Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Thanks guys - it is feeling a lot better today so far, but starting to ramp up again over the past hour or so. I don’t think it could be OHSS with only 12 eggs collected and also had no issues after EC - these symptoms only started 4dp5dt and seem to be easing today 8dp5dt. At least I can walk and bend over today - been waddling around like a duck for three days 😁

Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

Peanut1980 · 17/10/2018 14:58

Pleased you’re feeling a bit more comfortable today @crittertamer. Take it easy and look after yourself 😘 x

CritterTamer · 17/10/2018 15:32

Thanks @Peanut1980 - I spoke to soon as it’s now back with a vengeance - just hung some washing on the line to dry and was then so out of breath and sore I had to lie down. I look 4 - 5 months pg and the horrible nausea is back. Pain isn’t quite as bad as the last 3 days though. Been doing some reading and it does seem to be all the symptoms of mild OHSS but I thought that only happened when 20+ eggs were collected, and right after EC not 2 weeks later? So weird 😒

How are you doing - any symptoms yet?

Peanut1980 · 17/10/2018 15:46

I’m so sorry to hear that @crittertamer. What did the clinic say yesterday other than drink lots of fluid? Did they say you were to call them back if it gets worse? Symptoms sound awful. I really hope you feel better soon.

No further symptoms here. Spotting seems to be coming to an end. OTD tomorrow and I’m just not feeling overly confident. I can’t help but think were the Frers I bought all dodgy and are they showing a false positive or is it a false positive because of the trigger injection 🙈🙈🙈 I’m worried I’ll do the test they gave me and it will be negative and it will all be over. Oh jeez I’d just like to switch my head off for a bit. I know I’m going to have a rubbish nights sleep tonight as won’t be able to stop thinking about testing in the morning 🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞

CritterTamer · 17/10/2018 16:03

APeanut1980 I know you’ll keep worrying anyway but there’s really no need - there’s no way the trigger shot would have produced those tests after 14 days, and there’s no way you would have got 2 false positives - you’re going to be fine 😊

Yes clinic-said to call again if it got worse - will see how I feel tomorrow but it is definitely not as bad as it has been so hopefully will be ok - realised I didn’t drink much this morning as was so busy at work so maybe that’s why it came back!

ParksAndRecreation · 17/10/2018 21:17

Evening everyone!

@peanut1980 - fingers crossed for you and your test tomorrow!
@crittertamer - sheesh! I hope you’re feeling better!!

Still no EC for me...so I’m having yet another scan on Friday morning and then (fingers crossed) triggering Saturday for an EC on Monday.

I can’t take the limbo of it for much longer - oddly find this part harder than jabbing myself in the belly 3 times a day...

Lead follicle is 21mm, the next 19mm, then 3 at 17mm, then a 12mm, 10mm and blah blah. Think they want to push the 3 17mm’s over the line and see if the 12 can get to a collectible size. I trust they know what they’re doing but OMFG I just want to know where I am for the next few days!

LopeyLopez · 17/10/2018 22:05

Best of luck for official test day tomorrow @Peanut1980 🍀🍀🍀

@ParksAndRecreation we should be on the same schedule then as I am due for EC on Monday. Saying that, I haven't had any scans or bloods done yet (my clinic only does one scan, day 9, and no bloods....!) so that's assuming everything goes to plan. Last time it was like clockwork and so I am hoping for more of the same this time, but with hopefully better quality eggs! Good luck for your trigger shot at the weekend...not long to go for us now!

LopeyLopez · 17/10/2018 22:08

@CritterTamer good luck and sorry about the bloating and pain. Actually your post reminded me about the one and only time I have been pregnant, when I had mega bloating exactly around the time you describe: 9-10 dpo for me (it was a natural cycle). So it could be a good sign and nothing to do with egg collection / OHSS! Good luck!

ParksAndRecreation · 17/10/2018 22:23

@lopeylopez How have you managed not to have scan and bloods? I’ve had to go every 3 days since day 8 - it’s been driving me nuts!! Hopefully Friday will be my last scan and they’ll agree to trigger on Saturday evening. I’ll have been stimming for 15 days by then....😐
Are you on the same protocol as me? I’m short antagonist...which sorts of pretty accurately describes me as a person too 😂

Peanut1980 · 18/10/2018 05:55

So my OTD has arrived and I’ve done the test. I have a very faint BFP line (it’s a squinter!). Still not feeling overly confident about it so I’ll call the clinic this morning and see what they say 🤞🙏

Peanut1980 · 18/10/2018 05:56

My faint BFP 🙈

September/October IVF
CritterTamer · 18/10/2018 07:03

@Peanut1980 - congrats again - it’s definitely positive! I guess your clinic will arrange a blood test now to confirm for you? 😊

Thanks everyone for your thoughts - I feel truly awful, spent another night in agony unable to move and strong nausea- 4th night of it now and I’m so tired. It has eased a bit thismorning againbut not as much as it did yesterday morning and still look 5 months pg so not holding out much hope that it won’t come back. Will call the clinic again later if it doesn’t go - literally having to crawl up the stairs on my hands and knees the pain is so bad 😒

Parks - sorry you’re stuck in limbo - better to hold off a few days and get more follies though I think! Good luck with the rest of the stims!

LopeyLopez · 18/10/2018 07:03

That looks good @Peanut1980 !!! Not that faint at all. Well done, I think you made it!

@ParksAndRecreation I don't know why no scans or bloods. It makes me really worried. Like I said, last time all was fine so I had no reason to worry, but surely they took a chance in not doing any monitoring until day 9....? When I asked about it I was told that's just how they do things here. It's an NHS clinic but I'm self-funded so essentially a private patient. Sometimes I think I don't get enough for my money compared to other places! Having said that, it would be a nightmare having to get time off work for multiple appointments. I'm a teacher so time off at the last minute is not good....you would let a lot of people down and you have to set cover for each lesson missed, which takes ages and is a massive hassle. Especially when you phone in sick because you're at death's door but still had to be up at 5 to get the cover on the system!! Arggggh (job related rant over....!)

I guess this time it is less of a risk as they know how I responded last time (totally as expected). However I am on 50% more stims meds a day this time round so that might make a difference.... I hope so anyway, in terms of eggs!

Are you bloated and tender in the ovary region? I certainly am. I get pain/discomfort with normal ovulation so this is like that with bells on! And started about day 5. Wow, 15 days of stims! Should be a good result. I only have meds for 10 days so I guess they're hoping that will be enough. I hope so too. Good luck!

LopeyLopez · 18/10/2018 07:04

@ParksAndRecreation and yeah I'm short antagonist too...

ParksAndRecreation · 18/10/2018 09:10

@lopeylopez - I don’t feel bloated, although boyfriend said this morning that he thinks I’m starting to get a bit swollen. He pointed out I’ve basically got a big bag of marbles in my tummy 😂...
It’s not tender either - although I sometimes feel a bit sort of ‘full’. Hopefully not much longer to go now....

Peanut1980 · 18/10/2018 09:34

@crittertamer I’m so sorry to hear you’re in so much discomfort. Hope it starts to subside soon.

Just called the clinic and they said to go in for a bloods test so just waiting to do that now and then I get the results tomorrow x

Botanica · 18/10/2018 09:53

Good luck Peanut!
Hope you get an encouraging result and start seeing those HCG levels getting higher!

Dia12 · 18/10/2018 10:15

Congrats @peanut1980 that’s def still a positive. It’s a different test from the earlier ones isn’t it? I think that could make a difference in the intensity of the lines. Excited for you 💕

Sounds like you’re having an unusual amount of pain - I really think you should insist the clinic see you. I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time and hope it eases soon. Xx

Toot too for your little follies @lopeylopez and @parksandrecreation - hope you both get a good growth spurt in your last few days. Not long to go now x

Peanut1980 · 18/10/2018 10:47

Thanks all. They’ve done a blood test today and will call me in the morning. I may need to go in for another blood test on Monday to confirm what’s going on. My nurse would be amazing at playing poker. She doesn’t give anything away! 👀

Hope everyone else is keeping OK. Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way 😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏

Trying2bemum · 18/10/2018 12:02

Fingers crossed for you @Peanut1980

@CritterTamer that sounds awful. You poor thing, I felt so so bad with OHSS. It gets a lot worse if you fall pregnant - so hopefully it's a good sign for you 🤞🏼

Good luck @Dia12 and @LopeyLopez with stims and ec

I had my baseline this morning. All fine except they found a cyst on my left ovary... he thinks it's a corpus luteum - or cyst left over from ovulation last month - and should resolve on its own. So starting stims tonight.

I'm worrying about it a bit now though - has anyone else started stims with a cyst?

ginandtonicformeplease · 18/10/2018 13:16

I'm feeling really pessimistic today about it all. I just don't think it's worked. I'm getting some mini cramps and I'm wondering if it's AF - it would be really really early but I guess all the meds have messed my system up.

CritterTamer · 18/10/2018 14:39

@Ginandtonicformeplease - I know where you’re coming from - I feel exactly the same. No real positive signs and instead all this pain and miserableness (off to the clinic soon as they wanted to check me out)

I did have a VERY strong sense that AF was coming on days 4 and 5 after transfer but she didn’t - instead it turned into this horribleness! I hope that doesn’t happen to you too but the impending AF feeling definitely isn’t n3cessRil6 bad news 😊

CritterTamer · 18/10/2018 14:40

Necessarily bad news

Peanut1980 · 18/10/2018 15:10

@ginandtonicformeplease and @crittertamer how many days past transfer are you? Please don’t give up hope yet. I know it’s so hard but I really don’t have any symptoms other than the spotting.

@crittertamer let us know how you get on at the clinic today 😘

CritterTamer · 18/10/2018 17:03

So just back from the clinic where late onset moderate OHSS has been confirmed - ovaries are over 8cm and lots of fluid leakage. Been sent home with daily injections of blood thinners to do (yay, thought I was done with needles for a while!) and ordered to bed/sofa rest for a few days and drink 3 litres of water per day. Has about a pint of bloods taken too!

The plus side is that the doctor and 2different nurses all couldn’t stop grinning and told me there’s really only one reason that I’d be feeling like this, and to expect the beta HCG test they’ve just done to come back positive tomorrow 😁

It’s going to be a very long, sleepless night, but so glad i don’t have to POAS to get the result!
