Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs Smile.

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

Sending you a sunny hello, dear ladies! Hope you are all doing well and everything is good more or less...Flowers
I am a day 5 post transfer 3day embryos ( sorry can’t get around some of this abbreviations).
And what is worrying me that after my transfer I had a pretty intense time . I didn’t have any proper rest on the weekend as we were moving and I had to pack and lift things. And this week I had to run around a lot and lift even more heavy things at my work: boxes with books.
Does somebody know if it affects the implantation? This is really occupying me. I’ve tried to look up on internet but as always there’s no clear information.

Other than that, since my transfer I don’t have any symptoms- bigger breasts and bigger appetite because of progesterone, a burning sensation when peeing. But nothing else really.
I was so optimistic on the weekend, but as the time goes my hopes go downhill. I hope that someone has a chance to build a nest in me...Bear
Wishing you all good luck and trust in yourself and what you are doing... Flowers

Hey guys! I mostly read the thread than posting so sorry for lurking lol I am going insane with my TTW. I think IVF TWW is the worst than the natural way....... I think we could all agree with that!

@PhoenixxBird82 As long as you rested on ET day you can go back to your normal day to day life :) The research I've done says there isn't any evidence suggesting that resting and taking it easy the whole time increases the chances so please don't panic! This TTW is driving me insane.

@TheGlitterFairy I am also sorry your EC was canceled but it's for the best if next time you would get better chances hopefully? What's the next step for you?

@Realitysucks If ED would give you a better chance I would go for it! Hopefully, your next couple of cycles will work out with your own eggs though. Hang on in there! We knew this wasn't going to be easy. I am praying we're all blessed with good news!

PhoenixBird82 · 21/02/2019 12:16

@BunnieBoo91 Dear Bunnie, thank you for your reply. Somehow our group has gone a little bit silent lately. Probably everyone is preoccupied with their treatment and how it goes. It’s so difficult and I find myself all the time surrounded by babies and pregnant women.
Sending everyone good vibes and hopefully we all receive some good news soon!
I am at TWW now too, my 6th day now. I don’t have much symptoms, somehow a little pulling feeling in my stomach as if AF is around the door.
@BunnieBoo91 I know everyone says not to compare and that we are all different, but what day after transfer are you and do you have any symptoms?

bunnieboo91 · 21/02/2019 12:34

@PhoenixBird82 Hey! I'm on my 10th day after 5 day Blastocyst transfer and testing on Monday. I've had cramps everyday and they feel like AF but that's a very common thing so I'm not freaking out. TMI but had brown discharge (old blood so might be implantation bleeding)

What I will say is I was pregnant before (sadly didn't work out) and I had no symptoms at all so try your hardest not to get worked up because you're not feeling/seeing signs!

When do you test?

PhoenixBird82 · 21/02/2019 12:59

@ since my transfer I was on spasm relief tablets until yesterday night, so maybe that’s also a reason why I didn’t have any cramps. But nothing else at all, except for breasts that are became heavy because of all Progesterone.
I’ve got two embryos transferred on day 3. So hopefully they were brave and strong guys who will manage to get through all the obstacles.
I’ve got more than one week to wait, I test next Friday. Would have been nice to take a warm bath to relax, but I’ve read it’s not advisable...
Hiw are you coping with the wait, @BunnieBoo91? Wishing you a positive result! Flowers

Afternoon ladies! How are you all getting on? I’ve been reading all your previous posts and can relate to some as I’m like some of you, in the early stages too!

Been on bemfola almost a week now and introduced Cetrotide yesterday..had a couple of issues with the injections and wondering if anyone can relate / put my dramatic mind at ease 🙄 first injection on my own I completely fluffed it, lost some of the liquid before I injected due to nerves. And yesterday’s cetrotide was a bugger to pull out the vial when mixed together. I almost had a meltdown! Anyone got any advice? Really wished they had put me on the sprays 🙄 also, I’m on shift today and was swaying about taking bemfola injection into work but time I would take it it would probably be warm? So I’m having to take it an hr and a half later than usual when I get home? Not ideal!

Got another scan tomorrow morning so at worst am guessing they’ll extend my injections? Sorry for being such a riot!

I hope your all doing ok, thanks for sharing your posts they really do help! Good luck to you on the dreaded 2WW that must be cementing! Keeping my fingers crossed for you! And for the ladies who have had the disappointment of cancelled treatment I really hope it goes better for your next round. Big hugs to you all! Xox

bunnieboo91 · 21/02/2019 17:04

@PhoenixBird82 This tww is so frustrating and cannot wait to test! Even splashed out on Clearblue pregnancy tests ready for Monday Grin From previous posts people have said to keep busy so I am trying to have an active social life minus the drinking.

With two embryos did they mention the percentage for having twins? With my one blastocyst, they said there's only a 1.6% chance....and higher for two embryos.

@Scottish80 I wouldn't get too worked up on losing some of the liquid because I realised I was putting the wrong amount in for over a week and they just extended my injections for three days before EC. If your injections were extended it's better than canceling the whole thing. WIth getting the liquid from the vile I know it's a bitch! I just inserted the needle on a tilt and was able to get all the liquid.....don't panic! If you weren't able to get all of the liquid and had a drop or two left inside the vile it isn't a game changer believe me!

whatdoyouwantfromme · 21/02/2019 20:30

It's results day for me! Need all the positive thoughts I can get x x

Ginandtonic31 · 21/02/2019 21:03

@Scottish80 with your cetrotide once mixed in the vile tilt it on a table and just hold the string not the bottle. Put your needle into the corner of where the liquid is and you should be able to pull it all in. Don’t let go of the puppy bit, keep it pulled up otherwise it will go back in the bottle and pull the needle out. Once the pressure has gone you can let go of the pull out but a and change your needles etc. I will take a photo tomorrow of the angle I mean for the vile.

I have taken injections out before in a cooler bag and o too have a scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed for isn’t both.

intrigued2018 · 21/02/2019 22:02

@whatdoyouwantfromme - best of luck getting a BFP 😘 x

PhoenixBird82 · 21/02/2019 22:06

@BunnieBoo91 my social life at the moment is living in the middle of renovations, more precisely putting the new floors, after active participation in the moving process over the last weekend. Living in a castle of dust and moving boxes Wink
Yes, the doctor did warn me about the chance of having twins, but as I had only two embryos to start with, the only other option was to freeze one. So he said it will make my chances a little bit higher if we implanted two straightaway. And I don’t mind, as I don’t want to risk what was so hard to get from the beginning.
It’s my first round of IVF after 4 cycles of IUI. I have two cysts outside my uterus but the doctor affirmed me many times that they won’t prevent me from falling pregnant.
Surely, during the first ultrasound to see my follicles after the stimulation he said, he won’t be able to reach one of the ovaries because of them. So I was left with half of what I had. Who knows. My right side produced 3 follicles and two made it further.
I am doing my IVF in France, as I live here. The doctors don’t explain much the whole process, including the percentage and rates. The whole thing isn’t very personal. I don’t even know what grade my embryos were- the doctor only said that both of them were good. And according to internet, when there are not many embryos from the start they don’t wait until the blastocyst stage and implant two of them.
During the transfer it took him a while to see catheter on the ultrasound screen- again due to my cysts. For a short instant I thought he was going to call off the whole thing. It was scary.
Reading the posts here really helps, as at least I can read about the same experiences, relate to and talk with women in a similar situation and understand that it’s not only me who is going through all this, being, who knows why, infertile ....
Crossing my fingers, saying my prayers, and doing and thinking everything else that we all land on the sunny side with the most beautiful baby of them all soon....

PhoenixBird82 · 21/02/2019 22:08

@whatdoyouwantfromme Hope it is your lucky day today and the baby is there! Flowers

Scottish80 · 21/02/2019 22:48

@Ginantonic31 aw thank you! Yeah a pic would be amazing thanks! Good luck for your scan tomorrow! Hope all goes well for you! Will keep fingers crossed all good for you!
@Bunnieboo91 aw thanks! Am so glad we have pages like this so I know am not alone! Yeah, worst case scenario I have to do more days of drugs see what happens tomorrow. Good luck for Monday! I really hope you get your BFP! 😊
@whatdoyouwantfromme good luck!!

Ginandtonic31 · 21/02/2019 23:48

@scottish80 I justvhave to say sorry for all the typos in my last post. Auto correct! I hope you could understand what I meant to say rather than string (syringe) and puppy (pully)

Ginandtonic31 · 22/02/2019 07:55

@scottish80 this isn’t a great pic but hope you get what I mean. I then hold the main part of the syringe with one hand and draw up with the other. Gets every drop in. My worktop isn’t scratched by the way it’s the design 😂

@whatdoyouwantfromme - sending you massive hugs 😘 xxx

mimi27 · 22/02/2019 19:05

Hi ladies,

I'm not new to the forum but very quiet. Just muddling through all the downreg injections, stims and egg collection madness!

I was wondering if anyone developed OHSS after Egg retrieval/collection?? I had mine on Tuesday and went into hospital for a scan and they found free fluid around my ribs, liver, kidney area.

I'm in so much pain. Sneezing and yawning hurts me. Sleepless night due to trapped wind, bloating and swollen ovaries too.

Earlier on today The doctors said they my freeze my cycle but once they get all my blood work results and discussed it with the team, they would call me in the early evening to let me know what to do (stop taking cyclogest and progynova), but I've heard nothing back!

I am losing my mind over here! So uncomfortable and miserable, this part of IVF is really hard.

intrigued2018 · 22/02/2019 21:33

Hi @mimi27 - So sorry to hear your OHSS I hope you are okay it sounds awful! Thinking of you. A couple of the girls on here have had it previously so hopefully can give you some reassurance and advice, I was told to make sure I drink plenty of water so may help?! Are the clinic open tomorrow? Xxx

bunnieboo91 · 22/02/2019 21:47

@whatdoyouwantfromme You're keeping us all in suspense girl! What's the news? Grin

ginandtonicformeplease · 22/02/2019 23:49

@mimi27 I had a freeze all cycle due to OHSS. Absolute agony for the next few days, and I couldn't get back to the clinic for scans as I live quite a way away and couldn't manage the journey!

Coconut water and lucozade helped, I couldn't really eat anything. My stomach was so distended and bloated for well over a week. Just take it easy and make sure you keep hydrated - I think I just stopped taking the progynova, but the plan was always to freeze all so I'm not sure about the cyclogest I'm afraid. Hope you feel better soo. Thanks

mimi27 · 22/02/2019 23:58

Thank you for the advice @ginandtonicformeplease I am so worried, feel like I'm about to explode. I've been drinking electrolyte water as well as a Tom of water. Eating is near impossible, my husband has bought me some protein shakes and bars. How long did it take you to feel like yourself again? Also cyclogest is the progesterone to prepare the lining.

@intrigued2018 thank you so much. Us IVF ladies go through so much to have a baby. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, physically and emotionally. Just not sure what I'm doing as my clinic haven't called me back.

whatdoyouwantfromme · 23/02/2019 04:08

@bunnieboo91 - I posted down the thread. It failed.

intrigued2018 · 23/02/2019 08:25

@mimi27 - fingers crossed the clinic call you first thing today and hope you start feeling a little better! It is so hard this IVF journey, emotions go up and down! We will all get our dream its just as easy as other people xxx

Realitysucks · 23/02/2019 09:17

Hi ladies hope you are all well. So I’ve been a bit quiet as been testing out my trigger shot. I’m now 8 days past trigger and 7 days past ovulation. Got the first negative test yesterday and did a clear blue digital this morning which was also negative. Problem is I don’t fell any different at all. Am convinced it hasn’t worked and to add to it DH goes skiing Monday which will be 9dpo which is probably to early to get a positive result 😞
