Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

@mouse1234567 I was under the impression they only need to defrost one and if it doesn't thaw will just do another. I asked the nurse if it would delay and she said it thaws quickly, not like waiting for your chicken to thaw on the windowsill 😂

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 24/04/2019 22:03

@ginandtonic31I think we are all pretty close so will overlap!

@mouse1234567 your grades are good too! Erm not sure about defrosting he said we would put one of the AA back but didn’t mention that they would defrost more then one at a time! I hope not! I think my consultant mentioned buserelin aswell and yes injections 😩 again! Not looking forward to the length of time we might have to do that for!!

Mrbay · 24/04/2019 22:31

Hi all!

I feel like you've got this a lot more sussed than me!

Completed all our paperwork today and I start the first lot of injections on the 10th may and EC is likely for w/c 3rd June.

I had no idea I'd have yet another internal scan today, given my low AMH the consultant was pretty surprised with what he saw (I have no idea as I can never make out what I should see on an ultrasound!)

This is getting really real now! Shock

I think I made the egg sharing up as it was never in the pack, there was just a side note stating it.

I did forget to ask, does it matter where you inject? At least the needle doesn't look overly bad and they've confirmed that my higher injection will be a pen - phew!

Mrbay · 24/04/2019 22:32

Sorry I meant tigger not higher - stupid autocorrect!!

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 00:18

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF we've had to sign something to say if the first doesn't defrost we leave it at the experts discretion whether to defrost more.

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 00:18

@Mrbay I just alternated each day between each side of my tummy. An inch or so from belly button.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 25/04/2019 07:11

@ginandtonic31 I haven’t signed anything yet so not sure what our clinic does but it makes sense to say if one doesn’t then it’s ok to do another

mouse1234567 · 25/04/2019 08:06

Wrote a long message and it deleted -so annoying!!

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF @Ginandtonic31 yes I think my friend has perhaps got muddled -maybe the clinic just meant if they need to they defrost another /like you said at their discretion. The clinic send my details of all the egg grading in a month or so -will be nice to see. Thanks re my grading -im going to try not get too hung up on them being not top top-the embryologist said not to worry and I guess they know best.

@Mrbay I think I will have my frozen transfer a few days after your fresh one all being well!

I have really fallen off the wagon health wise since my egg collection -giving myself two weeks and once I start norethisterone I’m going to try get my body in a better state -I just love sugar and it’s so boring isn’t it?! Prob one of my worst parts of all this!

Mrbay · 25/04/2019 13:05

@ginandton31 (I love your name BTW!)

Thanks, I stupidly didn't ask them but luckily if I cannot go through with the injections my DH or nurse friend will be able to do them.

@mouse1234567 - exciting!! I know how you feel about the sugar, I really need to cut down and drop 1 stone but the calling of the sugar, fat and generally nice tasting stuff is too great! I must do some research regarding what isn't safe to eat so I can stuff my face with the items before next month! Is raw egg not allowed??

Are we all pretty much on the same dates for EC?

I know I shouldn't but I have already started looking at what stuff a baby will need and have a good idea of which pram I'd like - totally tempting fate as I don't know if this will work but I suppose it's nice to imagine.

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 14:23

@Mrbay how ironic that gin is the worst thing we can probably have through this 😂although I didn't drink through stimms, surely a couple of drinks whilst prepping for a transfer would be ok through the meds?!

Also to add when we found out we had 15 frozen embryos (before they were PGD tested) I looked at prams too! But then I flipped the other way and got so anxious I didn't want to look at all.

Has anyone on here got PCOS? I've a personal question that's sending me mad and wondered if it's just me!

mouse1234567 · 25/04/2019 14:34

@Ginandtonic31 I have PCO but not the syndrome as such. Wow -you have so many frozen too! I’m 14 -that’s the polycystic ovaries for you!

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 14:55

@mouse1234567 I think I just have PCO too. This might be a bit of topic and tmi bit does the hormonal imbalance affect sex drive do you think?

I now have 11 embryos after they were tested for my husband's dodgy gene but yes definitely down to PCO! I had so many follicles before starting.

Mrbay · 25/04/2019 16:16

@ginandtonic31 my consultant said continue as normal, just don't go and get trashed!
That's a massive amount!! Do you have a good AMH?
i suppose its natural to start looking and seeing what you can afford and where to go to test drive them!
I dont have PCOS but I have had cysts due to endo so happy to help if I can.
@mouse1234567 - I am very jealous, I think I'll be lucky to get 5 eggs collected, so we'll be dealing with very low numbers.
For this reason, I think I've been put on a high dose to stim

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 16:46

@Mrbay I've never known what my AMH is but I get the feeling it's ok as my first round I was on the lowest dosage of meds and only got 4 and the consultant said from your results we would have expected better but round 1 is always a bit of an experiment as don't know body. So I took that my AMH seemed ok.

Joijoijo · 25/04/2019 18:29

Dear all , please may i join . I stsrt ivf in may and june and really need some support . Feels so lonely

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 18:56

@Joijoijo always here for everyone. No need to be lonely. Tell us everything and we will hold your hand through it! I've just done two cycles so feel a pro at that bit now.

mouse1234567 · 25/04/2019 19:27

@Ginandtonic31 I’m not sure whether it can affect sex drive -but it’s hormonal so that seems to make sense. I don’t have a huge one and luckily -neither does my DH -we are more quality over quantity!

mouse1234567 · 25/04/2019 19:32

@Mrbay sorry to hear you are worried about not collecting lots of eggs-coz of my PCO my AMH is elevated -however I’m not sure my eggs are great quality!

I put on another thread but one of my best friends recently did IVF -very low AMH -highest drug dose -really expected low numbers/didn’t get loads of eggs but more than she expected -even got a few embryos in the freezer. Plus the one they put in stuck and she is now pregnant. So fingers crossed for you.

Aggiebleu · 25/04/2019 19:33

Hello Ladies, may I join you too?

I am just turning 40 (in two days! I can hardly believe it!) and it's my first cycle. I'm single and doing this with a donor.

I had a freeze all last month and waiting to start FET in May. AF is due around the 6th so ET should be towards end of May.
I had 8 eggs collected and 3 made it to the freezer but they are not the best quality. Still, so far so good and I can't wait to start getting ready for ET!

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 19:40

@mouse1234567 I also worry about quality due to pco but then think surely they wouldn't have fertilised and got to day 5?! Our would they?

Mine seems to have walked out the door at the min @mouse1234567! I was just wondering if it could be hormonal. I've over searched the internet 😂

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 19:41

Hi @Aggiebleu! I'm also doing a transfer in May. But probably won't start drugs until the 21 May.

Mrbay · 25/04/2019 20:46

Hey @joijoijo & @aggiebleu welcome!

@ginandtonic31 - you've got me on the G&T tonight Smile
It only takes one to stick around! A lady at work was the same, got 3 ECed, 2 made it to transfer and I saw her little boy running around the office today!
But it's still a worry that I'll be reason it doesn't work but luckily age is on my side so everything is crossed.
If you got yours to day 5, they must be excellent quality, I have everything crossed for you!
Luckily, due to DH's job, we've got 3 full cycles on the NHS so the consultant felt like he's a got a little more flexibility to go in with mid range dose of drugs and if it doesn't work as well as expected, I can go up.

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 21:21

@Mrbay arrrgh no I want one! But I'm on a last ditch attempt to lose weight for a holiday next week. Mind you gin is low calorie...

Yes we get 3 rounds too so my first round I was in the lowest dose then upped slightly on the second round. But I was only upped slightly and the difference was huge!

Joijoijo · 25/04/2019 21:55

Is anyone having ivf with create

mouse1234567 · 26/04/2019 06:51

@Ginandtonic31 yes I agree I don’t think they would bother freezing embryos that have no chance -but then I did worry once I have used up my two NHS do they keep them so I keep paying to get them out back haha! Hopefully not!!

@Mrbay I’m not sure re eating raw eggs actually. Hubby and I are going to have a fun relaxed eating weekend and then I might try and be more focused next week. A bit more! Not going to go full force till after the bank

I always look up due dates on a calculator and things like that but actually I haven’t ever really been inclined to baby clothes shop or prams. Not sure why -just haven’t had the urge -which is good as I can get carried away.

Hi @Aggiebleu welcome! What are your drugs like for FET? There are quite a few of us doing frozen transfers.

I get two to NHS rounds and I’m at RMU at UCLH which is great as it’s linked with CRGH who have excellent success rates. I really like it there. I have been worrying lately though that two isnt too much and if this one fails we need to start thinking about how we might fund it. Stressful isn’t it! Goode’s have frozen ones there at least it’s cheaper -though can imagine some of them aren’t great ones!

Also -I’m starting another thread about this but how do you guys find balancing work and IVF? So happy it’s fri ok that note!
