Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

Hi @Realitysucks - the waiting is horrible! Good news that the hcg is now out the system though, i wouldn't worry able feeling no difference as a lot of people don't! Fingers crossed for your test. X

TheGlitterFairy · 23/02/2019 11:26

@intrigued2018 @Realitysucks @bunnieboo91 @ginandtonicforme @Ginandtonic31* Thanks for all of your thoughts this week - it was a tough one.
We’ve agreed to move forward to ED and looking at the various options with that. Consultant is in agreement that it’s the right thing to do now given low reserve/ poor response. It’s been a relief in some ways to draw a line under that and make a plan to move forward. Crap in other ways though and wish that it wasn’t the case but there we are.

@intrigued2018 did all go ok with your ET this week? I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞 x

@Realitysucks hang in there x

ginandtonicformeplease · 23/02/2019 13:59

@mimi27 Sorry, I meant that I hadn't been using cyclogest on the fresh round as it was always going to be a freeze all. I'd think that you'd just be able to stop that though if you're not having a transfer. It took me about a week before I was feeling well again, and even then I still had a ridiculously swollen belly! I had the EC on a Monday, then it got worse until the Thursday, then it slowly got better after that.

I'm on a FET this time and the hormones are doing my head in! Those plus the steroids are leaving me constantly hungry. Transfer on Monday afternoon, hopefully all will go well.

@whatdoyouwantfromme I'm really sorry to hear that, I know how devastating that is Thanks

bunnieboo91 · 23/02/2019 14:52

@whatdoyouwantfromme I am sorry it didn't work out Sad big hugs! X

bunnieboo91 · 23/02/2019 14:55

I’m now getting period pains rather than cramps and trying not to freak out it didn't work! Test is Monday and praying I see no blood! Anyone else having this? Is there still hope?!?!

Boboelephant · 23/02/2019 14:55

Hey all. Sorry I slipped off the thread for a while, been coping with 2ww by trying to stay away from the internet!! Currently 6dp6dt.

@intrigued2018 how did your EC go?

@TheGlitterFairy I'm so sorry your cycle was cancelled. Good luck for your decision to move onto ED and hope this is the answer you've been waiting for.

@PhoenixBird82 I think if you are used to lifting things it's probably fine as they say to resume as normal. How's the wait going for you now?

@bunnieboo91 how are you feeling? Excited for testing Monday?? I'm equal parts excited and terrified!

@whatdoyouwantfromme I'm so so sorry your cycle failed. It's all of our worst nightmares. Please be kind to yourself.

@Realitysucks sorry for the bfn but it's still very early. Hopefully your positive is just around the corner.

@ginandtonicformeplease good luck for Monday!

Boboelephant · 23/02/2019 14:57

@bunnieboo91 x post. Pregnancy and af cramps can feel the same so you're not out yet! Fingers crossed!

bunnieboo91 · 23/02/2019 17:36

@Boboelephant I am so tempted to test early but will stick it out til Monday morning! Just getting AF like cramps but you're right they can feel similar.

How you feeling? Any symptoms?

Boboelephant · 23/02/2019 18:16

@bunnieboo91 you're being very patient. I think you've had a longer wait than me. When was your EC? They've told me to test 14 days after EC so I'll only be 8dp6dt so it's not been too bad. I don't have alot of symptoms, been having very mild cramps for a few days, a dry mouth for the last 2 days and a headache for about 4 days. It's hard though, I've been ttc for so long and had every symptom under the sun and always bfn so hopefully less symptoms are a good sign for me!

bunnieboo91 · 23/02/2019 20:44

My EC was on the 6th February but they said wait till the 25th so full 14 days! Really they told you to test two weeks after EC? Never heard that before!!!! Just one more day after today!!!!! I am being patient. When are you testing? X

Realitysucks · 23/02/2019 21:00

Good luck to those on tww !so is it awful of me to feel jealous that today I found out my beautiful girl is pregnant !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

intrigued2018 · 23/02/2019 21:24

@Boboelephant - I hope the 2ww is going quickly for you! Have my fingers crossed for your test Monday! I was told testing is 16days after EC, seems every clinic is different as with everything.

Thank you for asking, EC went well, i felt awful for the rest of the day and day after but since Friday felt good - I think it was the drugs in my system. we had 13 eggs collected but only 6 still going strong. All those we lost were between day 1 and day 2, 2 weren't mature eggs, 3 didn't survive the ICSI process and 2 were abnormal so trying not to get too concerned about those. Looking at day 5 transfer on Monday fingers crossed we still have 1 then xx

Realitysucks · 23/02/2019 21:38

@intrigued2018 good luck I hope it all goes well for you x

intrigued2018 · 24/02/2019 09:29

Thank you @Realitysucks - just had a call from the clinic and all 6 are where they should be. It was the doom and gloom embryologist at the clinic so now feeling worried none of them will make it to tomorrow as said they'd expect 2/3rds to not make it based on averages! Time to get up and keep myself busy, transfer booked for tomorrow after. Fingers crossed xx

Realitysucks · 24/02/2019 10:18

@intigued2018 it will be fine, even if you just get two to transfer that’s ideal! It only takes one!

AFM another negative test this morning at 8dpo Had a bit of a cry but DH is saying it’s too early and I’m just stressing myself out. 🙄

bunnieboo91 · 24/02/2019 12:16

@Realitysucks Hey girl! Its too early to test and this is why the clinic's advice us not to test early because it causes unnecessary negative emotions! I hate to say it but listen to DH Smile

Boboelephant · 24/02/2019 12:34

@bunnieboo91 yes 14 days after EC because for IVF dating purposes, EC is ovulation. So when they put a 5 or 6 day blastocyst back in, it's already equivalent to 5 or 6dpo as that's how long it would take it to get down the tube into the uterus etc. So they explained that 14 days post EC puts you at basically 14dpo when usually you are getting a bfp or af. Make sense? If AF has stayed away for you waiting longer, that's probably a good sign though?! I'm testing tomorrow morning. 🤞

@intrigued2018 good luck good tomorrow! Fingers crossed you have a good strong one to put back in. I had a massive drop off too which was a bit depressing but it really only does take one. 🤞

@Realitysucks it really is so early still. The average to get a bfp is 12dpo and for some it still takes longer. Try and distract yourself. Easier said than done I know!

Realitysucks · 24/02/2019 12:34

@bunnieboo91 I know you’re right, I just don’t know what to do if it doesn’t work this time.

bunnieboo91 · 24/02/2019 13:08

@Realitysucks @Boboelephant When I was pregnant the first time round I took a pregnancy test on the first day my period was meant to start and I got a BFN and took another test five days later and got my BFP. Sadly my pregnancy didn't work out for something I inherited but even I know patience is the key to this horrible cruel game we’re all in.

intrigued2018 · 25/02/2019 07:48

@Realitysucks - I hope you are feeling a little brighter today, this journey has so many ups and downs. A little cry now and then doesn't hurt anyone, I'd wait until at least 14dpo before testing a testing only will stress you more unnecessarily 😘

@bunnieboo91 - fingers and toes crossed for your test this morning and a BFP! X

PhoenixBird82 · 25/02/2019 08:48

@BunnieBoo91 Wishing you good luck and crossing my fingers for you today! Hope it will be a good news day for you! Flowers Bear
As for everyone else, wishing you a positive state of mind and stay strong ladies. Although I’m also not sure where to look for this extra strength anymore...
I am testing this Friday. Been busy all the weekend cleaning and arranging things after our move, so my mind and hands were occupied. This Progesterone tablets are a knocker though, I can barely read for 10 minutes in bed before my eyes start shutting down,

bunnieboo91 · 25/02/2019 09:16

@PhoenixBird82 @intrigued2018 Thanks ladies!

So I took two tests this morning and they both came out positive and I just cried constantly! I can't express how I am feeling because I have been battling this sadness for two years and after having a stillborn before I am petrified but excited at the same time! (I was born with a condition I didn’t know I had until I lost my baby so it won't happen to you!)

I rang the clinic and booked me in for a scan on the 20th March!

Does anyone know if they got back to your period for how many weeks you're gone in IVF world?

I hope we’ll start a winning streak now and get loads of BFP’s!

intrigued2018 · 25/02/2019 09:41

@bunnieboo91 - Amazing news!!! So pleased for you 😘😘😘😘 congratulations 🎉 I think they work your due date out from egg collection date - I know I've looked on google before and there are website you can put the date in and it works it out for you. Xxxx

Realitysucks · 25/02/2019 09:58

@intrigued2018 so was up at 4am as DH left to go skiing this week. Another negative test at 9dpo I’m not feeling it though. I know to be sure I have to wait till Saturday though as then will be 14dpo but feeling body is getting ready for AF 🙄. Not sure how I’m going to get through the week without DH.

@bunnieboo91 congratulations that’s brilliant news, am so pleased for you. Let’s hope that’s the start of a long week of BFPs! How many others are testing this week? @phoenixBird82 good luck for test on Friday !

intrigued2018 · 25/02/2019 10:24

@Realitysucks - maybe hold of testing for a few days as even naturally people wouldn't be seeing results at this stage! Try to keep positive, I know it's hard especially without DH to help keep you distracted. Have you got much planned to keep you busy? When is he back? Xxx
