Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

Hi all, I just had an EC yesterday for my first IVF but due to a strong response to the drugs and a suspected polyp we are being made to do a freeze all. In the meantime I need a hysteroscopy to remove the polyp. I had a meeting with my consultant today and I should be able to transfer about mid June and will be starting downregs again in about a month. Thought I would say hi because I will be cycling with you all.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter. My DH and I are treating ourselves to lots of eggs and unhealthy treats since our transfer has been cancelled!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 18/04/2019 21:01

Hi can I join too please?

I had ec on wed but had to freeze all due to my final blood results showing a massive increase in my hormone levels so will be doing a fet in may hopefully ! Have a call next with with my consultant to talk about it!

@cauliflower82 the needles are not as bad as you think once you have done one you will realise it’s worse in your head then the reality! You do kind of get use to them

Cauliflower82 · 22/04/2019 13:18

@mouse1234567
Sounds like you’ve had a tough time.
Sounds like we might be downregging together. I start on the 13th of May Sad

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Did you do long protocol too?
How did the talk with your consultant go?

OP posts:
FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/04/2019 14:24

@cauliiflower82 no we did short protocol! My call is on wed so not had it yet! I have had 2 day 3 embryos to freeze and had my day 5 call today and have another 3 so 5 in total am very pleased with that! Was going to do fet with next af however af has shown up today 5 days after ec so will now have to wait till my next one but trying to be positive in that my body gets more time to recover.

Hope everyone had had a nice Easter weekend!

Cauliflower82 · 22/04/2019 15:03

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF
Wow, that’s fantastic news! Amazing result. I’d be so happy with that, totally over the moon.
Can I ask how you got to do short?
I am being forced to do the long protocol much to my frustration. I mustn’t complain too much as I know here in the U.K. we’re lucky to have the NHS.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/04/2019 15:44

@cauliflower82 we are private and are with create who don’t do long as far as I am aware. Did you ask if you could do short then? What were he reasons for not letting you? Thanks just keen to get one on board now!

Cauliflower82 · 22/04/2019 17:24

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF I’ve read about create and they sound like my kind of clinic, but it’s so far away from me. I live in the North East of England.
They just said with my numbers I’d have more success with a long protocol. If I had an endless supply of money (which I clearly don’t), I’d prefer mild ivf and to do more cycles if required. I don’t like the idea of large doses of drugs in my body - I’d prefer to space it out.

mouse1234567 · 22/04/2019 18:36

@Cauliflower82 sounds like we will be downregging at similar time -I estimate about 10th May although I haven’t got my period yet so that will prob change by a few days. Are you also taking norethisterone?

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF sounds like we had our eggs collected on the same day! Sorry your transfer is delayed too -we will prob now be transferring at a similar time -I estimate mine to be around 12th June perhaps. I’m finding it a little annoying having to wait but also rather pleased to have a few weeks off drugs -I have found it all quite exhausting! I also imagine that it will come round quicker for us than we imagine!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/04/2019 18:48

@cauliflower82 the main reason we went with them was because of hopefully less drugs I still had to do 10days but I had to be on the lowest does due to having a lot of follicles!! If non of my Frosties work then I will definitely use them again! Hopefully it will be worth all the drugs in the end for you!

@mouse1234567 so we did! How are you feeling now? I’m feeling like my old self well apart from af showing really early but I guess it’s to be expected and my boobs were so sore since from about trigger day!! Hoping this will go with af appearing!! I have no idea about dates now or if I am doing a medicated or non medicated fet I have a call on wed to discuss with my consultant.

mouse1234567 · 22/04/2019 19:17

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF my boobs were so saw since the trigger too and still so sore and armpits-I guess the tenderness will go down after AF. I expect my AF soon too as I often have a short luteal phase. Hope yours isn’t too painful?

I hope your call goes well with your consultant -I felt a lot better and more positive once mine explained the next steps to me -it made it all seem much sooner than I expected. Just need to wait on the hospital with a date for my hysteroscopy -hopefully I will hear from them this week and the date won’t push everything back!

I’m feeling ok-much less bloated -and sorry tmi but I was really constipated and that has finally sorted itself out. I do feel quite tired tho. Back to work after two weeks off tomo (I’m a teacher) so I do wonder if the tiredness is more just worry about getting back in the routine etc. I said to DH earlier I honestly don’t know if mentally and physically I could have handled the TWW right now -sort of glad of a breather to build my strength back up! Feel a bit wiped out with it all-but def recovering slowly.

Ginandtonic31 · 23/04/2019 07:27

Hi everyone. Thought I would stick my nose in here as I am scheduled to start drugs 21 May for a FET with a possible transfer date of end of June. Thought the support would be handy as suffered mentally quite a bit x

Mrbay · 23/04/2019 15:29

Love reading all the positivity!

Got our meeting with the consultant tomorrow and I'm freaking out that I don't know what to expect or questions that I should him.

I hoping that they will be able to give us a start date tomorrow.

Still undecided about sharing eggs.

What are the drugs like? Extreme PMT?

Ginandtonic31 · 23/04/2019 18:05

Hi @Mrbay whilst on the drugs I was fine! What drugs are you taking? I've suffered emotionally and mentally however since June last year after my first round and I can't say whether it's the drugs or just the pressure from the experience and the ups and downs!

I think as the appointment goes on you will figure out what you would like to ask. And don't be afraid to ask! I asked a question that even had my DH laughing last week at an appointment but I wanted to know!

If you share eggs do you get a cost benefit?

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 23/04/2019 18:28

@mouse1234567 af is pretty horrible I normally have bad cramps and am heavy but this is worse then normal just hope it doesn’t last to long as I read it can be longer? I feel i was quite lucky that I didn’t get constipated even brought prunes as a jist in case! Yes I have been quite tired to think it’s very tiring emotionally! Yes I am glad of the break.

@mrbay I suppose it depends on the drugs I was on bemfola and cetrotide and apart from a few headaches to start with and the bloating (but I do have 33 follicles) they weren’t to bad.

Mrbay · 23/04/2019 22:42

@ginandtonic31 - not started drugs yet but hoping they'll tell me tomorrow when we'll be starting.
If I was private, I believe that they reduce the treatment cost but it won't make a difference to me as I'm NHS. I feel that I if I can help another couple/person have a baby, then I want to do this. My DH on the other hand, isn't so sure.

Cauliflower82 · 24/04/2019 17:15

@mouse1234567 excellent! I’m feeling quite positive having a ‘going into menopause temporarily’ buddy :). I’m taking buserelin. I have no idea of the differences though and I have forbidden myself of doing any further ‘research’ (I.e googling extensively)

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF thank you - I’m hoping it’s worth it too. Create sound like a fabulous clinic - I’m hoping your frostie sticks. How did your talk with the consultant go today?

@Mrbay how did you get on today?

Cauliflower82 · 24/04/2019 17:20

@Ginandtonic31 welcome! I’m sorry to hear you’re having a tough time too. Hopefully we can all offer each other support during this horrid time. Do you have a lot of support from family or friends? My husband and I decided just to tell all our parents, siblings and closest friends - it’s been really helpful at times. The only thing that irritates me is many manypeople assume success immediately and I want to remain grounded and realistic as well as hopeful.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 24/04/2019 18:23

@cauliflower82 well he gave me my grades for the three 5 day embroys so have 2 AA and 1 BB so am very pleased! He was surprised the lab had frozen 2 of my embroys at day 3 but he said it wouldn’t make a difference and nothing to worry about but we will be using one of the AA blastocyst! I will be doing a medicated fet so will start on cycle day 21 which will be 13th may for two weeks so not to long to go can’t remember what
Meds but I have a follow up call with the nurse tomorrow to go through it again.

Cauliflower82 · 24/04/2019 18:39

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF that’s excellent news!! So happy for you. I’m just learning about embryo grades atm so you’re adding to my knowledge - thank you. 13th of May is my first injection too. So do you have five frosties in total? That is incredible! What a fabulous result.

OP posts:
FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 24/04/2019 18:51

Yes 5 in total two frozen at day three which are grade 1 so they are good too! I know it’s all a mind field isn’t it with the. Grades! Oh wow look like you me and mouse12345 are all going to be cycle buddies how exciting be nice to have someone to share it with!

Ginandtonic31 · 24/04/2019 18:57

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF and @Cauliflower82 I'm starting on 21st May so just a week behind you. I've got Suprecur (burserelin) for two weeks, then a scan, then carry on with that and eostrogen tablets for two weeks. Hopefully then will be ready and start progesterone pessaries for a week before transfer 😫
I don't know anything about grading as I've not been told any grades. I'm just hoping they pick the best one.

@Cauliflower82 I've told my parents and my mum is a great support.

mouse1234567 · 24/04/2019 21:32

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF my period arrived today a week after EC-with my endo my period are always pretty grim but this is a really tough one!! I’m trying to see the good side in that im now hopefully only 7 weeks from transfer! Great news on your egg grades! We are lucky to have quite a few in the freezer but I didn’t get an AAs annoyingly. Think our best are AB- or B+B+
DO you understand the defrosting? I think they maybe have to do two at a time according to a colleague at work-in case one doesn’t thaw properly?!

@cauliflower82 yes to a downregging buddy! Period started so I will start northisterone on 8th May I think. I think my consultant did mention buserelin tho so maybe it’s that too?! I think that’s another injection isn't it?! Great! My protocol appointment is also on 8th May.i am pleased I don’t have to wait to long -this process really drags doesn’t it!

I have been quite open with quite a few people, family, friends, colleagues -sometimes I wonder if it’s too many when They all wonder how it’s going! Although most people luckily know not to ask!

mouse1234567 · 24/04/2019 21:34

@Ginandtonic31 hi to another cycle buddy!

mouse1234567 · 24/04/2019 21:35

Also I’m desperate for a bath to calm my cramps -is it ok a week after EC (frozen transfer so no risk to implantation)? -I’m worried about risk of infection

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 24/04/2019 21:53

@mouse12345 go for the bath I had one on Monday night it was great!
