November/December IVF/ICSI/FET

Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

@stoneme Oh that’s not too bad! I cried on my first one too, I know exactly what you mean. It just doesn’t seem fair does it. And although I know there are so many others, sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who has to do this. Joining here really helps! x

Ooft, this may be TMI but is anyone else finding the meds playing havoc with their bowels? Mine are all over the place at the moment. Had to get up during the night for s number 2 which is unheard of! Not sure if it's just a coincidence!

@StoneMe similar for me ;) also I am glad that my DH is working oposite shift because I am very moody from buserelin.

I am all over the place too, must be the drugs. I’m the other way though, all bunged up which is making my whole stomach area sore because I’m still a bit tender from EC.

How's everyone getting on? 4 more days on the norethindrone for me then I should expect a bleed around 22nd. Does anyone know what days you would expect to be scanned? I have to tell the clinic when I start bleeding then have a baseline scan but not sure how often after that.

I had a crazy dream where I had to announce to my work colleagues that I was infertile! I suppose that's how I feel right now... Infertile

@LillyLeaf I finished nothisterone on Wednesday - just waiting for AF to arrive and assuming she's here by Monday I have my baseline scan on Tuesday with a view to starting menopur on Tuesday evening

@LillyLeaf and assuming all is well the next scan will be 28 Nov so 8 days later. So glad to have this board, no one other than DH knows about our journey and it's good to have somewhere to talk!

@Lillyleaf I had my baseline scan on day 3 of my cycle, started injections that evening. Then I had a scan 9 days later, which was when they said I was nearly ready, and they scheduled EC 3 days later. I suppose every clinic (and body) is different though.

Last I heard (yesterday morning) 5 of my 6 embryos are still going strong. One got to 4 cells and stopped growing. My transfer is tomorrow!

@LillyLeaf forget that dream we are not infertile, we having trouble getting pregnant.
Who else is on buserelin? I have headache for a week and also I have brown spotting 3 days after period Is this normal?

@Wesstywoo @CautiousOptimist thanks, I ideally need to start bleeding on the 22nd, then have a scan 23rd because I have an thing next weekend and it would really be annoying if I had to go to the scan then, but obviously my body will do as it pleases.

@Beetroot01 I know the dream is ridiculous, we haven't told anyone what we're doing so I think it came from that. Also a girl at work keeps going on about her friend who has just had a baby and also points out pregnant people at work and saying how cute her bump is, she's driving me mad, I really want to ask her to stop but I don't want anyone knowing what's going on .

@LillyLeaf I know that it is very hard road we have to go. All these questions when? Why are you waiting? etc. They are driving me mad.
Also buserelin (I think) drives me mad as I wanted to cry this morning with no reason or all these milion reasons lol

Please can I jump on this thread too? My period started today so I will be starting Menopur on Sunday. First cycle of IVF and I'm very nervous! I am on short protocol so they reckon EC end of the month. It will be nice to share the experience with others as I don't know anyone that's had IVF.

Welcome on board Cariad82. It was completely new to me too but, if it’s any consolation, I didn’t find the injections bad at all. The needle is so fine you really can hardly feel it, just a slight sting when you push the liquid in. Good luck!

Hello, I am in day 3 of buserelin and I can feel the period is about to come.I didn't expect it that early!I stopped the pill on Tuesday. I find the injections painless and not sure if it is too early but I feel quite depressed,blame the hormones 😒

I was the same on Buserlin, one night I sat at the top of the stairs and cried for no particular reason! My poor husband didn’t know what to do 🙈
I think I kind of got used to it, it’s been 5 weeks now, booked in for egg collection on Monday!

@Beeflower22 5 weeks in buserelin seems a long time.Did you have it as part of your stimulation as well? @Beetroot01 it is shit I hope your mood improves soon,when do you start stimming?

@guio Yeah, I’ve been doing that in the morning, and the menopur in the evenings since Tuesday with my trigger one being on Saturday. It wasn’t supposed to be this long, but one of my appointments got messed up so it put us back a week! I was gutted at the time but we’re back on track now!

Hello, I have a little bit of a problem.I opened by mistake the second bottle of buserelin and I read afterwards that it has to be used between 15 days.this means that both are open and I have 18 days more to go. Anyone with the same issue? I will probably need to contact the clinic on Monday...

I've woken up with a cold, I've got about 5 days to get rid of it before I start stims, very annoying. I've also realized this is the worst time of year to do IVF due to all the colds going around and all the Christmas parties. I'm not much of a drinker but I would usually have 1 or 2 on a work night out but I'll somehow avoid it. I might not go to some of them.

@Guio maybe check with your clinic but I thought if you haven't put a needle in it it's not open, not sure. I also thought it was 30 days? I had to get a new bottle as I used one shot before.

@CautiousOptimist good luck with your transfer.

@LillyLeaf unfortunately I put the neddle in and used as I didn't know about the 15 days after I finish the injection,silly me!I hope it is not a problem but I will check.I hate this time of the year, specially living far away from family and thinking about the outcome of this process that will be near Christmas,trying to be positive though.
