Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

I’m sorry brighteye , it’ll come I’m sure and you will get through this ! One day at a time .

Positivity86 · 15/01/2019 12:17

@brighteye3986 sorry to hear you're feeling down. A good cry will help, it's always better out than in! I'm sure AF will come very soon but I know how horrid the waiting is when you just want to get to the next step. Take care x

Rememberallball · 15/01/2019 12:39

Sorry for asking, @Nordicmom, how old are you? I’m sure I’m probably the oldest of us on this group.

We have said we’ll give it one more try if this one doesn’t work - and then I think well, if we have 6-8 Frosties in Cyprus, we could keep trying with them!!

brighteye3986 · 15/01/2019 14:29

Thank you everyone for your support. That along with DH has made me feel a bit better. Luckily my work have allowed me to work from home this afternoon so hopefully that will relax me a little bit more too. And I will probably get more done than I would working in the office.

I’m 43 rememberallball . I was 35/36 when I last did this to have my daughter but we did gestational surrogacy in the US so I have the problems I had with unexplained mc plus the age not on my side . Second cycle with surrogate worked with having my DD . DS was normal pregnancy I didn’t need help with when I was 28 ...
Back then they gave me about 35% chance per cycle now they’re saying 15%. So not great but not impossible . I’m resigned to doing several cycles but also doubting it’ll work even then . I’m greatful for what I have definitely but can’t move past this without giving it a go.

Nordicmom · 15/01/2019 15:14

I had a nice if brief lunch with DH and had a lovely sparkly manicure to cheer me up before it next I will have a nap since DD is at the after school club . I’m trying to look after myself more when I can and since I’m dead tired all the time that inc mainly sleeping ... anyone been very tired ?

Justwaitingforaline · 15/01/2019 17:08

Baseline scan has been moved from Friday to tomorrow! I took my last pill yesterday as planned, you’re meant to start bleeding 2-3 days after but lo and behold, it’s started this afternoon. I think this probably means we’re going to be bumped along and starting injections tomorrow Shock

Rememberallball · 15/01/2019 19:08

Evening from Cyprus. Thanks for revealing your age @Nordicmom. I am 47 and, if successful on this cycle will be due about 10 weeks before my 48th birthday!!

We are being collected from the hotel tomorrow morning a time 10am (8am UK time) to go to the clinic for 11am and embryo transfer has been scheduled for 12pm. IIRC from last time we came, we were at the clinic for about 3 hours after the transfer - 1 hour lying down immediately post transfer then another couple waiting for bits and pieces, for the consultant to come and see me again and then complete all the discharge paperwork. We are going to ask them about whether we will be having a blood test before we fly home next week - especially as, because we are using donor eggs, we don’t have a trigger shot so wouldn’t have any HCG in my blood stream except from a trophoblast!! And, reading up on some evidence from the US, it can be detected from as early as day 6-7 post 5dt!!

Nordicmom · 15/01/2019 21:12

You are then a bit older than me Rememberallball but i’m using my own eggs so you have better than chances than me !

CornishMaid1 · 16/01/2019 10:31

Good luck today @Rememberallball

Rememberallball · 16/01/2019 10:42

THank you @CornishMaid1. 4 embryos have survived to day 5 and they are transferring 2 and freezing 2. DH was told his sample was 80% immobile this time round whereas, almost 2 years ago when he had his SA done they were 90% motile. We may look at getting the SA done again if we need to go down this route again!,

womaninkent · 16/01/2019 10:55

@rememberallball great news! Good luck.

Positivity86 · 16/01/2019 13:25

@Rememberallball great news, hope all goes well! X

Rememberallball · 16/01/2019 14:57

Thank you ladies. We are now back at the hotel ‘resting’ in our room - in reality, I resting DH is trying to fix my iPhone as, since we left the clinic, it has stopped working and is in a constant cycle of switching on and off. He knocked it off the sofa in the room onto the floor and, although it was only a short distance (1-1.5 ft) he may have damaged it!!

Thankfully he’s quite a techy geek so is having a go at fixing it before we admit defeat and try getting it sorted at the Apple store in Plymouth once we’re home!! If he can’t fix it, he’s going to put my SIM in his phone!!

Nordicmom · 16/01/2019 16:20

Good luck Rememberallball!
I’ve had my baseline scan and starting Menopure tonight . Still couldn’t do my pre assessment for egg collection they were too busy so next week wed morning when I’m back for a scan again ...

Positivity86 · 16/01/2019 16:33

@Nordicmom I am also starting Menopur tonight! Had my down reg scan yesterday and all looking good. Good luck!

Nordicmom · 16/01/2019 16:59

Also turns out I’m not immune to rubella anymore unlike when I had DS. If I wasn’t on steroids I’d go get the vaccination but it’s a live one so I’m not sure I can have it . The advice isn’t clear if I’m immune suppressed enough to not be able to take live vaccines . The risk of getting it is tiny according to the nurse and I can ask to be tested in pregnancy if I’m that lucky .

Nordicmom · 16/01/2019 17:01

Let’s toast to Menopure then ! Last time I was on it and Gonal F so I was asking today why and wonder if the US clinic was being more aggressive than this one ... Good luck to you too Positivity !

Vikkid2007 · 16/01/2019 17:10

@Rememberallball good news. Hope you are resting up well. Now just the 2 week wait! X

Justwaitingforaline · 16/01/2019 17:55

ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Baseline scan went well. Instructed to start injecting today with 250iu of Gonal-F adding in the cetrocide on Sunday! First injection went well, didn’t even really feel it but I’m having some very strange twinges and I suspect my jeans will probably fit for about 4 days before the bloat takes over....

Positivity86 · 16/01/2019 18:15

@Justwaitingforaline great news! So a few of us all starting stims today 😊 I'm not looking forward the bloat but needs must!

brighteye3986 · 16/01/2019 19:44

Lots of great new going on today it seems. I'm still waiting for AF to show up. Doesn't look like it's going to turn up anytime soon. I've got a bit of back ache but other than that nothing else. Really thought it was going to show last night but nope.

Good luck to everyone moving on to their next stage

Nordicmom · 16/01/2019 20:46

Brighteye I felt just like you and hurrah on day 8 on Buserelin so I’m
Sure you’ll get there !
I’m not looking forward to the headaches they warned about I’m having some anyway . I didn’t get too bloated last time since only will have a few eggs on each side but I’m prepared for the next month to be crappy and will just try to sleep through it as much as I can 😉.

Nordicmom · 16/01/2019 21:25

I did the first Menopure shot earlier and I’m
definitely getting into the more hurty bit apparently . I’ve always found the more shots I’ve had the more they hurt and less I can stand them . Will just have to think that I’m lucky not to have to do them otherwise ...

Vikkid2007 · 16/01/2019 21:30

I found holding an ice cube over the area before injecting helped! I was really lucky, no bloating (despite 14 eggs)or headaches. I was just feeling sick the 2 days before egg collection. So I took those 2 days off work sick to chill out.

We found out yesterday that after leaving our blastocysts to day 6 they managed to get an extra 3 for freezing so we have 6 frosties in the bank!
