Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

Hi all
Glad to hear the injections have gone well for those of you who have started.
I had my scan yesterday to check my lining but it's nowhere near thick enough. They have told me to take even more Progynova now - I've gone from 6mg per day to 16mg 😢
I'm really worried and concerned as our donor is supposed to be having her EC early next week but I'm not sure what they'll do if my lining is rubbish.
I'm booked in for another scan on Monday so am really hoping all is ok, and I've booked in an acupuncture appointment for tomorrow - anything to help!!!

Cauliflower82 · 07/05/2019 21:54

@Mrbay I’ve unfortunately got a similar problem. My best friend’s hen weekend is the weekend before e/c and I’m really worried about it. I think I’m going to try and make no more plans now. It’s difficult explaining why though.

Thank you for the reassurance about injections. I’ll be shooting up with you soon.

Drive? I do, every day and I’d just kind of taken it for granted that I could continue doing so. Is it risky?

@jemimafuddleduck oh, bless you. All you can do is follow your doctor’s orders. I’ll be thinking of you and praying that everything goes well. You’ve got lots of time left so try not to worry about it. Easier said than done.
Acupuncture sounds like a good idea right now.

@LittleOne3 I'm on day 12 now! I'm doing a long protocol is that why my scan would be later than yours? Hope your scan goes well today

Weenumpty · 08/05/2019 07:37

@jemimafuddleduck sorry to hear about your lining not being as good as you'd want, hopefully the new dosage will help. Let us know how acupuncture goes! I'm going to reflexology just now and as much as possible in the lead up to egg collection. I definitely feel better after going and it's amazing what she's told me and shown me on my feet!!

LittleOne3 · 08/05/2019 19:12

@weenumpty I have no idea - they've said I'm on long protocol too but I guess there are different versions then?! Anyway they were happy with today's scan so want me to start stims tomorrow.

I have a silly question - have you (or maybe someeone else in the thread has come across this?) started a new bottle of buserilin yet? My bottles are 5.5mls which should be 11 doses. However I'm currently day 13 and there's still some left in my first vial... Just worried its not the right concentration perhaps. Going to change to the next bottle tomorrow anyway just in case.

Hope everyone is still getting on okay

mouse1234567 · 08/05/2019 19:38

Hi all-had drugs protocol appointment today and have just started norethisterone this evening and will be starting buserelin a week today-not looking forward to getting back on the injections but also keen to get started! Finally also got a date for my hysteroscopy today which is scheduled for this Friday-very short notice but I’m excited it means my FET can get started on time.

Hope everyone is getting on ok. I’m really trying to get myself back on track healthy living wise -so hard after my break after egg collection!

jemimafuddleduck · 08/05/2019 22:49

Thanks guys.
@LittleOne3 great news your scan went well. When is EC planned for?
@mouse1234567 also good news for you, yay!

I had my acupuncture today. Obviously no idea if it's helped but nothing ventured nothing gained and all that.

I'm feeling pretty down today tbh. I just want it to be Monday so I can have another scan and know whether my lining is better.

If it's not, I'm not sure what will happen, but I'm pretty sure it'll mean this cycle will be cancelled 😢

mouse1234567 · 09/05/2019 07:54

@jemimafuddleduck thank you. Woke up feeling quite nauseous and anxiety about the op tomorrow -prob good I have work to distract me! This journey is exhausting and full of hurdles isn’t it!!

It must be very stressful re your lining -hopefully it just needs a few more days to get to the right thickness -have my fingers crossed for you!

LittleOne3 · 09/05/2019 08:13

@jemimafuddleduck not sure about EC. I'm on a really low dose of menopur incase I overstim so might take a while. I start my follicle scans next tues.

Really sorry that you're at such an uncertain point. Would it help calling your nurses to find out what happens if it doesn't work? It might help to know for sure

@mouse good luck tomorrow. I hope you find something to keep you vaguely relaxed today!

xx

Cauliflower82 · 09/05/2019 17:12

@jemimafuddleduck I’m so sorry to hear you’re not having a good day. I second giving the doctors a call and finding out what would happen just in case lining wasn’t thick enough. Hopefully all will not be lost - is freezing an option at all? Also, you’ve still got four days left so hopefully the drugs will be doing exactly what they are there for. Thinking of you and sending good luck vibes.

jemimafuddleduck · 09/05/2019 22:13

Thanks for your positive thoughts.

So I called my clinic this morning. They seem confident that the increase (doubling!) of my meds should improve the lining. If it's not better by Monday they will prescribe Viagra (!).

If it's still not ok, then they will continue with EC and freeze all. The issue is that we have already booked and paid for our flights and accommodation to go over there. So could be a complete waste of £1k if transfer is cancelled. Plus the £450 I have spent on scans this cycle so far 😢

I have the added stress that because they've doubled my meds, I need more of it. They e sent me a prescription but nowhere will accept it. I'm getting really stressed now 😭

DawnK77 · 09/05/2019 22:42

Hi all!
Can I join... Off for nurses appointment on 13th, I think this is to be shown how to inject etc, and I've had my protocol info sent through, apparently gets delivered to the house, so I presume I'm starting on Northisterone (is this is spelt correctly) once I get it all! They haven't mentioned short or long, I'll ask the nurse on Monday. It's so nerve racking going into the unknown, I'm also changing jobs so thinking of excuses!

Mrbay · 10/05/2019 15:00

Hey!

How is everyone feeling at the moment?

I'm back to re-reading Get A Life - very useful as it's a husband and wife book regarding their IVF experience.

Is anyone's clinic taking part in the tilt study?

Also, anyone else overcome with hunger and also pretty grumpy on bureslin?

jemima - I have everything crossed for you :)

Weenumpty · 10/05/2019 17:44

Oh @jemimafuddleduck that's so stressful for you, hope you get the meds sorted soon and it works, sending good luck!

Yes, I was very grumpy the first week on buserilin but much better now- day 14

Zest11 · 10/05/2019 18:02

Hello, please can I join in? I will start injections in 3 weeks, EC end of June and transfer planned for end of June or beginning of July depending on how things go. This is our first go at IVF and we just get the 1 NHS cycle in our area.

LittleOne3 · 10/05/2019 20:51

@jemimafuddleduck That actually sounds pretty positive. I don't think the nurses would give you false hope and they don't seem too concerned so keep going 🤞.

@Mrbay not grumpy on buserilin but defo hungry! D11 I started with headaches. But they've gone since I started stimming

Has anyone heard of the podcast Big Fat Negative?

jemimafuddleduck · 10/05/2019 22:43

Thanks everyone 😊

@LittleOne3yes I love BFN!! I listen to it religiously every Tuesday morning 😊 also great is The Infertile Mafia.

Would definitely recommend both - although I'm not sure how I feel about BFN now they're both preggers 😒

Cauliflower82 · 11/05/2019 09:35

Hi folks
A little reassuring update from me. I went for my drugs teaching yesterday and it was not as bad as I anticipated at all. I got to have a go twice and both times I didn’t feel a thing and I am the biggest wimp. It might be different on Monday with the buserelin in but something tells me it’s going to be just fine.
The nurse also recommended this board to me as a supportive community Wink

LittleOne3 · 11/05/2019 10:27

@jemimafuddleduck Oh my goodness just listened to the first episode of BFN - love it! Although will stop listening when they get pregnant - not ready for that yet. Will start listening to The Infertile Mafia at that point! Thanks for the recommendation 😁

LittleOne3 · 11/05/2019 10:29

@Cauliflower82 good work on the injections. If the buserilin stings I found injecting it slower helps. Good luck for Monday 👍

mouse1234567 · 11/05/2019 10:51

Hi all,
My hysteroscopy went well yesterday -in the end they couldn’t see the polyp-it must have gone on it’s own-but they gave me a scratch and said everything is good to go. Feeling pretty groggy and tired today but the cramps have subsided. Gonna take it quite easy this weekend.

Need to start being positive and focus on the FET but feel quite exhausted by it all and am half excited and half not about starting the buserelin next wed. Do you guys feel the same? Feel like I am worn out and bit over it since the freeze all egg collection. I was in a really good head space before the stimms -need to get back there! I’m sure I will feel better once recovered on Monday!

I also love BFN but must say I have stepped away a bit since they are both pregnant -it can be quite hard to hear.

Zest11 · 11/05/2019 11:03

Hi DawnK77 I think we are at a similar stage. My nurse appt is on the 24th and I start down regging on the 29th. Not sure what meds I will be taking but it will all be delivered soon. Please let me know what happens at your nurse appt? Is this your first IVF?

Mrbay · 11/05/2019 13:19

Hi to all the newbies!

I went to bed as a grumpy f**ker last night, I don't think that's what DH needed after a 15hr shift!

My body does not agree with burselin, I was debating about giving my horse up last night (I've ridden since 7 and owner since 11 so a good 28-years!) I swear the drugs are affecting my confidence, last time I schooled my horse, I was pretty much in tears when he had a little mess around. Honestly, he's pretty sane and not lot he does worries me. For example, if he rears its like 6 inches off the ground!!

I'm finding having a friend tell me, remember your feelings are the drugs and not what I actually feel and will pass. Please tell me that the stim drugs are easier on your body & MH. Not sure I can handle 3 or more cycles of this.

Cauliflower82 · 11/05/2019 22:02

@Mrbay I’m so sorry to hear you’re not doing too well on the buserelin. As if it’s not enough that we’ve all had a crappy time anyway, and now there are high doses of drugs to throw into the situation too. How different do you feel? I’m a teacher and I am worried that the drugs will turn me into a monster and I’m usually incredibly calm and happy. I don’t mean to make it about me, it’s just worrying that’s all. I hope you feel better soon. How are you doing with headaches and sleep?
