Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

@DawnK77 sorry, our messages crossed but now you've got me wondering. I've done some research. Do you have a bottle of water with each bottle of menopur? If so then you don't need to look at the amounts, just add one whole bottle to the powder, then draw all of the mixed up liquid in and inject. Hope that doesn't sound patronising x

DawnK77 · 30/05/2019 22:18

Hi, I've just had a calm read lol, no water mentioned.

No I have one bottle of powder and one syringe of liquid and this should do me four injections then i open another box and same again . I have had a look at the bag of needles I have, they all say Buserlin but on my written down instructions that just says one of them and I have a box for that, before EC so I'll ask nurse about them when I call tomorrow too.

This is seeking so confusing when it's something so important and close to the heart. I'm going to read my book and try to stop my brain from thinking !

LittleOne3 · 30/05/2019 22:27

@KittyKatSmile Great minds. First one I've done in 20 years! Can I ask, did you take DH to counselling or was it just you? I have a first appointment next Friday, was just going to go alone. My DH seems emotionally fine. In fact sometimes I'm not sure he's aware we've gone through IVF...

@DawnK77 Poor you! Maybe Google a YouTube video? I did at some point, figured if they were wearing a nurses uniform then it's probably not too far off!

@Cauliflower82 Yes yes yes to a playlist. There would probably need to be different sections for different moods as they hit though!

@LittleOne3, no DH to take with me, which is why they insisted on me going to counselling; think they need to check I'm stable enough to be a single parent, which actually annoys me quite a lot. 4 miscarriages in the last year with my partner then we broke up so I'm going it alone Grin

I'd probably go to the counselling alone; you may find you get more out of it if you don't have to consider anyone else just for that hour! I was sceptical but actually it was pretty good.

(And your jigsaw looks too hard for me!)

DawnK77 · 30/05/2019 22:44

@littleone3 thank you so much, I never thought about YouTube!?!. I've just watched a video and I did it right, so no need for my freaking out i have been doing lol! Thanks again ! Xxxxx

Nordicmom · 30/05/2019 22:54

Littleone3 I’m 5dp2dt

Nordicmom · 30/05/2019 23:04

I was told to test next week fri and give them a call but I already have to see how much HCG was left in my system from the tricker shot a week and two days ago. There was a bit few d ago but it seems gone now . DH is going his mom’s with the kids in the weekend so I’ll have a whole two days to obsess here all alone which I will be if these cramps in my uterus area continue because it stops me thinking about anything else it’s so cruel they just remind me of all my miscarriages ☹️😡!!!! Poor DS 14 has 12 exams next week he’s been revising all week . I don’t envy him but he’s got summer grades already and an award for them so it doesn’t matter so much how they’ll go although will effect his last report and are prepping him for GCSEs in two years . It’s shocking how old he is suddenly !

Ginandtonic31 · 30/05/2019 23:31

I've just made an appointment with the counsellor I was seeing earlier in the year. She's a private one though, not through the clinic. Maybe I should see one through the clinic? Basically I think I'm suffering with relationship OCC brought on by the IVF (think I had it once before buying a new house) and so I need to just get this out there with her and then re visit the coping mechanisms for anxiety etc. I think I've been suffering for about eight months and I'm sick of it! I hope I can crack it.

I'm on day 10 of Buserelin but haven't experienced any symptoms. Although I'm so annoyed at myself as I wanted to lose weight I put on on Holiday before a transfer and I haven't managed to. It frightens me getting pregnant this much bigger than I normally am.

Pose34 · 31/05/2019 01:17

Hope I can jump in here. Me and my wife have been going through IVF for almost 2 years now. We had a short stims cycle over Christmas 2018, egg collection on the 7th January, they collected 21 eggs - 5 fertilised and all frozen due to OHSS. After 3 months of waiting, fet started, 2 x 4 cell put back in on 22-05-19, my wife is currently 8dp2dt, we took a pregnancy test today and BFP, on both a FR & clear blue digital saying pregnant 1-2 weeks. I can’t quite believe it, she will be peeing on sticks until OTD 5th June. Hope all the ladies here get their bfp’s soon.

Baby dust to you all x

TwistofFate · 31/05/2019 07:26

@DawnK77 (and everyone else worrying about injections and doses), the nurse who showed me how to do the first injection mixed my menopur for me, but they gave me two pre mixed bottles and what I didn't realise was that the 600iu and 1200iu just meant different sized containers, I thought it must be different concentrations or something. On my 2nd day of menopur injections I only had enough for 125ml instead of 150ml in the first bottle and didn't realise I could've made up the difference using the 2nd container, but in the end it didn't make any difference at all. The thing to remember is that they know most of us aren't nurses or medics so I think they must make some allowances for human error and it probably doesn't need to be quite as precise as we all worry.

In terms of symptoms, I've got sore breasts a bit of wind/constipation and urinating more frequently, but it's still early days so they come and go though. Hoping that this little one sticks.

RRoonilWazlib · 31/05/2019 08:09

Wow, I've tried to keep on everyones news! I've read everyones updates and sending sticky vibes to those in the 2ww!

I'm waiting for Aunt Flo to arrive. I'm used to having 50-60 day cycles so happy to expect it in the next week or so. I have sore boobs and had period cramps yesterday so hoping for it to arrive over the weekend or early next week!

The clinic has told me I need to have a scan on day 1 or 2 before I can restart the meds, does anyone know what they will be checking for?

KittyKatSmile · 31/05/2019 08:17

@RRoonilWazlib is it short protocol you'll be on? (Sorry, I can't quite remember). I think they're checking that the lining is thin, so basically that you're in the right base position for starting.

Does that sound right to others? (We could totally go on a tv show as experts in this field!!)

Ginandtonic31 · 31/05/2019 09:45

@RRoonilWazlib they're just checking that you're good to start. Lining thin, womb looks good, how many small follicles you're starting with etc. They also took my blood to check estrogen levels are low.

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 10:23

@Pose34 that's great and congratulations but it's pretty poor form to join an infertility thread JUST to tell us about your BFP, whether conceived through IVF or not. Have a bit of sensitivity for God's sake.

Pose34 · 31/05/2019 10:29

@jemimafuddleduck

I have seen other posters also in their 2ww during this thread and lots of other lovely positive women wishing others luck and lifting each other up in this journey. I am infertile so I have every right to be on this infertility thread although it states ivf/ICSI thread and have been trying for this baby for over 2 years so forgive me if I mention a bfp. I have been through the other side of it and just wanted to let other women know it can happen. Other women are in their 2ww also are you going to cut them down if they mention a BFP? What happened to support?

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 10:36

@Pose34 not at all. But other people who are on this thread who have joined in their TWW are in their TWW, like you say. They don't just come on here to say "Hi I've got a BFP!!" out of nowhere!
Surely if you have been through this yourself then you would understand that that's not cool?
There's a difference between being supportive and positive and literally just coming on to brag about your BFP when others are going through a tough time.

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 10:37

And no one said you don't have a right to be on this thread Hmm My issue is with the way you've gone about it.

Pose34 · 31/05/2019 10:44

@jemimafuddleduck

I am also in the TWW but tested early. My intention wasn’t to come here and rub it other women’s faces that I’ve got a bfp after 2 years of ivf. Anyone that has gone through ivf will understand that after so much heartache to be able to share something positive with other women is nice. My intention was never to brag or upset anyone I just wanted to join a thread with other women going through ivf and ICSI also hopefully soon to get their bfp’s and add where I am at in my personal journey.

I won’t comment on this thread again if my comments cause offence to others that’s never my intention and I apologise.

EarlGreyT · 31/05/2019 11:57

@jemimafuddleduck
I completely agree with you.

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 11:59

@EarlGreyT thanks.

TwistofFate · 31/05/2019 12:17

How are you @Jemimafuddleduck? X

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 12:20

@TwistofFate not good 😂🤦‍♀️ I'm really struggling tbh. Also, it was a family member's funeral yesterday which was my OTD so things are feeling even worse.
My genuine congrats to you though ❤️

TwistofFate · 31/05/2019 12:35

@Jemimafuddleduck I'm so sorry, that's horrible timing. Flowers

LittleOne3 · 31/05/2019 12:44

@jemimafuddleduck Have been thinking about you last week. Yesterday sounds a bit of a heartbreaker on all fronts. Lots of love x

@KittyKatSmile Outrageous that they ask you for counselling just because of single momdom. That makes you strong, not nuts! I'm going to go alone. I often put on a brave face at home so DH doesn't feel worse than he does (male factor issue). Will maybe be nice to make it about me for once

@Ginandtonic31 Super interested about the relationship OCD. I read up on it, definitely has some familiar traits! Will mention it next week. Although in reality I will probably just bawl fol 90 mins solid!

@DawnK77 Not a problem. Hope you slept better for it!

jemimafuddleduck · 31/05/2019 12:46

Thanks @LittleOne3 and @TwistofFate x
