Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

Went for my update scan today... my left ovary is full and various sizes from 6.4 to 14.2! Right ovary not so many... still around the 11 mark. Back on Friday for my next scan but think they might move EC to next Wednesday instead of Monday... feel a little bit annoyed that everything keeps moving but I obviously want everything to be at the right sizes etc for our best possible chance of success... it's just a bit disheartening.....

Hope everyone else is doing well

brighteye3986 Glad the scan went okay and you have a lovely lot of follicles growing away. It is annoying when they want to change dates - makes it much more difficult to change things around with work - but it will be worth it if it means having more large follicles.

You may find that you go on Friday though and they change it back again!

Thanks @CornishMaid1 Luckily my work are actually fine about it and are flexible in me changing days off etc but DH not so much. He has already tried to book next week off about 2-3 weeks ago and they have told him he can't have it. He has managed to get Monday, Tuesday and Friday off but was told he couldn't have Wednesday or Thursday so it's causing a bit of a conundrum..... the hospital called me this afternoon to advise me to carry on with meds etc and they will see me Friday. I tried to find out a bit more but they weren't giving too much away and said the same thing. They said they would be able to advise more on Friday.

@brighteye3986 what a nuisance. They refused to say for sure when my egg collection would be until last thing on the Friday before.

It’s my OTD today. I’m in the middle of a very busy and difficult week at work so i’ve decided to wait until the end of the week. I don’t think I could cope with the disappointment/excitement and then do a full day’s work. Roll on Friday!

brighteye3986 · 06/02/2019 18:38

@womaninkent I don't think I'd be able to wait!!! I know what you mean though with work etc.

Which consultant were you under at Chelsfield? I had a different person scan me today and it just seemed that the numbers they were giving were lower than Monday's which I am also struggling to understand.

DH keeps laughing at me as I'm more stressed about what day things are happening than the whole process but I think it's because his work aren't as giving as mine. Oh well only 1 more day to get through and then I will know what's going on.

@brighteye3986 I was under Miss Hanna. I had something very similar with the scans. I had one person do the scan on the Monday and all was fine and going well. I had someone different on the Wednesday and they found loads of eggs, everyone was very worried I was over-stimulated and it looked like I was doing an all frozen cycle. Then by Friday they did another scan and the number of eggs was normal again. They pretty much said that the person on Wednesday had just gone wrong.

Plus every time I went home my OH was asking me to definitely confirm when egg collection was going to be and yet the clinic were refusing to confirm it to me. Fun times!

Just have to hope it is all worth it in the end!

brighteye3986 · 06/02/2019 19:17

@womaninkent oh I can relate to that! DH is constantly asking me and doesn't believe me when I tell I don't know!! I'm under Miss Hanna too. Did you have a man do the scan on the Wednesday and then nurses every other time??

OP posts:
womaninkent · 06/02/2019 19:27

@brighteye3986 Yes very similar, I had a nurse on Monday, a man (a doctor I think) on Wednesday and then a female doctor on Friday.

brighteye3986 · 06/02/2019 19:30

@womaninkent that makes me feel better. Fingers crossed for Friday now and the hope that EC is Monday!

Egg collection done. Needle was unpleasant and I am uncomfortable but was easy enough! 17 eggs collected. Not bad.
Needed two samples from hubby, apparently what few good swimmers he has are clumping. Which lowers our chances of fertilisation by about 30% but fingers crossed we have enough eggs to still get a few good ones.

Get more answers tomorrow. Fingers crossed most are mature and we can find one or two decent swimmers.

Anyone one else have any experience with such lower count and well everything... haha.

brighteye3986 · 07/02/2019 20:18

Hope you are feeling ok @Ginger951 and getting some rest.

I'm really hoping the hospital books my egg collection for Monday.... my boobs are so heavy and sore. They are normally painful near ovulation but oh my god this takes it to another level. I can't even walk up and down the stairs without holding them as they hurt that much. If it carries on much longer I think it's gonna make me cry.

Ginger glad it went okay, Ginger. Fingers crossed for lots of mature eggs!

Bright my boobs were hell prior to egg collection. DH have me a cuddle one morning and I yelped with pain!

FET consultation booked in for end of Feb with a view to do the FET on the period after next which should be end of March if my periods play ball!

Positivity86 · 07/02/2019 21:51

Glad it went ok today @Ginger951
