Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

@jemimafuddleduck good luck and hope you get your BFP at the end of it! Fingers crossed!
@Guio and @LillyLeaf , hope the cramps pass soon! Try to stay positive!
@Wesstywoo how are you feeling?

Wesstywoo · 23/12/2018 08:39

Had my first negative test this morning - absolutely gutted but at the same time glad that the torture of bleeding and still having positive results is over. It was my first ever BFP so will take comfort from the fact that it did actually implant. I have one frozen embie so will ask to have FET as soon as I can.

I'm going to step away from the thread now (will be back on these boards when I have FET!). I wish you all the absolute best of luck - you've been a great source of support as no one other than DH knows about our journey.

Take care ladies xxx

LillyLeaf · 23/12/2018 08:45

@Wesstywoo I'm so sorry, look after yourself.

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 08:59

@Wesstywoo , so sorry to hear this. Take care xx

Russkispy · 23/12/2018 09:37

@Wesstywoo I'm sorry to hear this! Look after yourself!
I've decided to start IVF in January cycle after all. So will be ordering my meds after Christmas.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Guio · 23/12/2018 09:49

@Wesstywoo sorry to hear that.Look after yourself and hope 2019 is your year.

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 12:26

Just found out none of the other embryos were suitable for freezing. Which makes me feel really negative - especially as the clinic recommended transferring 2 rather than 1 - they said at the beginning that they would only do that if they weren't great quality.
So I've gone from having 5 top grade embryos to 2 sub standard ones and no back up if they don't work.
Feeling very 😭 today.

LillyLeaf · 23/12/2018 13:50

@jemimafuddleduck I'm sorry, I know that must feel like a lot of pressure on this cycle not. Try to focus on this cycle and the 2 little embryos on board.

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 14:08

Thanks @LillyLeaf x

I’ve had brown blood (just when wiping, nothing on the pantry liner I’m wearing for the pessarys) for the last 2 days and I’m so disappointed ☹️

Took a test this morning, which was BFN, so now I’m just assuming it’s all over.

I’m 8dp5dt now, and can’t believe I have to keep using the pessarys & taking other drugs until my otd on the 28th when it feels like it’s all gone wrong.

Anyone has this much bleeding and ended up with a positive?

Had family round for a meal today, and found it so hard chatting with my cousin who is 16 weeks 😭

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 22:51

Oh @Cantrip it's not over til it's over, but I can totally understand how you're feeling. There's till time though. Desperately hope it works out for you. Xx

Beetroot01 · 25/12/2018 19:50

Merry Christmas everyone xxx

Cantrip · 25/12/2018 20:03

Merry Christmas 🎄

Guio · 25/12/2018 23:09

Happy Christmas!🎄🎁

rosea19 · 26/12/2018 08:15

Did my test this morning and it's a BFN. Quite gutted but may try again abroad in a few months (once we've saved up again!). If not, may just leave it be as we have a 4 year old, so are luckier than most. Good luck everyone who still has to test.

jemimafuddleduck · 26/12/2018 08:56

Oh @rosea19 I'm so sorry. There's nothing like the heartache of this process is there ❤️

Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas Day though.

I felt quite low yesterday- I think because I came off the pill this time last year and naively thought we'd have a newborn this Christmas. Oh how wrong I was.

I'm currently 4dpt. Had minor cramping for the first 2 days but nothing really yesterday other than bloating and a sore throat. I still feel bloated today (although that's probably down to eating ALL THE CHEESE) and still have a sore throat - never heard of that as a symptom before though so maybe it's just a sore throat!!

Beetroot01 · 26/12/2018 16:36

So sorry to hear @rosea19 xxx
@jemimafuddleduck it is normal to have cramps, it's from implantation and progesterone xxx

jemimafuddleduck · 26/12/2018 17:08

Thanks @Beetroot01 - I'm really hoping it was implantation cramps! It was only on true first 2 days, and was quite mild. Gone now.

Cantrip · 28/12/2018 11:25

Today was OTD. Disappointed to get a negative, but hardly surprising as I’ve been bleeding for 7 days.
Consultant is phoning me at 3pm for a review. Does anyone know how soon after a failed fresh Cycle I’m likely to be able to do a frozen transfer?
Very aware of time passing, and I’m not young to begin with!

StillLikeAirIRise · 28/12/2018 13:08

Hi @Cantrip, really sorry to hear about the negative, it's painful regardless of whether you expect it or not and it's really hard to not feel defeated.

After a fresh transfer I waited a natural cycle before having the FET, so I got the negative result on the 23rd September and started the medication for the FET on the 27th October with my next bleed.

You can start again from the withdrawal bleed, although I'm not sure how that would work if you're already bleeding - maybe someone else knows that?

I then got a negative from that FET on the 28th November and started the next FET on the 1st Dec on the withdrawal bleed.

I'm not sure if it's ideal to stack them like this as it's tiring and has meant I've been on IVF medication for months and months but having the next one planned has meant I've coped with the negative results I think. I'm so blase this time I've been worrying I'll forget to take the medication as I've genuinely pretty much forgotten that I'm in the TWW which is a very sharp contrast to the first transfer especially! I hope you get the result you want soon, and look after yourself in the meantime

Cantrip · 28/12/2018 13:25

Thanks for the advice @StillLikeAirIRise - my wanting to start again soon is mainly informed by the fact that fertility is often higher immediately following a miscarriage, and I have personal experience of that, having conceived my eldest daughter scarcely a week after miscarrying back in 2003.
Hoping the bleeding for this one will stop soon though, as I’m starting to feel pretty weak! Hadn’t remembered my previous miscarriage lasting so long, but I suppose 15+ years may have blurred my memory.

StillLikeAirIRise · 28/12/2018 13:37

Hi @Cantrip I'm sorry, my experience is just of negative results from IVF on the test day so I'm not sure if it's different if you're having a miscarriage from IVF, that'll teach me to respond without keeping up with a thread. I'm sure your call with the consultant will be better then me as my experience is also NHS care rather than private so you may have different options. I hope you stop bleeding and feel better soon

Cantrip · 28/12/2018 13:40

@StillLikeAirIRise - Thank you x

LillyLeaf · 29/12/2018 22:14

Pretty much stayed off MN over Christmas in an attempt to take my mind off things, not that this helped. I've been googling everything a 100 times a day (and night). My 6 weeks scan is on Thursday and I'm obviously fearing the worse. Hope everyone is getting on ok.

Beetroot01 · 30/12/2018 09:06

@Lillyleaf I am the same, I don't have much symptoms exept sore/tender beast. My 7 week scan is on 9th January. I am taking it day by day.
