New year, new 'starting the journey' thread

I know there are a lot of threads about people starting out, but they were all started a while ago and everyone seems a lot further ahead these days.

So.... newbies unite?

DH and I have been ttc for 2yrs. Saw our gp who ordered blood tests and sperm tests. He gave us a boat load of info..... jokes, he was pants. Told me I was 'fine' and husband was 'not fine', only detail was that DH has 4mil out of a necessary 16mil sperm, mentioned ivf and referred us to a specialist. That's all the info we got. Today I had a transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound. It was not the most fun 20 mins of my life but it was fine, now I'm trying to play Sherlock and figure out what the random numbers the radiologist was shouting about my ovaries meant. How about you?

Because I'm early stages, I avoided forums/Google etc because I'm prone to anxiety and didn't want to panic unnecessarily. Therefore apologies but I'm still trying to figure out all the abbreviations and lingo! Also sorry, I'm naturally sarcastic and a bit sweary, but that doesn't mean I'm insensitive - it would be great to share stories and support each other here

Hey all. Yes saw my friend and it went ok. We just chatted for a couple of hours and caught up. Baby was feeding and having a bath most of the time I was there and then I declined a hold but I'm really pleased with myself for managing to go. Milestone really.

Def agree with having a hol and prioritising that. We're gonna try and book something this week. Just got to check my colleagues won't mind covering for me again.... had 6 weeks off this year with my laparoscopy recovery and miscarriage. I've NEVER had big amounts of time off ever so feel a bit guilty. @VenusStarr

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF all the best with your injections! How exciting! When is ET likely to be?

@2fingers22018 wonder if you keep in touch with the clinic if they may let you know if any openings come up to start ivf early? Not sure how it all works but may be worth a try. Hope you're doing ok xxx

Hi @squirrelnutkins glad your visit with your friend went ok! How have you been?
I think ET might be around the 10th June! I booked my scan today that’s booked for the 24th may!

I'm doing much better thank you. Feeling brighter and trying to keep positive. My emotions have settled a lot so I feel way more in control. I'm sure I'll have bad days but there's been more good ones this last week. Thanks for asking xx

Morning ladies hows everyone today ordered our self insemination kit last nite! Feelin low today nice day to go to the park but im missing my little dog soo much its hard. Trying to focus on the kit comin and looking forward to fertile wk something positive to focus on.

Yes, horrible! Feeling quite negative at the moment, need to try and stay positive!! I think towards the end of the week I'll start looking for things, even though I know I shouldn't! Nothing as of yet, but suppose still too early.
They close it do they? Lol. We'll have to do it! Perhaps just "starting the journey thread 2" xx
