Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

Good luck to all the ladies with big days today! @Helene2019 fingers crossed for a great transfer! @KittyKatSmile good luck for EC, you'll be grand and hopefully it'll pass by in a lovely sleep. @Cauliflower82 Hope the scan goes really well today, and the injection fears die down. You can do it! Once the stimming begins, it goes much more quickly I found.

@DawnK77 I'm on a freeze all. Our clinic said we had to wait for a withdrawal bleed, then wait one full cycle for drugs to be out the system, and then start prepping for the frozen transfer after the next cycle day 1. Does that make sense? It's not so long, and better for your health, so hopefully that will make a successful pregnancy more likely.

mincedpea · 12/06/2019 09:08

Sorry if I missed anyone off the good luck list, hope everyone is doing well!

@DawnK77 I asked about how long to wait between EC and FET on this older post
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3592388-how-long-between-EC-and-FET-in-a-freeze-all-cycle

DawnK77 · 12/06/2019 09:20

Thanks for that Mincedpea! I've just had a read through it. I'm a bit worried about the natural cycle mention, as natural periods are very rare for me. The clinic is ringing this morning with today's egg update so I think I'll ask them a few questions. Did they put you on tablets for the OHSS? I'm on some, I'm still pretty bloated today, laying down is quite uncomfy I think that's cause the ovarys are stretched out? Who knows lol!

Good luck to everyone today with their scans and egg collections! Hope all go well 💖 xxxxx

CornishMaid1 · 12/06/2019 13:48

@DawnK77 Hope you are doing okay.

@Helene2019 Good luck with the transfer.

@Cauliflower82 I hope your scan goes okay today.

For anyone else with scans, EC or ET today that I have missed, good luck.

I had my day 7 scan today and I am doing well and actually ahead, so I have to drop my stim dose down a bit. I have 5 that are actually big enough for a collection now, so I'm a lower dose, another scan on Friday and it looks as though my EC will be moved forward from next Wednesday to Monday.

Feeling very excited now as I have responded a lot better than last time. I just have to get through the EC with some eggs collected and I will feel better.

I can definitely feel them growing this time as my right ovary is giving me some growing pains and I feel absolutely shattered and in need of a nap (not sure I can get away with that at work).

As I am at risk of OHSS (I have 23 follicles growing that they could measure today) I have been told plenty of protein and at least 2 litres of water a day to try and stave it off. Just thought I would pass it on in case it helps others.

Ginandtonic31 · 12/06/2019 14:27

@CornishMaid1 I definitely think water helps. I was trying to drink 2-3 litres every day and I had 27 eggs (from around 30 follicles) and never showed signs of OHSS

Zest11 · 12/06/2019 14:28

Hope today went well Helen2019, KittyKatSmile and Cauliflower82
Glad things are progressing well CornishMaid1

I got the good news today that I can start stimming. Glad it goes quicker now mincedpea
Really unsure how I am going to respond to this as amh is low for my age. Definitely not going to be getting the numbers many of you all have. My clinic said it's unlikely for me to get OHSS and they hope to collect 8-10 so will have to see!

KittyKatSmile · 12/06/2019 14:35

@Zest11 great to hear you can now start stimming. Agree with @mincedpea that it goes more quickly now. 8-10 is not a bad number. And of course, it only takes 1

@Cauliflower82 hope this morning went well.

@Helene2019 hope you've now got a little something on board.

@CornishMaid1 Monday will be here before you know it. Great news.

EC done. Had lunch with a friend and now on my way home to chill on the sofa.

Spongebob79 · 12/06/2019 15:16

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok @CornishMaid1what a great number of follicles, hope the rest of stims goes well. @KittyKatSmile wow lunch after ec you’re a trooper, I think last time is sat in the car a slept all the wa6 home.
@Cauliflower82 hope your scan went well today and @Zest11 glad you can start stims.

It’s OTD tomorrow for me, have to go for a blood test early and then wait for a phone call which they say might not be until late afternoon 😟! I’m probably 95% sure it’s a negative I’ve just had no symptoms whatsoever not even the usual progesterone ones, all quite odd. Not sure what we’ll do after that. This is round 6 for me (4 fresh Oe, 1 fet and now 1de) for some reason I hoped the de would be our miracle but I’m pretty sure it’s not. In fact I seemed to have better quality with my own eggs, just very few. Maybe it’s time start thinking of life without having a baby.

Spongebob79 · 12/06/2019 15:17

Sorry for the typos trying to type with sleeping pup on one hand!

Mrbay · 12/06/2019 17:18

I love reading through this thread!

It getting very close for most of us now.

@Cauliflower82 - I have so much needle fear now and my baseline scan has been pushed back to next Wednesday now - annoying but means I can crack on a little bit with the horse before I'm on an enforced no thrill riding only by DH and my horsey friends!

When I started this process, I didn't think to ask if my period would be delayed and what this would mean.

A bit fed up of checking my planned dates to see if it clashes with a work or social thing!

mouse1234567 · 12/06/2019 17:19

@CornishMaid1 great news your scan went well. They told me about lots of protein for OHSS-I thought that was interesting -I wonder why?!

@Zest11 great news you can start stimming-8-10 eggs is great. My friend had lower AMH and got few eggs but got pregnant first time so stay positive. She never expected to respond so well to drugs.

@KittyKatSmile well done with EC -rest up -it’s exhausting.

@SpongeBob79 good luck for tomorrow. Sorry to hear the quality hasn’t been what you expected from a donor. Would you look into finding a different donor if this one didn’t work out? I appreciate that is probably a lot harder than it sounds tho -and I do not know about DE. It must all be a very hard process. Best of luck.

mouse1234567 · 12/06/2019 17:22

I had some good news yesterday-DH very cross with me yesterday’s way to early but I got up at 5dp5dt and got a very ambiguous faint line on a clear blue early detection. In the evening I did a clear blue week counter one and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. Also did a FRER this morn which showed a good line. OTD is not till a week tomo so certainly not counting my chickens yet. Will try and hold off till the weekend to test again and hope to see progress. Thanks for all your support. I wish everyone of you all the best.

Weenumpty · 12/06/2019 17:37

@mouse1234567 amazing news! Fingers crossed for you

@KittyKatSmile glad collection went well, I'm shocked you managed lunch after- welldone!

@Cauliflower82 hope your scan went well

@Spongebob79 good luck for OTD tomorrow, I'm keeping everything crossed for you. I really hope you don't have to wait until the afternoon! My clinic just sent me away with a urine test and said do it on OTD and call in with result- again so different in each place.

Sorry to people I've missed, still trying to catch up a bit after avoiding for a while. Hope everyone is ok. My OTD is Saturday and still really struggling with the wait!

KittyKatSmile · 12/06/2019 18:36

@mouse1234567 eeeeee! I'm not counting any chickens (small mice) before they're hatched but amazing news!

@Spongebob79. Well done on waiting. I'm sure they are telling you late afternoon just to manage your expectations but surely it will be in around 3 hours. Fingers crossed for you. I don't think a lack of symptoms means much when we're all pumped full of so many drugs. Thinking of you (and glad you have pup with you)

@Weenumpty You are so close, hang on in there. You're doing so well.

I came home, looking forward to catching up on loads of tv and fell asleep 5mns into the new Handmaid's Tale in what turned into a 3 hour nap. I'll probably have given myself jet lag now and won't be able to sleep tonight!

I'm going to a fertility seminar tomorrow night with a friend and have told her that I want wine and rare steak afterwards Smile

Helene2019 · 12/06/2019 18:47

@KittyKatSmile I couldn't co-ordinate myself to walk after EC (due to the sedatives!), I deffo wouldn't have managed lunch. Glad it went well for you.

@DawnK77 I second the water water water - I hope you are slowly getting more comfortable.

@mouse1234567 @Spongebob79 @Weenumpty so many of you having your tests this week. Wishing you all the best.

I have one blastocyst transferred today, one is being left to grow till tomorrow to see if it can get up to a good enough quality to freeze. My other symptoms are easing up - still bloated though! Blood test at the clinic next Friday. Now the wait begins....

Cauliflower82 · 12/06/2019 20:16

Hi everyone, today went well and I can start stimming tomorrow :). Very happy about this. I’m going to have to catch up on all the posts tomorrow. I’ve just got home from work and I’m so shattered.

@KittyKatSmile I knew you were a total trooper! A meal out after egg collection - you’re my hero 🦸‍♀️.

@Zest11 great news! I start tomorrow night and my first scan is a week tomorrow too. I’m feeling proper emotionally vulnerable today. I have no idea what’s hit me but I can’t wait for this to be over. Hope your first stim goes well #stimmingbuddies

KittyKatSmile · 12/06/2019 20:54

@Cauliflower82 hooray, so happy for you. It's all really overwhelming but you now know you're almost there. It goes really quickly once you are stimming. Hooray. Lots of love (from your hero Hmm) I am now feeling really bloated and uncomfortable. Time for bed soon after my 3 hours of naps this afternoon. Hoping for a more productive day (off work) tomorrow!

mincedpea · 12/06/2019 22:00

@mouse1234567 Great news! Early days but fingers crossed for OTD!

@Spongebob79 good luck for tomorrow, sending positive thoughts. Impressed with your ability to wait to test!

@DawnK77 How are you feeling now? They didn't give me any tablets but I didn't actually get OHSS, they just thought I'd be at risk so decided in advance to do a freeze all. What are the tablets? Keep a close eye on your symptoms - particularly the size of your waist line and also your weight over the next few days. If you're in lots of pain or find you're getting lots larger all of a sudden, it could be a sign that OHSS is getting worse. I'm not a medical doctor but I wouldn't hesitate to encourage you to call your clinic if you're feeling bad - much better to get their help than worry on your own.

@KittyKatSmile Great work on the EC and the lunch too! I was straight home and in bed, so very impressed by that. Fingers crossed for a good lot of embryos tomorrow.

@Cauliflower82 Hurrah for stimming! Let jabfest stage 2 commence!

Hope everyone else is also doing OK.

Zest11 · 12/06/2019 22:11

Oh Spongebob79 best of luck for tomorrow. Fingers crossed it is happening for you. No rush to make any decisions though - do what you feel is right. I picked up a book at the waiting room today called IVF diaries... how I beat the odds or something like that and I flicked through. There was a happy ending but 2/3rds of the way through the chapter said "8th IVF attempt!" So I guess it took more than that as there was still a good chunk of book left!

KittyKatSmile you sound insane! I had a GA once and was completely knocked out of it. I vaguely recollect a delirious wonder around the supermarket with my husband, clutching onto him. The 3 hour nap sounds like heaven though!

mouse1234567 eeek, I hope it carries on that way! Will be quietly optimistic for you! Thank you for your positivity regarding egg numbers and your friend - it's good to know. I know 8 to 10 is okay - will just have to see what happens. As we only get 1 NHS round I would have loved a few for the freezer as that would just reduce my anxiety massively and would give me the reassurance of a few goes! The cost to use those would be nothing in comparison to the fresh cycles.

Yay Cauliflower82 stimming buddies, so glad you got the go ahead too. Apparently this bit goes quickly so it won't be long until it's over. I start on Friday and my next scan is a week tomorrow too! We can remind each other...not that either of us are likely to forget! Grin

On a separate issue, I have had 3 failed IUIs and sometimes it was difficult for them to get through or into my cervix. Consequently we attempted a mock transfer today and the decision was made to dilate my cervix in preparation for ET when I am having EC. Does anyone know anything about this? Apparently my cervix is "tight" Confused...

Welshpugmomma · 13/06/2019 08:48

Hi ladies, just been catching up with
The posts, hope every one is doing OK looks like lots happening!

Good luck to those hanging in for the tww now @Helene2019 @Weenumpty @KittyKatSmile and anyone else missed

@DawnK77 hope everything OK with follicles, any news on whether you'll have to do freeze all?

@spongebob79 good luck today for you - - the amount of symptom spotting over the last few years, and never had a positive! Could be a good sign! @mouse1234567 hope you're line stays!

@Ginandtonic31 how are you doing, any news on the counselling front? I think every ones comments about trusting your decision to start the journey is true, just try and remember that every time you doubt, its just surreal the fact we have to plan every single timed step and if it wasn't for the process it would have just happened and you would have dealt with the news! How was rocketman, I loved it!

@Zest11@Cauliflower82 #stimmingbuddies I went for my first baseline on Mon but wasnt good as lining too thick/poss polyp queue panic went back yest and all clear phew, so started stim yest! Had a little breakdown about the extra needle but managed to do both in the end! At least you this I feel is the proactive bit now! I have a scan on Mon again rush for ohss relatively high amh so keeping an eye on that!

Sad news my dh leaves tomorrow morning and I'll be left to carry on this journey by myself now for a few months, I'll be on here more than ever!

KittyKatSmile · 13/06/2019 09:59

@Welshpugmomma you are of course not on your own; you've got this motley band of sisters

Just had the call from the embryologist. I had been terrified for this call but in the event hadn't really got up properly yet so was still dozing. I had a number in my head that I realistically wanted to fertilise (2 things here: I'm an accountant so I've been going over numbers in my head for weeks now and also, I'm not going to say what the numbers are because I'm superstitious about that but @Zest11 I am in a similar range to you (and delighted about that!)) and the number was almost double. I am beyond relieved. I just want to get one that I can put back in, which has not always been guaranteed. Of course, it still isn't, but I feel like I've cleared the largest hurdle...

Sorry for the ramble. So much going on in here today. Hope the stimming buddies are going well and @Spongebob79 fingers firmly crossed for you lovely xx

CornishMaid1 · 13/06/2019 10:08

@Zest11 8-10 would be a good number. It is great you can start stims and good luck. It will go quickly from now. I can't give any advice on the dilation as I don't know anything about that and haven't heard it mentioned.

@KittyKatSmile Glad your EC went well and I hope you get good news from the clinic today.

@Spongebob79 Good luck with the test today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@Helene2019 Congrats on the transfer and fingers crossed for you.

@Cauliflower82 Good news that you can start your stims.

@Welshpugmomma Sorry you will be on your own, but we are all here for you

@mouse1234567 That is great early news and fingers crossed for OTD

CornishMaid1 · 13/06/2019 10:10

@KittyKatSmile Just saw your update and that is great news. The wait to hear how many you have is the worst bit so you have a positive start.

DawnK77 · 13/06/2019 11:08

Morning all!

Sorry didn't reply yesterday, I wasn't feeling well at all!

Kitty you have my full respect lunch after EC, go girl!!! How are you now?

Glad you two can start stunning together zest & cauliflower!

Great news mouse, fingers crossed for you! Xx

Good luck today SpongeBob!

Helene how are you today?

I'm still waiting for this morning's call from the clinic about how the embryos are getting on. I'm definitely feeling tomorrow will be freeze all, I am still so uncomfortable. Am downing all liquid I can, just can't wait for the bloating to go away!

Sorry if I've missed anyone, and thanks everyone you are all do lovely and informative! Xxx

Spongebob79 · 13/06/2019 11:47

Thanks everyone, my bloods have been sent for testing and I will hear back later this afternoon. Not feeling very hopeful but we’ll see.
