge ooh I forgot you were the day before me! Intense times. Not long to go for us now.

@weenumpty when is your egg collection due? Mine isn’t until 19th June - feels like an absolute life time away.

@Mrbay that’s reassuring! I take it you just did it yourself? I’m dreading the first one. I’m the worst at getting injections. Taking blood - totally fine, but putting stuff in and I hate it! Ugh, I wish people would mind their own business. There’s just no getting away from these people. I’m pretty open with most people now Hmm not sure if it’s the best way or not.

Weenumpty · 07/05/2019 17:53

I haven't got a date for collection yet, we'll see how it goes, I'll feel better when I know!

Mrbay · 07/05/2019 17:56

Yeah, had my nurse friend on stand-by in case I couldn't but now in a routine. Get up, wash hands and shoot up! Takes me maybe a 1-min or less. It is slightly itchy after the injection tho.

But I have a few social things coming around the EC/ET week, do I say I'll go and then drop out if I don't feel up to it?

Do any of you ride? I know they say to carry on as normal, but you can't help wonder what normal is?!

LittleOne3 · 07/05/2019 18:38

@weenumpty I think we've started our buserelin at the same time. I'll be D12 today. Is your scan for downregulation? Mine is tomorrow so a bit earlier than yours?? I've just finished my AF so hopefully am downregulated enough. If not I'll probably be joining you with your scan next week!

@mrbay I play netball every week but might give that a miss after ET for a couple of weeks. Don't want any jostling!
