IVF/ICSI May/June

Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

@Zest11 mine is pencilled in for the 26 too!! I’m just hopeful it’ll be sooner, but I’m just going off hope, nothing else. Feeling any different? I’m not quite sure - when I’m lying down I do. Standing up I feel normal.

@Cauliflower82 I didn't feel anything at all really when mine were ready. I felt a lot different (worse) when I froze my eggs 4 years ago and actually they got exactly the same number.... fingers crossed for you lovely xx

I'm currently resisting the temptation to do an early detection pregnancy test (OTD is Friday). I don't think it has worked though as I dont feel any different with the exception that my boobs are just mega aching from the pessaries!

I am all done now ladies and positively skipping with joy on my way to my post transfer acupuncture whilst googling how the hell you actually buy pineapple core!! (I shall probably ignore that and just eat a lot of scrumpy Portuguese food!)

The doctor said to me that the embryo was a real cutie and said 'not only are you an attractive woman, you make very attractive embryos'. Ha ha ha. I said 'I think they've got an attractive father. Obviously I don't know. I've never met him'!

@BellaD85 The journey is one of the downsides of living in Cornwall. Everywhere is a long way away.

EC went well but feeling very tender and sore. I filled up the hot water bottle in the hotel before we left so I'm in the car with my hot water bottle. Can't wait to get home for a nap.

13 collected which I'm so happy about after just 1 last time. Just have to wait now.

I actually do not remember the EC at all. I remember getting onto the bed and into the stirrups, having the monitors attached and the first drug being injected and then nothing until I woke up in recovery about an hour or so later!!

@CornishMaid1 well done you! That's brilliant news. Now to rest up. Take care of yourself x

Cauliflower82 aww we will be ec buddies as well maybe! Although I am not sure if anything is going on as I feel nothing.

I started burserelin on day 21 and had my period 10 days later. I am still spotting. Sorry if TMI but it's a bit brown and gunky but not enough for a tampon. Did anyone else get that? I am worried now that my lining won't be thick enough. It doesn't seem like it's going to stop anytime soon

Wanted to say congrats @Weenumpty :) love the positive stories as well as the support for this journey!

Spice girls was amazing and the parking /injection Situ was fine :) went for scan today at day5, they saw 13 all measuring between 8-12mm, nurse said it was about what was expected at 5 days and booked in again for weds to see how they are growing fx, I always feel like I don't ask enough but I never know what I want to ask !

@Welshpugmomma that sounds like a great crop you've got there, well done. Nearly there!

Me and the cutie (I can hear my mother's voice: 'the cutie and I') are off to Portugal this evening to meet said mother for a few days. Not too shabby a way to spend the first part of this tww!

I am still waiting for my period!! I am now 8-days late! Slightly annoying that I cannot commit to anything so I currently look very flakey at work!

I'm really struggling today (mentally) feel like I have the worse PMT and I have a few points today where I have wanted to shout or cry.

@CornishMaid1 congratulations, that’s a good number. I hope you’re taking it easy now with lots of naps and good food. Also I’m very happy to hear you don’t remember a thing - I’m praying to God that’s me.

@Zest11 the colouring was exactly the same towards the end for me too so I’m guessing it’s kind of normal if we’ve both experienced it. Mine is typically like that towards the end. Don’t worry about your lining thickening, I think that’s what the pessaries are for.

@Welshpugmomma ooh that's good numbers and you’re only on day 5 - fabulous. My clinic don’t scan until day 7 which frustrates me. I want to know what’s going on. I can clearly feel something today.

@helene2019 try to refrain from the test if you can. My friend got a positivecwith a blood test but still a negative on an otc test.

@Mrbay oh no, I’m so sorry you’re having a bad day :(. Have you been up to anything? Did they give you any indication as to when to expect period? Hope you’re okay. No words of advice. If it helps, I just indulge in the sadness for a while and then try and perk myself up. I remember once someone telling me to allow my feelings to come to the surface, not to suppress them but not to indulge them either. I’m not sure if it’s helpful but I TRY this. Try being the word.

@Mrbay I also don't really have any words for you when you're feeling glum but as usual @Cauliflower82 has put it beautifully. Indulge it but don't let it consume you. Sending positive thoughts x

I'm on first round of ICSI, due to EC on Wednesday and getting pretty apprehensive.
Very disappointed with follicle response so really great to hear @Weenumpty story. I am praying for 3 collected and hoping for 5.
Been on a short protocol and trigger tonight.
This whole process is scary, so lovely to have lovely ladies to share it with xx

• thank you! I think I was being a bit over dramatic earlier, bad PMT and pain but no bloody period! Oh and I spent a good tenner on junk food, so that made me happy!!

Nurses have told me to call a week today if still no sign of it.

@glitterbugsparkles - hi!! I'm also planning on doing ICIS at some point in the next few weeks if my body plays ball!

@glitterbugsparkles at the risk of having @Weenumpty punch me in the face (kidding, she doesn't know where I live. Although I guess she does know I'm going to Portugal), it only takes one. Especially if you're doing ICSI, that's all you need (hope I've got that right?) Courage and welcome to our group. You're among friends here x

Hi @glitterbugsparkles I am ICSI as well and had egg collection today so a couple of days ahead, although I was on long protocol. They do keep growing to fingers crossed for your collection.

I did my last fyremadel injection last night and have upped my oestrogen patches today. Scan tomorrow to check my lining, fi gets crossed all is good and we get a date for transfer!! Xx

I would love to say the wait after collection is relaxing but it isn't! I'm feeling a lot less sure today, but I've been up since 6 as I kept dreaming of missed the call from the clinic! I just need to know fertilisation numbers and I think I might then be able to relax. It's awful when it is out of your control.

Feeling happier now - the clinic just called. I'm glad they called early. 13 eggs collected, 11 mature (one matured whilst they were checking) and 5 fertilised. ET on Saturday. Just keeping fingers crossed they make it okay

@glitterbugsparkles good luck! @KittyKatSmile is right, it only takes 1! @KittyKatSmile I could do with a holiday and Portugal would be nice, I believe I'm looking for a gorgeous lady who produces cute embryos
I'm sorry I haven't really kept up, I'm too busy peeing on sticks it's my absolute favourite hobby seeing the line get darker daily. I really truly hope you all get there too, and am constantly thinking about you all. Will keep checking in now and then. Much love xx
