Starting a new thread for all of us going through IVF/ICSI in January/February!

First round of ICSI for us. I’m on the last week of my birth control pill before starting Gonal F injections on the 18th Jan, with the hope of egg collection on the 30th and transfer on the 4th Feb! I’m egg sharing so have been on the pill a while to sync my cycle with the woman recovering half of my eggs .

Is anyone else at a simile stage?

Sorry for radio silence lately; I’ve managed to stay off the internet during the process but now on rollercoaster of 2ww. I’m now 8dp5dt and after being ecstatic after ET, I’m now more and more convinced this hasn’t worked... and I still have 5 days until test date.

DH keeps telling me to keep PMA but I find it really hard, especially as I have that crampy, heavy AF feeling. Is anyone else in their 2ww? And how do keep positive and hopeful mindset?

@whatdoyouwantfromme definitely very young grandparents!! I was today that I can test 2 weeks after EC so only 9dp5dt. Why do you need to wait to Friday?

@Bumblebee25 same for you. Wouldn't tomorrow be test day? Feeling like AF is coming can be a pregnancy symptom because of all the progesterone. Fx!

@intrigued2018 thanks for thinking of me. I did have my transfer today. It was a bit bittersweet as after having 13 top grade embryos at day 3 I only had one make it to good quality blastocyst so none to freeze which is a bit crap. But that little embie is safe in my uterus and I desperately hope will become my baby. 🤞🤞🤞

@boboelephant fingers crossed on your two week wait.

Welcome to the newbies. @scottish80 good luck with scratch. I had mine on 23rd Jan and needed an empty bladder. Make sure you take paracetamol and ibuprofen an hour before.

So had my trigger shot at 9am on Friday, we managed to BD at 3pm yesterday and 10am this morning so fingers crossed we had some swimmers waiting for egg release at 9pm on sat night or this morning to catch it. I’m now on tww, cervix is really tender not sure why but I don’t usually feel this tender!

@Bumblebee25 I am also in the TWW and so is@whatdoyouwantfromme sorry if I've missed anyone else out! Stay positive because people with intense cramps like AF still have BFP! I have another week and I am trying to avoid testing early

Well had my scan yesterday and all systems go now with bemfola injections for next few days then cetrotide injections thenafter.
Nurse was lovely, we done first injection together and went better than I expected. Last nights one not so well and don’t think I injected properly and lost some of the liquid..is that me out already? Really hope not! Also, I’ve just noticed I’ve put cetrotide in the fridge too! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Been giving myself a really hard time about it all day 😩 so useless at this already! 😥

@scottish80 I have just finished but a cycle ( well it was cancelled at day 10) I was on Bemfola for 4 days then Meriofert for the rest with Cetrotide in the mornings from day 5. I kept my cetrotide in fridge as I was told to so try not to worry. As for losing Some fluid, a bit always tends to seep out after injection there is actually more in the them than you need for that reason, so really don’t worry x

Oh thanks @realitysucks! It’s all a bit mind boggling this fertility caper! I’m stressed out already and only in the early stages haha!

@scottish80 I had 9 follicles on base scan, three at day 5 and two at day 10 one 19mm and one 12mm. We have paid for multicycle and each cycle is classed as egg collection so seemed pointless to go for maybe 1 egg. They gave me a trigger shot on Friday so we are trying naturally this month. They will do bloods on day one of my next cycle and check hormone levels before we try again. They have said it could just be a bad month. I was on max drugs of 450iu so they couldn’t increase them. It was disheartening but I’m trying to stay positive. DH has supersperm so hoping that helps 🤣🤣🤣 now waiting to test once trigger is out of my system. I’m a POAS nut so am testing every few days to when trigger is out of my system which I’m hoping is by Friday next week! Then any BFP is a really one after that !

Wow! @Realitysucks you certainly do know your stuff! And fair play to you for being realistic with not going ahead with the next stage..that must’ve been hard to take. Bless you! You sound like your strong and your optimism is really motivating you with the process! Good for you! Good luck and I hope your trigger shot disappears soon! And for the record, I’ve POAS so much lately I’m looking forward to a break from it for a couple of weeks 🤣 never thought in a million years this could all be so obsessive 🤦🏼‍♀️ Think my man is also glad of not being sent to the local supermarket for cheapy tests for a wee while too 🤣

@scottish80 seriously I knew nothing till I came on here! It was my first ever ivf. Some of the ladies on here have so much knowledge and will help you so don’t worry. We are all in it together ! I sent DH to sainsbury today to buy more 🤣🤣🤣 I did feel a bit obsessive when he asked isn’t the 8 in the bathroom cabinet enough 😬😬😬🤦‍♀️

Thanks @Realitysucks! Yeah since TTC for over 4 years I find these pages really helpful and reassuring..but loitered too long and couldn’t really post as I haven’t really been a part of the IVF group until now with all the waiting.
It’s funny how men are ok with buying the tests but avoid a trip for tampons? Or is it just my man who does that 🤣 got to find the humour in this somewhere 🤣

@Boboelephant - that's 10 days post transfer for me. The wait might be the death of me. Anyone in the 2ww thinking of PAOS or is everyone following clinic directions and waiting for bloods?

@Boboelephant - great news you had you ET yesterday, sounds like this one is a little fighter. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

@TheGlitterFairy - how did you get on with your scan yesterday?

@Scottish80 - don't give yourself a hard time it's an emotional journey and everything is new. I hope the injections get easier for you.

Had my scan this morning, all good for EC on Wednesday. Waiting for treatment calendar to get updated for trigger shot and procedure time. I'm feeling excited at the moment but think that's me trying to block out the nerves. I had 6 follicles above 18mm this morning, 5 at 16mm and another 5 around the 12/13mm mark. X

@intrigued2018 and @Scottish80 thanks for asking after me/ the scan yesterday - sadly not good news I'm afraid. The larger one that we had "collapsed" inbetween Friday and yesterday so we think it's ovulated; the other 2 were too small to do anything with so no EC for me and the cycle has been cancelled. Not good.
This was our 4th round and last one before looking at ED. We'll have a meeting with the consultant hopefully tomorrow and work out a way forward. Hugely disappointing doesn't really cover it but this round was always a long shot and at least we can take some comfort in that we've done all we possibly can do before moving to ED.

intrigued2018 great news about your scan this morning and that you have 6 above the 18 mark - Good luck for your collection on Wednesday - will be thinking of you. xx

I’m on 250 Gonal F and can’t feel anything happening at all. I’ve read about people saying they feel it after 3 days. I started on Friday night and not felt anything!

@Ginandtonic31 - I have been on 225ui and hardly felt anything so don't worry at all, during the scan on day 4 I felt a little tender but that's gone now. I have upped my fluids which is supposed to help. When is your first scan? Xx

@intrigued2018 I think I’m worried because last round I was on 150 and I went back after a week and absolutely nothing had happened! So this is a higher dose but worried the same thing will happen again. My scan is Friday so will have done 7 injections by then. I had a cracking headache this morning so I’ve upped my fluids too. Trying to get through 3 litres. I’m at almost 2 now and weeing constantly 😂

@Ginandtonic31 When I had EC last year I didn't really feel anything, was expecting to get all hormonal and moody - DH had braced himself for it - but apart from a slightly swollen stomach I was fine before EC. (After was a different story as I could hardly move due to OHSS.)

I went for yet another scan this morning and finally my lining seems to be behaving itself - 9.1mm now! The oestrogen patches have finally done the trick. FET scheduled for next Monday. Just need to get the day off work now. Starting progesterone pessaries on Wednesday - I remember how grim they are. Two twice a day.

Usually FETs are done between day 17-21 of a cycle: Monday will be day 25. I guess if AF appears as normal during 2WW at least I'll know sooner than waiting for the whole 2 weeks.

@Ginandtonic31 - could you push your clinic to do an early scan? I had my first scan at day 4 to check how everything was going. Every clinic is different though.

@ginandtonicformeplease - great news about your lining! Glad the patches have done the job. Best of luck with ET next week, do you have to go for regular scans still? I was the same bracing DH for hormone attacks but so far they haven't appeared 😀 the progesterone pessaries are lovely - I had them last year for ovulation induction and that was once per day. Xxx

@intrigued2018 I don’t think there’s much point as they wouldn’t change anything just yet anyway but regardless I don’t think they would do an early one even as I asked as they are reluctant to make too many changes. Just got to have trust that this bigger dose will work.

@Ginandtonic31 - it just feels a continual waiting game. Fingers crossed all if progressing well. Good luck with for Friday x

@introgued2018 I just wish my ovaries would give me some kind of sign to say hey it’s working!!

@TheGlitterFairy Im sorry EC was cancelled. I was devastated to be stopped mid cycle but now am just tying to stay positive. We too have discussed ED I’m going to give it three more goes and if nothing happens move to ED.
