Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs .

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

Feeling annoyed about being on steroids today. I always get a 'steroids face', I've been on and off steroids for the last 10-15yrs and it makes me so self conscious, today I have to go into my head office (normally work at client site) and I know we have some people who could say something and am dreading it! Just want to stay in bed and cry x

@Vetgirl Hey girl! Don't read anything into discharge! It doesn't give any indication if you're pregnant or not! I checked with docs and they said it's just to help clean your moo. How exciting and congrats on the TWW! When do you test?

Dear ladies, got my positive result today. It hasn’t sunk in, now the little bean has to stick.
Thank you so much to those who gave their support, tips and have just been there for me. It would’ve been definitely more hard without being able to talk and read you.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of you at whatever stage you are at now. We are going to get through and reach our dream!

@intrigued2018 I know what you mean about the steroids. It's my first time on them and I already hate them. They're far worse than any of the other meds I'm on.

Getting some dull pain today. Really worried it's AF getting ready to come.

AFM I had a blood test yesterday results were FSH is 5 apparently that’s ideal for any age let alone at 41 so doc was gobsmacked ! I had 6 follicles all bigger than last time and already at 6mm so have the go ahead to start injections on Sunday night. They are hoping I will respond this month. Fingers crossed!

@PhoenixBird82 - AMAZING NEWS!! Congratulations, so glad all the stress and worry was worth it. 🎉🎉 I test next Friday so fingers crossed.

@ginandtonicformeplease - some of the other girls on here have also had twinges and felt like AF was coming so i wouldn't rule things out. Fingers crossed it's just the embryo getting all comfy and settling in for the next 8months. Our test date is the same 🤞🏻 Steroids are horrendous, I always hate them! When we were first told about needing IVF I was so pleased to have help but couldn't stop crying as they'd said about going back on steroids!

@Realitysucks - really good news that it's all systems go for next month, your bloods are good and that you already have 6 follicles! All sounds promising. I hope this is your cycle! 😘 Ive cheered up a little, I've had a few stresses at work which hasn't helped my mood. My manager did ask about steroids, joking said I was overreacting to a situation as a result and said about the moon face. I nearly swung for him... luckily I do have a fairly lighthearted relationship so he just got explicits instead so he has now promised to say nothing going forward. He doesn't know about the IVF. Thank god it's the weekend!!! X

@intrigued2018 oh god work is so difficult! I was really happy earlier. Was texting DH in clinic then. Came out from scan and he had gone out not taken phone and I text him results. He rang me from a pub on the slopes at 7 obviously drunk so I’m pretty annoyed!

Then get text from boss suggesting I tell HR given All the time I’ve had off for treatment 😡😡😡😡 which he was completely wrong about as I’ve swapped wfh days and taken half a days leave last month so only actually kissed half a day! wish I’d never been up front about it all now and just lied and been sick! I’m so annoyed and then had some wine 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😡😡😡

@Realitysucks - sounds like an absolute rollercoaster of a day yesterday! I'd have been annoyed at DH also, when is he back?

As for work sounds like your boss isn't being particularly supportive. There is nothing saying you need to tell HR and you self-certify sick leave for 5 consecutive sick days so don't let him force you to if you don't want to! I've just taken days off sick, I've felt guilty but didn't want work to know or the added pressure. Hope the wine helped 😘 x

@intrigued2018 DH not back till Monday night. I’m so annoyed at him, on one hand I know he needs a break and feel guilty for all the ttc craziness but on the other he just didn’t think yesterday which is a typical man!

My relationship with my boss is a difficult one. On one hand we are good friends and I have helped him out loads and vise versa, But then sometimes he is harsher on me than others. Problem is we work in the same room so I had to tell him really as wouldn’t have been able to hide it.

Now feeling guilty for the wine and have a sore head 🙄

@intrigued2018 How are you getting on with your 2WW? I'm getting grumpier and grumpier. Ever since I had the transfer last Monday I've had little dull pains occasionally - I keep thinking they're period pains.

@Realitysucks How did it go with your boss? I haven't told mine about IVF at all - the poor guy was so uncomfortable when I had a MMC last year that I just wouldn't put him though that! Luckily I have flexible hours though, so on mornings when I've had to have a scan I've just started late and worked late.

@ginandtonicformeplease - haven't had the best of days. Been having period cramps since Saturday, today looks like my period is trying to start (browny CM - sorry TMI) so think I'm out this cycle as it's too late for implantation bleeding. Trying my hardest not to just sit and cry my eyes out, I'm sure the next couple of days will confirm it's a BFN. That said tonight I've had a really really weird taste in my mouth, I'm still convinced my period will start by Wednesday though. Not sure what we'll do next as not sure what else the hosp can do considering they've thrown everything at me meds' wise!
Sorry you are feeling grumpier, the meds are rubbish and the TWW is horrid! I'm done with the process and just want to know so can plan either way. X

@intrigued2018 Ive had usual period cramping but hardly anything the past 3 days but today I feel like my AF is coming... I'm even wearing a pad just incase.... Test day is until weds.... I keep reading the AF feeling is typical of either a BFP or the meds so don't feel you're out the running just yet xx

@ViolaD77 - I know I shouldn't completely rule myself out, the cramps don't bother me it's the brown CM that does. I always get this 1-2days before my period starts and as now on 13dpo the timings fall exactly in line! Time will tell, just gutted. Good luck for your test tomorrow, fingers crossed for a BFP for you xxx

@intrigued2018 I was reading through the old thread where I had my BFP, and the night before my test I had some spotting and thought that I was out - fingers crossed it's all ok.

I gave in a tested today which showed a faint line but it could be chemical... If there's two lines again tomorrow I'll probably ask my clinic for a blood test to be sure! Have attached a pic, what do your line eyes think? Xx

Thank you. That was my second icsi attempt but I have 3 frosties so I'm going to enquire today how soon I can try again. I know my lining was thin and wasn't on meds very long to help with that so hopefully I can start it/ carry on the meds for my lining to help with a FET 🤞 good luck all xxx
