Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

@bunnieboo91, @Realitysucks, @Intrigued2018 and @Bumblebee25 thank you all so much for your congratulations! I'm off for a blood test today so hope it's a good number. They'll book my scan in too.

@Bumblebee25 congratulations right back!! Good luck for your scan and great attitude. Today we are pregnant!

@ginandtonicformeplease congratulations on your FET and fingers crossed.

@bunnieboo91 ectopics are very rare. I unfortunately am one of the 1% who has had one and I had one of the risk factors which was my emergency c section. Try not to worry, the likelihood is very low and my next pregnancy, although it didn't work out, was in the right place.

@Realitysucks I'm crossing everything that she stays away!

Realitysucks · 26/02/2019 07:00

Another negative test this morning so that’s 10dpo surely it would show up by now if it was there ?!?!

bunnieboo91 · 26/02/2019 08:08

@Boboelephant Oh, I am sorry to heat that Sad I just seen the scan booking confirmation and it says this is to check it's in the right place so I was worried.

Boboelephant · 26/02/2019 08:24

@Realitysucks I'm sorry for the bfn. Still hoping af stays away.

@bunnieboo91 thank you. It's been a tough old road. I think it's just protocol to rule it out, probably not very sensitive to put it on the form though!

bunnieboo91 · 26/02/2019 09:24

@RealitySucks I was 18 dpo when I first tested and I had period cramps all through my TWW. Stop torturing yourself, stay positive! Grin

Realitysucks · 26/02/2019 19:23

@bunnieboo91 am trying to but now symptom spotting ! Convinced I have metallic taste and thought my secretary smelt of wee 🤣🤣🤣 then realised it was her purfume 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

2019isouryear · 27/02/2019 19:22

We have been given the go ahead for our treatment (starting in a few weeks) the consultant has recommended ICSI due to DH mobility, now I’m panicking a bit reading about the potential risks and there being more with this type of treatment. Am I over thinking. Just wondered what others experiences where. This is prob our only shot so want to do what they recommend to hopefully make it a success.

bunnieboo91 · 27/02/2019 19:40

@2019isouryear There is risks to many things but after I've done my research the risks are tiny and they have to mention all types of risks to cover their backs basically. If they have recommended that treatment for you you're in the best possible place to get that BFP! Thing of the good things and not the what ifs amazing you're starting your journey in a couple of weeks! Wishing you all the best and get excited!

@Realitysucks Hey girl! What's the news? Your secretary still smelling like piss? GrinGrinGrin

2019isouryear · 27/02/2019 20:32

Thanks @bunnieboo91 hope everything is going good for you, seen your good news in the thread x

Realitysucks · 27/02/2019 20:49

@bunnieboo91 so typical test failure this morning took 15 mins to show faint BFN now convince di have very faint af signs I’m gutted so booking ski trip for April 😡😡😡F*it!

Realitysucks · 27/02/2019 20:52

@2019isouryear I was recommended ICSI too as I’m 41, but DH sperm is super sperm so I questioned it ! At the end of the day it is what clinic recommends so I’m going with it !

PhoenixBird82 · 28/02/2019 08:19

Please send me all-positive baby vibes for tomorrow, ladies! I have my blood test tomorrow morning...
This is so scary- my heart starts beating faster and fingertips go colder when I realise that tomorrow is all-decisive day....
Mostly have no syptoms, apart from going a lot to the toilet, bloating and a slight pain around the ovaries area.

ginandtonicformeplease · 28/02/2019 08:34

Good luck @PhoenixBird82 , I hope everything goes well.

The steroids I'm on are a nightmare - I'm constantly hungry and bloated! Im getting rather grumpy as well, and I'm worried that it's AF coming. Usually a FET is done between days 17-21 but I had the transfer on day 25, so if AF were to arrive it would only be another couple of days. I'm vacillating massively between optimism and pessimism, but unfortunately I think pessimism is winning.

MIL has been on about grandchildren again and I'm considering burying her under the patio this weekend.

intrigued2018 · 28/02/2019 08:40

@PhoenixBird82 - I have my fingers and toes crossed for positive news for you tomorrow! Don't worry about not having many symptoms this is completely normal apparently, the Internet likes us to believe everyone gets symptoms but remember tonnes of people don't even realise they are pregnant for ages after. Thinking of you.

I'm finding I'm just feeling massively anxious this week stressing over things at work that wouldn't normally bother me and overthinking things, has anyone else found this? Not sure if it's the cyclogest, steroids or my mind trying to block out the TWW as strangely I'm not stressing over this part. I've booked some annual leave beginning of next week and test date to have some me time! X

intrigued2018 · 28/02/2019 08:48

@ginandtonicformeplease - didn't see your message before sending! Reading a little more I think it is the steroids making my stress more about things, it's driving me insane as I can't switch off! When do you test again? Fingers crossed AF doesn't arrive anytime soon for you and hope you feel a little brighter soon! I don't think I'd cope if my MIL asked - luckily I know she isn't in a hurry to be a grandparent as that will make her feel old so doesn't mention it 😀 x

Realitysucks · 28/02/2019 08:55

Well ladies I’m out! Af reared her ugly heard this morning and I’m gutted 😞

ginandtonicformeplease · 28/02/2019 09:40

@Realitysucks I'm really sorry to hear that, look after yourself

@intrigued2018 My test day is next Friday, so still over a week away. I've never been that affected emotionally by the cyclogest or progynova, so it must either be the steroids or clexane - I'm leaning towards steroids as when I had to double them it all got worse. I also sit at work dreaming of food all day! Having to ditch the coffee probably doesn't help either.

MIL isn't even 60 yet, but has been complaining for the past five years that all her friends have grandchildren. Thankfully they live quite a way from us as on all these drugs I'm not sure I could cope as well as I usually do with her.

intrigued2018 · 28/02/2019 09:40

@Realitysucks - sorry to hear AF arrived Thanks I hope you are okay. Focus on booking your April ski trip and pamper yourself. Xxx

bunnieboo91 · 28/02/2019 11:04

@Realitysucks Oh no! Sad I am sorry AF has arrived! At least you can book your skiing trip and have many drinks and relax for a but before getting back into the game? Hope you're feeling ok x

Realitysucks · 28/02/2019 13:58

I’m ok girls thanks, I’m on the way to clinic now for a blood test, if test is favourable ( who knows that that means) then will have scan tomorrow and if ok will start injections again on Saturday. Is it bad that I just want to cane a bottle of wine tonight 😬

bunnieboo91 · 28/02/2019 14:12

@Realitysucks Hell no!!! You need a bottle of wine to cheer yourself up plus you're now going on a holiday! Where is the skiing trip?

@PhoenixBird82 Wishing you all the good vibes girl! You had a BFP so its going to be ok? My clinic didn't ask for a blood test just turn up for my scan on the 20th March.

Realitysucks · 28/02/2019 14:17

@bunnieboo91 thing is if I start injections on Saturday i shouldnt really drink but then I’m like I just wanna drink wine, cry and watch a film tonight!

Ski trip is Val Thorens on 13th April just hope the snow holds out! Should be ok as it’s a high altitude resort!

PhoenixBird82 · 28/02/2019 15:22

@ginandtonicformeplease Thanks a lot!
@intrigued2018 Thank you very much for cheering me up and finding the right words. My husband says the same that many women don’t feel anything at all, especially of they fall pregnant naturally.

@bunnieboo91 Thank you, dear! No, no- no home test for me. I have to take a blood test tomorrow morning, that’s my clinic’s rules. Like I said before, I secretly and childishly wished to myself: if you will get a positive result, I shall get one too. Really hope this prediction will work out.

Ooh, getting cold feet and cold everything! Just talked to my nanna and shared a bit- she is my greatest supporter and well-wisher. Her positivity is always healing me. I really hope, tomorrow will be a good day...

Realitysucks · 28/02/2019 20:24

@PhoenixBird82 good luck for blood test fingers crossed for you!

Vetgirl · 28/02/2019 21:42

Hi! I’ve been lurking for a while but never posted! Congrats to all those with positives, so exciting for you all! I don’t know many of the shorthands but I’m 27, TTC #1. My husband has azoospermia so we’ve use donor sperm for our first IVF cycle. Had embryo transfer on Sunday so am 4 days post transfer today and just wondered if anyone else has had a watery vaginal discharge? Bit gross I know! Mine’s just started today and I’m not sure if it’s a good sign/bad sign/nothing sign!
