Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

Oh Jemima I'm so sorry. Flowers

jemimafuddleduck · 02/01/2019 21:00

Thanks all for your kind messages.
The clinic have told me to keep taking the meds and test again Friday- I don't really see the point but whatever, I'll do it.
I've spoken (or rather, cried at!) the doctor tho afternoon and she's put us back on the waiting list for donor eggs. So how's it's a case of waiting again (and saving up!).
It's so shit.

womaninkent · 02/01/2019 21:54

@jemimafuddleduck i’m sure the doctors are used to it and totally understand! Wishing you luck with the donor list. X

womaninkent · 02/01/2019 21:58

@intruiged2018 Hi and welcome! My moods have been ok so far but I’m only on the buserelin at the moment. Also that’s only my impression-I haven’t asked my husband if he agrees!!

Positivity86 · 02/01/2019 22:16

Hello @intrigued2018. Good luck on your journey! I'm on day 6 of buserelin and so far I've not had any side effects...I know that could change though! The injections are quick and easy now I've got over the first one.

@jemimafuddleduck the waiting does suck but planning next steps is a good focus...it will all be worth it in the end x

Vikkid2007 · 03/01/2019 06:34

I'm on day 7 of stims and my moods have been fine. Just a bit of aching inside. Hoping that's a good sign and my ovaries are doing what they are meant to be doing. Have scan this morning.

intrigued2018 · 03/01/2019 09:08

Thanks all, hopefully it won't impact my moods. It's looking like we will be moving when on buserelin so stress levels will be high anyway. Good luck to everyone on the journey also and hope you get good news!

@Vikkid2007 - good luck with your scan this morning x

jemimafuddleduck · 03/01/2019 09:58

I'm going to step back from this thread now. Wishing you all lots of luck in this process x

CornishMaid1 · 03/01/2019 11:58

I have my dates and am just waiting for my meds to arrive now.

Down regging starts on 15th January, injections should start around 28th January and egg collection will be in the week of 11th February if all goes to plan.

I am not looking forward to the injection part (I am down regging with noresthisterone tablets so that isn't too bad), but my mum is a nurse so has been roped in to give the injections.

Vikkid2007 · 03/01/2019 12:00

Thank you. Scan went well have 10 good sized eggs and 8 smaller ones

womaninkent · 03/01/2019 14:13

@vikkid2007 that sounds like great news!

@cornishmaid1 Great news that you are getting going soon. I haven't found doing the injections too bad. I almost prefer giving myself the injections than going to the doctors for them because you're in control (that may say something about me!).

Positivity86 · 03/01/2019 16:13

@jemimafuddleduck best of luck to you x

@Vikkid2007 great numbers...you must be pleased!

@CornishMaid1 exciting times. The injections really aren't too bad. You quickly get used to them!

Rememberallball · 03/01/2019 17:51

The bit I don’t like are the clexane injectionsbecause they sting and bruise like buggery!!

womaninkent · 03/01/2019 22:47

@rememberallball not looking forward to those injections then. Just have to live in hope it will be worth it eventually.

Nordicmom · 04/01/2019 18:54

Hi All! Mind if I join?! I’m on day 4 of Buserelin trying for DC3 it’s been over 7 y! since last IVF to have our DD who’s about 6 1/2 but that was doing gs ( gestational surrogacy ) in the US . Our DS nearly 14y was just natural . Last two cycles I was on short protocol so this Buserelin is new to me . Hoping to avoid worst side affects but expecting to get some I’m sure . Last two times I was fine with the stim ones . I have a chronic illness and feel often quite s... anyway so maybe it’s partly because of that 🙄. I’m 43 and have a history of many mc so this is me giving it a good bash this year and or next .I’m thinking at most 3/4 cycles and then I’ll have to be able to move on . I’m very grateful for the kids I already have but I have never been able to get over my losses and the fact I couldn’t carry DD myself so I feel like I need to try . I’m just going out so haven’t managed to read through yet but I will . Good luck to everyone !

brighteye3986 · 05/01/2019 08:32

THIS IS IT! CD21 meaning Buserelin injections started today. Now the first one is over and done with I feel a little more at ease for the rest going forward. Still feel a little scared/ excited for the whole process though.

Well done @brighteye3986 😊

Welcome @Nordicmom and best of luck with your journey!

Nordicmom · 05/01/2019 10:56

Thanks Positivity86 and we’ll done on the first shot brighteye . I remember how nervous I was when I started with the first round ever with my daughter all those years ago ! I have to admit DH is my nurse and I have never done any of the injections myself I’m a bit squeamish about the needles even after all these years of being ill and having had a lot of them . In fact he’s today driving back and forth from his mom where he and kids are to give me today’s injection ...

brighteye3986 · 05/01/2019 11:24

Thanks @Nordicmom and @Positivity86

@Nordicmom DH was there for me this morning incase I couldn't do it but he does shift work so isn't always able to be here or get home easily so it's best I can do it myself. Although I did set myself an early alarm for a Saturday morning so I can administer them at the same time everyday whether I'm at work or not!

First Menopur 300 shot last night, 1st scan coming up on Thurs. It stung for the first time last night, dunno if it's something to do with increasing the dose from 225 but it's still sore and red today.

Had acupuncture this morning and just about to go for a next shoulder and back massage.

Have bought in lots of fertile friendly foods this morning. Bring on EC!! 🥚🥚🥚🥚

mimi27 · 05/01/2019 23:33

Hi @CornishMaid1 ! I'm in a similar boat to you. Me and my DH have been trying for almost 3 years and my downreg is due to start on the 17th January and injections around the 26th January. We suffer from Male subfertility, he has low sperm morphology. It's been a sad few years of BFN's and evap lines. I'm scared but excited to start my first cycle of IVF. Everyone keeps telling me to have hope but not too much hope, be positive but realistic. I'm also a teacher so I don't know how I'll manage with the workload.

Wish me luck! Wishing everyone BFP's for 2019!

Boboelephant · 06/01/2019 14:33

Hi everyone. I took a break from MN over Christmas but it's all starting to feel more real now. I start down regulation on Friday. I'm on the nafarelin nasal spray so not sure how that will be. I'm hopeful it doesn't delay my period so I can crack on with the stims soon after. @Cornishmaid1 and @Mimi27 I think we're all going to be pretty close.

@vikkid2007 that sounds like a good number. Fingers crossed!

Exciting times for @Brighteye3986, @FingersXssd83, @Nordicmom, @Positivity86 and @womaninkent

I hope there is lots of good news soon.

CornishMaid1 · 06/01/2019 15:33

Hi everyone.

Yes @mimi27 we are really close on dates. I do wonder how I'll manage with work at the same time as well as I'm a solicitor so the workload won't stop for me either and if I take longer to get to EC then I may not be able to take any time off to recover either.

Positivity86 · 06/01/2019 19:51

@Boboelephant welcome back & best of luck 😊 Just to reassure you, buserelin didn't really delay my period but I was worried it might after reading some stories! I usually have a 28 day cycle and it arrived first thing on day 29 (yesterday). Next step is my down reg scan.

Good luck also @FingersXssd83 and @mimi27

brighteye3986 · 06/01/2019 20:05

@Positivity86 that's a good thing to hear for me too. My cycles can vary and more recently have been anything from 28-34 days. I'm hoping buserelin won't cause me too many delays. I feel like me body is already feeling the effects a little so fingers crossed I will have a 28/29 day cycle.... let's wait and see
