Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Amazing news @peanut1980 💕 how exciting! When is your official test date?

I’m feeling much better now, thank you @trying2bemum. How are you getting on with your treatment?

Hope you and your DH enjoyed your massage @fingersxssd83, sounds like you have a lot going on right now - as if fertility treatment isn’t enough of an emotional rollercoaster all on its own. 💐

I’ve tried to keep busy this weekend but am becoming really restless thinking about how the embies are getting on. Wish I could fast forward to the finish line 😟

Trying2bemum · 14/10/2018 13:38

Congratulations @Peanut1980 hope this is it for you xx

Fingers crossed for you @Dia12
I'm waiting for AF as I've got my baseline tomorrow. I had bad period pain yesterday but nothing today - typical..

Peanut1980 · 15/10/2018 07:42

Thanks all. My official test date is Thursday. I did another test this morning because I wanted to see if the line was getting lighter or darker. I was sweating so much in the night I must have been dehydrated as only managed 3 seconds of pee but the test says 5. Wasn’t expecting much on the test at all but I did get another line and I’d say it’s a little darker than yesterday. I just don’t get the boobs things. In my pregnancies before my boobs have been so painful it’s brought me to tears but they’re not sensitive in the slightest at the moment. Anyway, will just have to wait and see how it goes. I now only too well the risk of miscarriage or chemical pregnancy so it’s over one hurdle and onto the next! Just fingers crossed this stays positive for now.

I do feel terribly guilty. The ivf journey was so much harder than I thought it would be and the women that have been through this several times are amazingly strong. Don’t give up ladies. Never lose hope xxx

Bottom test is this mornings one x

Morning all - looks like I’m going to be triggering tomorrow or Wednesday. 2 lead follicles are 20mm and 19mm, but the others lagging behind at 16,15 and 14. There are some incrementally smaller ones in there too - maybe one of the smaller ones might get up to a collectible size by then too.
I feel inordinately proud of my body for having just knuckled down and grown some eggs.
Let’s see what happens now - but if you need me I’ll just be the cat on the hot tin roof....😬

ginandtonicformeplease · 15/10/2018 12:31

@Peanut1980 Congratulations, it looks like a BFP to me! I'm wondering whether to test early as I just don't think I can manage the whole 2 weeks.

I had loads more symptoms last time - my boobs were so sore from the first progynova I took, and grew massively, but no change at all this time, not a hint of tenderness. But I keep telling myself that it does no good to try and symptom spot and just to distract myself with work.

Peanut1980 · 15/10/2018 13:49

@parksandrecreation that’s fab news! Almost time for your 24 hours of jab free time 😁

@ginandtonicformeplease when are you due to test? I’m not so sure about this early test lark. I’ve been quite anxious wondering whether it’s correct or not. I don’t think it’s easy either way 🙈

ParksAndRecreation · 15/10/2018 14:25

Hi @peanut1980 - oddly, I don’t mind the jabs at all (what the hell is wrong with me) I’ve had no side effects and once I got used to the cattle prod sized needle on the Ganirelix it’s been breezy.

Just had a call from the clinic to say they want this hen to keep sitting on her eggs a few more days - so it’s looking like I’ll trigger on Wednesday and do EC on Friday. Bit scared the big follicles will be tooo big by then, but they say no. Apparently they can be up to 25mm and be ok - although omg I might burst by then! At least the others will have caught up so it’s all good and maybe I’ll have got rid of my massive cold and hacking cough by then too!

Hope everyone is ok - wherever you are and with whatever news you have. The journey is insane - I couldn’t do it without you all.

AniSL · 15/10/2018 22:44

Peanut1980 awesome news!

Ginandtonicformeplease when is your test date.

Parksandrecreation sounds like your clinic is doing the same as mine, smaller follies caught up with a few that were bigger and I ended up with 19 eggs, 16 being mature. Dont worry about lack of side effects, cycle 1 I had none, cycle 2 I had side effects the first day or so but was fine after this. Suffering now though

ParksAndRecreation · 15/10/2018 23:08

Thanks @AniSL - possible dumb question...but presumably they just get one egg from each follicle? I’ve now got 12 follicles on my right ovary (still only 1 teeny one on my left) so does that mean I could only get a maximum of 12 eggs? I’ve not a clue....

AniSL · 15/10/2018 23:22

Not a dumb question, it is usually one egg per follicle, it will all be a waiting game to see if they are mature

ParksAndRecreation · 15/10/2018 23:31

Thanks - I thought it must just be one, but then was reading about ladies who get over 30 eggs...and thought maybe more come out of a big follicle!
Oh well - I know it only takes one....

ginandtonicknowsherstuff · 16/10/2018 00:00

@ParksAndRecreation They collected 37 eggs from me when I had EC back in April! I had absolutely no side effects from the meds, was on extremely low dose to try and prevent OHSS - not quite low enough as had to go to freeze all and I was in agony for days after.

@AniSL My test date is Tuesday. I'm away for work then, so I'm very tempted to test early on Monday when DH will be with me - last time I was away as well so I just told him the good news over text. I'm more thinking that if it's negative I'll want him there.

ginandtonicknowsherstuff · 16/10/2018 00:03

And Parks our doctor said before EC not to get hopes up as a lot of eggs usually means poor quality - it's quality over quantity, it only takes one

CritterTamer · 16/10/2018 13:41

Hi ladies

Hope you’re all doing ok today 😊 I’m wondering if anyone else in their TWW is suffering from terrible bloating and abdominal pain? This is day 3 of it for me now and I feel awful - just moving around and getting up and down from chairs is so painful, my waistline has disappeared and I look like my abdomen has been pumped up with a bicycle pump! The pain starts under my ribs and goes down to my groin at its worst, and round my sides, also getting out of breath if I do anything. Coughing and sneezing is terrifying! I rang my clinic who just said drink plenty of water - anyone else experiencing this? I’m on exactly the same meds i had last cycle - utrogestan pessaries and oestrogen pills and had nothing like this last time.

Sorry for the moan but getting worried and feeling crap - hoping this is normal!

ginandtonicknowsherstuff · 16/10/2018 14:17

@CritterTamer - I'm not suffering like this for the FET, but it sounds like I was a few days after EC. My clinic recommended lucozade and coconut water and they really seemed to help.

With the cyclogest I'm just getting a bit constipated!

CritterTamer · 16/10/2018 14:25

Oh dear - Lucozade - evil stuff LOL. I do have a bottle of coconut water in the fridge though so I’ll try that- thanks Ginandtonic (name change?) feel so bad at the moment I might even try lucozade if that doesn’t work. I have to go back to work tomorrow and dreading it - I can only shuffle around and can’t do my trousers up right now - I feel like Mr Blobby 😁

Dia12 · 16/10/2018 14:28

Hi @critertamer this sounds like the kind of pain I’ve been having after EC which was exasperated from being constipated and bloated. As my constipation has eased so has this pain.
It’s reassuring to know your clinic aren’t too concerned. Take some fybogel (this is what my clinic advised today). I can completely understand your worry, I was really scared by the pain, but it will get better. 😘

CritterTamer · 16/10/2018 14:44

Thanks @Dia12 - that’s odd I’ve not got any constipation (if anything tending to the opposite - sorry for TMI) and constantly feeling sick 😔

How are you doing - have you had ET yet?

Dia12 · 16/10/2018 15:04

Ah sorry I think i misunderstood. This whole procedure is so variable and an utter mystery!! I hope the discomfort eases soon.

I’ve just got back from my ET - have one grade 2/2 blastocyst and one compact morula transferred 🙏 so grateful to have reached this far as just wasn’t optimistic at all that I’d get here.

The third embryo is also a compact morula and although they will continue culture for rest of today, they don’t think it’s suitable for freezing.

Now to figure out how to get through the next 2 weeks Confused

CritterTamer · 16/10/2018 15:29

Congrats on the two embies @Dia12 and welcome to the horrible two week wait! I’m sorry I’m not sure what 2/2 means - my clinic uses letters like AA or BB.

Fingers crossed that the third picks up enough for freezing 🤞

Dia12 · 16/10/2018 15:56

Thank you ☺️ ☺️☺️
From my understanding grade 2 is where the cells may be slighly uneven or have minor fragmentation. The embryologist was happy enough and I’m so relieved.

ginandtonicformeplease · 16/10/2018 23:51

Congrats on the two embryos @Dia12 ! Nope I've no idea how to get through these 2 weeks.

Are you feeling any better @CritterTamer ?

Peanut1980 · 17/10/2018 06:30

Eeek! That’s so exciting @dia12. Hope those little embryos are getting nice and snug in there 😘🤞🙏

Trying2bemum · 17/10/2018 13:38

Fingers tightly crossed for you @Dia12

@CritterTamer I was like that after EC both times. Even mild OHSS is awful. Eat plenty of protein, drink sooooo much water and have some Gatorade as well - apparently that helps. Don't go to work if you're still unwell xxx
