Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

@TeaJenny81 - I’m sorry to hear that. Don’t give up hope yet though -embryos can and do pick up between days 3 and 6, and if they are put back at day 5 they will have a better chance.

I know you will have an anxious couple of days to wait now and I really feel for you. I hope you can find some nice things to do to take your mind off it! Keeping everything crossed for your little embryos 🤞

Peanut1980 · 11/10/2018 11:31

@teajenny81 I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sending love and positive vibes your way. I have my fingers crossed for your embryos. COME ON EMBIES!! 🙏🙏🙏

Peanut1980 · 11/10/2018 11:39

I’m currently on 4dp5dt. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. I blame the hormones 🙈 Not really got any symptoms. I’m suffering with headaches and have a few twinges but nothing to get excited about. It is still early though so 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

CritterTamer · 11/10/2018 11:39

@Dia12 hope your egg collection went well today xxx

CritterTamer · 11/10/2018 11:43

@Peanut1980 it’s such an anxious time. I keep worrying that I’m not feeling nearly so many twinges and sensations as I did last cycle and thinking that’s a bad sign, but then tell myself that despite having masses of symptoms that time it was a BFN so none of it really means anything I think! We are on so many hormones I think it’s impossible to tell what’s just caused my those.

Trying desperately not to symptom spot or start worrying but only 2 days in and it’s started already LOL

CritterTamer · 11/10/2018 11:48

One great thing I’m noticing now is that all the oestrogen and progesterone is having positive effects on the horrible things that the month of testosterone gel did to my hair and skin 😊

Botanica · 11/10/2018 11:52

@TeaJenny81 So sorry to hear your news today. I have everything crossed for you.

I was where you are exactly two weeks ago. Eleven eggs and a handful of embryos looking good on day 3. Clinic advised to grow on and then none had made blastocyst on day 5 and didn't make it on day 6 either.

Having nothing to put back after everything you've been through to get to that point is so unfair.

But you're not there yet, and these are little fighters you've got that are still going and still trying, so try and keep positive until you know otherwise.

Wishing you all the best xxx

Peanut1980 · 11/10/2018 11:57

@crittertamer I’m so with you. I try not to symptom check but sometimes my mind does wander. I’m so sick of google. Never googled so much in my life 🙈 There are no rules or patterns with this journey. Just have to wait until test day and try to remain sane 🤪 We do have one more cycle so I’m trying to think about what I’ll do differently next time. I didn’t do Acupuncture this cycle and I have no idea why as I think it’s amazing. I’m def doing that next time x

Trying2bemum · 11/10/2018 15:22

Thanks for sharing @AniSL sounds like you've been reading It Starts With The Egg. I've been taking Ubiquinol too, have thought about melatonin - I've seen some people say they took it just during stims. Is it easy to get hold of? It doesn't sound like your diet made any difference - amazing embryos!

Trying2bemum · 11/10/2018 15:23

Fingers tightly crossed for you @TeaJenny81 xx

TeaJenny81 · 11/10/2018 15:51

Thanks for your support and encouragement everyone. I'm fine for the moment, just have to wait and see what they say on Sat. Part of me feels that if there is no transfer then at least that is a definite answer I'll eat patè, med rare steak and drink red wine and have some blue cheese and get on with life. The uncertainty of transferring an embryo that prob isn't going to make it, the TWW, everything on hold, the feeling that I am potentially pregnant all the hopes and dreams is probably more crushing when it fails.

How are you feeling now @Botanica?

xx

AniSL · 11/10/2018 16:24

TeaJenny81 keeping my fingers crossed for you, hoping they develop

Tryingtobemum I actually hadn't read the book when I started, I was following the Natural Fertility Plan when someone told me about the book. Very similar but the former sends success stories and tips etc, also the book never mentioned glutathione. I bought my melatonin from Amazon in liquid form, mistakenly has 1ml the first day and it wiped me out.
The diet was terrible, ended up having fizzy fangs almost every other day at one point

LopeyLopez · 11/10/2018 18:25

Thanks @Trying2bemum @Peanut1980 @CritterTamer @ParksAndRecreation

Well, af started properly today (finally!) so at least that hurdle is out of the way. It has been such a stressful few days. Now onto stims tonight!!! I have three vials to mix with water each time this time....erghhh. Hope it doesn't make me feel too bloated.

@AniSL I take all the supplements (started taking glutathione a couple of months ago after your recommendation on another thread actually...thanks!) and have read all the books, and I try to be perfect with the lifestyle stuff BUT it is so hard during these stressful times....I have also fallen off the wagon big time with regards to diet in the last two months, annoyingly just at the time when it matters most....😕 Your comments about fizzy fangs made me smile! I am veggie and do eat fruit veg seeds nuts etc....but also I'm a sugar fiend and snack uncontrollably on junk at times. Not good.

Anyway I'll have a salad and a protein shake for tea tonight to welcome in the stims!!

@TeaJenny81 Sorry about the embies but as others say there is hope yet. Last time I still had a transfer on day 5 even though my only remaining embryo did not quite make it to blastocyst. Granted I got a bfn, but I was googling (as one does...) and there were plenty of success stories of babies from morulas (early blasts) and the like. So don't give up just yet.

@Peanut1980 Best of luck with surviving the tww!

Good luck everyone else x 🍀🍀🍀

AniSL · 11/10/2018 18:59

Congrats on finally starting LopeyLopez, AF really does mess stuff up, I do hope the glutathione makes all the difference for u. I am vege too so one would think it would be difficult for me to get jelly sweets, oh no I have a radar for them.

LopeyLopez · 11/10/2018 19:07

Lol @AniSL me too....M&S veggie Percy pigs...!

There is a book, "I quit sugar" that I bought some time ago and have read parts of....but I really need to put it into practice. Sugar is so bad for eggs (apparently) but also pretty much every other body part. I'm sure I'd easily lose a stone if I could give up sugar!!

Dia12 · 11/10/2018 19:52

Hey guys,
Hope you’re all well.

Sending your embies good luck vibes @teajenny1982, stay positive, it’s not over yet.

Good luck with your baseline scan tomorrow @parksandrecreation and starting your stims @lopeylopez - it’s all go!

My EC went pretty well, got 6 eggs (thanks for asking @crittertamer). Would have been nice to get more considering last time they collect 9 mature eggs - but I’m just grateful I got the six as it’s all so unpredictable.
Whilst the procedure went well and I had some pain which was manageable, my pain became progressively worse on the drive home. By the time we got home I was in tears and could barely get out of the car. I really did get worried for a while but thankfully as there was no bleeding and DH examined my tummy and said it all seemed fine and so with more painkillers, hot water bottle and rest, I now finally feel better.
Totally not was I was expecting as last time it was such a doddle. Confused

CritterTamer · 11/10/2018 20:18

Hi @Dia12 - congrats on the 6 eggs 😊
Sorry you had such a rough time after - it’s odd how it goes - last cycle I had very little bleeding and a lot of discomfort for two days (not bad pain though) and this time I had a LOT of bleeding but actually suffered less pain afterwards.

Glad you’re feeling better now - fingers crossed for good news for you tomorrow 🤞

AniSL · 11/10/2018 21:55

Dia12 congrats, that's a good amount

Dia12 · 11/10/2018 22:02

Thanks guys 😊 going to try and switch off until tomorrow now. X

LopeyLopez · 11/10/2018 22:35

Well done @Dia12 . Yes, rest up now...the worst is over.

First injection done for me....lots to go!

FingersXssd83 · 12/10/2018 07:01

Eep AF arrived for me this morning after a few days of emotional hell. First menopur tomorrow and first scan will be next Friday. Feel strangely empowered. Bring on the injections!

C'mon ladies, we can do this 💪

Dia12 · 12/10/2018 12:18

Hello gals
So call from clinic today and they said 5/6 eggs were mature (yay) and 3 those of fertilised normally (yay but worried yay).
Next update tomorrow. I’m trying to be grateful for even the three, just full of dread.
Still topped up with paracetamols!
Anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend to distract themselves from this awful topic!

CritterTamer · 12/10/2018 12:41

Good news @Dia12 - remember you only need one good one 😊
Hope you’re feeling better today and everyone else is doing ok too. Hope those stimming are doing ok with it.
I’m having a down day today - feeling like it’s not going to work for me mainly due to the almost complete lack of symptoms. It’s only 3dp5dt but at this point in my previous cycle I could feel loads of things going on. This time there’s almost nothing so struggling to remain positive at the moment.

Dia12 · 12/10/2018 13:06

Thanks @crittertamer. Don’t over think it, you know how all the drugs can mimick and mask any symptoms of pregnancy. Whether you are feeling symptoms or not, it’s all unreliable and meaningless.
It’s also very early on for you too. I would just keep reminding yourself that you have two amazing quality embies on board and you are in a healthy state - no reason for it to be unsuccessful.
Sending positive vibes your way!!!

Peanut1980 · 12/10/2018 13:08

@crittertamer I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling down. I’m in exactly the same boat. I’m 5dp5dt and don’t have any symptoms. I have one child and have been pregnant 4 times in total. I usually have more symptoms. I’m trying to think that maybe there’s still a chance. Don’t give up hope yet. It’s not over yet. Big hugs to you xx
