Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

Hi ladies, I've been creeping for a little while wasn't sure when to post as seems your all a little further down the line than myself :) I'm 29 ttc number 1, mfi so advised ICSI. It's all been pretty fast - we've gone private knowing we would be emigrating to the USA soon so was keen to get started.

Anyhow,I wanted to ask you ladies for some help with the injections I started treatment on 26/5, long protocol. I'm petrified of needles and I spend all day dreading it. My mums a nurse and we're living with rents atm so she's been able to do them every night (amazing) but I'm away for two nights coming up and I'm panicking so much, I managed to get the needle in last week but couldn't press down on the injection and had to call her up to finish it. I'm such a wuss and it really hurts too even though everyone says they get better! Please cheer me up! Sorry for the looking post.

Fx for everyone waiting, and thoughts are with those going through difficult times xx

KittyKatSmile · 03/06/2019 22:56

@Welshpugmomma welcome. A few tips that I've read from people on here: inject at a 45 degree angle and also put some ice on your skin before going in. Actually @Cauliflower82 is the expert (according to her nurse!) - maybe she can give you some more tips. I find sometimes the first time I try to go in that it hurts so I pick another spot and it's usually fine.

@Cauliflower82 sorry to hear you're feeling glum. I'm sure Love Island will cheer you up tomorrow; it was as shit as predicted Wink

I took a 'wellness day' from work today and went to the seaside with my best friend. Got a new jigsaw and a take a break with some prizes to enter. Got lots of knitting done. Don't really want to go back to work/life tomorrow...!

Ginandtonic31 · 03/06/2019 23:52

Oooo @KittyKatSmile a wellness day sounds amazing! Lucky to get annual leave where I work (nhs) 😂

@Welshpugmomma welcome. I think once you've done one it becomes a habit! My Buserelin ones hurt a bit at the moment.

@Zest11 That's the Jane Fallon one I downloaded a few weeks ago. Can't bring myself to start it yet though. Wondering whether to do the other one first that's the mumsnet book of the month. On my first round last June I was always reading a book and the nurse used to ask me every appointment what I was reading 😂

@Booksandstuff congratulations! I have to go in for a blood test too and I can't decide if to wait and go for the test or test at home first just to prepare myself.

Booksandstuff · 04/06/2019 04:23

@Ginandtonic31 I debated about testing at home for ages but in the end was too nervous about getting a false positive. I wanted to know the HCG was decent. But then I understand why some choose to test before!
Best of luck and everything crossed for you🤞

So, a rough waffly idea of the rambling of my mind during the 2ww. Cramping during the night- must be implantation, but would that be too early after 2day transfer hmmm what does dr google say... ooh implantation calendar says it could be today or tomorrow- must be pregnant! But I’m not bleeding so can’t be. But I might be. Partner gets into bed, cuddles feel nice, hmm what does dr google think about sex?? (It’s been a long time!) Oh, I’ve spent half an hour reading conflicting advice and now he’s snoring, maybe not. And anyway I hate him. As I told him last night all he’s had to do is wank in a cup and it’s not fair. Ouch, cramps again, must just be tender still and endo playing up, but no, obviously it’s because I’m pregnant. Boobs are too sore to get comfy, must be the progesterone, or I’m pregnant. Need to pee. Now im hungry at 2am, must be the embryo. No!!! Just hormones. Hmmm, I’ll just have a wee google. Nope, highly unlikely embryo is hungry. Damn. Ok must sleep.... 5 mins later fucking alarm fuck off, and crystal82 you can fuck off too.

Weenumpty · 04/06/2019 08:02

Sorry for that I am actually going crazy and it's day 4Confused and sorry I haven't even read about how others are getting on, I will catch up and post sensibly later!

KittyKatSmile · 04/06/2019 09:03

@Weenumpty I think the main takeaway is that it's probably Crystal82's fault.

I am kidding myself I'm looking forward to TWW because at least I'm not messed up on drugs. Then I realised I'll actually still be messed up, just on different drugs. (Actually emailed my clinic to ask when I was supposed to start other drugs as they weren't on my protocol. They pointed out I had to turn the page over. Winning. Good job I don't have a job where I'm meant to be detail focussed. Oh wait....)

CornishMaid1 · 04/06/2019 09:22

@Weenumpty I can feel the pain and I agree it is all Crystal82's fault.

@Welshpugmomma Are you downregging from day 2 or day 21? If from day 21 you are only a few days behind me.

My mum did most of my injections during my first cycle, but we had to go away for a couple of nights and I had to do some myself and was so worried. The first time is the worst and I have done all of them myself on this cycle and you end up just getting on with it. Once you do it once you will be okay. If the needle is hard going in pick a different spot (I alternate sides each night) and I take my time with the plunger - breathe in, breathe out and press, stop pressing, breathe in, breathe out and press. I find it keeps me calmer.

For anyone who has been on buserelin, I am on a slightly higher dose this time around, but I am boiling hot all the time. Is anyone else feeling like they are on one massive two week long hot flush?

mincedpea · 04/06/2019 09:37

@Booksandstuff Wonderful news! So pleased for you, I hope you're feeling good today Smile

@Weenumpty That's one of the most hilarious posts I've read! Definitely Crystal82's fault.

@Zest11 I'm trying to persuade my other half to let me get another pet if this IVF cycle doesn't work out. Obviously I'd rather have a baby, but a second cat or dog even some hens would be a good distraction if things go pear-shaped.

@Applecart11, @CornishMaid1, @Welshpugmomma welcome to you all Smile On the injections front, my tip would be to go slow when you push down the syringe, I think it hurt more when we injected too quickly.

Love that there are so many teachers on here - I used to be secondary maths, and am often tempted to go back but to primary.

Ginandtonic31 · 04/06/2019 11:09

@CornishMaid1 what dose are you on? I've been quite hit and sweaty but people at work have too so I assumed it was the weather as it has been quite warm!

Just been for a scan after 2 weeks of Buserelin and all fine so start oestrogen tablets tonight and continue the Buserelin.

Would love it if Crystal82 rocked up on here.

Mrbay · 04/06/2019 11:23

Can I just say congrats @booksandstuff

@littleone3 - everything crossed for you!

Thirdly, I HATE buserelin, only day 2 and I am raging already!! This is going to be a fund few weeks!
I already feel like I'm getting period pains and of course I'm not allowed to take my normal painkillers.
The tears have started! Nearly burst out in tears in the middle of a meeting with the CEO for absolutely no reason!
Luckily my manager is aware so I'm trying to avoid people but that is pretty hard in my role.
On another note, I need snack ideas! I'm so hungry!
Also, did anyone get constipated with bureselin? If yes, what did you take?

Cauliflower82 · 04/06/2019 11:43

@welshpugmomma
I seem to be getting a bit of a rep now for my injection technique 😂

So, I don’t use ice or anything but I would try it if I was in pain.

I always use my stomach, below the belly button. Pick a bit of skin and push the needle in at about 45 degrees. I’ve never tried 90 but the thought terrifies me. If I falter at all, it does sting so I now just keep persevering and stab that needle in. Next, I squeeze the liquid in ever so slowly - slowly is crucial for no pain. That’s my technique really. And then I wat masses of chocolate and bitch about crystal82 with my dog.

We are totally the best thread ever, trolling someone who doesn't even exist (she doesn't exist does she?! Or does she if she's in our minds?!)

@Mrbay Recommend little boxes of nuts, make sure you include Brazil nuts of course!

I didn't get constipated with buserelin but I did last time I was briefly pregnant (gah!) and used syrup of figs. It's basically sugar syrup and tastes quite delicious and gets things moving. Good luck!

CornishMaid1 · 04/06/2019 14:21

@ginandtonic31 I am on 0.5 (50) of buserelin. Last time I was on 0.3, so not a huge amount more. I know it has been warm, but I do not remember being this hot last time! I'm living in vest tops and sleeveless tops for work - I keep trying one with some sleeve, but I get too hot and have to change again.

Ginandtonic31 · 04/06/2019 14:37

I'm on 0.5 but I haven't noticed much. I've been feeling down before the injections anyway so can't blame them for that. I've been hot but now it's cooler I'm back to being cold again. I can't say I've been raging or anything either. I've cried a lot but I did the week before too!

Ginandtonic31 · 04/06/2019 14:39

This is crystal82 btw www.modelmayhem.com/1208406

Welshpugmomma · 04/06/2019 16:16

Hey,
Thanks @kittykatsmile @cauliflower82 @ginandtonic31 for the tips going to try the ice next and have just been doing the 90degree so maybe that will help, I just get myself into such a state before and then I'm shaking.!

@cornishmaid1 yes from day 21, got my baseline scan booked for the 10/6, just want to fastforward the next 2 months all being well! That's good if we're at similar timings :)

Can't say I've been feeling any different otherwise, af due today but still no sign yet.

@weennumptt I hope you managed a nannanap today, sounds like you had a busy night!

KittyKatSmile · 04/06/2019 16:17

At least she doesn't do nudes. Also, I may be fired as I just looked at Crystal on my work phone Blush

Zest11 · 04/06/2019 16:46

mouse1234567 glad your head was okay. I have found that since being open (as much as I really didn't want to) I have not had anything but support which has eased the pressure. No one else knows though and I i tend to keep it that way.

Ginandtonic31 it's a very very easy read so actually quite good if you cba to pick up a book if that makes sense!

mincedpea I hope there is no need. Hopefully you will get both?? Grin My husband made a flippant comment a couple of years ago and said "if we can't have kids in 5 years, you can get a dog." I keep reminding him of this and he is definitely regretting saying it!

Welshpugmomma1 welcome. Think we are similar dates too as my baseline is 12/6. Glad there are a few others with similar dates to me too now and cornishmaid1 I am finding cauliflower82 so helpful as she is 1 week ahead of us!

Not sure if I have got any side effects from the burserelin...perhaps tiredness and hunger? Did anyone else get really hungry or might it be because my 'period' is due and it may have emphasised the PMS...? I might just be being greedy and feeling sorry for myself though!

Nordicmom · 04/06/2019 17:54

10 dp2dt here sick as hell and I haven’t eaten since mid morning because then I feel even worse. Food shopping and putting it away was a nightmare ... still negatives except imaginary shadows in my head . 100% convinced it hasn’t worked and just the f ... progesterone making me ill I can’t wait to come off it !!!! None of the other drugs have effected me so badly but I’ve always had horrendous mornings sickness very early looks like it’s been the progesterone all along not the HCG .

Nordicmom · 04/06/2019 17:55

Also meant to ask if anyone else on progesterone shots and pessaries has been nauseous or is it really just me ?!!!!!!

mouse1234567 · 04/06/2019 19:38

@Welshpugmomma good luck with the injections

@cornishmaid1 time goes so slowly doesn’t it when I’m are waiting?!

@Zest11 thanks -it does make life easier. I have been quite open with a fair few people at work but now as I’m close to transfer I’m wondering if I should have been a little more private!!

@Nordicmon sorry you feel so rubbish -it sounds horrible! I only on day 4 of 2 x 25mg
Lubion injections and 2 x cyclogest pessaries but actually I’m lucky and don’t appear to have any symptoms other that tiredness. I don’t have nausea -but we do all have different responses. It’s early days so perhaps I will develop symptoms.

mouse1234567 · 04/06/2019 21:00

Started my arovi blood thinning injection tonight -not enjoying my 3 injections a day -I’m running out of unsore spots to inject into. I also started aspirin tonight -is anyone else on aspirin and blood thinners??

KittyKatSmile · 04/06/2019 22:41

@mouse1234567 I'm on aspirin as well although not the other one. I'm getting fairly sick of injections too. Tonight's were a bit painful. Onwards.

Mrbay · 05/06/2019 00:03

@zest11 - we have our scan the same day! Thankfully, I'll make it this time, well after my cock up first time around.
Safe to say PMT is back!
Welcome @welshpugmomma1
@Nordicmom, I'm hoping it's pregnancy symptoms for you
