Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

@Helene2019 I'm so sorry I missed mentioning your post! I hope you don't think I'm too self centred. I'm so sorry it was a negative. Take the break to relax. Have you any holidays booked?

@Mrbay it's really reassuring to hear that as I just imagine every couple are just excited and 100% about everything! Especially as a GP told me to deal with my anxiety/OCD I should stop the drugs and take a year off and make sure I'm certain!! I'm also wondering if being on the pill for 18 months then drugs then back to pill then more drugs etc have had an impact. You're completely right about the tone to think. If when we decided to go pub this journey we had just had sex and it had worked you wouldn't have that time to ruminate would you. The actual going in to have it planted in you isn't normal is it!

Cauliflower82 · 22/06/2019 06:11

@Helene2019 I’m so sorry, like everyone else has said really, to hear about your negative result. It’s so unfair but I’m glad to hear you get another two shots.

@Ginandtonic31

@RRoonilWazlib excellent news :)

@Welshpugmomma yay, last injection day for you :). It looks like next week is going to be a busy one for a lot of us. Please can you let me know how the trigger shot goes. I’m filled with anxiety about it and terrified me or my husband will screw it up.

@zest11 and @welshpugmomma very reassuring to know that this pain is normal - I’m so sore. I had a horrible stabbing pain in the right side of my stomach last night for about half an hour. It reminded me of having pleurisy a few years back 😖.

@Ginandtonic31 oops I’m not sure what happened but I tried to edit my message to you and then it went blank 🙊. I completely agree with @Mrbay that the saddest thing about ivf is that you’re kind of robbed the initial excitement and the spontaneity of it all. In fact we’ve even considered telling people it’s a freeze all whatever the outcome as it all feels like too much pressure. Sending you a big 🤗 nothing about this process is fair and it just leaves us too much time to ponder on way too many things.

@mrbay I know, absolutely definitely need to learn to distance myself from this person. She’s now trying for another and never fails to mention that her baby will be born exactly nine months after they dtd. Sometimes I just worry I’m bitter?!
Ooh a heatwave sounds gooooooooood.

@KittyKatSmile hope you’re home safe and sound now.

I’m at the clinic again this morning and I’m concerned I’ll cry 😂 I’m just in that kind of mood today. So anxious about the trigger shot which should hopefully be happening tomorrow now. We messed up the menopur on our first night but at least we had more - we only have one trigger pen. 😭 😭 😭 😭

@Ginandtonic31 I was wondering if you have tried Cognitive Behaviour Therapy - you can request a referral from you GP. I know several friends/family with anxiety and OCD disorders that have used the technique to help them. It gives you coping mechanisms (almost like tailored excercises) to stay on top of compulsions or anxiety behaviours. But for it to truly work you need to be open with the therapist and follow through with the tasks/excercises they set you for which there will likely be resistance.

I don't have any holidays per se but work trip potentially to Australia in November that I might be able to add a week to. But it all depends on when the clinic give me a new date. They only get one theatre slot a month, and they get them three months in advance and there's a waiting list of women requiring theatre EC. I find out on Thursday whether the waiting list is long and what slots they have already filled.

@Cauliflower82 I found the trigger a lot easier than the Menopur! Mine came in a pre filled syringe and an instruction leaflet with pictures (unlike my other two injections!). The needle was also significantly thinner. You are almost there now.

Also I can't remember who else had OTDs this week?

RRoonilWazlib · 22/06/2019 10:06

@Ginandtonic31 I have had the patches on from day 2 and the only symptom from them was slight bloating. As soon as I started taking the tablets, I had an awful headache that wouldn't shift. I also felt a bit out of it, which is hard to explain but I just didnt feel "there" if that makes sense? Like a bit of a head fog. I have been drinking loads of water and making sure I have plenty of time in between taking the tablets and the headaches and head fog have gone and I just feel all I feel now is a little queasy on and off. I'm been having 2 tablets around 630/7am, 2 at around 1230/1pm and then 2 more around 630ish. I definitely think the bigger gap between has helped.

RRoonilWazlib · 22/06/2019 10:07

I'm sorry you're not feeling great @Ginandtonic31 xxx

Ginandtonic31 · 22/06/2019 10:08

@Helene2019 yes I had it last year for anxiety but my anxiety was mild at the time so I found it really useful and manages to put a lot of things into practice. But this feels a massive issue and I'm struggling with the coping mechanisms for mild anxiety as all seems far too big. I'm currently with a counsellor but just looking for a cbt therapist this weekend as counselling is great short term but with ocd it's actually a reassurance so doesn't last long. I really need the cbt. If we weren't having the ivf every day I would just think well we will see how it goes and eventually the thoughts would just stop but I think I feel I've this big decision because if it works we are bound to each other for life!😂

@Cauliflower82 don't worry about trigger. Mine was different as I had Buserelin and had to draw it myself but during stimms I had Gonal F in a pen and it was so easy. The needle was tiny too. Never felt a thing. It will be over and done before you know it.

Becsharry · 22/06/2019 11:12

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF hello, I’ve just had fet 5day transfer on Tuesday and I had a little brown discharge the next evening.
Having pulling type cramps all day everyday.
Feeling emotional on and off. When’s your test date ? Good luck x

mouse1234567 · 22/06/2019 12:07

@Helene2019 I’m so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you. Best of luck with the cycle prep and I hope it’s more of a three month wait than six.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Thank you all for your support. This week has been pretty tough. I visited the early preg unit -who were amazing. They did hcg blood test and it only raised from 76 to 159 in almost six days so I’m preparing myself to miscarry. I really hope its not ectopic. I have to go for repeat bloods on Monday (my bday!!) and take it from there. Not sure what to expect and how long it will take to miscarry. Still injecting three times a day as long as pessaries which feels like a really cruel blow at the mo!

Feel very low -but I know we will pick ourselves up again-can’t quite get my head around gearing up for all this again-but I know time is a great healer! Literally stuffed myself with choc and crisps!!

Happy weekend everyone.

mouse1234567 · 22/06/2019 12:08

*still injecting three times a day as well as pessaries!

KittyKatSmile · 22/06/2019 13:14

Darling @mouse1234567, did the EPU tell you to prepare yourself for that? Thinking of you darling girl.

@Helene2019 sorry it wasn't better news. You sound in positive spirits, which is good. Take some time for yourself and be in the best possible place/shape etc for the next shot. As you know I'm not one for any hippy mumbo jumbo but it has really helped me this time round, especially mentally.

@Cauliflower82 crystalflower. We are soon going to be at 1,000 posts, you popular girl at which point we'll be shut down! Do you want to do the honours and set up the follow up? Make sure you tag your loyal followers :-)

I've just had an interesting one (two actually). Last night the plunger of my hated blood thinner syringe fell out (wtf) and I don't have spares with me so had to try and put it back together again leading me to spray stuff all over myself. I am covered in little blood blisters. @Cauliflower82 or crystal, please come round and do the injections for me!!

And then today I went to shove some drugs up my bum at 10am (as you do when having a lovely al fresco breakfast with your mummy) only to find they had melted, squirted over me (again) and I had to shove as much as I could in the front door. Ladies, I hope you are enjoying the imagery from your favourite PMA Kitty Grin

(Bonus fun fact: my friends think it's hilarious that I have this positive online avatar as IRL I'm actually a moany bitch Smile)

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/06/2019 13:16

Afternoon,

@KittyKatSmile I’m sure we’ve all missed and got our hands at some point 😂

@Cauliflower82 thanks the clinic rang back first thing yesterday morning and Im now on three pessaries i has some more on and off all day but not loads but then I’ve had some more today aswell but no cramps today! How are you getting on?

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/06/2019 13:20

@Becsharry hi I’ve had it for the last three days not loads but enough to wear at liner at times! I had cramps aswell but they seem to of stopped today! I am exhausted though but I think that might be the stress of it all!

@mouse1234567 even though I haven’t posted much on here I have kept an eye out for your updates! Sorry to hear it’s not good news fingers crossed for you though xx

Mrbay · 22/06/2019 13:45

Afternoon girls!
@Ginandtonic31 - I'm not sure what else to say. Does your employer have an employee assist program? We have one at work and you get 6 free sessions so might be worth an ask.
All MH is a disability, the GP wouldn't dream of telling you to wait if you had a physically disability. You will be fine and you and your DH will cope.
@Cauliflower82 /crystal 😂 - I swear me are friends with crystal84 and crystal85! I was telling my friend about my struggle and she said she was going to start trying soon. Of course, she stops her pill, gets pregnant within a week or two - these crystals can f**k off!! Ps hope this morning went well and good luck with your 'nursing' tomorrow! I'm about to be a crystal, I have the pens for my next injections.
@Becsharry - hi! Fingers crossed for you and I've got everything crossed for an implantation bleed.
@mouse1234567 - so sorry to read your update. I don't know if this is insensitive but you have to look at the positive at least your embryo has stuck and grown a little, o that has to be something positive to take away. I'm so scared that I won't get to that stage as I've never managed to get pregnant.
@KittyKatSmile I LOVE your update!! I'm not at the same stage as you but it did make me laugh - sorry not sorry 😉.

Becsharry · 22/06/2019 14:28

@Mrbay Thank you! On my last IVF I didn’t have any bleed at all just a little golden brown discharge towards the end of my 2ww and got a BFP with my son who’s now six. I think I’m focusing too much on how I felt last time. Good luck to all of you on your journeys x

@Helene2019 thank you. We’ve been shown how to use the trigger today and it doesn’t seem too difficult. It looks intimidating though 😦. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for Thursday and hoping you don’t need to wait too long.

@Ginandtonic31 I’m feeling a bit happier about the trigger now, thank you.

@KittyKatSmile 😲 I had no idea you could only go up to a 1000. Out of fear, I’ve set one up quickly and attached the link. We’re all making it popular, not me 😂. Especially you with your hilarious anecdotes. I hope you’re okay because, although funny one day to look back on, I can imagine that must have been really stressful.

@mouse1234567 is it possible at all that things are going to be okay with this pregnancy? In all honesty, I don’t know much but is it good that your levels are continuing to rise. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It just never stops.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I’m whingy today. Were the days before egg collection painful for you too? Hope you’re doing okay with the extra dosage.

@Mrbay 😂 😂 it’s bloody hard being friends with a crystal, isn’t it?!

I’m in a right mood today 😖. The senior nurse thinks the date for egg collection should be Wednesday again as she can see a group progressing nicely. I’m a bit concerned they’re not as worried about ohss as I am. I know they want as many eggs as possible and so do I but not at the expense of my own health. I feel totally 💩 right now. Utter poo. Everything is so sore - every time I take a step it feels like I’m being thrown down seven flights of stairs (possibly a slight exaggeration but you get my gist) 😂 😂
Seven more injections now. I’m at the same point as yesterday. Most of my follicles are about 17 but there’s a couple of 14s just lagging behind.
