Hi all,

Am about to start my Clomid journey and reading through the 2018 Clomid thread this is what I'm looking for. It's extremely difficult to talk about the issues with people who don't actually understand them so if anyone wants to join in the more the merrier!

I'm 30
TTC #1
Cycle #?? Been trying for 5 years
Have mild Prolactinoma
Taking daily 1mg Bromocriptine for tumour
Just been given 3 months of Clomid
Am also slightly overweight but have never ovulated.

Smile

@Jesskir89 I’m from Preston, Manchester is about 40 mins to an hour drive away traffic depending.

How about everyone else? Where are we all from?

Yeah, a bit of new lingerie can’t do any harm 😊.

Jesskir89 · 21/05/2019 22:47

I'm from Manchester my mum and grandma live near you in Chorley though :)

tinyradish · 22/05/2019 05:01

My clomid baby was born on 2nd May. I hope you all get yours soon - it'll all be worth it

Pinktruffle · 22/05/2019 09:38

I ended up calling in sick to work today. I couldn't face it. I found out last night that my cousin had a baby boy on my due date - which is what in fairly sure I was having. It all felt one to many kicks in the gut and I just couldn't face work.

I am seeing my specialist tomorrow and will try to pull myself together for that.

Jesskir89 · 22/05/2019 12:35

Congratulations tinyradish how my cycles did it take? We're you on 50 or 100? And pinktruffle I'm sorry to hear that these things are sent to test us from time to time but your time will come x

seven201 · 22/05/2019 20:40

I'm impressed at the lingerie! My dh is lucky if I take my socks off . Talking of socks, did you know it's good to keep your feet warm in the two week wait? My acupuncturist told me that.

Congratulation @tinyradish !

@Pinktruffle oh that is shit. My friend from down the road who I convinced to start trying for her dc2 is pregnant and due on my due date. So her baby will turn one when mine should be turning 2. God it hurts. I'm glad you took the day off. So you're seeing a fertility doctor tomorrow? That's good.

I think either the clomid worked for me but didn't show an opk or didn't work and maybe I'll ovulate later in the cycle. I've decided to assume I ovulated late last week so am going for my progesterone blood test tomorrow afternoon. Me and dh are definitely fed up of sex again the socks don't help. Tonight should be a sex night but we're having an extra day off!

bookworm18 · 23/05/2019 07:30

Sorry you're going through a hard time @Pinktruffle, good luck with your specialist today.

I'm from Kent @doomkittycleo.

I remember why I stopped using opks now. I become obsessive and I don't think they work as haven't had a positive one but pretty sure I ovulated yesterday (CD16). Had a tracking scan on Monday with a 25mm follicle but they were concerned if it didn't get released in the next 24 hours it would become a cyst as it was too big. Ovusense thinks it may have been yesterday and I had ovulation pain all day (which I've only ever felt once before) so🤞🏼 would be such a nice change from my usual long cycles!

How's everyone else getting on?

seven201 · 23/05/2019 08:32

@bookworm18 that sounds very promising about ovulation. 🤞 for you. I'm in Kent too!

Marmite83 · 23/05/2019 11:24

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days, Hotmail decided to start sending my notifications to Junk! Sorry it was negative @Pinktruffle. Fingers crossed it was just too early.

Cd6 for me today and I take my last Clomid tonight. Luckily for me the nasty side effects only lasted about 36 hours this time and I've been ok since. I'm off to Poland tomorrow for a wedding. We're not taking my dd and lots of our friends are going so I'm really looking forward to letting my hair down and trying not to think about ttc. Anyone else have anything nice planned for the weekend?

AmyMaria2 · 23/05/2019 12:18

Hi all, I'm from Kent also!
I'm on my 2nd month of clomid, I took them cd 2-6 and have been off them for 2 days now, haven't baby danced yet due to his work an things😔 going to start tonight,
Awkward question, but do people find it better to keep baby dancing every other day through the month or every day? Any less?
On my first month of clomid we kept it to every other day, I did ovulate but obviously wasn't successful so just wanting more advice this time! Thank you XX

Pinktruffle · 23/05/2019 13:37

@Amymaria2 everyday is too much according my doctor, she said 24-36 hours between BD to allow sperm to regenerate and that sperm lives for 5 days inside the womb. She said if you are doing it more regularly that the quality of sperm is poor. I was told no more than 3 times a week.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I've taken two days off work, I'll go back tomorrow. Saw my specialist today and they've changed my doctor, this one was so much better. He listened to us, asked questions, talked us through things, gave us options and let me ask all the questions I wanted. 😊

Cd32 and still no period, I'm going to do another test tomorrow or Saturday morning and if BFN and still no period his given me a course of Provera to take. He's upped me to 7.5g of Letrozole which is the max dose which I will take for 4 months and he's sending me for blood tests to confirm ovulation. If that doesn't work then it's a referral to IVF in 4 months. My follow up appointment is in 6 months but he told me to call and try and get a cancellation in 4 months so he can do the referral a.s.a.p. So scary but at least I know the plan now. He gave me the option of doing IVF now but hubby and I wanted to carry on trying for a little bit, I've had one pregnancy with no medical intervention so my husband is still hopeful we can have another one. I hope he's right.

Pinktruffle · 23/05/2019 13:38

Have a great time in Poland @marmite83 - I'm sure it'll do you the world of good not having to think about TTC and just enjoying yourself

Marmite83 · 23/05/2019 14:13

Thanks @Pinktruffle, glad the appointment went well.

I'm from Hertfordshire btw, forgot to say that in my last post.

My consultant has always said every other day @AmyMaria2

Jesskir89 · 23/05/2019 16:56

CD 32! Fingers and toes crossed for you! Regarding baby dancing I've been told 2 to 3 times a week until ovulation then every other day when ovulating but we've been doing a little more as my friend did it every day and fell pregnant x

bookworm18 · 23/05/2019 20:19

Hey neighbours @seven201 @@AmyMaria2! Thank you seven201, I'm feeling much more positive than Monday. I was very worried the follicle would be too big as the specialist was quite negative but 🤞🏼

I was told at least every other day this week by my specialist after my scan on Monday AmyMaria2. I asked if that was enough and she said plenty. DH has low morphology so risk of poor quality swimmers if we BD more regularly.

Glad today went well @Pinktruffle, sounds positive! It makes a huge difference when you feel listened to and that you can ask lots of questions.

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2019 09:26

Urgh. Back at work and yet another colleague has announced she's pregnant.

My period still hasn't come which is confusing me because they were regular before I went on Letrozole. What the hell's going on now? I'm just a barrel of laughs at the moment, I'm getting fed up of myself.

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2019 16:04

Well AF turned up unaided, CD33, she is really making her presence known....
At least it mines I'm likely ovulating

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2019 16:04

Means*

Jesskir89 · 24/05/2019 18:25

Sorry to hear that pinktruffle had everything crossed she wouldn't arrive at all! I'm planning on getting very drunk this weekend now I've had mine and know I can't be pregnant 😒

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2019 19:10

I'm thinking that I may do similar!

cake1987 · 24/05/2019 19:41

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing ok

I'd love some advice on when to start testing. I took clomid on days 2-6 of my cycle and was given the trigger shot on Monday 13th. I think that I ovulated on Wednesday 15th but don't know if and when I should start testing, or if I should just wait for my period to come. What do think?

Thanks xxx

doomkittycleo · 24/05/2019 20:33

@Pinktruffle I’m glad your new Dr is better than the previous one. You must feel better knowing the plan of action. Sorry Af arrived, but as you say it is probably a good sign for ovulation.

@Amymaria2 my Dr has a different protocol for BD and says to abstain for 5 days before opk turns positive (based on usual cycle length), then BD for 3 days in a row once you get a positive opk. Apparently 5 day old sperm is best.

@Jesskir89 enjoy your drink tonight. I might join you 😉. I’m CD10 and opk is negative atm. It went positive on CD12 last cycle, so won’t be long now.

@cake1987 if you can hold off until af is due you’re better off as you could get a false negative for testing too early which could cause unnecessary stress. If you can’t hold off that long I’d say af least try and get to 12dpo. I know you hear stories of some women getting a bfp at 9dpo, but it is pretty rare from what I’ve read.

cake1987 · 25/05/2019 07:14

Thanks @doomkittycleo , I'll try and hold out til 12 days. Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx

seven201 · 25/05/2019 13:36

@cake1987 personally I prefer to wait until my period is overdue. Just do what you want but if you test too early don't be too annoyed that it's not positive .

@Pinktruffle I'm glad your doctor was so good. Also good news that your period arrived by itself and you didn't need the medicine to bring it on.

seven201 · 25/05/2019 20:26

I'm on way out to dinner with friends. If I did ovulate I think I'm 8 days past that. I really want a few glasses of wine as everyone else will be getting hammered. Should I just have two small ones? I'm a bit of a lightweight. I'm just fed up of going out of 1.5 years of not being able to get pissed during the two week wait. I've made myself sound like a piss head. I'm really not, promise! What's the max you would drink in 2ww?
