Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

@CornishMaid1 yay, that’s excellent news :). Good work.

People, I need advice. Day 5 of stimming and I’m SO uncomfortable and my stomach is making the weirdest gurgling noises. I am starting to worry and panic that I’m expanding so quickly. Anything touching my stomach hurts and I’m sore. I’m at work and part of me just thinks I need to go home and rest :(

I’m sorry I’ve not responded to everyone 😭

Hi @Cauliflower82 all I can say is I'm day 6 and don't feel too bad, I can tell there is a slight heaviness down there and sometimes the odd twinge but nothing to stop me going about my daily tasks. Oh tmi but I have been having more "bowel movements" than normally?!. If you are concerned you should call the clinic and hopefully they can offer you more advice , are you on a high dose of meds? Hope you feel better soon , sorry not much help x

BellaD85 · 18/06/2019 12:29

Hello Ladies!

Sorry I didn't get round to updating yesterday...I was well and truly off my face and absolutely shattered!! They ended up having to give me a double dose of sedative because muppet here was still wide awake and could feel absolutely EVERYTHING (horror!!) safe to say the second lot did the trick however still didn't actually knock me out...just made me strange haha!! I came out slumped in a wheelchair asking the nurses and my husband if I was a Turtle (so embarrassing) told my husband we have a very important party to attend and would he be my date and also mumbled a lot about small monkeys eating bread rolls....WTF!!??

Anyhoo still sore and crazy bloated but feeling much better today. They managed to get 5!!! We were thrilled as last Wed I only had 2 and I got a call from the Embryologist this morning to say that all 5 were excellent quality and all fertilised!!! I nearly fell over with shock!! We are so, happy!! ET on Saturday so fingers crossed they all make it to Saturday and then into the freezer!

Off to make myself look human again this afternoon, nails back on and my dodgy self done "Balyage" that went wrong with the hairdresser tonight :-) back at work tomorrow, hoping the next few days will fly by and then onto the TTW!

BellaD85 · 18/06/2019 12:39

@CornishMaid1 Woohoo well done on your haul!! Was thinking about you yesterday (pre-off my face) Have you had your call from the Embryologist yet? Hope all is well x

@Cauliflower82 so sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish and bloated. I still am...try wearing some loose style clothing. I also kept up with Paracetamol, protein by the boat load and loads of salt and water. I too think you should call your clinic if you still feel rubbish.

@Welshpugmomma So glad to hear that Spice Girls was good and the injection in the car was ok :-)

@KittyKatSmile have a fab time in Portugal!! Couldn't think of a better way for you and your cutie to start the TTW :-)

@Helene2019 Do an early test if it feels right for you just try not to worry too much if it doesn't have a conclusive result. Friday is just around the corner :-)

@Zest11 I spotted for quite a few days after my tablets period ended and started my injections. Have they got you booked in for your baseline scan?

RRoonilWazlib · 18/06/2019 13:23

Eugh, a but disappointed with my scan today! My lining is only 5.something so not thick enough! I've now got to have 6x progynova tablets daily as well as carrying on with the evorel patches! Rescanning on friday so fingers crossed for a thicker lining then!! Xxx

Mrbay · 18/06/2019 13:51

@CornishMaid1 & @BellaD85 - amazing numbers as well, you both must be very happy with that.

@Cauliflower82 - I can't help you with your question, as of course by body isn't playing ball LOL! oh and don't worry about replying to everyone, we do understand that it is pretty hard to keep on top of what is becoming a very positive thread!

@RRoonilWazlib - sorry to hear about your lining - I hope the drugs aren't playing you up!

Oh and if anyone has seen my period, holla! Current MIA for the past 9-days! For 3-years its be regular, so regular that I've never so much had the hint of pregnancy and now it is just taking the piss!

on a more personal note, has anyone else gone off sex at the moment??

RRoonilWazlib · 18/06/2019 14:50

Thanks @Mrbay. I took 3 while I was at the clinic so I could get the full dose in today and I feel headachey already. Hoping it's just a headache and not a side effect Sad

Helene2019 · 18/06/2019 16:29

@BellaD85 and @CornishMaid1 great news you two!

@Cauliflower82 I had tenderness to touch my belly and also an aching internal pain particularly when walking and also pushing on my bladder and bowel. I think it is a sign things are growing. A hot water bottle and that helped a lot. When is your scan to see how things are growing?

I caved and tested this morning - came up white as snow, not even the hint of a line. I'm hoping I'm just still too early to test and I will prob test again on Thursday.

Zest11 · 18/06/2019 16:30

Excellent @CornishMaid1and @BellaD85 it sounds like things have gone really well for you both. And Bella - that is HILARIOUS about what you were aaying afterwards. I did have my baseline scan and that was fine. I guess I will have to wait to my next scan although it has slowed down.

Cauliflower82 I am sorry to hear of your discomfort. I think you have a scan tomorrow so it would be worth asking then. But yes, if you really feel that bad, take it easy. I think I am around the same as you but don't feel anything. Maybe a bit bloated and the very slight twinge but that could also be me hoping! Also, I thought of you and your thigh complaints and tried the stomach...not good for me, I have THE purpleist bruise!

@RRoonilWazlib sorry you didn't get the news you wantes. Hope all the extra things don't make you feel too unwell

Cauliflower82 · 18/06/2019 17:16

@Welshpugmomma thank you 🙏. I’m having those issues too regarding your tmi. I’m feeling a little better now I’m hope and out of my work clothes. I had no idea how tight fitting all my clothes are - nothing is flowy or free fitting. It’s all skin tight - I don’t know what that says about my dress sense 😂.

@BellaD85 that’s absolutely amazing news - excellent! I’m going to consume more eggs and salmon for tea. The joys.

@RRoonilWazlib keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for you

@Mrbay sex? I’ve pretty much forgotten what that is 😂

@Helene2019 thank you for the tip :). Did you feel like things were moving down there? Probably too vague a question. It’s still too early to test so please don’t think it’s over. My friend got a positive blood test the day her otc test was still stark white.

@zest11 scan on Thursday so I guess it’s pretty close. What do you find good about the thigh? I’m conscious I may not have given it my best shot.

Thank you for all the lovely kind words everyone :). I’m a bit better now I’m home and in bed wearing absolutely nothing 😂

OP posts:
Helene2019 · 18/06/2019 17:32

@Cauliflower82 yes I could feel things move a little. The only way I can describe it is it felt like I was carrying a bunch of grapes on each side - everytime I walked, I swear I could feel them jiggle a little (and that caused an aching twingey sort of pain). I found I couldn't sleep on my side and It did got noticeably worse the last few days before EC due to number and size I guess. I found wearing a high-waist/tummy control type pair of tights helped as it sort of supported my belly a bit. Full disclosure - I have a jiggly belly too so that prob just made the feeling worse!

mouse1234567 · 18/06/2019 18:27

@CornishMaid1 @BellaD85 so pleased to hear about your eggs /fertalisation. I hope the next few days pass quick for you-it’s a tough time.

@RRoonilWazlib so sorry re your lining -that must have been frustrating -with any luck though the higher dose will sort it right out!

@Helene2019 sorry to hear about the test. It could def still be too early-how many days post are you? It’s incredibly hard to resist.

@Cauliflower82 I hope the discomfort improves. What our bodies go through! The bloat gets so tough.

mouse1234567 · 18/06/2019 18:32

@Weenumpty glad the tests are getting darker. Often I keep wanting to test and have been but it’s a love/hate relationship and also gives me such anxiety and in some ways I need to step away. Had 3 days off and then I did it again this morning.

I’m getting on ok -but now I’m on 3 pessaries a day -tmi but it makes me so gassy by the end of my work day -have to race home -it’s so gross . And my stomach looks so bloody and bruising from these horrendous blood thinner and twice daily progesterone injections! Gross!

Tests still coming up positive and haven’t been for any more blood tests -can’t decide if I want to and if there’s is any point or not. OTD Thursday. But I think the real wait for me will be the viability scan-I just imagine it’s will measure too small.

Weenumpty · 18/06/2019 19:47

@mouse1234567 I'm so sorry to hear how stressful this must be for you, I don't blame you for keeping testing, I keep telling myself to stop and my partner does too but I just can't. Don't get me wrong I'm over the moon to be where I am and honestly never thought it would happen but I hadn't expected the level of stress and anxiety that comes with a positive! You just think you'll be walking on air and that's it (at least I did) I am hoping with everything I have that it stays positive for you and it's sounding good. 2more sleeps until OTD- you can do it! And I really feel for you being on so many meds, I'm lucky I'm just on the pessaries and they're bad enough so must be tough for you. I've had a really gassy tummy too and was having a lot of upset tummies to begin with but mainly just gas now and sooo bloated I already look pregnant- definitely the pessaries, do you get that too? just retreated to bed because I'm having awful cramps and can't settle from pain and worry. Jeez, I keep saying it but what a rollercoaster this is. Thinking of you and wishing you the best x

KittyKatSmile · 18/06/2019 20:02

@Weenumpty @mouse1234567 I know I bang on about them all the time but the girls on the BFN podcast talk about what you're going through quite a lot and the huge fear and anxiety that comes after a positive test. We focus so much on getting pregnant as if that's the goal but actually having the baby in your arms is the real goal.

I'm so happy for you both, and feel so sad that this is tinged with anything. It's so miserable that we've done so much to get here that we can't just enjoy it when we arrive. Thinking of you both.

@mouse1234567 are you on clexane? I hate it with such passion.... almost threw up all over my mum last night when doing it. I'm so much better on my own!!

Cauliflower82 · 18/06/2019 21:00

@Weenumpty @mouse1234567 I’m just pretty much going to echo what others have said. I can completely understand the anxiety surrounding a positive. We’ve all worked incredibly hard and invested so much, it’s only natural to worry and stress. I remember reading that those who have had assisted conception are more likely to suffer from postnatal depression and I can completely see why. Obviously a baby is what we all want and that’s why the whole process will come with its own worries.

@Helene2019 great tips. I’ll try the tights tomorrow as I’m constantly walking around holding my stomach up.

OP posts:
Zest11 · 18/06/2019 22:16

Cauliflower82 I just find that there's more to grab on the thigh and it doesn't feel quite so sensitive. I grab a big chunk and just go for it! All being well we have less than 7 days left of jabbing hopefully!!

Weenumpty I'm glad the tests are getting darker, that most be so exciting. Fingers crossed for you!!

mouse1234567 glad everything is still positive. I guess if you do a CB digital in the next few days to week it may go up to 2-3 instead of the 1-2 and then a few weeks after that it may be 3+? That may give you some reassurance before the viability scan :) I hope so anyway!

Helen2019 hang on in there - you're still early! Best of luck to you!

KittyKatSmile how is your Portugal break going? Have you and the cutie been doing anything nice?

Update from me...the no side effects of the stimms are now over. My stomach has ballooned and my ovaries are a bit sore if I touch them. Sorry if TMI but I also have more ewcm...as if I am about to ovulate and to be fair, if this was a normal cycle, the next few days would be about the right time. Is it stupid for me to be worried I'm going to ovulate despite the buserelin? Hmm

Cauliflower82 · 19/06/2019 06:09

@Zest11 whoa we truly are in sync at the moment. I have the ewcm too and I terrified I would ovulate early too. However, my clinic, after talking yesterday, reassured me the ewcm is only a sign the drugs are working and that we have more oestrogen in our bodies, so it’s a good thing :). We are so going to get through this together. How is working going? I am knackered from it.

Weenumpty · 19/06/2019 07:09

@KittyKatSmile thanks for being so understanding and I must listen to the podcasts, keep meaning to! @Cauliflower82 thanks for the reassurance and @zest thanks aswell it is reassuring to see the lines going darker and it's a reassurance I can't live without just now! Another sleepless night and struggling with work due to it 😴 roll on 5thr July for early scan and start of summer holidays.
Good luck to everyone going through their different stages x

Weenumpty · 19/06/2019 07:25

That message doesn't read back well, extreme overuse of reassurance 🤣🙊 sorry, very very tired brain!!

Becsharry · 19/06/2019 09:30

Any tips on what to do after embryo transfer? I had mine yesterday, took a lot longer than I thought as my uterus is backwards so was pretty uncomfortable 😣 now for the dreaded tww. X

KittyKatSmile · 19/06/2019 10:56

@Zest11 trip is going well so far, torrential rain so it was just like being at home really. My mum is being lovely and not letting me carry my bag onto trains (I don't think that really counts as heavy lifting but it's very sweet).

@Weenumpty I meant to say yesterday that I laughed out loud at your Miss Marple post. I'll buy you a non-alcoholic super bock if you manage to find me (after you've punched me, I suppose Grin)

Much love ladies x

Zest11 · 19/06/2019 12:18

We are indeed @Cauliflower82! Have you heard how women who spend so much time together somehow have their periods synced? Is the same for forum posts and IVF? Grin Thanks for those comments - I am looking forward to my scan tomorrow so hopefully they can let me know what's going on. I am absolutely knackered from work too. I'm actually looking forward to EC so I can have a nice sleep!! Are you able to take much time off after EC or during the TWW?

@KittyKatSmile I am glad you are having a nice time although that is just wrong about the weather! It's Portugal and June! It should be nice and hot!! It does sound however you don't have to lift a finger. :) when do you have to come back to reality?

Mrbay · 19/06/2019 12:39

Hey ladies!

@Cauliflower82 - glad I am not the only one who isn't doing the in your pants dance! Poor DH, but I'm already having a daily prick so I don't require more!

@Weenumpty and @mouse1234567 - I have everything crossed for you both and am very excited as well.

My period has finally arrived!! Yay! Lining scan booked for Monday. and if goes well I have the joys of stimms to come the following Friday. I have it in my head that this is the trial round so I am not expecting much, low AMH so as sad as it is, I am just exciting to move to each bit but have low hops of it working. I believe that is because I am extremely lucky to have 3 cycles funded so not everything is pinned on this 1st one.

Also, has anyone else had to break the news that you have started IVF, to a couple that IVF sadly didn't work? I am meeting family at the weekend and feel bad that others know but they don't but I don't want to appear insensitive to the couple as I know how bloody hard it is when others have baby joy and you are there wondering why your body can't just do it too.
