Hi everyone

I’m creating a new thread with the hope of finding people with similar dates to me. I am due to start medication on May 13th with the hope egg collection will be June 19th. I’m 34, female factor fertility.

Anyone else out there with similar dates?

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well and welcome to those just joined.

So I had egg collection yesterday and I was awake for the whole thing, no sleep at all! But, it was fine, I was more sore last night when the good drugs wore off and I'm finding it hard to move around today. The most depressing thing was that they kept shouting "follicle collapsed" Confused so we only got 4 eggs collected. I know people will say you only need one and this is true but I know the drop off rates are high so with only 4 our chances aren't great. I'm waiting for a call today to say how many have fertilised.

Each new step of this seems harder than the last and I am so disheartened right now. I will be crushed if we don't even get a transfer.

Weenumpty · 30/05/2019 10:32

Only 1 has fertilised, so if it survives the night I'll have transfer tomorrow at 2pm

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 11:45

Oh @Weenumpty, I'm sorry, that is so hard. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you tonight hoping for a transfer and we'll be here for whatever the next stage is. Courage my friend x

mincedpea · 30/05/2019 12:04

Echo what KittyKaySmile said, stay strong @Weenumpty. Hope the transfer goes ahead, sending positive thoughts.

mincedpea · 30/05/2019 12:14

@Cauliflower82 I have no idea how they get the polyp out, but hopefully it won't hurt. I am hoping it might just fall off (I've googled it, it happens!) Apparently implantation rates are lower with polyps, so it's going to have to come out. Another bridge to cross when the time comes. Hope you're doing ok too.

Great question on grading @Zest11, all this information is so useful - thank you @Spongebob79 @LittleOne3 for the really thorough answers.

Definitely agree that post egg collection is a rollercoaster. I'd psyched myself up so much for EC that I'd not really paid attention to the fact that there'd be something after that to go through too. Hope everyone is doing ok today.

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 13:49

Had my scan this morning. I was slightly worried because AF didn't come until yesterday evening (and then was so painful she woke me up in the middle of the night). They said my lining looks really thin (words you otherwise really don't want to hear!) and I'm clear to start on the stims tomorrow. I'm relieved. One step closer but so many hurdles still to jump.

Thank you ladies for keeping me sane x

TwistofFate · 30/05/2019 14:09

@Weenumpty so sorry to hear only one made it but hoping it makes through the night, and you're taking care of yourself. It's such a stressful time and there are so many variables and stages where something can go wrong. Sad

@KittyKatSmile That's great news, step by step. X

Nordicmom · 30/05/2019 16:25

Weenumpty I only got two eggs from two follicles both were mature and injected one fertilised and made it to d2 transfer and now i’m in 2 ww so it can work out even with small numbers . Mine is very unlike to work on first go though due to my age and history of MCs even if I do conceive so I’d be absolutely amazed if that happens ... got my fingers crossed u get to transfer ! Going there for the possible transfer not knowing if it’s going to happen was awful I had that on last sat

Weenumpty · 30/05/2019 16:42

Thanks everyone, feeling a bit better now. I had a good cry and got it out! My partner is so much more positive than I am which is good for me! I just really really hope my 1 egg is a fighter! Thanks again for all your kind words xx

Spongebob79 · 30/05/2019 18:45

@mincedpea, polyps are the bane of my life, I’ve had 3 now, the first done as a hystoroscopy with no aesthetic and the other 2 under a full general. But they were really no bother to remove.

@Weenumpty my fingers are crossed for your little embryo, this time waiting for transfer is so stressful, it’s as bad as the tww. I hope you have good news tomorrow.

I had my day 2 call this morning and all 5 embryos are where they would like them to be for the stage. I didn’t ask more as sometimes I prefer not knowing all the details. Was told they are all very similar at the moment so they will check again tomorrow and make the decision of whether it’ll be a transfer tomorrow or Sunday.

Helene2019 · 30/05/2019 19:20

Things move fast on this thread. I haven't managed to read through everything yet but see a number of people have had EC and transfer - wishing everyone good news.

I had my interim scan (6 days post stim). After my cock up with the very first dose of Menopur where I managed to not give myself the right amount, I was worried I had messed up this cycle. But they said I have 12 follicles growing with 10 at 10-12mm and 2 mini ones at 5mm. So I think it's working and I hope they all get bigger by next scan, which will determine if EC on Friday can go ahead.

One thing is I'm super bloated on Menopur - I'm finding my lower belly sticks out so much that most of my work clothes don't fit me, even though my weight has stayed the same. I wish I could go to work in something comfortable like PJs or jogging bottoms!

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 20:10

@Spongebob79 that is great news! Fingers crossed for you tomorrow (or Sunday).

@Helene2019 those numbers sound good. Fingers crossed for you as well.
Such a numbers game isn't it?! I've been through most of this process before when freezing my eggs but I'm struck by how much less I was concerned by the actual numbers then!

Cauliflower82 · 30/05/2019 20:30

@weenumpty I’m praying for you and your embryo. It’s such a difficult time. Hope you’re okay. What a rollercoaster.

@spongedbob79 that’s excellent news :)

@helene2019 things are looking really good then :).

Do all of our follicles tend to grow or just some of them?

It’s been a particularly tough day today. I went to see a friend of mine who has just given birth to twins. They’re so beautiful. But it’s so hard. I’d just be the luckiest happiest person in the world with one. Like all of us really, I’m just desperate for the next stage in my life.

Hope everyone is doing well 🤗

Hi girls. This thread does move fast! I've just done my first dose of Menopur... Freaking out, how do I know I've done it right ?! And said to do 125, the needle thing had 75 and 150 so had to guess. My brains in overdrive !!!

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 21:18

@Cauliflower82. Poor darling girl. It's so unbelievably hard. Well done you for getting over there to see them all. Our time(s) will come; for now I think we have to keep believing that. Take care lovely x

Nordicmom · 30/05/2019 21:28

I’m somehow finding this waiting harder than ever after everything I’ve put myself through to get to this point I just have zero patience left and can’t wait to move on one way or another . If it’s a bust will be nice to have a few month break this summer I’ve had enough for now . Feel
shitty constantly so there’s no way not to think about it either . Have been feeling nauseous on and off and cramps are back
with a vengeance and now different kind of twinges too . Icing on the cake are the daily bloody progesterone needles I’ve rrally had enough of !!!!! Saving grace is DH doing my shots i’m a bit of a phobic

Cauliflower82 · 30/05/2019 21:28

@dawnk77 I think mine is 125 too! Ooh I’m not good at guessing 😂 that should be interesting. Do you need to take it the same time as the other medication? I think once I start mine I take it at pretty much the same time as the buserelin.

@kittykatsmile I am really starting to believe that now. I felt like playing Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing before - that might become my theme tune for the next couple of weeks.

Nordicmom · 30/05/2019 21:31

Also now seem to be getting sick with a sore throat and cough . My immune system not so great due to steroids so things linger

DawnK77 · 30/05/2019 21:32

Hi Cauliflower, no just the metpur then start ceterozide (can't spell) starts Monday.

Did you have to mix the metpur up yourself? I didn't realise till tonight then had absolute panic WTF am I doing ?!?! Lol!

So now I'm sat, doing the worst thing .... Googling it. I haven't got a clue !! Xx

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 21:53

@DawnK77 @Cauliflower82 that is ridiculous! Why wouldn't they just give us syringes that can measure the right things!! My stims are powders that you mix with water I think. Should maybe check that before tomorrow so I'm not flustered. Also, why do we all have different drugs?! So frustrating! Don't they know how much we rely on mumsnet?!

LittleOne3 · 30/05/2019 21:55

@KittyKatSmile Congrats on your thin lining 😜 (Yep that sounds weird!)

@ Cauliflower82 When you get bored of Journey on repeat add in a bit of 'Defying Gravity' From Wicked. Gives you a real positive buzz 😁

@Nordicmom What day post 5dt are you? I'm day 2 at the moment. When's official test day? (I say official because I'm gonna test from day 4 onwards I'm pretty sure!)

@DawnK77 I used menopur but 150mg. Do you have to make it up yourself or is it a pre made liquid? I had to put 2 vials of 75mg powder in 1ml water and inject the whole 1ml.

d2p5dt. Today I bought a puzzle book and am sending off all the answers to try and win £25 cash prizes. Keeps me occupied although DH thinks I'm nuts 😁.Tomorrow I'm going to start baking...

DawnK77 · 30/05/2019 22:01

I know, as it would be logical to give ones that say 125 I'm not wondering am I right lol!! I'm going to do the nurses head in tomorrow I'm sure, but I need to ring her for some sanity.

Mine was a powder, and then a syringe and it said to inject all into the powder then use that pot to use the needless that came with the pack, then I have another massive pack of needles that o don't know what they are for, and one pack of Metformin missing bit everything I ring the people who delivered it they don't answer, the one time they did the systems were down , couldn't help me, and now can't get through again ... Got to laugh really.

So now I've mixed the Metopur I've put the pot back in the fridge. Also hope this is right. I'm also obsessed with checking the fridge temperature to make sure not too cold. What even is too cold.

I need a hobby too, that's a good idea. I'm doing my own head in tonight haha xx

KittyKatSmile · 30/05/2019 22:03

@LittleOne3 ooooh! Puzzle book is a great idea! The counsellor last week told me not to lose sight of 'project me' in pursuit of 'project baby' and suggested I did a jigsaw puzzle. I went and bought one. And finished it within a day. I'm going to start buying Take a Break Grin

That's how my drugs go as well: mix the whole vial of powder with one of water and then inject that liquid into the next powder and then into the old fat rolls...

Cauliflower82 · 30/05/2019 22:06

@dawnk77 yeah, I think we need to mix it ourselves. The nurse at my clinic said she’d show me how to do it on the day I go for my scan to check if I’m shut down. I’m annoyed they haven’t given you a prep session - I need constant reassurances that what I’m doing is right. Hope you’re managing okay.

@kittykatsmile I know, I don’t get it either. Especially when a lot of us are doing this for the first time - why all the different protocols. It’s surprised me how much I’ve just went along with what I’m told to do - minimal questions asked by me (so very unlike me - I’m that annoying person at school who always had my hand up 😂)

@littleone3 what a fabulous suggestion! I adore that song. I’ve already got it downloaded too. Ooh maybe we could create a little ivf album 😂
